Chapter 47 – The Night Before

Brandon and Kelly are walking back to their house from a date. They are holding hands. They arrive at the bottom of the stairs outside of their house and stop.

"Thank you for a lovely evening," said Kelly.

"You're welcome," said Brandon.

"Good night, Mr. Walsh," said Kelly.

"Can I come in?" asked Brandon.

"Mmm….I don't think so," replied Kelly.

"But I bought you dinner," said Brandon.

Kelly laughs.

"Yes you did and it was delicious," said Kelly.

"Then, why can't I come in?" asked Brandon giving Kelly a disappointing look.

"Mmm…I'm not sure if I'm ready for such a big commitment," replied Kelly.

"Can I at least have a goodnight kiss?" asked Brandon.

"Of course. I certainly think you've earned that," replied Kelly.

They kiss. Brandon pulls Kelly a little closer towards him. They break.

"Now, can I come in?" asked Brandon.

"Mmm…I still don't know," replied Kelly.

"But did you enjoy the kiss?" asked Brandon.

"Yes, it was very good," replied Kelly smiling.

"Then what's the problem?" asked Brandon.

"I just think we're moving too quickly. I don't want to get my heart broken," replied Kelly.

"Don't you think I'll be taking the same risk?" asked Brandon.

"Aren't you the risk taker?" asked Kelly giving Brandon a seductive smile.

"I'm normally not…but being with you just seems so right," replied Brandon.

"Really?" asked Kelly smiling.

"Yeah. In fact, I think I'm falling in love with you as we speak," replied Brandon.

Kelly smiles. Brandon leans in and they kiss. They get really into the kiss. They break.

"So what do you say? Can I come in now?" asked Brandon.

"Not only can you come in; I'm never letting you go," replied Kelly.

They kiss again.

They break. Brandon puts his arm around Kelly as they walk up to the door.

They walk in to see Silver and Sammy watching TV.

"Hey guys," said Brandon.

"Hey," said Silver and Sammy.

Later that night, Brandon and Kelly are in bed.

Kelly is on the phone. Brandon is on his laptop.

"Ok. Yeah, that sounds great. See you soon," said Kelly who gets off the phone.

"So, I know that we kind of agreed that since everyone is so far away that we wouldn't have bachelor and bachelorette parties. But I just got off the phone with Janet. And she wants to throw a small party for me," said Kelly to Brandon.

"Really?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah; just a simple get together; nothing wild or crazy," replied Kelly.

"Ok. As a matter of fact, I just got an e-mail from Steve who wants to get together too," said Brandon.

"Ok," said Kelly.

Kelly looks at Brandon and waits as if he's waiting for a reply from him. Brandon notices and looks at Kelly.

"What?" asked Brandon.

"Aren't you going to reassure me that your party isn't going to be wild and crazy either?" asked Kelly.

"Well, I don't know. After all, Steve's organizing it," replied Brandon joking.

"Haha…what did you tell him?" asked Kelly sarcastically.

"Nothing. He said he was going to take care of everything. All I have to do is show up," replied Brandon.

"Gee that's reassuring," said Kelly who is being sarcastic.

"What are you so worry about?" asked Brandon.

"I'm just worried that he may set up some live entertainment that you may not want….that is unless you do want it," replied Kelly.

"Kel, Steve's our friend. He may be wild and crazy at times, but he's married with kids now. He's much more mature than what you're saying," said Brandon.

Kelly thinks for a minute.

"You're right. I know I shouldn't judge Steve. Go out and have a good time," smiled Kelly.

"Do you mean that?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah, I do," replied Kelly.

"So, do you want it?" asked Kelly.

"Want what?" asked Brandon.

"You know, the live entertainment," replied Kelly.

Brandon looks at her with an uncertain look.

"Kel, to be honest, I haven't given much thought about it. I'm thinking it'll be a party and I'm going there because it'll be good to see everyone and it's a part of tradition," said Brandon.

