Chpt 56 - Unblast from the Past - Part 1
Brandon and Kelly are at Doctor Long's office. Dr. Long has the sonogram machine on and is doing tests on Kelly.
"Well guys; things looks good. Actually, very good," said Dr. Long.
"Really?" asked Kelly excited.
"Yeah, your baby looks healthy. Are you guys interested in knowing the sex?" asked Dr. Long.
Brandon and Kelly looks at each other.
"Do you want to know now?" asked Kelly.
"It's up to you," replied Brandon.
"Great, I have to decide now?" asked Kelly.
"I dunno. It's up to you," replied Brandon.
"Ok, yes; we would like to know," said Kelly.
"Ok. It's a ….," said Dr. Long.
"No wait," said Kelly interrupting Dr. Long.
"What's wrong?" asked Brandon.
"I think I want to keep it a surprise," replied Kelly.
"Ok," said Dr. Long.
"But I thought you wanted to get the baby room ready and buy clothes," said Brandon.
"Oh right. Then yes, we would like to know," said Kelly.
"Great. You'll be having a…." said Dr. Long.
"Wait...," said Kelly stopping Dr. Long again.
"We don't have to decide right now, do we?" asked Kelly.
"No, you don't," chuckled Dr. Long.
"Whenever, you're ready, just give me a call," added Dr. Long.
"Ok. Thanks," said Kelly sounding a little relieved.
Brandon and Kelly are walking to their car. We can see Kelly's pregnancy is really showing. Brandon is slowly walking with her to the car.
"I can't believe I can't decide on whether or not I want to know," said Kelly.
"Whatever you want, Kel is fine with me," said Brandon.
"That's not helping," said Kelly.
"I just don't want to say anything that will upset you," said Brandon.
"You won't," said Kelly.
They reached their car and are getting into it.
"Ok, I want to know so we can be well prepared," said Brandon.
"No, then we'll miss the surprise element," said Kelly.
"But you waited with Sammy, didn't you?" asked Brandon.
"No, deciding that was the last thing on my mind. I had other worries to deal with," replied Kelly.
"Ok. Like what?" asked Brandon.
"Bills, problems with my mom, dealing with Dylan….," replied Kelly.
Brandon looks down.
"I wish I was around then. May have made things easier for you," said Brandon.
"Yeah. I guess I'm still blaming myself for that," said Kelly.
Brandon realizes that she shouldn't bring that up.
"Sorry Kel; I didn't to bring that up," said Brandon.
"No, it's ok. We're moving forward," said Kelly who smiles and takes Brandon's hand.
Brandon smiles too.
"So you sure you wanna go to work?" asked Brandon who starts the car.
They drive off.
"Yeah, our baby is healthy and I'm in a good mood," replied Kelly.
"You sure you want to ruin that by dealing with some troubled kids?" joked Brandon.
"Ha ha…very funny," said Kelly.
"Obviously, you don't know that being a good guidance counselor will help me be a good mom," added Kelly.
"For your information, I not only know that, I can see that in you. You are a great guidance counselor and a wonderful mother," said Brandon.
"Glad you see it my way," said Kelly smiling.
They arrive at the parking lot at West Beverly High School.
"Ok, have a good day," said Kelly.
"You want me to walk in with you?" asked Brandon.
"No, I'll be ok," replied Kelly.
"You sure. I just want to make sure you get in ok," said Brandon.
"Honey, that's very sweet you keep offering to do that for me EVERY time you drive me to work…but I'll be ok," said Kelly.
"Ok. Have a good day. I love you," said Brandon.
"I love you too," said Kelly.
They kiss.
Kelly opens the car door and slowly gets out. Kelly grabs her stuff from Brandon.
The door closes and Brandon drives off.
Kelly walks to her office.
Harry notices and follows her into her office.
"Mrs. Walsh, what are you doing here?" asked Harry.
"I work here, Harry," replied Kelly.
"No, I meant I thought you had a doctor's appointment today," said Harry.
"I just did. It's done," said Kelly.
"I just thought you would want to take the entire day off," said Harry.
"Nope; I have a lot of paperwork to go through and I intend to finish them today," said Kelly.
"Ok. But if you don't mind. I got a kid in my office that is in need of some serious guidance," said Harry.
"No problem; send him or her in. I'm ready," replied Kelly.
"Ok. He's a transfer student. I should warn you that he's been kicked out of 3 schools. Here's his profile," said Harry.
Kelly takes a look at the profile. She had a brief surprised look on her face.
"I'm ready," said Kelly giving Harry a weak smile.
"Ok, I'll get him," said Harry.
Harry leaves the office.
Kelly sits down and quickly opens up the profile folder. She scans through the sheet at the name and parents' name. A scared look comes upon her face as she comes to a realization. She puts her hands on her face.
She composes herself as she hears footsteps heading her way.
