Years ago, a woman with brown hair and forest green eyes washed up on the shores of Hunter Island. Her clothes were torn and wet from the sea. Her skin was a deadly pale from dehydration and malnourishment. All she had of her family was a small silver necklace that hung around her neck as a remind her of her family. As the blazing sun beamed down on her, she collapsed from hunger, in her mind she was praying to the gods that a miracle would happen.

Suddenly, the woman woke up in a soft bed, there were bandages wrapped around her head and her left leg. She heard a voice whispering to her, asking her if she was ok. She turned around to face the strange man, sitting beside her. "My name is Viggo. I'm the one who found you. Where's your family?" The man spoke.

"My name is Valka. I have no family. My village was destroyed, my people were slaughtered, I'm the only survivor." The woman said, hoarsely.

After weeks of healing, Viggo allowed Valka to stay on the island with him as his guest. The only person on the island that didn't like Valka on the island was Viggo's brother Ryker. He hated Valka with a revenged, but Viggo seemed to have fallen in love with her. Viggo couldn't keep his eyes off Valka, she was smart, beautiful and had the purest heart than anyone.

One day when Valka had gone down to the beach to get away from the village, she spotted Viggo with flowers in his hands. He gave her the flowers and shyly asked if Valka would go on a date with him. She had fallen in love with Viggo the first day they had meet. So she said yes to Viggo and even kissed him on the cheek to seal the promise. The night the two had their first date was the night that changed their lives for the better.

Days turned to weeks, weeks turned into months, and months had turned in years. For two years Viggo had been with Valka, for two years Valka had called Hunter Island her home. Viggo became the new leader of the hunters while Ryker leads the army. Now came Viggo's greatest challenge of all, his wedding day. A few nights ago, Viggo had proposed to Valka to be his queen and his wife.

The wedding went off without any problems whatsoever. A few months later, the gods had blessed both Valka and Viggo with a child. The whole tribe would send gifts for the new born heir. Viggo made a promise to Valka that he would do everything in his power to protect their unborn child. But like all good things, they must come to an end.

A war between a mystery tribe and the Hunters have been going on. No one knew how this tribe found the island, but they are ruthless and slaughtered everything in their path. Viggo had ordered to have most of the village evacuated in case they could not win. But his plans changed when Valka went into labor. He had Ryker lead the army to fight the mysterious tribe, he needed to be with his wife.

Most of the midwives were running around like crazy, preparing for the heirs arrival. Viggo gripped Valka's hand tightly as she screamed in pain. "I can't have the baby now!" She screamed.

"Guess the baby had other plans." Viggo said.

Soon after all the screaming and pain, a healthy baby boy was born. The midwife stated that the baby was a runt and might not survive. But Viggo didn't care, this was his child and he would love him no matter what. The midwife wrapped the baby in a blanket and handed him over to Valka. The baby had Valka's skin tone, eyes, and hair color. But he had Viggo's nose and bright smile in him "He's beautiful. Like you, my shining flower." Viggo spoke to Valka the kissed her head.

However, the leader of the mystery tribe snuck into the hut, he saw the baby and tried to kill the baby and Valka. Viggo blocked the attack but the leader knocked him out cold. Instead of killing them, the leader took Valka and the baby with him back to his island. Valka begged the man to release her and her boy. but the man threatened her to be his wife if she wants her child to live. If not, then the baby would be sent the killing arena and be killed by a dragon.

She agreed to marry him, but not for her sake, just for her son. The leader made Valka swear that she would never tell her child the truth or else. Valka had no choice, she took the deal and then she cried for hours. The night of the forced wedding, Valka had prayed to the gods that Viggo would find her and their child.

But that would never happened. A year later, a four winged dragon took her away from her boy. Trader Johann traveled to Hunters Island to deliver the news to Viggo. He told Viggo that Valka was killed along with his son. All that was left of them was a drawing that Valka had made of the three of them. Now Hiccup was all alone without his real parents. And Viggo, he was broken with out his family.

Or so he thought.
