Chapter 54

Well, hello everyone…I am really sorry for leaving you all hanging for more than 8 months. I never intended to quit writing for so long. I'm back at it again though, and I hope you're all still here with me! If you are, please let me know in the reviews! I need to know if I should keep this going. I do have a lot of the next chapter written. I've decided to finish the story at the end of season 6. I have a lot of fun ideas and really want to keep writing if you all still want to read :)

Also, I will be updating my other 2 stories as soon as I can. I do need some requests for my one shot series if you have any ideas! :)

Now, if you all remember I let you vote on how you wanted this chapter to go. You were able to choose whether to have Hanna wake up with Henry or with Emma. A lot of you also threw out a third option of having Hanna be an evil counterpart of herself. So, no spoilers…I wont give away what I decided to do. You'll have to read and find out :) Enjoy!

"He's gone!" Regina said as she walked into Granny's. "The Author is gone."

"What do you mean he's gone?" David said as he quickly stood up from the booth.

Snow stood beside her husband. "Regina, you told us you had gotten the author and the quill away from Gold. What happened?"

Regina filled them in on everything. She had taken the author and the quill away from Gold. His heart was too weak for him to fight her off. She was able to use Lily's blood to make the quill work. She had taken the author to where they were keeping Zelena. When Regina revealed that she wasn't going to have the author change anything, he didn't like that. He used the quill to write himself away to Gold's shop.

"So, he's writing whatever the crocodile wants right now?" Hook asked.

"It would appear so," Regina told him.

"We have to find a way to stop them," Emma said as she stood and headed towards the door.

They all went to the library to look through the empty storybooks. They hoped that what the author was writing would appear in one of them.

"Nothing," Regina said in frustration. "They're all still blank. Whatever the author is writing it's not appearing in the books. This is useless," she continued as she threw a book onto the floor.

"Easy," Robin told her. "This is not your fault."

"Even so, tomorrow, thanks to Gold and the author, I can wake up a talking frog."

"At least you'll wake up. I don't doubt whatever the Dark One has in store for me is a far worse fate." Killian said.

Hanna was just trying to take all of this in. Right now, this man was writing entire new life for all of them at the Rumplestiltskin's request. Hanna knew whatever their fate was, it wasn't going to be good. Where would she end up? What was going to happen to her family. Hanna looked up at her dad, who noticed the worry in her eyes.

David put his arm around Hanna. "Well there's no use speculating what he wants. We just need to stop it, and if there's nothing useful here, we need to move on. Find something else that can help."

"I might know just the thing."

Hanna looked up to find August walking into the room.

"August. I thought you didn't know anything more about the author?" David asked.

"He doesn't, but he knows someone who does," Emma said. "That's why I called him here."

"Who?" Snow asked.

"The man who gave him his power—the Apprentice. I met him once when I was living in Phuket." August explained. "He was the one who told me about the storybook and that I should learn everything about it."

"If he was in Storybrooke, could you find him?" David asked.

"Well I haven't seen him. But…" August pulled a piece of paper from pocket. "That's what he looks like." He held up a drawing.

"I know this man," Hook told them.

"You do?" Emma asked.

Killian nodded. "More importantly, I know exactly where to find him."

Hook told them all about how he trapped the Apprentice in the Sorcerer's hat while he was under Rumple's control. Luckily, Blue was able to help and free the Apprentice from the hat. He told them they needed to put Isaac back where he belonged—in the book. The Apprentice just needed the page with the painted door and the key.

Hanna went with her parents, Killian, and Henry to the loft to find the page, while Emma, Regina, and the Apprentice went to Gold's shop to try and stop the author.

"The page is hidden in the storybook," Henry said as they walked inside the loft. "Hanna come help me look upstairs."

Hanna followed Henry upstairs and into their bedroom. "Wasn't the book in your backpack? I swore that's where I saw it last."

"Yeah, I just…" Henry bent down to look under his bed. "Ugh, I can never remember where I put that stupid thing."

Hanna continued to look around when the room started to shake. "Henry!" There were bright lights flashing outside. "It's happening! We're too late!"

Hanna groaned. All she wanted to do was sleep, but the sun was shining so bright in her eyes. She rolled herself over and opened them. That's when she saw something in the middle of the room…something that wasn't there last night when she went to sleep. Hanna quickly sat up to get a better look. At first, Hanna thought it was just a pile of fabric, but then she could see the blonde hair. It was a woman.