She looks at the door as Harry and a student walks in. The student is wearing a grey hoodie with a black beanie.
"Mrs. Walsh, this is Ricky Webber. Ricky, this is Mrs. Kelly Walsh, our school guidance counselor," said Harry.
"Hi Ricky. It's nice to meet you," said Kelly extending her hand to Richard.
Richard doesn't respond. Instead he gives Kelly a blank stare. After a few moments, Kelly smiles and put her hand down.
"Hopefully she can help you get back on track. Do yourself a favor and please treat her with some respect," said Harry.
"Mrs. Walsh. I'll be in my office if you need me," said Harry.
"Thanks Mr. Wilson," said Kelly.
Harry leaves.
"Ricky, why don't you have a seat and we can get started," said Kelly who takes a seat.
Ricky just stands there and doesn't move.
"Please?" asked Kelly who starts to get nervous.
Ricky slowly takes a seat.
"Thanks. Ricky, I see that you are new here at West Beverly. So welcome. I see that you've been transferred from several schools because of various problems. I hope you'll be happy here," said Kelly.
Ricky doesn't seem to be paying any attention to Kelly. He's looking elsewhere. Kelly notices and it's obvious that it's bothering her that she can't seem to get through to him.
"Ricky, is there something you want to talk about while we're here?" asked Kelly.
"How long do I have to be here?' asked Ricky.
"Well that depends. I see that you were on your phone while you were in class. If you are not aware of it, we don't allow phones in class while Ms. Gifford was trying to teach the class. You can go as soon as we discussed the problem and you can convince me that you understand" replied Kelly.
"No, I meant when I can leave this school?" asked Ricky.
"Why do you want to leave?" asked Kelly.
At that moment, a part of Kelly was happy that Ricky wanted to leave the school. Fearing that her troubled past has caught up to her, she knew that if Ricky is gone, she might be able to avoid revisiting her past problems. Knowing her job and her ethics, she knows her conscience will get the best of her. She knows that as a guidance counselor, her job is to help the students fit well in the school. Her motives of getting rid of the kid would be selfish….she wouldn't know how she would be able to live with herself.
"I dunno. This is the 4th high school I'm in. I just figured sooner or later, I'll be kicked out of this one. Might as well get it over with now," replied Ricky.
"That's one way of looking at things. Did you feel the same way in your other schools?" asked Kelly.
"It's the only thing I've been good in," replied Ricky.
"Do you like to play sports?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah," replied Ricky.
"What's your favorite sport?" asked Kelly.
"Football," replied Ricky.
"We got a football team. Would you like to play for our team?" asked Kelly.
"I can't," replied Ricky.
"Why not?" asked Kelly.
"They say my grades are not good enough. I think that's wrong," replied Ricky.
"Why do you think that?" asked Kelly.
"Grades don't have anything to do with sports. You look the NFL. They don't draft players based on grades; they look at skills. They even pay their players. I'm not even getting paid. I'm offering my skills for free for this team," replied Ricky.
Kelly looks at Ricky impressed.
"That's a good argument, Ricky," said Kelly.
"You see? It makes sense, right? The coach doesn't see it though," said Ricky.
"What if I try to talk to the coach about giving you a tryout?" asked Kelly.
"You can do that?" asked Ricky.
"Well, I can try," replied Kelly.
"Cool," replied Ricky.
"Well, you have to do something for me too," said Kelly.
"What's that?" asked Ricky.
"Get better grades and behave yourself in class," replied Kelly.
"Man, I knew there was a catch," said Ricky.
"It's not really a catch but an agreement," said Kelly
"Yeah, that's what they all say," said Ricky.
"I'll tell you what…while you start behaving and improve your grades, I'll talk to the coach to see what I can do to help you to get onto the team," said Kelly.
"You really think you can convince him to let me play?" asked Ricky.
"I can try," replied Kelly.
"Cool. Alright. Can I go now?" asked Ricky.
"Sure…back to class," replied Kelly.
"Yeah…yeah…yeah," said Ricky quietly to himself.
Ricky gets up and leaves.
Kelly takes a deep breath as she assessed what happened.
That night, Kelly is in bed with her computer and some paperwork scatted on her bed.
Brandon comes in. He sees Kelly's stuff on the bed and wonder how he would get in.
"Any room for me in there?" asked Brandon smiling.
Kelly looks at Brandon with a dazed look.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to take up all your space," said Kelly.
"It's ok. You have more paperwork than I do…and I'm a teacher," joked Brandon as he gets into the bed.
"Yeah, this student that I met with today is piece of work. He's already been in and out of three schools already before transferring to West Beverly," said Kelly.
"So what are you going to do for him?" asked Brandon.
"He loves sports so maybe that'll motivate him to do better in his classes," replied Kelly.
"Ok," said Brandon.