"Ok," said Kelly.

"And what about you? Are you having any live entertainment at your party?" asked Brandon.

"If I do, how would that make you feel?" asked Kelly.

"I can't pretend that I won't be a little jealous…but as long as I can trust you, I think I can be ok with that," replied Brandon.

"Just when I thought I had you figured out, you had to say that," said Kelly.

"What?" asked Brandon.

"You were supposed to say that you're not ok with that. Then we would agree on not having strippers at our parties," replied Kelly.

"I guess I've matured since the last time," said Brandon.

"I guess you have. And you know what I think?" asked Kelly.

"What's that?" asked Brandon.

"That I know you'll won't let things get out of hand," replied Kelly.

"Is Silver going to be there?" asked Brandon.

"I hope so. She is my maid of honor," replied Kelly.

"Ok," smiled Brandon.

"Why are you smiling?" asked Kelly.

"Well, with Silver there, I don't think you guys will try to do anything too crazy," replied Brandon.

"Oh, well to be fair; then you can't have any strippers at your party either," said Kelly.

"Why? Silver's not coming to my party," smiled Brandon.

Kelly playfully hits him.

"I'm joking. I'll let Steve know that all I want is a simple poker game with the guys. Nothing more," said Brandon.

"Really?" asked Kelly.

"Really. Besides, seeing another girl naked will just make me feel like I was cheating on you," replied Brandon.

"That's so sweet," said Kelly laughing.

"I can't believe in a little over a week, we'll be husband and wife," added Kelly.

"Yeah, I can't believe it either," said Brandon.

"Are you nervous?" asked Kelly.

"Um…not really," replied Brandon.

"Wow, really? Not at all?" asked Kelly.

"Well, maybe a little. But after spending over 10 years regretting not marrying you the first time, I had a lot of time to think. I know for sure now this is what I want," replied Brandon.

Kelly leans in and kisses Brandon.

"That's very sweet," said Kelly.

"Thanks….so I guess you're a little nervous?" asked Brandon.

"Just a little. Nothing major. But I know I love you and I do want to spend the rest of my life with you; emphasize on the do," replied Kelly.

"Good because I hope that'll be a part of your answer when the minister asks you," said Brandon.

Kelly leans in for another kiss.

They break and she wraps her arms around Brandon and lays her head on his chest.

They go to sleep.

Steve and Janet are in their bedroom.

"Well, Kelly wanted me to warn you, no strippers," said Janet.

"What? Why would Kelly think I would do such a thing to my best friend?" asked Steve joking.

"Mmm…I dunno. Maybe it's because she knows you so well," replied Janet.

"But you know you better, right?" asked Steve.

"Mmm…Judging from the grin on your face earlier, I'd say you were planning something," replied Janet.

"Well, I wasn't," said Steve.

"Ok. Good to know…for your sake," smiled Janet.

"Besides, what's Kelly has against some harmless viewing pleasure?" asked Steve without the grin his face.

"Honey, don't ask questions you already know the answer to," replied Janet smiling.

"What are you complaining about anyway? You didn't have a stripper at your bachelor party. Do you have any regrets," said Janet.

"No. Now why would I need a stripper to satisfy me when I have you?" asked Steve.

"Nice save," replied Janet.

"Wouldn't you think that Brandon doesn't need a stripper since he has Kelly?" asked Janet.

"Yeah of course. They're great together…but that doesn't mean I can't give my best friend a good sendoff to married life," replied Steve.

"That's sweet of you but how do you know Brandon wants that?" asked Janet.

"I'm not saying that," replied Steve.

"Honey, are you sure you're not trying to fulfill something that you didn't get to do at your bachelor party?" asked Janet.

"Yeah, I'm sure. I'm fulfilled," replied Steve who starts to walk to the bathroom.

"Geez, just trying to have some fun. You don't have to interrogate me," said Steve to himself.

