In our previous episode, our heroes finally got to travel to the Insulae Region. We have so many more adventures to witness on the island.

The plane touched down in the Insulae Region. It went down the runway and stopped near a small town. There was a pokécenter, a pokémart, and a few houses. In the middle was a large bulletin board.

They all exited the plane and stepped into the town. The Professor got everyone's attention and directed it towards the bulletin board.

The board itself had a giant map of the entire region. There were marks on it representing the gyms. There were also folded maps inside the shelf of the bulletin board. Around the board were huge, waterproof backpacks with sleeping bags on the top and sides. Hanging on some hooks were belts with pokéballs attached.

"Welcome to the Insulae Region!" announced the Professor. "I'll make simple introductions. On this bulletin board, is a map as you can see. There are also smaller maps to take, which are really helpful. On the maps are locations of all eighteen gyms. While you are allowed to take the gyms in any order, I recommend you first challenge these first six gyms. The normal type gym, the flying type gym, the dark type gym, the bug type gym, the water gym and the rock gym. Because the deeper you go into the region, the stronger the Pokémon. As for the backpacks, you probably know who they go to. And of course, the belts go to the four stars here."

Theo, Mack, Thomas, and Carolina all smiled and picked up a random backpack from the pile. They wore them and tested the weight before returning to their groups.

Aaron, Seth, Jax, and Zeke all took a belt and tried it on before heading back to their places.

"Now that everyone's situated and I have explained everything. It's time for me to depart. I wish you all good luck on your adventure."

With that, the professor turned and walked back towards the plane. Aaron wasted no time in figuring out which gym he should take and turned towards the board. He called his group over to the board.

"I say we should go to the rock gym. Not only will Chespin have the type advantage, but it's the closest gym to here. If anyone's going to beat all eighteen gyms first. It's going to be me," said Aaron.

"Big talk. I'm gonna beat all of them before you finish your fourteenth!" countered Seth.

"Pick a gym then, and we'll see who gets there first."

"Fine then." Seth pulled out a foldable map and turned around. "Come on everyone, we're heading to the dark gym."

Aaron shrugged and headed off with his team to the rock gym. Jax and Zeke walked up to the board.

"Honestly, I'm not going to the bug type gym. I should probably save the type advantages for later," said Jax. "We should probably go to either the flying or normal gym."

Mack walked up and inspected the board. "You should go to the normal type gym. It's pretty close to here."

Jax shrugged. "Okay, let's go."

"Don't forget to take a map." reminded Camillia.

"That's a first. You're always forgetting stuff," said Mack.

Zeke looked at the board, deep in thought. "Honestly, I would follow Jax's philosophy, but the remaining options don't seem good. Bug type deals neutral damage I believe and flying deals super effective damage. Might as well head to the water gym."

"Do you talk to yourself this much?" asked Cyrus, who happened to be on his phone.

"No, I voice my thoughts. Let's go." he pulled out a map and started walking.

"Wait, we're going to the water gym? That's the farthest one away! I can't do all that walking!"

"Well you better suck it up," said Carolina.

"I'm not an athlete like you!" argued Cyrus.

"May I remind you I'm carrying a giant backpack?" with that, she jogged after Zeke and Elliot.

Jax's group

Jax and his team were trekking through a vast plain. They saw lots of bird Pokémon flying ahead and some Drilburs.

"So what do you think your first Pokémon should be?" asked Camilla.

"I'm not sure yet. But I know there are some interesting Pokémon to find." answered Jax.

"Well, there doesn't seem to be many Pokémon." stated Mack.

"We can just look in the tall grass. There's a lot of Pokémon hiding out there."

"Well I don't see any tall grass."

"We'll find some eventually, and then we'll find some Pokémon."

They continued walking along the plain when they heard a screech in the sky. They all looked up and saw five Murkrow diving.

"Maybe they found something," said Jax.

The Murkrow found something alright. They dove straight at Camilla, who shrieked and dove onto the ground. The Murkrow pulled up and came for another dive.

"What's up with them!" shouted Camilla.

"I don't know! Hold on," Jax pulled out his pokedex and aimed it at the Murkrow as they came for another round.

"It says here that they like stealing shiny things like rings or bracelets from women!"

