Danny stood at the entrance to his wife's hospital room for a moment as he could hear that she was in the middle of a contraction, and he didn't want to distract her. When he heard Vicky's breathing even out, he drew back the curtain and rushed to her side.

"Oh, Danny, thank God!"

"Hi, Sweetheart!" He leaned in to give her a kiss and then perched himself next to her on the bed. "How's it going?" he asked, giving her hand a squeeze.

"I'm okay," Vicky replied. "A lot better now that you're here! Mom, could you give us a minute?"

"Of course, Dear. I'll go get you some more ice," said Liz. She took the pitcher from the tray table next to Vicky's bed and left the room.

Once Liz was gone, Danny gently reprimanded his wife. "Vicky, why didn't you tell me this morning what was going on?"

"Because I didn't want to worry you in case it turned out to be nothing!" Vicky explained. "I've never done this before, Danny. How was I supposed to know if it was really labor or not?"

"But if you had told me this morning, at least I could have stayed with you!"

"And you would have missed your interview with Michael Jordan," Vicky pointed out.

"Yeah, well, it would have been worth it!"

Vicky narrowed her eyes. "Really, Danny? It would have been worth missing the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interview an NBA all-star to watch your wife cry out helplessly in pain every five minutes for hours on end?"

"Absolutely!"

Vicky glared at Danny in disbelief.

"Once the baby actually got here," Danny admitted.

Vicky laughed and elbowed her husband in the ribs. "So, what was Michael Jordan like? Was the interview everything you dreamed it would be?"

"Oh, Vicky, it was incredible!" Danny gushed. He stood up and walked around to the foot of the bed. "There I was, in the back of Michael Jordan's car, talking to him about his career! And he was the nicest guy, too. So humble, so generous!"

Danny paced back and forth at his wife's bedside as he continued to pour out accolades for the famed basketball player. His signature ramblings were interrupted, however, when she let out a small whimper. Danny glanced at the monitor next to the bed and, seeing that the line measuring Vicky's contractions was steadily rising, he hurried back over to her side.

"That's right, Honey. Take a deep breath," Danny coached her in a low and soothing tone. "That's it. You're doing great."

He kissed her softly on the forehead and she leaned in to him, tightening her grip on his hand. Danny watched as the line on the monitor came to a peak and then slowly declined.

"Okay, the worst part's over, Sweetheart! Just keep breathing, alright?"

Vicky nodded and let out a huge sigh as the line on the monitor flattened.

"Boy, that was a big one!" Danny said as he looked at the monitor.

"Gee, I hadn't noticed!" Vicky quipped.

Danny smiled sheepishly and gave his wife an apologetic kiss. He repositioned himself so he sat facing her on the bed.

"Vicky, you're doing a great job. Andy will be here before you know it!"

"I'll believe it when I see it!" Vicky stretched one arm out and wrapped it around the back of her head, reclining back onto her pillow.

"I can't believe we're actually doing this," Danny mused. "I'm still not quite sure how this happened!"

"How what happened?"

"How that happened!" Danny gestured to her stomach.

"Oh, that! Well, Danny, I would explain it to you but since you've had three kids already, I feel like that would be a little insulting, don't you?"

Danny scoffed. "I know how it happened. I meant, you know, when."

"Ah," said Vicky. "Well, let me think. I guess it would have to have been the morning after Thanksgiving. Becky and the grandmas took the girls Black Friday shopping. Jesse and Joey were keeping the twins occupied, and I kept you occupied." Vicky smirked and poked Danny's nose.

"Oh, that's right! You almost missed your flight back to Chicago!"

"That I did."

"Vicky! How's our little mother-to-be?" Dr. Kent chirped as she drew back the curtain.

"Oh, hanging in there!" Vicky replied with a weak smile.

Dr. Kent nodded. "Well, it's still early so it might be a while yet. Do you mind if I take a look and see how things are progressing?"

Vicky nodded.

"Well, you made it to four centimeters so you're off to a great start! Just keep focusing on your breathing and I'll be back in a little while to see how things are going, okay?"

"I will. Thank you!"

Dr. Kent gave Vicky an encouraging smile and shook Danny's hand before leaving the room.