"What was that, honey?" asked Janet.

"Oh nothing, dear," replied Steve who sensed Janet heard what he said.

"I love you," said Steve smiling.

"I love you too," said Janet.

Steve opens the door of the Peach Pit. We see that it's Brandon.

"Bran, you made it," said Steve smiling.

They hug.

"Yeah; sorry I'm late. It was a long drive," said Brandon.

"No worries. You know we couldn't start without you. C'mon in," said Steve.

"Guys, he's here," said Steve in a mischievous voice.

Brandon walks in and is surprise to see everybody there, including Nat, Noah, David, Muntz, and Dylan. They all stand there and smile at him.

"Wow. Now if this isn't a reunion, I don't know what is," smiled Brandon who goes and greets them individually.

"Nat, thanks for letting us use your space," said Brandon.

"I love you, man," smiled Brandon as they hugged.

"Noah, long time no see," said Brandon.

"Same here, Brandon. Congratulations!" said Noah.

"Thanks," as Brandon goes and hugs him.

"Silver, you must've traveled a long way," said Brandon.

"Think nothing of it; I wouldn't wanna miss this for the world," said David.

"Thanks buddy," said Brandon who goes and hugs David.

"Muntz, did you lose weight?" asked Brandon.

"Oh you're too kind, Brandon," replied Muntz.

"How's the family?" asked Brandon.

"They're good,' replied Muntz.

"Glad you're here," said Brandon who hugs Muntz.

Brandon and Dylan look at each other with a serious look. They don't say anything to each other.

"Brandon," said Dylan.

"Dylan," said Brandon.

The others looks at them with a little of a worry.

"It's your move," said Dylan who sticks out his hand for a handshake.

Brandon takes his hand and shakes it. They don't let go of each other's hand. Their faces get more serious, and then turned into smiles. Dylan pulls Brandon in and they hug.

"Ok, everybody, I have a list of activities lined up for Brandon soon. But in the meantime, feel free to pig out on the food," said Steve.

They all walk towards the kitchen.

"Ok everybody. Megaburgers are here. Fries are there. Drinks are all over the place," laughed Nat.

"Alright! Everybody dig in," said Steve.

Later that night…

"Hey man. Thanks for setting this up," said Brandon to Steve.

"You're welcome. You know I wanted to do more but you know who wouldn't let me," said Steve.

"Don't worry about that. Everyone's here; we all had a good time. That's what counts," said Brandon.

Steve smiles and they hug.

It's after the party and everyone is leaving the Peach Pit.

"Thanks guys for coming. I had a great time," said Brandon.

"Alright man, have a good night. We'll see you tomorrow," said David.

"See ya," said Brandon.

"Night, Bran," said Steve.

"Night Steve…thanks again for a great party," said Brandon.

"You're welcome. I'll see you tomorrow morning," said Steve.

Dylan has already started cleaning up. Brandon goes and helps him. Nat comes in from the back.

"Guys, go home and get some sleep. I can clean this up by myself," said Nat.

"No, we'll help. After all, you did let us use the space," said Brandon.

"That's the least I could do for my oldest and dearest friends," said Nat.

"Thanks guys. If you're sure you want to stay, I'll be in the back doing my books," added Nat.

"Thanks Nat," said Brandon who grabs a broom and starts sweeping.

"Hey Bran, why don't you take off man?" asked Dylan.

"Here's the key to the hotel room. Go, I can clean this up by myself. I'll be back when I'm done," added Dylan.

"No chance, man. I'm staying," said Brandon.

"Alright then," said Dylan.

"Just being here in this place makes me happy. I'm starting to think about all the times and gatherings we had in this place," said Brandon.

"Yeah, you know what they say. Good food and good people will give you plenty of reasons to come back," said Dylan.

"Yeah; I don't know why I left this place in the first place?" asked Brandon.

"Ah Brandon, you had a great job opportunity. You had to go," replied Dylan.