Kelly grabs Ricky's profile and hands it to Brandon.
"What's this?" asked Brandon.
"You might want to see who is this guy," replied Kelly.
Brandon has a confused look and opens up the folder. He looks at the name but is still confused.
"What?" asked Brandon.
"Brandon, look at his last name," replied Kelly.
"Webber?" asked Brandon.
"Yeah," replied Kelly.
"Sorry, I still don't get it. Should I know him?" asked Brandon.
"Well, you don't know him…but you do know of him…..Webber…as in Ross Webber?" asked Kelly.
"Oh; was he your old boyfriend from high school?" asked Brandon.
"Yeah. Now I have to deal with his son," replied Kelly.
"But are you certain that this is the same Ross Webber?" asked Brandon.
"Pretty certain. I would be definite if it shows Ross's date of birth," replied Kelly.
"Ok….even if he is his kid, so what? You don't have to mention it to Ricky," said Brandon.
"Yeah, that's true…but I don't want to get into any of confrontations with Ricky that will cause me to have a parent-teacher conference with him," said Kelly.
"But you are not his teacher," said Brandon.
"You know what I mean. I'll be involved in this either way," said Kelly.
"So what are you going to do?" asked Brandon.
"I thought about trying to move him to a different school so he won't be my problem anymore…but I'm not looking for an easy way out. It's my job to help this kid," said Kelly.
"That's good. Let me know if he becomes a problem," said Brandon.
"Why? What can you do?" asked Kelly smirking.
"Hey, his dad hurt you. I wouldn't mind giving him a piece of my mind," replied Brandon.
"Well, if you only moved to Minnesota a year earlier in high school, I probably would've focus more on you than on him," smiled Kelly.
"How did you just turn this against me?" asked Brandon.
Kelly chuckles.
"I'm just kidding," said Kelly giving Brandon a kiss on the cheek.
"Well now I feel bad for coming into your life a year late," said Brandon.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that. Come here and I can make you feel better," said Kelly pulling Brandon closer for a kiss.
Brandon holds onto Kelly and pulls her closer as they continue to kiss.
Kelly walks to an office. He sees a man in athletic gear facing the other side. The man does not notice her.
Kelly quietly knocks on the door to his attention. The man turns around and sees Kelly.
"Hi Coach Springwell," said Kelly.
"Hello there Ms. Taylor…or should I say Mrs. Walsh," said Coach Springwell.
"Hi," said Kelly.
"You just look glowing today. How much longer?" asked Coach Springwell.
"Oh, about 6 more months," replied Kelly.
"Oh ok…still a while to go…but that's ok," smirked Coach Springwell.
"Please…please…have a seat," added Coach Springwell.
"Thanks," said Kelly as she slowly takes a seat.
"So, what can I do you for?" asked Coach Springwell.
"Well, I have a new student who just transferred to West Beverly and he would love to join the football team," replied Kelly.
"Why sure….We need talent on our teams. Can he play?" asked Coach Springwell.
"Yeah, he feels confident that he really good," replied Kelly.
"Ok. Who is he?" asked Coach Springwell.
"Ricky Webber," replied Kelly.
"Oh um….yeah, I heard of him," said Coach Springwell.
"So you think he can join the team?" asked Kelly.
"Mrs. Walsh. I know you want to help the kid but I don't want to waste your time. He's a lost cause. I've seen his grades. I've seen his records. He won't fit in here," replied Coach Springwell.
"What? What makes you think that of him?" asked Kelly.
"Listen; I was really nice to him. But he was talking back at me; mouthing off. Mutha this; mutha that. He keep bragging about how his dad's the rich mofo who can have my ass fired," replied Coach Springwell.
"Well, he was just mad. I bet I can help him control his temper," said Kelly.
"You and I both know that this a lost cause. We're not doing him a favor if he has a bad attitude," said Coach Springwell.
"Coach Springwell, I know that he gave you a bad impression of himself. But I think that everybody deserves a second chance. Maybe being in this school would be a turning point for him. Maybe having you as a coach would help him become not only a better ball player but a better person too," said Kelly.
Coach Springwell pauses for a moment.
"That's very heartwarming, Mrs. Walsh…..ok, I'll let him play next year if he improves his grades and stay out of trouble," said Coach Springwell.
"Oh; there isn't a chance he can play this year?" asked Kelly.
"I'm sorry; the teams are all set. We're full. Also, the season's almost over," replied Coach Springwell.
"I think he will be willing to play just a game or two. Can he be on some kind of wait list?" asked Kelly.
"Well, we have a second string team for backups…," replied Coach Springwell.
"Perfect," said Kelly.
"But that's full too," said Coach Springwell.
"So, he won't be able to play this year at all?" asked Kelly.
"Nope. Sorry. If he has other sports he interested in, we got basketball in the spring," replied Coach Springwell.
"But his grades has to improve first," added Coach Springwell.