Hanna carefully climbed off of her bed and slowly inched her way closer. Hanna wondered if the woman was alive and how she missed someone being brought in during the night. She was typically a very light sleeper. Hanna slowly reached her hand out to give the woman a nudge when, suddenly, the woman jumped up from the ground to her feet and started to scream.

Hanna quickly jumped back and covered her ears. She just stood back and watched her. The woman hadn't seen her yet. She looked deranged and Hanna was thankful that she was in chains. Hanna waited for a few minutes for the screaming to stop, but it didn't. Okay, this is getting ridiculous.

"Hey!" Hanna shouted at the woman. That immediately got her attention, and she was instantly quiet. Hanna watched as she slowly turned around, and then was confused when a big smile appeared on her face. This woman is definitely crazy.

"Hanna!"

Hanna slowly removed her hands from her ears. "How…how do you know my name?" Great, the crazy lady knows who I am.

"It's me, Emma. You don't remember?"

Hanna just raised her eyebrows.

"Damn it. He must have cursed you."

Hanna shook her head in confusion. "Cursed?" Yup, she's definitely crazy. I knew it.

"The author," Emma continued to explain. "He rewrote all of our stories."

Hanna watched as Emma put her head down and began mumbling to herself.

"This must be my curse. I remember everything, but I'm powerless to stop any of it. But what about Henry…would he be here? He wasn't born here…could the author have sent him back here? Or is he back in Storybrooke. All alone? No. No. Where is he?" Emma snapped her head up and looked at Hanna. "Is Henry here? Have you seen him?"

"I don't know anyone named Henry. And I'm pretty sure you're insane. I don't even know why they locked you in here with me." Hanna walked over to the door and looked through the key hole. "Maybe if I can get the guard up here she can move you or…"

"They? Who's they? Who locked us in here?" Emma asked.

Hanna turned and raised her eyebrows. "You don't know who captured you and put you in here last night?"

"I wasn't captured. I told you it was the curse. I'm here because Isaac wrote it that way."

"Oh yeah right…" Hanna rolled her eyes. "You're here because of a curse…I forgot."

"Hanna. Just answer me. Who locked us in here?"

"Do you honestly have to ask that question?"

"Yes. Hanna I do. Now, just tell me!" Emma pulled at her chains.

Hanna just smirked. Maybe she wouldn't tell her. Hanna found it amusing and wanted to see just how mad she could make this Emma.

Hanna continued to grin. "Why should I tell you anything?"

"Please," Emma begged. "I need your help."

Hanna shrugged. "Maybe I don't want to help you."

"Oh, come on. Just tell me who did this."

"No," Hanna said moving closer to Emma, but still just far away enough that her new cellmate couldn't reach her.

Emma closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Why won't you tell me?" she asked through gritted teeth.

"Because I think it's funny how mad you're getting right now," Hanna said with a laugh. "Your face is getting so red."

"This isn't funny, Hanna. We need to get out of here and fix this."

Hanna could tell Emma was being completely serious about all of this. "You mean fix a curse?"

"Yes. Isaac did this. He did all of this to us. Who knows what he did with the rest of our family, but we have to find out. We have to save them and get everything back to normal," Emma explained.

"So this…" Hanna said, looking all around her. "Isn't real?"

Emma shook her head. "No. Our family is out there. My son, who's your best friend, our baby brother, our mom and dad…"

Hanna turned her head to the side, giving Emma a questioning look. "Our mom and dad? So does that mean we're…"

"Sisters. Yes," Emma nodded her head and smiled.

"And I have a mom and dad?" Hanna asked, sounding hopeful.

"You do, and they are amazing parents." Emma grinned. "And our baby brother is the cutest, and he adores you."

"Wow, that's just…" Hanna shook her head.

"Pretty amazing, right?"

Hanna nodded her head.

"So are you going to help me?" Emma lifted her chains up towards Hanna. "Get me out of these, and tell me who's behind all of this so we can find a way out of here and back to our family."

Hanna looked up at Emma, but said nothing.

"Come on Han," Emma said with a smile.

"Nah, I'm not going to help you." Hanna walked back over to her bed.

"What?" Emma asked in disbelief.