"Yeah, I just wish I didn't lose all that time," said Brandon.

"You mean with Kelly?" asked Dylan.

"Yeah. But I'm glad it worked out for the best," replied Brandon.

"Right," said Dylan.

"Sorry man, I didn't mean to bring that up," said Brandon.

"No, it's ok. Kel and I had our thing. Just too many things got in the way," said Dylan.

"Anything going on between you and Brenda?" asked Brandon.

"No, or at least nothing at the moment, I should say. We see each other from time to time and we talk," replied Dylan.

"Just talk?" asked Brandon.

"Just talk," replied Dylan.

"Talk is good," said Brandon.

"Yeah, I kinda don't want to step past that boundary of being good friends," said Dylan.

"Because it didn't work out for you two as a couple?" asked Brandon.

"No, it worked out. We both have a lot in common. It's just our timing. We both love traveling but we go to different places at different times. If I get called for some work, I'm outta here. So, it may be just best that we do our own thing," replied Dylan.

"Fair enough. Listen, I didn't mean to dive into your personal life," said Brandon.

"Nah, it's ok," said Dylan.

Brandon ties up a trash bag.

"Looks like we're done," said Dylan.

"Yeah," said Brandon.

"So what do you wanna do?" asked Brandon.

Dylan looks around and sees a deck of playing cards on the counter.

He goes and gets the pack of cards.

"Alright, I'll deal," said Brandon.

They are at the table and Brandon is dealing the cards.

"Brandon, I really appreciate you asked me to be one of your best men…even after the misunderstanding" said Dylan.

"Yeah, I'm just glad you can come," said Brandon.

"It's you and Kel. I can't miss that again," said Dylan.

"Thanks man," said Brandon.

"If I haven't already, I'm sorry for what happened. It wasn't Kelly's fault. If I had just called you back, you guys wouldn't have to go through this," said Dylan.

"Thanks man. That means a lot," said Brandon.

They pick up their cards.

"Nervous about tomorrow?" asked Dylan.

"No, I waited for another chance to make things right and now I have it. If anything I'm more nervous for Kelly," replied Brandon.

"Why?" asked Dylan.

"I know she loves me and want this as much as I do. But I'll feel so much better once this is over," replied Brandon.

"It'll be different this time. We're all here this time. We want this as much as you do," said Dylan.

"Thanks man, that means a lot coming from you," said Brandon.

"Good cuz; gin. I win," said Dylan.

Brandon folds his cards down on the table and gives Dylan an odd look.

"Let's go again. It'll take your mind off things," said Dylan.

"Alright. You sound like you've done this before," said Brandon.

"Yeah, I always tend to play cards with the groom the night before someone's wedding," said Dylan.

"Yeah, I remember we did this the night before your wedding," said Brandon.

Dylan looks up at him briefly before looking back down at his cards.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bring that up," said Brandon.

"It's ok. Sometimes I don't mind talking about it," said Dylan.

"Why?" asked Brandon.

"Because she's the only girl who I got the closest to marrying," replied Dylan.

"But you guys did get married," said Brandon.

"Barely," said Dylan.

"It still counts," said Brandon.

"Not really, Bran," said Dylan.

"Ok, yeah I get it," said Brandon.

"She was someone who I was ready to commit to. I was clear about my direction in life," said Dylan.

"What were your plans, if you don't mind me asking?" asked Brandon.

"That's the thing, Bran. We didn't have any. We were free. That was my chance to leave my problems behind," replied Dylan.

"Dylan, yes, you did go through a lot but we would've been all here for you even if you had stayed," said Brandon.

"I know. Too much happened here and I just had to go," said Dylan.

'So what brought you back?" asked Brandon.

Dylan looks at him with a blank stare.

"Ok. Nevermind," said Brandon.

"We've been through a lot," said Dylan.

"Yeah we have. So, you got anything you would like to say to me?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah," replied Dylan who shows him his cards.

