Chapter 29 - Parents' Blessing
Brandon and Kelly have had a wonderful and very memorable day together.
The next day, Brandon woke up with a big smile on his face. He turned to Kelly's side of the bed to see that she's already gone. He then hears a distant sound of someone in the shower. He takes a look at the clock and realizes it's time to get ready for work.
As soon as he gets up from the bed, Brandon's cell phone rings and he picked it up.
"Hello?" asked Brandon.
"Hi Brandon," replied Cindy.
"Hey mom. How are you?" asked Brandon.
"I'm fine. Eh, have you spoken to Brenda lately?" asked Cindy.
"No. All I know is that Dylan told me that she went to China," replied Brandon.
"China? But why?" asked Cindy.
"Mom, I really don't know. I left her a few messages too. She hasn't called back," replied Brandon.
"I'm getting worried. I just thought that she was still traveling with Dylan," said Cindy.
"No, I saw Dylan a few weeks ago. He just told me that she went to China by herself," said Brandon.
"Should we call somebody about this?" asked Cindy who starts to panic.
"Mom, she's old enough to take care of herself. I'm sure she's fine," replied Brandon.
"I guess you're right. If you hear from her, please give me a call," said Cindy.
"I will," said Brandon.
"How's dad?" asked Brandon.
"Your father's fine. He's just eating breakfast. How's Kelly and Sammy doing?" asked Cindy.
"They're fine. In fact I got some news for you," replied Brandon.
"Oh, I hope it's good news. Because I could really use it right now," said Cindy who is still worried about Brenda.
"Well, Kelly and I are getting married," said Brandon.
"Oh, that's wonderful. Hold on, let me get your father on the phone," smiled Cindy.
"Jim, pick up the phone. Brandon has something to tell you," said Cindy loudly so that Jim can hear her.
Jim picks up the phone.
"Hey son," said Jim.
"Hey dad," said Brandon.
"So, what's going on?" asked Jim.
"Well, I just finished telling mom that Kelly and I are getting married," replied Brandon.
"That's great," smiled Jim.
"Have you two set a date yet?" asked Cindy.
"Not yet. We're actually gonna take this engagement slowly. We want to do it right this time," replied Brandon.
"That's good to hear for the both of us actually," said Jim.
The shower door slightly opens and Kelly pops her head out.
"Brandon?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah?" asked Brandon.
"I forgot my towel. Can you bring it to me?" asked Brandon.
"Sure," replied Brandon getting the towel.
"Mom, dad, I gotta go. I'll talk to you soon," said Brandon.
"Ok. Tell Kelly, we said hello," said Cindy.
"Will do...bye," said Brandon.
They all hang up the phone.
Brandon gets the towel and brings it to Kelly.
"Here you go, babe," said Brandon.
"Thanks," said Kelly reaching for the towel.
Brandon takes a step back preventing Kelly from getting the towel.
"Brandon," smiled Kelly as she tries to reach her hand further.
"Sorry," smiled Brandon finally giving her the towel.
"Thanks," said Kelly.
They lean in for a kiss.
"You can step in, you know," smiled Kelly.
"Sure, only under one condition," smiled Brandon.
"And what's that?" asked Kelly.
"That you'll join me," replied Brandon still smiling.
"I wish I could. But I already had my shower," smiled Kelly.
"You can never be too clean," smiled Brandon pulling her close to him.
They smile and kiss.
Silver walks by the bathroom door and sees Brandon.
"Brandon, what are you doing?" asked Silver.
"Nothing," replied Brandon trying to act innocent.
"Yeah right," said Silver walking to the kitchen.
Brandon faces Kelly again and they kiss.
They're in their bedroom. Kelly is getting dressed while Brandon is sitting on the bed.
"Who were you talking to on the phone?" asked Kelly.
"Just my parents," replied Brandon.
"Oh, how are they?" asked Kelly.
"They're fine. They're just worried about Brenda. They haven't heard from her in a while," replied Brandon.