"Welcome back to We Love Our Children Telethon '94! I'm your host, Rebecca Donaldson-Katsopolis. As we head into our fifth hour, let's take another look at our grand total!"

Becky gestured to the board where the numbers rolled over to reveal a new total.

"168,000 dollars! That is amazing! Thank you to all of you out there who have donated so far. But we still have a long way to go to reach our goal of raising one million dollars for the children's hospital, so keep the donations coming! Our volunteers are waiting eagerly by the phones and ready to take your calls. And now, for our next act! Please welcome JoJo the Clown!"

"I can't believe I let you rope me into answering phones for some dumb telethon while this weirdo makes giraffes out of balloons!" Aaron complained. "Who would donate money for that?"

Right on cue, Aaron's phone rang, and he huffed and rolled his eyes before answering.

"At least you actually get to perform in the telethon later," Michelle reminded him. "I'm just stuck here answering the phones!" She pouted and folded her arms across her chest.

Noticing Michelle from across the stage, JoJo pointed to her frown and then gestured to his own painted-on smile, encouraging her to follow suit.

"In your dreams, JoJo!"

Michelle's snippy attitude only egged the clown on further as he came over to grab her from her seat and pull her up to join him onstage. He used his thumbs to force the corners of her lips upward into a smile and then handed her the balloon giraffe. He then pulled a second red nose out of his pocket and placed it on Michelle's face. Michelle glanced back in humiliation at her friends, who were now laughing hysterically at JoJo's antics.

"At least I get to be on TV," she muttered to herself.

At that point, JoJo the Clown broke into a jig, dancing to the beat of the circus music in the background. He held out his hand for Michelle to join him.

"Why not?" Michelle shrugged and took the clown's hand.

Michelle struggled to follow JoJo's complex dance steps, and eventually she let out a small giggle when she tripped over the clown's oversized shoes. JoJo smiled proudly and pointed at Michelle as if to say, "Gotcha!"

When the song ended, Michelle and JoJo the Clown took a grand bow and gestured back over to Jesse and the Rippers to transition to the next segment. Michelle turned to go back to her seat when JoJo tapped her on the shoulder.

"What now, JoJo?" she asked, exasperated.

Michelle's annoyance quickly turned to surprise when the clown started speaking in the voice of a familiar cartoon bull, with his hands up to his ears for antlers.

"I heard my good friend, Michelle, was sad about not getting to be in the telethon, so I wanted to see if I could cheer her up." Joey put his hands down and went back to his normal voice. "Michelle, I know you're disappointed not to be performing in the telethon, but I'm really proud of you for being a good sport and coming to help answer the phones anyway. I know the idea of getting to be on TV is cool and all, and when all your friends get to do it and you don't, you might feel left out, but it's important to remember that the real reason we're here is to help kids in need."

Michelle nodded. "I know. Thanks, Joey!" She reached over and honked Joey's red clown nose and Joey returned the favor, making both of them laugh.

"Joseph, we have a problem!" Jesse jogged over to them, slightly out of breath. "One of the twins got sick so Becky had to run home. You're gonna have to fill in for her because I need to rehearse my next number with the band."

"Jess, are you crazy? I can't host the telethon looking like this!"

"I'll do it!" Michelle quickly volunteered.

Jesse and Joey shared a concerned look.

"C'mon, Uncle Jesse! I've been watching Dad host Wake Up, San Francisco my whole life. How hard can it be? Pretty please?" she begged, giving her uncle her saddest-looking puppy dog eyes.

"Oh, not the puppy dog face!" Jesse groaned. "Alright, fine! While Joey goes to change clothes, you can host the next segment. Now, hurry! We're back on in thirty seconds!" Jesse ushered his niece back to center stage and whispered a few quick instructions in her ear before handing her a microphone and running off camera.

"Welcome back, San Francisco! I'm Michelle Tanner."

As Michelle continued the spiel her uncle had given her to introduce the next guest, Mr. Strowbridge walked up to Jesse.

"Why is a seven-year-old hosting my telethon?!"

"Well, Sir, you've got to admit she's a lot better at it than when she was three! At least she's mastered the alphabet!"

