CHAPTER TWO
One Year Later:
"Wake up Fae! Lewis said he was bringing the bus around in thirty!" Ray's loud voice hollered near my ear waking me up.
Yawning I sat up and couldn't help but snicker as I watched Ray try to dry her hip length hair with one hand while packing her suitcase with the other.
"Yeah, yeah laugh it up. You still have to pack too!" Ray happily pointed out causing me to smirk.
"Actually I never unpacked." I told her casually causing her to pause her frantic movements to give me the dirtiest stink-eye she could before the sound of the bus beeping caused her to fly into action again.
Laughing at her frantic actions I stood up and stretched before leaning down to pull my fully packed suitcase out from under my bed and took it over to the door.
"Okay Ray, I'll pack for you, you just worry about getting dressed." I said taking pity on my new room-mate who immediately showered me with thanks as she ran back to the bathroom to finish getting ready while I packed up the last of her clothes.
We made it down to the bus in record timing and I decided to run the letter I had written to my cousin Bella, down to the nearest post office.
Checking the location on my phone it didn't take me long to find the post office although I was surprised to see where it was placed.
On the right side of it there was a dark alleyway filled with trash and on the left side of it an apartment building that looked pretty trashed. I tried to dispel the creepy vibes I was getting and hurried to get inside of it.
Buying the stamp there I handed over my letter to the well dressed elderly lady who radiated the comfortable feelings of a grandmother before rushing out of the Post Office knowing Lewis, our bus driver, would leave without me if I wasn't back in time.
Rushing to get back I had to pass by the trash lined alleyway and as I was jogging past it a stench hit my nose that caused me to a complete stop as I attempted to stop myself from throwing up.
It wasn't the smell of rotting garbage or throw-up which I had no doubt the alleyway was full of but instead it smelt like someone had mixed bleach and buckets full of sugar together and then burnt them.
I swallowed hard several times before shaking my head and started walking before upping it to a jog again to get back to the hotel. A slight breeze brushed across the back of my neck causing me to glance around curiously as there was no wind.
Not seeing anything or anyone near me I felt goosebumps run down my arms and I picked up my pace and made it back to the hotel with only a few minutes to spare.
"Fae!" Ray called out waving me over to pool where she was hanging out with the four other MMA members from the same age group Alana, Richard, Pam and Jaxon.
"I thought we were leaving?" I asked curiously as I walked over to them.
"One of the younger competitors started throwing up like crazy so he was taken to the hospital and Lewis took the bus to clean it out." Ray told me as she laid back against the pool chair.
"Ew. Lucky me then." I said grimacing a bit at the thought of vomit as I plopped down on the concrete near Ray.
There was a bit of tense silence which wasn't strange seeing as how we had never really talked as a group but soon enough Jaxon cracked a joke that made us all laugh and by the time that Lewis brought the bus back around the tension was long gone.