"I'm sure she's fine...then again, Dylan didn't tell us much except she went to China," said Kelly.
"Well, they seemed to calm down after I told them we're getting married," said Brandon.
Kelly quickly turns and faces Brandon.
"You did what?" asked Kelly.
"What?" asked Brandon confused.
"You told them already?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah. What's wrong with that?" asked Brandon.
Kelly pauses for a second and looks at Brandon. Brandon looks back at Kelly.
"Nothing. I'm sorry. I'm gotta go," said Kelly who is obviously unhappy.
Kelly tries to leave but Brandon stops her.
"What's wrong?" asked Brandon.
"You just couldn't wait for me, couldn't you?" asked Kelly.
"I'm sorry but they called so I figured it'll save us some time calling them," replied Brandon.
"Then why couldn't you keep them on the line long enough so that I would get a chance to talk with them?" asked Kelly.
"I don't know. Because it was a long distance call and that you were in the shower, maybe? Is this gonna be a problem?" asked Brandon who still looks confused.
"What's the difference?" asked Kelly who looks really mad at Brandon.
"Kel, I don't get what's the big deal. So I told them. So what?" asked Brandon.
"Brandon, it just seems that you don't think of me whenever you things like this. First you told them about you and I getting back together without me, then you told them about Sammy without me; now this," replied Kelly.
"Kel, I'm sorry," said Brandon who looks sad.
He grabs the phone and tries to hand it to Kelly.
"Here...call them. It's not too late," said Brandon.
Kelly doesn't take the phone.
"You don't get it, do you? The moment's over," said Kelly.
"Kel, I'm sure my parents won't care whether I call or you call. This is not about a moment. It's about us and how we feel about each other," said Brandon.
"Yeah and obviously you forgot about that when you called told them without me," said Kelly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Brandon who looks mad.
"It means the sooner you realize that it us who's getting married, not just you; the better this marriage would work out," replied Kelly who leaves the bedroom.
Brandon stands there as he watches Kelly leave the room.
Brandon is going through some articles at work in his office.
Sheryl comes in.
"Mr. Walsh, here are your messages from earlier," said Sheryl.
"Thanks. You can just leave them on the table," said Brandon.
"Ok," smiled Sheryl.
Sheryl looks at Brandon. Brandon notices.
"Was there something else you needed?" asked Brandon looking up at Sheryl.
"No. I just wanted to thank you again for introducing me to Ricardo," replied Sheryl.
"You're welcome. I assume you two had a good time," said Brandon.
"Oh, I was hoping you'll ask. Yes, the dinner was very romantic," said Sheryl.
"Great," said Brandon.
Sheryl notices that Brandon is not really paying attention to her. So she decides to leave.
"Well, if there's nothing else, I'll go back to my desk," said Sheryl as she begins to leave.
"Sheryl," said Brandon.
Sheryl turns and looks at Brandon.
"You're a woman, right?" asked Brandon.
"Last time I checked; why?" replied Sheryl.
"Let's pretend you got engaged to Ricardo. How would you feel if he told everybody including his parents without you?" asked Brandon.
"Oh, I'll be devastated," replied Sheryl.
"That's what I thought," said Brandon.
"Did you and Kelly get engaged?" asked Sheryl.
"Yeah," replied Brandon.
"Oh, that's so great. I'm so happy for the two of you," smiled Sheryl.
"Thanks," smiled Brandon.
Sheryl realizes something.
"Oh, does that mean you told your parents about the engagement without Kelly?" asked Sheryl.
"You guessed it. You think she'll forgive me?" asked Brandon.
"Of course, she will. She loves you," said Sheryl.
"Besides, I bet you were just so happy that you can't wait to tell everyone," smiled Sheryl.
"I was but I should've been thinking of her instead. After all, this is our engagement," said Brandon.
"Just give it some time. She'll come around," said Sheryl.
"Thanks Sheryl," said Brandon.