Brandon sees the cards and looks down.

"Again?" asked Brandon.

"That's right," replied Dylan.

"We're not playing for money, right?" asked Brandon.

"We could but I don't you could afford it," replied Dylan smiling.

"Speaking of money, you know Kelly paid for most of the wedding," said Brandon.

"So?" asked Dylan.

"I dunno. I just thought I could contribute a lot more," replied Brandon.

"You could've asked me," said Dylan.

"No. Did Kelly ask you?" asked Brandon.

"No, she didn't. But I would've offered to help," replied Dylan.

"Thanks," said Brandon.

"Anytime," said Dylan.

Nat comes out.

"Well, if this is your idea of helping me clean up, then you might as well not be here," said Nat.

"We're finished," said Dylan.

"It's spotless," said Brandon.

"Well, I'm done with the books….so," said Nat.

"So….," said Brandon.

"So, can I play a round with you guys?" asked Nat.

"Yeah, pull up a seat," replied Dylan.

"What are we playing for?" asked Nat.

"Loser has to let Brandon stay at his place for the night," replied Dylan joking.

"Whoa…too rich for my blood…deal me out then," said Nat laughing.

Brandon playfully hits Dylan. They all laugh and talk.

The girls are at Brandon and Kelly's house having their bachelorette party. They are laughing and having a good time.

"Well, I want to give a toast to the future Mrs. Walsh and my future sister-in-law," said Brenda who raises her wine glass. Everyone else does the same.

"Cheers," said Brenda.

"Cheers," said everybody.

"Thanks Brenda. Thanks everybody," said Kelly.

"So what's next?" asked Kelly.

"Well, Silver and I have a little quiz for you to take," replied Janet.

"Will this test require me to think because I feel a little tipsy right now," joked Kelly who starts jerking around pretending that she's drunk.

Everybody laughs.

"No, these questions are about Brandon," replied Silver.

"Oooooo," said everyone else.

"Oh great," said Kelly.

Everybody laughs.

"Ok; what are you guys doing to me? Is this a test to see how much I love him?" asked Kelly.

"No, we don't need a test for that. Sammy's your proof," replied Brenda.

"Awww," said everyone.

"No, it's just some simple questions from your past relationships with him," said Janet.

"Ok, it's not like I have a choice," said Kelly smiling.

"No, in fact, for every answer you get wrong, you have to take a shot," said Janet.

"C'mon guys; I'm getting married tomorrow. I don't wanna be hung-over," said Kelly.

"Then all you have to do is get all the answers correctly," said Janet.

"You know what guys? Maybe she's right. Maybe this isn't a good idea," said Andrea.

"No, I'll do it. I'm always up for a challenge. How many questions are there?" asked Kelly.

"10," replied Silver.

"Ok, all I ask that there are no trick questions," said Kelly.

"Ok," said Silver smirking a bit.

Kelly notices and gives Silver a face.

"Ok. 1st question. In what year did Brandon first proposed to you?" asked Silver.

"1994," replied Kelly without hesitation.

"That is correct," said Silver.

"Very good," said Brenda."

"Thanks! I mean, it was so romantic and unexpected that I'll never forget it," said Kelly.

"Awww," said everyone.

Silver hands the piece of paper with the questions to Janet.

"#2 How many years did you two knew each other before you started dating?" asked Janet.

Kelly is doing the calculations in her head.

"4?" replied Kelly who seems not so sure.

"4 is correct," said Janet.

Everybody cheers.

"Ok. My turn. #3. During what event did you two have your first kiss together?" asked Silver.

"Oh that's an easy one. The Spring Dance," replied Kelly.

"That's right," said Silver.

Some time goes by and they're in the last question.

"Ok. This isn't very much fun. She hasn't gotten a single answer wrong," said Silver.

Everybody laughs.

"Who came up with these questions?" asked Kelly.

