Thank you everyone for your favorites and follows. Sorry about the long wait as I said I was having trouble finding inspiration for this story but at long last here is the next chapter.
Chapter Five
Not wanting to stick around to see what my mother would do with her new found knowledge that I obviously could use magic as well I cast a protection bubble around Renee so she would be safe and unaffected by whatever magic my mother might attempt to use on her before I took off, Bella holding onto my waist tightly as we zoomed through the traffic.
Knowing that we were being followed I used an invisibility shield to keep us hidden as I sped up to a speed that human eyes and senses would have trouble navigating. I felt Bella bury her head into my back but she didn't say anything letting me know that while she was scared she trusted me which helped me relax a bit and hope for the best as I managed to get onto the back road that would lead us out of the city.
Slowing down to a normal human speed I slowed and came to a stop near the bottom of a large cliff face. For a minute we just sat there in silence and then I tapped Bella's hands so she would let go of my waist and stood up turning so I could see her.
"What I'm about to tell you is going to sound like some strange fantasy but it's not. It's reality and if you let me I'm going to show you proof but first I need to know if you're ready to hear this." I said, wanting Bella to know how serious I was about what I was going to tell her.
"I don't know if I'm ready but I want to know." Bella replied, getting off the motorcycle and putting her backpack on the ground.
Taking a deep breath I let it out slowly and backed up a few steps,
"Okay first there are more than just humans living on Earth. So far I've encountered vampires, shapeshifters, werewolves, elves, various types of Fae both Dark and Light, and a witch. My mother, Elizabeth, is half Dark Fae half human. My dad was actually a shapeshifter but one of his ancestors must have been a Siren, at least from what I've found out. I know this all sounds like something out of a book but it's not and I'm going to show you so please don't freak out." I warned Bella as I took a few more steps back and quickly pulled off my pants, T-shirt and shoes before allowing the wolf in me to take over my form.
I heard Bella's heartbeat speed up and she squeaked in surprise as she stared up at my large furry form.
"It's still me Bella, I just look different." I told her, not wanting her to freak out too badly even as she started in surprise at hearing my voice coming out of my obviously wolf body.
"Wait so -wait...I need to sit down." Bella stammered out before giving up and just plopping down onto the ground.
Not wanting to scare her by making any sudden movements I sat on my haunches and let her have all the time she needed to make sense of the strange but obviously true facts that I had just told her.
It was probably a good hour before Bella finally stood up from the ground and dusted off the back of her pants as she walked towards me while I kept a cautious eye on her as I listened to her heartbeat which had slowed down from it's racing state of surprise to a normal strong heartbeat.
"Okay. Well I have a lot of questions but first can I pet you?" Bella asked, stopping about three feet from me, her hand already halfway raised.
I felt a grin touch my lips and knew that since I was in wolf form it had to look scary but I was just so happy about her accepting attitude that I couldn't stop it nodding I spoke quickly hoping she didn't take me flashing my teeth as a warning,
"Yes you can 'pet' me although that sounds really weird to say."
Bella walked forward the three steps and began to run her fingers threw the fur at my neck before moving up to right behind my ears which felt so good I immediately tilted my head to give her further access and I heard a whine escape my lips when she stopped causing me to startle and we exchanged glances before we both began to laugh.
I felt relief course through my veins at Bella's trust as she sat down next to my wolf body and leaned into my furry side as she began to ask her questions.
"So lets start with vampires. Are they anything like their portrayed in the movies and books?" Bella asked.
"Well they do drink blood but that's about it for the similarities. Real vampires aren't affected by silver, garlic or crosses and they don't get burnt by the sun. They do attempt to stay out of the sunlight because their bodies sparkle in it as if their bodies have little diamonds stuck in it, personally it reminds me of a colorless disco ball. Their bodies are pretty hard and they are extremely fast and strong and some of them even have abilities like being able to hear your thoughts or make you see things that aren't there which is why humans have no way to kill them. Actually that's why shapeshifters were created, to kill vampires and keep humans safe. Most vampires feed on humans but I've heard that there are some who only drink animal blood, I think that's about all there is to know about vampires." I said running through the facts I knew about vampires.
"Okay, I'll leave the other creatures for now. Is the reason you and Elizabeth don't get along because she's half..what did you say? Dark Fae?" Bella asked curiously with a bit of caution in her voice letting me know she didn't want to be unsensitive about things.