"No problem. Call me if you need me," said Sheryl as she leaves.
"I will," said Brandon.
Kelly is in her office at work during lunch.
Silver comes in.
"Hey Kel," said Silver.
"Hey Silver," said Kelly.
"Here's your lunch," said Silver as she sits down.
"Thanks," said Kelly.
"So, have you started making wedding plans yet?" asked Silver.
"No," replied Kelly.
"Oh, I see you're taking your time," smiled Silver.
"Yeah, I guess," said Kelly.
"Well, there's no rush. I mean, you two practically just got back together," said Silver.
Kelly looks up at Silver.
"You think we're moving too fast?" asked Kelly.
"No. I just meant you should take as much time as you need to plan the perfect wedding," replied Silver.
"Oh," said Kelly.
"Something wrong, Kel?" asked Silver.
"Yeah but it's not a big deal," replied Kelly.
"Ok," said Silver pretending like she doesn't care.
"So you're not interested in hearing about my problem?" asked Kelly.
"What problem?" asked Silver pretending again.
"Brandon told his parents without me," replied Kelly.
"Ouch," said Silver.
"Ok...so you agree with me that was wrong of him," said Kelly.
"Yeah, of course. That's usually something a couple should do together," said Silver.
"Good...glad to hear that you're on my side," said Kelly.
"So what did he say after you told him off?" asked Silver smiling.
"That he's sorry and offered to call his parents again together," replied Kelly.
"Ok. So did you?" asked Silver.
"No. I was just too mad," replied Kelly.
"Kel, it was wrong of him but what's done is done. Besides, I think it was an honest mistake," said Silver.
"Yeah, I know that. But why do I still feel so bad?" asked Kelly.
"Maybe there's something else bothering you," replied Silver.
"Yeah, maybe" said Kelly.
Kelly picks up the phone and calls Brandon on his cell phone.
We see Sheryl walking by Brandon's office. She sees that Brandon's cell phone is ringing. She turns around and sees that Brandon is talking to another co-worker at their desk.
"Mr. Walsh, your phone is ringing. Do you want me to answer it for you?" asked Sheryl.
"Yeah, just take a message. Thanks Sheryl," replied Brandon.
"Ok," said Sheryl.
Sheryl answers the phone.
"Hello?" asked Sheryl.
"Hello, who is this?" asked Kelly.
"This is Sheryl, Mr. Walsh's assistant," replied Sheryl.
"Hey Sheryl. This is Kelly," said Kelly.
"Oh hi Kelly. How are you?" asked Sheryl.
"I'm fine. May I please speak to Brandon?" asked Kelly.
"Oh sorry. He's busy at the moment. Can I take a message?" asked Sheryl.
Kelly sighs.
"No, it's ok. Would you tell him to call me when he gets a chance?" asked Kelly.
"Sure," replied Sheryl.
"Thanks Sheryl. By the way, how was your date last night?" asked Kelly.
"It was great. Ricardo is so romantic," replied Sheryl.
"Well, you know what they say? Italians do it best," joked Kelly.
"Hahaha...I guess so," said Sheryl.
"Well, I'm glad you met someone," said Kelly.
"Thanks. Oh and by the way, congratulations," said Sheryl.
"On what?" asked Kelly.
"Your engagement," replied Sheryl.
Kelly now looks mad.
"Thanks Sheryl," said Kelly pretending not to be mad.
"I am so happy for you both," smiled Sheryl.
"Thanks. I'll gotta go. Just tell Brandon my message," said Kelly.
"Ok. Bye Kelly," said Sheryl.
"Bye," said Kelly.
Silver looks at Kelly as Kelly puts her phone away.
"He wasn't there?" asked Silver.
"No. He was busy. But guess what?" asked Kelly.
"What?" asked Silver.
"He told Sheryl about us," replied Kelly.
"Well, that's ok. She's just his assistant," said Silver.