"We all did earlier tonight," replied Brenda.

"Ooo; can I ask the last one?" asked Valerie.

"Sure," replied Janet who hands Valerie the piece of paper.

"Oh no," said Kelly worried.

Everybody laughs.

"No no no…I'll be nice. This is an innocent question," said Val.

"Ok, Val. The final question," said Kelly.

"Where was your first time together?" asked Val.

"Just an innocent question, huh?" asked Kelly chuckling.

"It is," replied Val with a smile on her face.

"We have a child here," said Brenda.

"Hey, I'm no child. I am a mature woman," exclaimed Silver.

Everybody laughs.

"Ok. Ok. It was in Washington," said Kelly.

"Is she correct?" Val looking at everybody.

"How should we know? We weren't there," laughed Brenda.

"Well I was," said Clare.

Everybody looks at Clare with a weird look.

"Well, not with them. But I saw them spending so much time together…I think she's telling the truth," said Clare.

"Ok. Are we done with the question?" asked Kelly trying to change the subject.

"Wait. I know how we can find out for sure," said Val.

"How?" asked Kelly.

"Let's call Brandon," replied Val.

"Yeah!" said Silver.

"No guys; c'mon. I've already told you too much," said Kelly.

Everybody laughs.

"Ok, I guess we don't have to call him. Looks like Kelly has gotten a perfect score," said Val.

"You see? I know my man," laughed Kelly.

Everybody laughs.

Later that night, Dylan and Brandon are at their hotel room.

"Hey man. Thanks again for letting me crash here for the night," said Brandon.

"Eh…it's no big deal. Besides, I get lonely if you know what I mean," said Dylan.

"Yeah I do…but sorry, I can't help you there buddy," said Brandon joking.

"Very funny. What I meant to say is that it's good to have a friend here," said Dylan.

"Same here," said Brandon.

"Listen Dylan. If you don't mind, I got a big day ahead of me tomorrow so I better get some sleep," said Brandon.

"Sure but not before I give you your wedding present," said Dylan.

"Oh Dylan, you didn't have to get us anything," said Brandon.

"I know but I did anyway," said Dylan.

Dylan reaches into one of his bags and reaches out a small notebook. He gives it to Brandon.

"What's this?" asked Brandon who has a confused look on his face.

"This is my diary of all the notes I've took about Sammy when he was a baby," replied Dylan.

"Notes?" asked Brandon with a suspiciously feeling.

"Well, since I was away all the time, these are things that I learned about Sammy over the years. It's kind of a like my own parental guide," replied Dylan.

Brandon looks at Dylan in silence.

"You're a good father, Brandon. I just thought you could use it more than me," added Dylan reassuring Brandon.

Brandon skims through the pages of notes.

"Thanks Dylan. But are you sure you don't want to keep this for your own kids someday?" asked Brandon.

"I don't think that's ever gonna happen," replied Dylan.

"Why not? All you need is a woman" asked Brandon.

"Let's just say my body isn't up for it," replied Dylan who is hesitant about telling Brandon about his secret.

"Wait; what?" asked Brandon confused.

Dylan looks at him with a blank stare.

'Never mind. It's nothing," replied Dylan.

"Cmon Dylan. You can tell me," said Brandon.

"Bran, there's nothing to tell. I just haven't met the right girl yet; that's all," said Dylan.

"Are you sure that's it?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah," said replied Dylan.

"Ok," said Brandon.

"Good night, Brandon. You got a big day tomorrow," said Dylan.

"Ok. I'm here for you. You know that, right?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah man. Thanks," replied Dylan.

Later that night, we see Dylan at a grocery store paying for something.

"Here you go, sir. Have a nice evening," said the cashier.

"Thanks," said Dylan in a somber mood.

Dylan walks outside with carrying something in a paper bag. He sits on the curb of the parking lot. He takes a bottle of beer out of the bag, opens, and drinks it fully with a few gulps.