Jesse chuckled nervously hoping to lighten the mood, but Mr. Strowbridge wasn't fazed.

"First, Tanner's wife goes into labor, and now this?! Where on Earth is Rebecca?"

"Listen, Mr. Strowbridge, Becky had to run home to deal with a family emergency. She's coming back as soon as she can. Our good friend, Joey, is going to fill in for her but he needed a wardrobe change, so Michelle is helping us out. It's only for this segment, alright? And look at her. She's doing a great job!"

Jesse pointed to the stage where Michelle was in the middle of interviewing local baker and business owner, Jim Holcroft.

"Now, Mr. Holcroft, I hear that you can make anything or anyone imaginable into a cake. Is that true?" Michelle asked.

"Absolutely! Who's your favorite Disney princess, Sweetie?"

"Ariel," Michelle replied.

"Check this out!" Jim pulled a photo from his pocket of an elaborate underwater castle cake surrounded by mermaids and fish.

Michelle's eyes widened, and she gasped with excitement. "Wow, that's amazing! Can you make me a cake for my next birthday? It's in November."

Jim laughed. "Of course, Sweetie!" He knelt down and patted Michelle's head.

Michelle frowned slightly at her guest's patronization but quickly moved on.

"I understand you've brought some cakes with you that you've made especially for the telethon," she said. "Can you show us?"

"That's right. Take a look at these!" Jim walked over to the table behind them and removed a white sheet to reveal a three-dimensional Golden Gate Bridge cake, as well as a miniature cake version of the Wake Up, San Francisco set, complete with a miniature Danny and Becky.

"Whoa, Baby!" Michelle cried. "How did you do that?"

"Lots of hard work and years of practice," Jim told her.

"So what flavor is the cake?" asked Michelle.

Jim grinned. "Why don't you taste it and find out?"

He cut the tiniest sliver off the corner of the Golden Gate Bridge and handed it to Michelle on a plate. Michelle eagerly took the plate and shoved a forkful of cake into her mouth.

"Mmm, chocolate!" she exclaimed, her mouth still half-full.

"Actually, it's double chocolate fudge," Jim corrected her with a satisfied smile.

"Well, it's delicious!" Michelle replied.

As she glanced off-camera, she noticed that her uncle was motioning for her to wrap up the segment and cut to a commercial.

"Well, it's almost time to go to a commercial, but first, let's check out our grand total!"

The numbers rolled over again to reveal a new total of 225,000 dollars.

"Wow! Keep the donations coming, people! If you'd like to donate to a great cause, be sure to call the number on your screen!" Michelle grinned confidently, staring into the camera for a few seconds longer than necessary.

"Thank you to Jim Holcroft for these beautiful and delicious cakes. Now, here's a word from our sponsors!"

Back at the hospital, Danny had been watching the whole scenario unfold on TV.

"Oh, Mr. Strowbridge is gonna kill me!" he groaned. "Or at least fire me. At this point, I'm not sure which would be worse!"

The phone next to Vicky's bed rang, and Danny jumped up to answer it.

"Hello, this is Danny Tanner! Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Really?! She did? That's incredible! Oh, I will. Thank you!"

"What was that all about?" Vicky asked once Danny hung up the phone.

"That was Mr. Strowbridge. He said the phones are ringing off the hook with people calling in to donate, and they all love Michelle!"

"Well, I don't blame them," said Vicky. "She is pretty adorable. And that cake looked really good!"

Danny smiled. "I'll call Jesse later and tell him to save some for us." He brushed Vicky's hair back and kissed her on the forehead.

"You're so good to me." She gave him a hazy smile in return, the exhaustion from the morning's events showing in her eyes.

Danny handed her the cup of ice chips from her bedside table.

"You should finish these. Remember what the Lamaze coach said: Being in labor is like running a marathon. You need to stay hydrated to keep your strength up!"

Vicky laughed. "I'll take 'Ways to Say I Love You' for $1000, Alex!" She then did as her husband instructed and downed the rest of her ice chips, turning the cup upside down to get the melted water droplets from the bottom.