"I know. I don't even know why this is even bothering me," said Kelly who looks frustrated and confused.
"Kel, maybe you should just talk to Brandon. The sooner you talk to him, the better you'll feel," said Silver.
"That's what I just tried doing. I think I just need some time alone to think," said Kelly.
"Does that mean you want me to pick up Sammy from daycare today?" asked Silver.
"You don't have to," replied Kelly.
"Kel, it's not a problem," replied Silver.
"Thanks," said Kelly.
"You're welcome. I gotta go. I promise I'll meet with Annie before lunch ends," said Silver getting up to leave.
"Bye," said Kelly.
"Bye," said Silver.
Brandon walks back to his office and sits down on his chair. He sees that Kelly had left a message with Sheryl. He gets a look on his face and goes to his phone.
"Sheryl?" asked Brandon.
"Yes, Mr. Walsh?" asked Sheryl.
"When did Kelly call?" asked Brandon.
"From before when you were speaking to Calvin," replied Sheryl.
"Oh," said Brandon.
"Is there a problem?" asked Sheryl.
"No...thanks Sheryl," replied Brandon.
"You're welcome," said Sheryl.
Brandon calls Kelly.
"Hello?" asked Kelly.
"Hey, it's me," replied Brandon.
"Hey, I tried calling you earlier," said Kelly.
"Yeah, Sheryl gave me your message," said Brandon.
"She seemed very happy for us," said Kelly.
Brandon just realizes that he's told another person about their engagement without Kelly.
"Are you mad that I told her?" asked Brandon carefully.
"No. I was actually calling to apologize for this morning. I know you meant well. I just don't get why she was answering your cell phone," replied Kelly.
"I didn't know she was answering my cell phone. She just told me someone was calling," said Brandon.
"It's ok," said Kelly.
"I'm sorry about that. And I'm sorry I told Sheryl. I was asking her for advice of how to make it up to you," said Brandon.
"Did she give you any good advice?" asked Kelly.
"Just to apologize like crazy and hope that you'll forgive me," replied Brandon.
"That's not bad. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not mad at you," said Kelly.
"What's the sudden change? You made it seemed like I broke one of the commandments," said Brandon.
"I dunno. I guess I just thought you and I would be telling everyone together," said Kelly.
"We can still do that...how bout tonight?" asked Brandon.
"Sounds good," replied Kelly.
"I can pick you up after work. We can get a bite to eat," said Brandon.
"It's ok Brandon. I have to work late. I'll be home for dinner," said Kelly.
"I can still pick you up afterwards," said Brandon.
"No, it's ok. I'll just drive home...and Silver's gonna pick up Sammy," said Kelly.
"Ok. Are you sure you're ok?" asked Brandon who is getting worried.
"Yeah, I'll be fine," replied Kelly.
"Ok. Bye...I love you," said Brandon.
"I love you too...bye," said Kelly.
They both hang up the phone.
A few hours later between classes, Silver sees Kelly getting into her car in the parking lot.
Silver runs to Kelly.
"Kel," said Silver.
"Hey," said Kelly.
"Where are you going?" asked Silver.
"Eh…I have to go somewhere," replied Kelly.
"Where?" asked Silver.
"Silver, I just have to run an errand. I won't be gone long. Don't worry," replied Kelly.
"Then give me a reason not to worry," said Silver.
Kelly looks at Silver for a moment before answering.
"Ok. If you must know, I was going to visit mom," said Kelly.
"Right now?" asked Silver.
"Yeah. Ever since Brandon told his parents about the wedding, I just can't stop thinking about her," replied Kelly.
"Ok then. I'm coming too," said Silver.
"No, you have classes," said Kelly.
"Kel, she's my mother too," said Silver.
"I know. We'll go again soon," said Kelly.
"Look, I don't get why I can't go with you," said Silver.
"There are some things that I want to tell her...alone. I'm sorry but you just gotta trust me on this," said Kelly.
"Fine," said Silver mad.
