CHAPTER THREE
Two Months Later:
"Fae your done. Hit the showers and cool off!" Sarah hollered causing me to glare at her and slam my fist into the wall as I ripped my gloves off and stormed through the gym on my way to the showers.
Slamming the door open to the woman's locker room I ripped my clothes off and tossed them to the floor uncaring where they landed as I turned on the cold water and stood underneath of it anger raging through my body. Washing my hair I reached down to grab the shampoo bottle and was surprised to see steam rising off of my body. My anger was replaced by surprise and confusion and I watched in amazement as the steam slowly began to dissipate.
As the steam dissipated my mind began to clear up and I realized there was something wrong with me. It had all started two months ago, I started getting headaches, sudden sharp pains in my body, I shot up five inches and I had begun eating like crazy everyday and not gaining a single pound yet somehow getting stronger and faster.
"I need to do something, find something to help me focus and stay calm.." I muttered to myself as I rested my forehead on the cold concrete wall of the shower. After taking several slow deep breaths I finished my shower and got dressed before walking to my hotel room.
Looking various things up online I found five Yoga poses that were said to be very helpful for anger management and I immediately began to try them out. Finishing the last pose I felt relief as I realized that I did feel much calmer now. I silently vowed to start doing Yoga daily as I stood up and walked back to the gym where we had been practicing our MMA.
As soon as I walked in I felt everyone's gaze on me and I raised my hands in surrender,
"Sorry everyone. I'm good now. I promise." I said putting my hands in my back pockets.
"Are you sure?" Ray asked as she, Sarah, Alana, Richard, Pam and Jaxon watched me closely.
"Yeah. I think it's because the anniversary of my kidnapping is coming up and I've been drinking more lately not to mention I stopped smoking cold turkey." I replied loud enough for the others to hear as well. I could see the visible change that came over everyone as they took in what I had just said.
"In that case, I suggest you start smoking again." Sarah said causing me to laugh.
"I agree and I'm actually about to head out and buy a pack. I'm also going to try and stop drinking so much though so please nobody take it to heart if I say no to going out. I'm also starting Yoga to help keep me calmer as well." I told her and the whole mood of the gym lightened up after that, since my practice was done for the day though I decided to go for a walk around town until I saw an old telephone booth and on a whim decided to call Bella.
"Hello?" Bella answered.
"Hey Bella, it's Fae."
"Fae! Hey sorry your name didn't come up." Bella said sounding confused.
"I'm calling from a phone booth. We're in London right now and I was going for a walk and saw one." I replied feeling the need to explain.
"Cool. How's the competition going this year? Oh! I've been taking karate classes for a couple of months now and I started skating like you suggested and my clumsiness is actually fading." Bella said sounding extremely happy and proud of herself.
"That's awesome Bella! I'm so proud of you!" I told her, happy that she was getting out more. Ever since the kidnapping attempt on her and my being kidnapped she had become withdrawn from other people and a she had stopped leaving the house except for school unless she was with me or on rare occasions with her mother.
"...how are you doing with...it coming up?" Bella asked hesitantly.
"I'm working through some anger issues actually but there are several factor's besides the anniversary. How are you doing with it all?" I asked. Bella was the only family member I felt I could be completely honestly with after coming back from having been kidnapped.
"The stronger I get in karate the more confidence I have with knowing that I can defend myself if anything like that ever happens again so there's that but . . . every time I'm out of the house I have this tiny voice in my subconscious that says someone's watching me." Bella replied hesitantly.
"Don't dismiss that feeling there could be someone following you. The best way to make sure is to stop at random times when you get that feeling and take multiple selfies. Check them out when you get home to see if the same person shows up in them. And I can come home if you want." I said feeling worried, Bella wasn't one to imagine things.
"No. No you keep going with your competition. I'm carrying a taser, pepper spray, that pocket knife you gave me before you left and a yellow belt in karate. I'm okay." Bella said.
"Okay but if you ever need me to come for any reason just call me and I'm on my way." I promised.
"I know. Listen I've got some homework I've got to finish before mom get's home so I'd better go. I'm rooting for you, love you." Bella said.
"Love you too cuz. Stay safe." I said before hanging up.