As the day wore on, any hint of even a tired smile vanished from Vicky's face as the contractions grew more intense and more frequent. Her face was shiny, and her hair was completely disheveled and moistened with sweat. Danny was making every effort to console his wife and try to keep her relaxed, but she continued to push him away.

"It's okay, Honey. You're doing great! Keep breathing," he tried, gently dabbing her face with a cool washcloth.

Vicky glared back at Danny, her teeth clenched and her knuckles turning white as she tightened her grip on the bed railing.

"I am breathing, Sweetheart!" she hissed.

"Okay, Vicky, come on! Focus!" Liz ordered from the other side of her daughter's bed. She noticed the wounded look in her helpless son-in-law's eyes and offered him a quick sympathetic smile to reassure him.

When the contraction passed, Vicky turned back to Danny.

"I'm so sorry I snapped at you," she apologized. "It just hurts so bad! I've been at this all day, Danny. I don't know how much longer I can do this!"

"Vicky, you don't have to apologize for anything! You're having our baby. I wish I could do more to help you, but if me doing my part in this whole thing means taking a few insults, then so be it! You can call me every name in the book if it helps you feel better."

"I didn't call you any names, did I?"

"Yeah. When I offered you more ice chips a little while ago, you called me the Abominable Snowman," he informed her with a chuckle.

"Oops. Sorry!" Vicky cringed, but she couldn't help the small giggle that managed to escape.

Danny simply smiled and gave his wife a quick kiss.

"Shall we take another look and see how things are moving along?" Dr. Kent asked.

Danny and Vicky nodded eagerly.

"Oh my!" Dr. Kent gasped.

A concerned Danny switched into panic mode. "What? Is everything okay?"

"Oh, it's more than okay! Vicky, I think you're ready to go into the delivery room!"

Danny and Vicky grinned at each other, the looks on their faces a combination of joy, relief, and anxiety.

"This is it, Honey!" Danny exclaimed.

"It's about time!"

"Let's give it up once again for Jesse & The Rippers!" Joey said. "We're in Hour 16 of the telethon, so let's check in with my lovely cohost, Michelle, for an update on that grand total!"

"Thanks, Joey! As you can see, we've managed to raise over 702,000 dollars for the children's hospital. We're almost there, people! Now, let's give a warm welcome to our next guest, my very good friend and yours, Denise Frazer!"

Becky appeared next to her husband at the side of the stage and tapped him on the shoulder. "How's it going?" she whispered.

"Beck, what are you doing back? Are the boys okay?"

"Yeah, they both fell asleep, so I called your mom over to stay with them. They'll be fine. How did everything go here?"

"Well, Michelle had a very successful debut as host when Joey had to change clothes, and then between me, Joey, and the girls, we've been managing things just fine!"

"You let Michelle host the telethon?!"

"And she did a darn good job at it! The producers even called Danny at the hospital to congratulate him because the ratings were so high!"

"Well, as long as the ratings are good, and we're raising money for the cause, I guess that's all that matters." Becky wrapped her arms around her husband's chest and brushed her lips against his cheek.

"Have mercy!"

"Jess, Becky, oh my God! You aren't gonna believe this!" Joey cried.

"What's the matter, Joey?"

"Nothing's the matter, Jess! Danny just called from the hospital. The baby's here!"

Jesse grinned and clapped his hands together. "Alright! Let's go get the girls and get outta here. Beck, are you going to be okay handling things here on your own for a bit?"

Becky nodded. "I'll take it from here! Tell Danny and Vicky congratulations for me!"

Jesse nodded and he and Joey ran over to the other side of the stage where all three girls were now back to answering the phones.

"Okay, girls. C'mon, we gotta go!" Jesse urged his nieces.

"Go where?" Michelle asked.

"Yeah, what about answering the phones?" Stephanie added.

"Forget about the phones, huh? Your dad just called from the hospital. It's time to go meet your baby brother!"

All three girls squealed and jumped up from their seats, then followed Jesse and Joey out to the car.

"Oh, Vicky, he's so perfect! He looks just like you!" Danny gushed as he admired the bundle in his arms wrapped in a baby blue knit blanket. "He has your big brown eyes. Your curly hair. Your cute little dimples!"