"I really had you going there for a second, didn't I?" Hanna laughed as she placed her hands behind her head and laid back.

Emma was losing patience with her little sister right now. "Hanna! Damn it! Who locked us in here?"

Hanna just smiled. "I'm. Not. Telling."

The next thing Hanna knew the deranged lady was screaming again. Hanna quickly sat up. "Would you be quiet!" Hanna didn't want the guard to hear. Hanna saw what happened when she got mad, and it wasn't something she wanted to see again.

Hanna got up out of bed and went back over to Emma.

"Alright, alright! Calm down, crazy. I'll tell you." Emma quieted down and Hanna continued. "It was Snow White and her little henchmen."

"Mom did this?" Emma asked eyes wide with shock. "He must have made her evil in this world."

Hanna just rolled her eyes as Emma continued to spout her nonsense.

"Hanna, listen to me." Emma looked directly into her sister's eyes and walked as close to her as she could. "We have to find a way out of here."

Hanna took a step back and threw her hands up in the air. "Well, what the hell do you think I've been doing since I was thrown in here? Taking naps and singing songs? There's no way out. The only thing I was able to do was get myself out of my chains."

"How did you do that?"

Hanna shrugged. "Used one of my hair pins and picked the lock."

"Do you still have it? You can get me out of these, and I'll figure out a way for us to escape."

"We won't be able to escape. This place is guarded," Hanna told her.

Emma wasn't worried about that. "We can take out a few guards."

"No, it's one guard, and she can turn into a dragon. I don't really feel much like getting burnt to a crisp today thank you very much."

"A dragon? Lily? She's the guard?" Emma asked.

"How am I suppose to know what her name is? All I know is that she has brown hair. I saw it under her helmet."

"It's Lily. We're going to have to be careful. I know her."

Hanna rolled her eyes. "Yeah, right. Just like you claim to know me too?"

"I do know you, and you'll remember soon enough. Now just get me out of these, please?"

Hanna thought about it for a minute. She was dying to get out of here. She had lost track of how long it had been since Snow White captured her. Hanna wasn't sure if she could trust Emma or not. She seemed pretty desperate to get out of here too though.

"Aright, fine. I'll do it if you take this cuff off of me."

"Deal," Emma agreed. "Did she put that on you too?"

"Yeah, first thing she did when she captured me. Now hold still." Hanna went to work on the lock. This one was a little trickier than the ones she was use to.

"Gee, I wonder who taught you how to do that?" Emma asked with a grin as Hanna picked the lock.

"Nobody you know," Hanna said with a roll of her eyes.

"It was me, Hanna. I taught you how to pick locks. You just don't remember."

Hanna just raised her eyebrows. "Someone has taught me all kinds of neat tricks, and I can assure you that it wasn't you."

"Yeah? Who was it then?" Emma was curious now.

"Don't worry about it. I almost got it…." Hanna turned the hair pin one more time. "There. You're free." Hanna reached out her arm. "Now, get this cuff off of me before…"

Hanna stopped when she heard the door start to open. What if Snow White was coming back? Or the dragon lady? But when the door opened, it was just a boy. Hanna thought he looked to be about her age.

"Hi, my name is…" the boy started to say.

"Henry." Emma said with a smile and a sigh of relief.

"Mom?"

"Henry."

"You…you remember."

"I knew you'd find me," Emma reached out and hugged her son.

Henry then turned to Hanna and wrapped his arms around her. "You're here too! I knew you'd be here with my mom."

"What are you doing?" Hanna wiggled out of his grasp and pushed him to the ground. "Don't touch me!"

"Okay…I guess I should have checked that you had your memories first." Henry looked up at his mom. "I don't understand. How do you remember when no one else does?

Emma reached down to help him from the ground. "Must have been part of Gold's plan. My punishment in this world is that I know the truth, but I'm powerless to do anything about it. In this world I'm no longer the Savior. I've got no magic."

"That's alright. I think I know what to do. I found my other mom."

"You found Regina?" Emma asked.

"Regina?" Hanna asked curiously.

Henry turned to Hanna. "You know her?"

Hanna shrugged. "Yeah I see her around sometimes."

"So, what's the plan, kid?" Emma asked Henry.

"She has to find her true love. We have to stop Robin Hood's wedding. She has to kiss him. True love's kiss can fix anything."