"Well I'm not giving up mine! Go, Vulpix!"

An Alolan Vulpix appeared. It seemed to glow in the bright sunlight.

"Go Valdez!"

"Out, Bucky!"

Both Chimchar and a Tyrouge appeared. Sophie, being the camerawoman, wasn't allowed to interfere with the show.

The Murkrow came again with another dive-bomb. All three Pokémon stood ready as the Murkrow put their talos out.

"Icy Wind!"

The Murkrow scattered as the Vulpix breathed a stream of cold wind. One Murkrow wasn't fast enough and crashed as ice formed over its wings.

"Valdez, Ember!"

"Bucky, use Rock Tomb!"

A Murkrow got hit face first with Valdez's Ember, while another tried to dodge Bucky's Rock Tomb, but got hit in the side.

The four remaining Murkrows ceased their attack and flew upwards. They then split their group into individuals and charged from four different sides.

"We can't cover all sides!" shouted Jax.

"Can't you try catching one?" asked Mack.

"Sure!"

The four Murkrow dove at the trainers and their Pokémon. Their wings glowed white as the prepared Wing Attack.

"Here goes. Go, pokeball!"

As a Murkrow dove at him. He took one of his pokéballs and threw it at the Murkrow. The Murkrow was sucked into the pokéball as Valdez, Bucky, and the Vulpix attacked the other three Pokémon.

The Murkrow however, didn't want to stay in. It burst free from the pokéball and was about to attack when Valdez slammed it with Ember. The Murkrow shrieked and took off with its remaining comrade.

"Thank you for your help guys," said Camilla. She turned to Jax. "You're a pretty good battler."

"One of my dads taught me."

"Hey, I'm a fine battler- y'know what. I don't care," said Mack.

"Maybe you could teach me a few things."

Valdez knew what Camilla was trying to do, but he unfortunately wasn't getting his trainers attention by punching his leg.

"Sure, but those Murkrow will probably come back, we better start running. Return, Valdez."

"Yep, let's go. Return, Bucky."

They all started running farther down the plain. They ran in silence until Mack asked Camilla a question.

"Aren't you going to return your Vulpix?"

"Oh dear. I forgot."

Aaron's Group

Aaron and his team were heading straight towards a small forest. According to Clara, after the forest, the gym wasn't that far behind. They would have been making better progress, if Thomas didn't inspect every new flower he saw growing.

"Hey, uhm how do I say this kindly? Can you please stop smelling every flower on our path?" asked Aaron.

"I'm inspecting them. These flowers don't grow in the Calzei region."

"He's got a point," said Clara.

"Eh, don't worry about me. I'll catch up."

"What I'm worried about is you get distracted by something while you catch up," said Aaron.

"He also has a point," said Clara.

"Can't you pick them or something?" asked Aaron.

"No pot, and these might be protected flowers."

"He also has a point again," said Clara."

"Are you going to say that every time we make a point?" asked Thomas. "Cause it's bound to get repetitive and annoying."

"You have a point there."

"Forget it, let's keep going," said Thomas grudgingly as he shouldered his backpack and moved on.

Clara winked at Aaron and continued leading the way into the forest.

As they walked into the forest, Aaron noticed their Roto Drone flying in front of them, recording. He decided that it wouldn't be cool to look directly into the camera. So he instead looked around the forest, looking for Pokémon to catch.

"Hey, do you hear that?" asked Thomas.

"Hear what?" asked Clara.

A quiet hooting sounded through the forest. Aaron pulled out his pokéball with Chespin and moved towards the sound. Clara also grabbed her own pokeball., but Aaron stopped her.

"Let me do this. It's a perfect opportunity for my first catch."

He walked through the trees, stepping softly. He held up a hand for quiet, and heard another hoot from above. He threw his pokéball upwards where it landed on the branch the Pokémon was sitting on. Out came Chespin as he started balancing on the branch.

Aaron stepped back and saw the Pokémon he was facing. It was a Hoothoot, a flying type Pokémon.

"Alright, we need to get that thing on the ground. Use, Vine Whip!"

Chespin sent out vines and ensnared the Hoothoot. He started to pull it off the tree when the Hoothoot rapidly used Peck on his vines, causing him to release. The Hoothoot flapped its wings and charged at Chespin, who leaped to another branch.

