The family had assembled in the living room to watch the DVD of Iroh and Kimana's wedding shower. It'd become a tradition to watch the video of their wedding shower before their wedding anniversary. The video was a cross between hilarious and downright outrage. Sometimes Zuko and Kiyi wondered why their Grandpa Iroh insisted on watching a video of such a shit show.
They surmised it was due to Iroh feeling one should laugh even when things were a shit show. However, there weren't entirely sure what their Grandma Kimana's reasons were. Maybe it was due to pity for her younger sister Nurita whose mil caused the events in the video. Even if at the time she hadn't been her mil. Only her boyfriend's mother.
Anyway, they witnessed their grandparents show up for the surprise wedding shower. Whoever did the cinematography do a fantastic job with recording the whole event. Everything about the party looked awesome. The decorations, food, and even the music from the live band were terrific. They watched as everyone made their grandparents feel like royalty.
Then Nurita's delusional future mil showed up. Drunk as a skunk. It'd been evident anytime she'd even been glimpsed throughout the movie she was insane. The mil shoved the band off the stage to make a drunk speech about how she was so happy for her new daughter, their grandmother, to be joining her family.
That she already was proud of her first future daughter-in-law. Now she'd have a second one shortly. They witnessed their great-grandma Ilah and her best friend Calypso trying to get the insane drunk lady off the stage.
They struggled where Nurita's future mil threw the heavy microphone across the backyard only to knock over a tiki torch. This set a whole table on fire! Luckily under ten minutes, they extinguished it before it could burn down their home. Then all the women in the family chastised this insane woman thoroughly.
Azulon had been one to call the cops to remove her from the property. Plus, she stated she'd be arrested if she came to their property. They saw their Auntie Nurita, and her boyfriend apologized profusely. After the madwoman had been removed, the rest of the shower turned out perfectly. Thank god they could salvage it.
Kimana then spoke. "I know this is a tough thing to relive once a year. But it also reminds me of how tight-knit our family is. Plus, I love my sister's strength in standing up for herself. She didn't waffle or make excuses for this woman, nor did her future husband. I'm also glad they both got away from this insane woman."
"Well, I do agree, Kimana, with that assessment. So now that we've watched the video? Do your sister and her family plan to join us for the actual party next weekend?"
"Of course, little Ember can't wait to see her cousin. It's a shame that my sister had to move to a different city to escape that woman. So her family can't visit as much as they'd like. I wish they'd lived closer. I truly do miss my sister."
"Then you'll love your anniversary present, beloved, as I've arranged for your sister and niece to come live with us. You've always said you've wanted them here. Plus, given her husband's recent passing? They'll need their family more then ever. So they'll be moving in after our party!" Iroh informed his wife.
She gazed happily into his eyes before throwing herself into his arms. They started making out like teenagers, which caused the rest of the family to chuckle. Zuko and Kiyi were quite excited and delighted their favorite cousin was coming to live with them. Ember was the nice one, unlike their cousin Azula. Things would be perfect!