Hanna shook her head. "You think Robin Hood is Regina's true love? He's her biggest competition. She would never love him."

"They're true loves in our world," Henry told Hanna. He turned back to Emma. "Come on, Mom. We have to hurry. We only have until sundown."

"What about the guard? How did you even get past her anyways?" Hanna asked.

"I knocked her out," Henry said with a shrug.

"I highly doubt you did that all by yourself," Hanna said with a raise of her eyebrows.

"I had help. Now do you want to get out of here or not?"

"Well, it's not like I wanna stay in here forever, stupid," Hanna said as she pushed past Henry towards the door.

Emma sighed. "Come on, kid. We better hurry."

They quickly made their way out of the tower and towards the boat.

"How did you get Blackbeard's ship?" Hanna asked as she ran on board.

"We stole it," Henry said with a grin. "Right, Killian?"

"Aye," Killian said with a slight nod of his head.

Hanna started to laugh. "You brought Deckhand Hook? He's the biggest coward around!"

"Hanna stop it," Emma said as she gave her sister a nudge, then turned back to Hook. "Thank you for your help, Killian."

"Uh, yeah, of course. I'm pleased you regained, uh your freedom."

"Me too."

"Unfortunately it's not gonna last long if we don't get out of here before that guard wakes up," Hanna said in frustration.

"Why?" Killian asked.

"Because that was not any ordinary black knight," Emma told him. "Her name is Lily. She's dangerous."

Killian looked confused. "I don't understand. What's the problem with this Lily?"

"She's a dragon, you idiot, now make this thing go faster," Hanna demanded just as a loud screeching sound bellowed out over the water. Everyone turned to see the dragon bursting out of the tower.

"Henry, Hanna get below deck. Now!" Emma called out.

"No!" Hanna yelled as Henry did what his mother told him.

"Hanna just go we can handle it."

Hanna let out a groan. "Just take this cuff off of me and I'll handle her!"

"No, just go below with Henry. You're just learning how to use your magic you won't be able to handle her," Emma shouted over the screeching.

"I can use my magic just fine, and I'm not going anywhere," Hanna stared Emma down and held out her hand for Emma to remove the stupid thing that was preventing her from using her magic.

"Damn it, Hanna. I'm not taking your cuff off."

"Well, I'm not going down there!"

"We don't have time for this. Killian, I need you to load the cannon with a chain shot. Come on! Now!" Emma yelled.

Killian did what Emma said. Hanna just stood back and waited to see if Emma's plan would work.

"Hold your fire 'til I tell you! Lily over here! Hey! Come on, Lily! Come on!" Emma yelled, trying to get her attention. "Now!" Emma ducked and Hook fired the cannon.

Hanna watched as the dragon fell into the water. She turned to Emma and the pirate. "You know we could have solved this a lot faster if you'd just taken this damn thing off and let me use my magic."

"Hanna I really don't think your magic is strong enough…"

"What the hell do you know? We had a deal. I got you out of the chains, so take this cuff off of me now!" Hanna practically shoved her wrist in Emma's face.

"Mom, don't do it!" Henry yelled as he ran up from below. "We can't take that off of her."

"Why don't you just shut up and mind your own business!" Hanna turned and pushed Henry against the side of the ship.

"Hanna!" Emma pulled her off of Henry. "Geez, calm down."

"Don't tell me to calm down! We had a deal!" Hanna screamed.

"Our deal was that I'd take it off, but I didn't say when. Stay with us until sundown, and I promise I will take it off then," Emma told her.

"Or I could just leave and get someone else to take this thing off," Hanna said with a raise of her eyebrows.

Emma nodded. "True, but what if Mom…I mean Snow White finds you first?"

Hanna rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything. The crazy lady had a point. Without her magic she couldn't protect herself, and who knows how long it would take to find someone to take the cuff off.

"We'll protect you and at sundown I promise I'll take the cuff off."

"You promise?"

"I do," Emma answered with a smile.

"Ugh! Fine…" Hanna stomped off to the edge of the boat. She wasn't happy with this agreement, but she'd settle…at least for the moment. Right now, all she cared about was getting off this ship and getting some damn food.

So as you can see, Hanna waking up with Emma won, but there was an equal amount of people asking to have Hanna be an evil counterpart. So I did my best to do both! I don't think I write "evil" very well, she might just be more grumpy lol, but I tried my best! :)