"Please don't be angry with me. We'll go again together tomorrow," said Kelly.
"Ok," said Silver.
"Thanks for understanding," said Kelly.
"Just be careful," said Silver.
"I will. Thanks...bye," said Kelly getting into her car.
"Bye," said Silver.
Silver watches as Kelly drives off.
Later in the afternoon, we see Brandon walking into the door.
"Hey, anybody home?" asked Brandon.
Sammy comes out of his room.
"Daddy," said Sammy as he runs to him.
"Hey buddy, how are you?" asked Brandon hugging Sammy.
"Ok," replied Sammy.
"Who's here with you?" asked Brandon.
"Silver," replied Sammy.
Silver comes out of her room.
"Hey Brandon," said Silver.
"Hey Silver. So what do you two want for dinner?" asked Brandon.
"Pizza," smiled Sammy.
"Sounds good...how about you, Silver?" asked Brandon.
"Pizza's fine," replied Silver.
"Cool. I'll let you guys know when it's here," said Brandon.
Sammy runs back to his room.
"Hey Brandon...can I talk to you for a moment?" asked Silver.
"Yeah. I kinda wanna talk to you too. How's Kelly?" asked Brandon.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," replied Silver.
"Why, what's wrong?" asked Brandon.
"I don't know. She looked as if she had a lot on her mind," replied Silver.
"Yeah, I talked to her and I apologized for telling my parents about the wedding without her," said Brandon.
"Yeah, well, I think it's more than that," said Silver.
"What do you mean?" asked Brandon.
"She left in such a hurry that she didn't even let me go with her," replied Silver.
"Left?" asked Brandon.
"Yeah, she went to visit mom's grave. Didn't she tell you?" asked Silver.
"No, she told me she had to work late," replied Brandon looking worried.
"Well, apparently not," said Silver.
"Do you know where she's going?" asked Brandon.
"Yeah. I wanted to go with her but she said that she had to do this by herself," replied Silver.
"Do what?" asked Brandon.
"I don't know. She won't say," replied Silver.
"Ok. Can you give me the address? I'm gonna go and make sure she's ok," said Brandon.
"Can I come?" asked Silver.
"Silver, I need you to watch Sammy," replied Brandon.
"Brandon, please...the least you could do is take us with you. She's our family too," said Silver giving Brandon a serious look.
"Ok. Tell Sammy to get ready," said Brandon.
"Thanks Brandon," said Silver.
"You're welcome...and you're right by the way," said Brandon.
"Good. I'm glad you agree with me," said Silver.
We see Kelly at Jackie Taylor's grave site. She is carrying some flowers.
She bends down and slides her hand over the tombstone. We see that the tombstone reads "Here Lies Jackie Taylor, Beloved Mother."
She sticks the bouquet of flowers in the vase next to the tombstone. She then takes a step back and looks at the tombstone.
"Hi mom," said Kelly.
"I just wanted to update you on how things are going. Silver and Sammy are fine if you're wondering. But I bet you already knew that since I know you're watching over us," smiled Kelly.
"I also came here today because I have some good news to share with you," added Kelly.
"Brandon and I are getting married. I know that we've haven't always seen eye to eye in many things but I do remember that you've always told me to take my time in finding the right guy. Well, I think I have. And judging from what you've taught me, I think you'll agree. I know that we have your blessing. I just wish you could be here," said Kelly.
She stares blankly at her mom's grave not knowing what to say next.
"Oh mom. I'm so sorry...about everything. I shouldn't have shut you out all these years. I know you were going through a difficult time with Mel and that you were only trying to help. But I never wanted this to happen. I always thought that we'll get a chance to put the past behind us and be together again. I guess I was just waiting for the right time. But now it's too late," said Kelly.