"Try to stay on one branch! Or else I might lose track of you!"

The Hoothoot came again with another strike, Chespin hopped to the side and teetered dangerously on the branch. The Hoothoot came again with another charge, forcing Chespin to move from branch to branch.

"Come one! We can't lose him!" shouted Aaron as he chased after Chespin.

The situation wasn't looking good for Chespin. He had to repeatedly hop from one branch to another as the Hoothoot tried hitting him with Wing Attack.

Aaron ran underneath the branch where the two Pokémon were fighting. He suddenly came up with an idea.

"Jump off the branch and use Vine Whip!"

Chespin understood Aaron's idea and leaped off the branch, leaving the Hoothoot startled by the dangerous decision. Chespin however used Vine Whip and grabbed the branch, swinging upwards at extreme speeds.

"Tackle!"

The Hoothoot realized what was happening but didn't react fast enough. Chespin slammed into the bird and caused the both of them to tumble to the ground. Chespin landed on the Hoothoot and rolled off. The Hoothoot got up painfully and tried to attack.

"Not this time! Go, pokéball!"

Aaron threw a pokéball at the Hoothoot. The Pokémon was sucked into the pokéball and couldn't break free.

"Boom, first catch."

"Wow, you're really good at battling." commented Clara as she ran up to him.

"Thanks, but we should probably go. We have a gym to challenge."

They ran through the forest and eventually made it out. They were met with a giant rock face.

"Wait, where's the town with the gym?" asked Aaron nervously.

"Huh, relative to our position and the scaling on the map. I'd say the town is on top of the rock face."

"We're going to have to climb the whole thing?"

"Not exactly," said Thomas, who had a pair of binoculars. "We're going to have to climb about a third of the way before going through a cave system. All the handholds are man made though."

"Yay, rock climbing. Here we go."

Seth's Group

Seth and his team were in a forest of their own. Only this one was much larger. They saw many Pokémon, who had immediately hid themselves from view.

"I wonder what cool Pokémon we'll find. Maybe a cool Galar Pokémon," said Seth.

"Actually, me and my dad did research. They're no Galar Pokémon in this region," said Connor.

"What! How come?"

"Galar Pokémon simply never traveled here. All Galar Pokémon originated from the region of Galar. And it's too far out for flying type Pokémon."

"If all Galar Pokémon originated from Galar, how come you can find some in the Calzei region?"

"Those Pokémon were brought over from Galar a few years back by planes and ships. Over time, there became more and more."

"Ah okay. But I'm still going to find cool Pokémon nonetheless."

"Okay."

They continued trekking through the woods, Seth groaning every time a Pokémon slipped away into the foliage.

"This is so annoying! Why can't they just do battle once in a while?" complained Seth.

"Some Pokémon are just naturally timid," said Theo. "Hopefully you'll get lucky though."

Seth shrugged and continued moving along. The forest was deep and thick, with shadows draping the entire forest. There were few patches of sunlight because of the dense canopy above them. Connor stopped in one of these sunlight pockets to examine the map.

"This forest is extremely large actually. The dark gym is located inside the forest."

"Huh, the forest fits the theme of a dark type gym nicely," said Seth.

Connor chuckled. "Well, we better get moving."

They continued on in the forest. They came upon a sleeping Nidoran male on a log, causing everyone to freeze as Seth raised his hand. The Nidoran's ears twitched at the slight sounds

Seth pulled out a pokéball and readied his throw. Connor stopped him as he was about to throw.

"There's no way you can catch it from here." whispered Connor.

"I don't have much of a choice." Seth whispered back.

"Just try it." whispered Theo.

"Fine, but you all stay here."

Seth creeped forward, trying to keep every footstep extremely quiet. He froze everytime the Nidoran's ears twitched at a bit of sound.

Seth took another step, causing the Pokémon to stir a bit. Seth gritted his teeth and threw his pokéball. The Nidoran's eyes snapped open, but it couldn't move out of the way in time.

His pokéball hit the side of the log and bounced off. Seth muttered cursed as the Nidoran leapt into action. It didn't run away however, it came straight at Seth.

"Oh so you wanna fight? Go, Arianna!"