Times passes and we see him holding the empty bottle in his hand. He looks at it. He quietly smacks his lips together and looks far ahead. Seeing an almost empty parking lot ahead, he angrily chucks the empty beer bottle towards the opposite end of the parking lot. Eventually, we hear the glass breaks.

He takes another beer out of the bag and starts to drink it.

Back at the hotel room, we see Brandon asleep. His cellphone rings waking him up. He slowly wakes up and realizes where he is. He look at the phone and sees that it's Kelly calling him.

"Hey," said Brandon still sleepy.

"Hi. Did I wake you?" asked Kelly.

"Yeah but I didn't mind," replied Brandon smiling.

"How was your party?" asked Brandon.

"Good. I had fun. How was yours?" asked Kelly.

"The same. It's good to see everyone again," replied Brandon.

"Yeah, me too. Are you nervous about tomorrow?" asked Kelly.

"Wait; hold on. Let me go outside. I don't want to wake Dylan up," replied Brandon.

Brandon gets up and notices that Dylan isn't at his bed.

"You know what? Dylan's not here," said Brandon.

"Where is he?" asked Kelly.

"I don't know," replied Brandon.

"Maybe he's in the bathroom," said Kelly.

Brandon goes and checks.

"No, he's not there," said Brandon.

"He got away from you, huh?" asked Kelly.

"Maybe he just wanted some fresh air or something," replied Brandon.

"So I guess we can talk here," said Brandon.

"Mmm…I was just calling to make sure you were ok," said Kelly smiling.

"I am," said Brandon.

"Good," said Kelly.

"Were you calling to check up on me?" asked Brandon.

"I might have," replied Kelly smiling.

"Good," said Brandon.

"Good? You don't mind?" asked Kelly.

"No, I wanted to talk to you anyway. I just wasn't sure whether or not you were already asleep," said replied Brandon.

"No, can't sleep," said Kelly.

"Nervous?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah; I'm worry that the cake won't have enough frosting or whether there will be enough appetizers to go around," replied Kelly joking.

"Good things to worry about," said Brandon.

"How about you?" asked Kelly.

"I'm worry I won't be able to wait to I Do to you," replied Brandon.

"Awww…Ok, I would like to change my answer to that too," said Kelly laughing.

Brandon laughing.

"This is nice," said Kelly.

"Yeah. I don't want to keep you up though. We should probably get some sleep," said Brandon.

"Yeah. Good night. I love you," said Kelly.

"I love you too" said Brandon.

"Say good night to Dylan for me too when you see him," said Kelly.

"Ok," said Brandon.

They hang up the phone.

Brandon climbs back into his bed. He looks at Dylan's empty bed at the moment. He glances at the alarm clock. It shows 2:30am.

He sits up from the bed. He grabs his phone and makes a call. The phone rings.

The phone connects but there is no voice on the other line.

"Hello?" asked Brandon.

"Hello; Dylan?" asked Brandon.

"Dylan?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah?" asked Dylan.

"Dylan? It's Brandon. Where are you?" asked Brandon.

"I'm at a eh….aaaaa," replied Dylan who's sound drunk.

"Dylan, are you ok?" asked Brandon.

"I'm fine," replied Dylan.

"Are you drunk?" asked Brandon.

"No; if I'm drunk, then how did I just sink 4 beer bottles in the same spot in a row?" replied Dylan.

"Dylan, where are you?" asked Brandon.

"Eh…who is this?" asked Dylan.

"It's Brandon," replied Brandon.

"Brandon, I'm soooooooo happy for you, man," said Dylan who is still drunk.

"Thanks. Where are you?" asked Brandon.

"Nah man; I don't think you understand. I'm really happy for you," replied Dylan.

"Yeah ok; where..," said Brandon who gets interrupted.

"In fact, I'm so happy for you; I'm giving a toast to you now. Cheers to you, Brandon…woaw!" said Dylan very loudly.