"There are so many things I wanted to say to you...and so many things that I know you wanted to say to me. You reached out to me and I was a fool not to accept. I was going through a tough time with Dylan and trying to make it as a single mother. But that was no excuse for me to treat you that way. I guess I didn't want to hear how you'll tell me how disappointed you are of me and how my life turned out. For a long time, I was so afraid that I would end up just like you. I feel so guilty for feeling that way because I know that it wasn't your fault. I just hope you can forgive me," said Kelly who is now in tears.
Kelly was so into the moment that she doesn't notice Brandon's car driving up. She doesn't even notice Brandon walking up to her.
Kelly is surprised and looks at Brandon immediately when she hears him speak.
"Jackie, I just wanted you to know that I love your daughter with all my heart and I will do everything that I can to make her happy. Because she's worth it. I don't know what she told you but I Kelly is the strongest person I know. She cares because she has a good heart. She is a wonderful mother to Sammy and I think I have you to thank for that. She's also the kindest person I know. She's the only person who would take me back after all the stupid mistakes I've made. I'm glad that I will have the time to make it up to her," said Brandon.
Brandon gets a little teary and looks at Kelly who is staring at him with tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry," said Brandon to Kelly.
"I'm sorry too," said Kelly who goes to Brandon.
They hug.
"That was really beautiful," said Kelly.
"I meant every word of it," said Brandon.
"I love you," said Kelly.
"I love you too," said Brandon.
"Would you mind if Sammy and Silver come visit?" asked Brandon.
"No. Thanks for bringing them," replied Kelly.
Kelly walks back to the car.
"Hey guys. Wanna go visit grandma?" asked Kelly.
"Ok," said Sammy.
"Ok, c'mon. Hold my hand," said Kelly.
Kelly notices Silver isn't moving.
"Silver, I'm sorry. I know I should've let you come along. I just didn't want you to see me like this," said Kelly.
"I could've help. I thought we are sisters," said Silver.
"We are. This was something I just had to do by myself," said Kelly.
"Ok," said Silver as she gets out of the car.
They all join Brandon at Jackie's grave.
Later that night, we see Kelly carrying some clothes from the basement. She stops by Silver's room and knocks on the door.
"Come in," said Silver.
Kelly enters.
"Hi. Is this a bad time?" asked Kelly.
"No. I was just on my blog," replied Silver.
"I hoping we can talk. Sister to sister," said Kelly.
"Ok. If this has anything to do with this afternoon, don't worry. We're cool," said Silver.
"Thanks. I also wanted to make it up to you," said Kelly.
"Kel, you don't have to buy me anything," said Silver.
"Don't worry, I won't," smiled Kelly.
"Then what is it?" asked Silver.
"How would you like to be my maid of honor?" asked Kelly.
"Oh my god; are you serious?" asked Silver smiling.
"Yes. I couldn't think of anyone more deserving of the job than you," replied Kelly.
"Wow, I don't know what to say" said Silver still smiling.
"You can start by saying yes," said Kelly.
"Yes, of course, I'll be your maid of honor," said Silver hugging Kelly.
"Is Brandon ok with this?" asked Silver.
"Are you kidding? It was his idea," replied Kelly smiling.
"Awww, I love him," smiled Silver.
Kelly smiles.
"But what about you?" asked Silver.
"What about me?" asked Kelly.
"Are you sure you don't have anyone else you would rather have?" asked Silver.
"Silver, you were so involved in this entire ordeal between me and Brandon. In a way, you help bring us back together. Of course, I would love for you to be my maid of honor," replied Kelly.
"Oh. Thank you so much," said Silver hugging Kelly again.
"Ok. So, we'll just take it easy and take some time to work everything out," said Kelly.
"Sounds good," said Silver.
"I still got some old wedding planners around here. Care to help me look?" asked Kelly.
"Sure," replied Silver.
They start to go through some of the stuff in the basement.
We see Kelly walking into her bedroom. Brandon is already in bed, reading a magazine.
"So how did the sisterly bonding go?" asked Brandon.
"Good. She'll do a great job," replied Kelly.
"I know she will," said Brandon.