His Popplio appeared and did a flip, unaware of the charging Nidoran.

"No time for your tricks. Use, Water Gun!"

The Nidoran dodged the Water Gun and used Double Kick. He leaped towards Arianna and hit her twice before bounding away.

Seth took out his Pokedex and looked at Arianna info. "Ah, so if you're going to try and dodge everything, dodge this! Disarming Voice!"

Arianna started singing, pinkish sound waves filled the air and buffeted Nidoran. However, Nidoran's poison typing made him take little damage, and he charged at Arianna.

"Now that you have witnessed our opening. It's time for the main part, Water Gun!"

The Nidoran was caught off guard and blasted into the side of the log. The Nidoran immediately got to his feet and rushed again, lowering his horn.

"I see you like to fight. Water Gun!"

The Nidoran dodged again and leapt forward at Arianna.

"Watch out for its Poison Sting! Use Pound!"

Arianna smacked the Nidoran with her flipper, causing it to recoil and instead hit her with Peck.

"Why do you learn Peck? Use Disarming Voice!"

The Nidoran was hit by the sound waves, but pulled through and tried using Double Kick. Arianna used Water Gun and forced him down to the ground.

"Alright. Go, pokéball!"

He threw his pokéball at the Nidoran. He managed not to miss this time and it was sucked into the pokéball. The ball shook twice and the Nidoran was caught.

"Great! That was easy." Seth sent out his Nidoran. The Pokémon stared at him and moved off to sleep.

"Well, you like sleeping. But I know you have potential. I'm going to call you Champ."

"That's nice and all, but where are you going to get a Moon Stone?" asked Theo.

"Somewhere."

Zeke's Group

"Dodge it Gahoole!"

Zeke's Rowlett flapped his wings and flew away from a large tongue belonging to a Lickitung. The tongue slurped back as Gahoole attacked with Leafage. The move not doing much.

The tongue came again and lashed at Gahoole, moving with incredible speed. It hit Gahoole and sent him rolling.

"Hmm, this Pokémon is very strong," Zeke said to himself as he pulled out his pokedex. "And a few levels higher too."

The tongue came again, causing Gahoole to tuck in his feet and roll to the side as it came for a dangerous blow. Gahoole sprang up just in time to dodge another hit.

"That tongue is insanely fast as well. But it seems to only fight with its tongue. If I could incapacitate the tongue, I'd cripple the Pokémon."

He waited for the tongue to attack again. "Use, Leafage!"

Gahoole sent a flurry of leaves rushing towards the tongue. The Lickitung groaned in pain and recalled its tongue as the move hit. It lumbered towards Gahoole, unwilling to risk its beloved tongue.

"But that puts it at a disadvantage. Tackle!"

Gahoole tucked in his feet and rolled towards the Lickitung. He slammed into the Pokémon and bounced off its huge frame.

"Leafage!"

Gahoole opened his wings and fired razor sharp leaves. The move hit the Lickitung straight on, causing it to double over.

"Keep up the pressure!"

Gahoole used Leafage over and over again. By the time the Lickitung decided to risk its tongue, it was too weak.

The Lickitung groaned and lumbered off. Zeke let the Pokémon walk away.

"Great job Gahoole. Another battle won."

"You're not going to catch it?" asked Cyrus.

"Nah, doesn't seem like the right Pokémon for me."

"What about that Oricorio behind us?" asked Carolina.

Zeke whipped around surprised. Behind him was an Oricorio Pau that was mimicking his surprised expression. The Oricorio didn't move or run. It just stared at him with its expression.

"Well this will be an easy catch." he pulled out his pokéball and pulled back his arm. Only to freeze as he saw the Oricorio do the same thing.

"Okay, I see how it is," said Zeke as he raised his arm again. He threw the pokéball, only for it to dance out of the way. It used Revelation Dance and fired a blast of psychic energy past Zeke.

"Oh, so you want to battle?"

The Pokémon gave a nod. Zeke was surprised that the Oricorio wanted to test him like this.

"Well then, come on Gahoole. Let's show this Pokémon how we do it. Leafage!"

Gahoole flew forward and shot leaves at the Oricorio. She twirled around the leaves and used Gust, the move slamming into Gahoole and knocking him back.