"Well, Danny, I hate to say this, but I'm pretty sure that's your nose!" Vicky teased.

Danny rolled his eyes, but still, he couldn't help but smile. "Okay, so nobody's perfect!" He handed the baby back to Vicky and sat down beside her on the bed.

"Vicky, I am so proud of you. You did an amazing job!"

"It was a long day, but it was so worth it." Vicky yawned and stretched out her free arm.

"Oh, I don't just mean today," said Danny. "You've been through so much this past year, what with the pregnancy and your new show, plus adjusting to living with us full-time, and then going on bed rest for three months. You've been through a lot this past year. You should be very proud of yourself, Honey!" Danny congratulated his wife.

"Well, thank you, Sweetheart!" Vicky said graciously. "But I think, all things considered, this accomplishment is my favorite." She smiled and turned her gaze back to the newborn in her arms who was fighting to stay awake after the treacherous ordeal of being born.

"Mine, too!" Danny rested his head on his wife's shoulder, and together they spent a few moments quietly admiring their new son.

Jesse and Joey cracked the door to the hospital room open just far enough to stick their heads in.

"Are you up for visitors?" Joey asked quietly.

Danny looked at Vicky and when she nodded affirmatively, he responded, "Sure! Send in the troops!"

Jesse, Joey, and the girls eagerly but quietly filed into the room.

"Everybody, I would like you to meet Andrew Jordan Tanner. 8 lbs., 4 oz., and twenty inches long!" Danny proudly announced to the group.

"A string bean just like his father!" Joey quipped.

"Gee, thanks, Joey!" Danny retorted.

"So you named the kid after Michael Jordan?" Jesse asked incredulously.

"Well, we wanted it to be a J name in honor of his two godfathers, but we figured if we only named him after one of you, it would start an argument, so we chose a different name entirely," Danny explained.

"Did you hear that, Joseph? We're godfathers!"

"Godfathers!"

Jesse and Joey happily embraced, and when they separated, Joey addressed Danny with his best Don Corleone impression.

"You've made us an offer we can't refuse!"

Danny chuckled as he handed Andy over to DJ.

"Hey, Andy," she said. "I'm your big sister, DJ! I may not be around as much while you're growing up, but I'll always be there for you if you need me. And, who knows? A few years from now, you could have lots of little nieces and nephews to play with!"

Danny shot his eldest daughter a warning glare.

"Years and years and years from now!" DJ promised as she passed the baby to Stephanie.

Once Stephanie and Michelle had a chance to hold their baby brother, he was handed over to his two godfathers.

"Andy, my man! It's your Uncle J! Okay, so you and I aren't technically related, but that doesn't mean squat in this family. Capisce?"

The newborn merely sneezed in response, causing the whole family to laugh.

"Oh man, your cousins are going to love having another little boy around! I can't wait until you're old enough to play with them. I can just picture the three of you running around the backyard tossing around the old pigskin! It's gonna be great!"

Finally, it was Joey's turn.

"Hi, Andy! I'm your pal, Joey. And, if things work out between me and your Aunt Wendy, maybe someday I'll be your Uncle Joey! But no matter what happens, even if I move really far away, I'll always be part of your life. Because that's what family is all about." Joey kissed the newborn's forehead and gave him back to Danny.

"Okay, girls, we better let your dad and Vicky get some rest," said Jesse. "Plus, you girls start school on Monday, so you need your sleep too!"

Danny kissed each of his girls goodbye and hugged Joey and Jesse before walking them out. Once they were gone, Danny picked up the baby and nestled him close to his chest.

"Okay, Andy! Are you ready for your very first bedtime story? Once upon a time, there was a handsome young lad named Daniel. And Daniel was named Bachelor of the Month!"

"Danny, don't you think he's a little young for that story?"

"What? it's one of Michelle's favorites! And look, I already put him to sleep!"

Vicky chuckled. "One of your many talents!"

"And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing, Sweetheart! Just finish the story," Vicky said with a yawn.

Vicky snuggled closer to Danny and listened as he continued the story of their first date until she, too, nodded off.