Kelly climbs into bed.
"I also told Sammy that he could be the ring bearer," said Kelly.
"Great. Just a few more positions to go and we're done," said Brandon.
"Not so fast, mister. Have you given any thought of who you want to be your best man?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah, a little. But there's still plenty of time," replied Brandon.
"You're right," said Kelly.
"Hey, I was thinking about calling Jim and Cindy again. Are you up for that?" asked Brandon.
"Sure but why?" asked Kelly.
"I wanted you to be a part of it this time," replied Brandon.
"Brandon, it's fine. You don't have to do this for me. I'm not mad at you," said Kelly.
"I'm not doing this for just you. I'm sure they wanted to talk to you too...Please? I just wanted to make this right," said Brandon.
"Ok...in a way, it's a good thing. I really miss your parents," smiled Kelly.
"Well, they've always love you like a daughter," smiled Brandon.
"And soon, I'll be one," said Kelly.
"I can't wait," said Brandon pulling Kelly in for a kiss.
They continue to kiss and totally forgot about calling Jim and Cindy.
"Brandon, it's getting late...shouldn't we call first?" asked Kelly giggling.
"You're right. I don't know if I'll be able to stop once I'm with you," replied Brandon still kissing Kelly.
Kelly smiles.
They grabbed the phone and make the call to Jim and Cindy.
"Hello?" asked Cindy.
"Hi mom," replied Brandon.
"Brandon, hi. What's going on?" asked Cindy.
"Hi Cindy," replied Kelly.
"Kelly?" asked Cindy.
"Yes, it's me. How are you?" asked Kelly.
"I'm fine dear. Oh, it's so good to hear from you. It's been so long," replied Cindy smiling.
"Where's dad?" asked Brandon.
"He's already sleep. Hold on," replied Cindy.
"Jim, wake up. Brandon and Kelly are on the phone," added Cindy.
"Oh ok," said Jim waking up.
"Hey guys," said Jim.
"Hey Jim. How are you?" asked Kelly.
"I'm fine. Congratulations," replied Jim.
"Thanks," said Kelly.
"We're so happy for you both. We were always hoping that you two will find a way back to each other again," said Cindy.
"Well, it took some time but I guess it was meant to be," smiled Kelly.
"You know, I'm so glad you two called because we've been meaning to visit a few friends in L.A. And if you don't mind, we could stop by and finally meet Sammy and take everyone out for a meal or something," said Jim.
"I guess we can do that," said Brandon.
"Are you ok with this?" asked Brandon to Kelly.
"Jim and Cindy, I would love it if you come and visit," replied Kelly.
Brandon smiles.
"Great. I'll make the arrangements and call you back soon," said Cindy.
"Ok," said Brandon.
"Ok. It's getting late. Good night you two," said Cindy.
"Bye. We'll talk soon," said Brandon.
"Bye," said Kelly.
"Bye," said Jim and Cindy.
They all end the call.
Kelly smiles and Brandon notices.
"Hey, what are you smiling about?" asked Brandon.
"About the fact that my life is perfect right now...thanks to you," replied Kelly.
"I think you're giving me too much credit," said Brandon.
"No, I'm serious, Brandon. I was feeling a lot of regret this morning after you told your parents. And then I realized it wasn't really because you told them without me," said Kelly.
"Then what was it?" asked Brandon.
"It was because my mom's gone and I haven't spoken to my dad for so long, I don't have anyone to call," replied Kelly.
"I also kept thinking that if we had gotten married the first time, both of my parents would've been there to see it," added Kelly.
"I didn't know you felt that way. I wish there was something I could do. I'm sorry," said Brandon.
"You don't have to be. It's not your fault. Thanks to you, I'm happier now than I have been in years," said Kelly.
"I feel the same way," said Brandon.
"I love you," said Kelly.
"I love you too," said Brandon.
They kiss and hug.
Coming Next - Jim and Cindy Walsh visit.