"Hmm, the Oricorio has a slight advantage here. A super effective move against Gahoole, and it has a powerful signature move as well. Leafage won't do much due to its flying typing either." mused Zeke. "Use Tackle!"

Gahoole rushed at the Oricorio, only for the Pokémon to dance out of the way before he made contact.

"Wait a minute, watch out!"
Gahoole leaped to the side as the Oricorio used Revelation Dance. The move fortunately missed Gahoole as his trainer was able to warn him.

"Use Astonish!"

Gahoole ran up to Oricorio, but the Pokémon evaded him with a twirl. She sent another Gust at Gahoole. Gahoole flipped over and struggled to his feet.

"That Pokémon is good at dodging, but I see a pattern. Use Leafage!"

Gahoole fired the move again. The Oricorio dodged the move again.

"Now dodge!"

Gahoole dodged right when the Oricorio readied another Revelation Dance. The move missed Gahoole, but Gahoole missed another Leafage.

"Don't give up! Use Leafage again. Aim to the right!"

Gahoole heeded his trainer's advice and fired to the right of the Oricorio. Zeke had noticed that the Pokémon usually danced to the right, and the Oricorio unintentionally danced into the path of the leaves.

The move didn't do much except to stun her, but that was the purpose. Wasting no time he used Astonish. A black shade with evil eyes in the shape of Gahoole enveloped the Oricorio. Rowlett charged forward and slammed it with Tackle.

"Alright, I'm not stretching this battle any longer. Go pokéball!"

He threw his pokéball at the Oricorio. Only for her to dance gracefully out of its path.

"I'm going to need a distraction. Gahoole, Leafage, to the left!"

As predicted, the Oricorio moved in the opposite direction. The leaves swarmed around her as Zeke threw his pokéball. He hit with pinpoint accuracy and caught the Pokémon.

"Now I'd give that a ten!"

He returned Gahoole to his pokéball, commending him on his good work and picked up the Oricorio's pokéball.

"I'm going to call you Abba."

"Nice name," said Carolina.

"Hey I'm wondering. If the Oricorio live around here, there might be some nectar. Then we could change her form. Imagine the pom-pom form against the water gym," said Zeke.

"Now that would be a treat."

Aaron's group

Aaron grabbed the last handhold and pulled himself up, he was sweating buckets from the long climb. His team was doing no better. He gave a subtle glare at the Roto Drone that was recording him, an eerie smile plastered on its face as it silently laughed at his struggle.

Clara and Thomas made it up a few minutes later. They looked at the large cave system sprawling out into the cliff.

"Can't wait to explore that. But it's getting dark. Let's set up camp and stay here until tomorrow," said Thomas.

"Sounds like a plan. I wonder what Pokémon we'll see tomorrow," said Aaron.

"That's a wrap. Good job, you didn't screw it up." burst in the Roto Drone suddenly.

"Oh thanks. I'm so touched," said Clara rolling her eyes.

"I have a quick question," said Aaron. "You and Brad have been recording for a long time, and there are other stars too. What happens with the footage?"

"Good question. At the end of the day, all eight of us, camera people and drones, send our footage to the studio. Then they edit all the footage, add special effects, and then broadcast it on TV."

"Okay thanks. What will happen to Brad?"

"I suppose he'll just wait around."

"Ah okay."

They waited around while Thomas got the sleeping bags out and a fire started. He cooked some food while they set the eating spread. They all sent out their Pokémon once food was set.

Out came a Chespin, Hoothoot, Pachurisu, and Roggenrola, who didn't need to eat but was there anyway.

They soon ate, with Chespin eating the most out of all Pokémon. He was eventually kept from the meal since he wouldn't stop eating.

"Well, goodnight everyone," said Aaron as he settled into his sleeping bag.

They all responded with good night. Aaron couldn't help but think about Brad. Thomas had thrown a sleeping bag down the cliff and flashed a light to let Brad know, but Aaron could just help but think about Brad being down there, separated from the team.

He assured himself he was fine and instead thought about his amazing first day of being a movie star.

And that's the first actual chapter. I hope y'all enjoyed it. Sorry about the time it took. As I mentioned, update time will be longer. And I have stopped posting story updates on my profile FYI