Suddenly someone from inside the store comes out.

"Hey you; can you keep it down out here?" asked the man.

"Hey do you mind? I'm giving the groom a toast here? He's getting married tomorrow...and I'm the best man," replied Dylan.

"Now where was I….oh yes; to Brandon, my best friend who is also the luckiest guy in the world. He has a great girl and a son….," yelled Dylan.

"Hey, if you don't get out of here, I'm going to call the cops!" said the man.

"Shut up!" said Dylan who throws a bottle of beer at the man.

The man dodges the bottle of beer. The bottle hits the ground and breaks.

"Dammit…I thought it was empty," said Dylan.

"You threw a bottle at me? I'm calling the cops," said the man who goes back inside the store.

"Yeah? Go ahead you jerk," yelled Dylan.

Brandon heard of all this.

"Dylan? Dylan?" asked Brandon who looks worried.

"Yeah?" asked Dylan.

"Dylan, tell me where you are. I can come and get you," said replied Brandon.

"You're a good friend, Brandon. But don't worry about me, Brandon. I'm fine. I'm just hanging out here. I got my space. I got my booze. I got my best friend on the phone.

What more can I ask for?" asked Dylan.

"Dylan, stop playing around. Where are you?" asked Brandon.

"I'm at this parking lot," replied Dylan.

"What else?" asked Brandon who gets up and tries to get dress while still on the phone with Dylan.

"There's a store here," replied Dylan.

"What's the name of the store?" asked Brandon.

"Maxi….," replied Dylan who gets interrupted by a police officer.

The police officer walks towards him.

"Maxi what?" asked Brandon.

"Sir?" asked the police officer.

"Dylan is that a cop?" asked Brandon.

"Yeah," replied Dylan.

"Sir, can you stand up?" asked the police officer.

"I don't know. What kind of prize do I get if I can do it?" asked Dylan.

"Give me your phone," replied the police officer.

The police officer grabs the phone out of Dylan's hand.

"Hey, give that back!" said Dylan trying to reach for his phone.

The police officer restrains the drunken Dylan.

"Hello?" asked the police officer.

"Hello?" asked Brandon.

"Hi, this is Officer Smith. Who is this?" asked the police officer.

"This is Brandon," replied Brandon.

"Brandon, your friend here looks to be intoxicated. I'm going to have to take him in," said the police officer.

"Officer, if you can let me know where you guys are right now, I can come and get him. Can we skip the part about arresting him?" asked Brandon.

"I don't think so. He has caused quite a mess here at the parking lot. I'm seeing glass everywhere. The store owner might want to press charges. I'm going to have to take him in," replied the police officer.

"Officer, if you may, I'll be willing to talk to the store owner. You can take him downtown if you want to. I just want to come along," said Brandon.

The officer is silent as he thinks about it.

Later that night, Dylan is walking out of the police station. Brandon is walking behind him.

"Why do you have to follow me? Leave me alone," said Dylan.

"You know, man. If I were you, I would be at least a little thankful that I got you out of jail," said Brandon.

Dylan turns around and looks at Brandon.

"Ok, is that what you want? Thank you, Brandon. Thank you for everything! Thank you for moving back to Beverly Hills! Thank you for reuniting with Kelly and Sammy! Thank you for inviting me to your wedding so I can see how happy you guys are! Is that what you want, Brandon? Is that it? Is that what you want to hear so that you can finally shut up?" asked Dylan loudly.

"You win, ok? I lose you. You win. It's over. Enjoy your pathetic lives together," added Dylan.

A couple of cops notice and stare at them.

Brandon looks at back Dylan with a disappointing look. He stays silent and walks pass Dylan to his car. Brandon opens the car door. He looks at Dylan waiting for him to get into the car. Dylan stands and looks back at Brandon. He walks to the car and gets in. Brandon gets in.

The car starts and they drive away.