"Ok. Thanks for your time, coach," said Kelly.
"Anytime for you Mrs. Walsh!" said Coach Springwell.
Kelly gets up and gives him a weak smile before leaving.
Kelly is in the principal's office.
"Ms. Taylor, Coach Springwell is correct. The team is full. Besides, if he even gets his grades up, the season would be over already," said Harry.
"I just felt so bad for him. I don't want him to get discouraged and do something that'll get him kicked out of school," said Kelly.
"It's our jobs to help the students. There's only so much we can do for them. We can't bend the rules for someone. You know how many students we've already said no to? Those students have talent too but they are bad kids. We can't help them if they don't want to be helped. We can't keep rewarding these kids for doing well in school. Sometimes getting good grades is a reward in itself," said Harry.
"Just tell him to do better and we'll see what happens next year," added Harry.
"Ok Harry. I think I've tried my best," said Kelly who walks to the door.
"Kelly," said Harry.
Kelly stops by the door and turns around to face Harry.
"I know you're just trying to help. I'm sorry," said Harry.
"Thanks," said Kelly.
Kelly is in her office. Ricky walks in.
"Mrs. Walsh?" asked Ricky.
"Ricky. How are you doing?" asked Kelly.
"I'm doing ok. I just wanted to say thank you for our talk the other day," replied Ricky politely.
Kelly is surprised by Ricky's change of tone from before.
"No problem. Glad we can have that talk," said Kelly.
"So, have you gotten a chance to speak with the coach to possibly getting me some playing time before the season ends?" asked Ricky.
Kelly stands up.
"Ricky, I have spoken to Coach Springwell and Principal Wilson. Unfortunately, we cannot get you into the team this late. I'm very sorry," said Kelly.
"But you said if my grades improve, you can get me in. I've done my work," said Ricky.
"I said I'll try to get you in. But it's really hard to do that when you've transfer to the school a month before the season ends," said Kelly.
"What? So you saying this is my fault that I came to this school too late?" asked Ricky who is raising his voice.
"No, I'm not, Ricky. Please calm down," replied Kelly.
"No, I won't. I kept my end of the bargain. I've busted my ass in doing my work in these boring ass classes just so I can play ball for your school. And you now said you can't make that happen?" asked Ricky.
"Ricky, if you continue to do well, you can try out next year," replied Kelly.
"So I have to wait a year? How do I know if you're lying to me now?" asked Ricky.
"Ricky, I wasn't and am not lying to you. There are policies in this school and we can't change that," replied Kelly.
"So, why did you tell me that I'll get to play?" asked Ricky.
"I didn't. I'm sorry that you misheard me," replied Kelly.
"Nah; I didn't misheard you. I misread you. I thought you were gonna help me out but you just let me down just like everybody else," said Ricky.
Ricky storms out and slams the door behind him. The effect of the slam blew some papers from Kelly's desk to the floor.
Kelly just stands here in frustration. She takes a deep breath and picks up her papers.
Brandon and Kelly are in their bedroom.
"You should've seen the look on his face," said Kelly.
"I can understand why he's disappointed and angry," said Brandon.
"The administration says no and I get blame for this," said Kelly.
"I'm sorry. I wish there was something I can do," said Brandon.
"I know. I wouldn't even think about asking you (even if you could help) after what happen last time when you help a student," said Kelly.
"Oh yea; my acts of generosity turned scandalous. How can I forget about that?" asked Brandon sarcastically.
"Don't worry; I'm not asking," replied Kelly chuckling.
"I'm just worried about going to work tomorrow," said Kelly.
"Did he threaten you or anything?" asked Brandon.
"No; he was just yelling and slammed the door when he left," replied Kelly.
"I've been in situations like this before. But I'm always worried about what's going to happen the next time I see them," said Kelly.
"Do you want to skip tomorrow? You can be in my class if you want," said Brandon.
"Thanks but I can't take the day off. I have too much work to do," said Kelly.
"Besides, I'll have to see him sooner or later. I can't avoid it," added Kelly.
Brandon pulls Kelly closer.
"You're a brave person," said Brandon who gives her a kiss on the cheek.
Kelly gives Brandon a weak smile.
Kelly is in her office.
Harry walks in with Ricky. Kelly looks up and notices.
"Hi," said Kelly.
"Mrs. Walsh, I welcome back to your office, Mr. Webber. Apparently Mr. Webber picked a fight with one of his classmates and threw a book at him," said Harry.
"Yup, got him on the face too. You see I got throwing skills," joked Ricky.
"Quiet down," said Harry.
"Thanks Principal Wilson, I'll take it from here," said Kelly.
"Ok. I'll be by the corner if you need me," said Harry who leaves.
"So what happened?" asked Kelly.
"I don't know what you talking about," replied Ricky.
"Did you start a fight with someone?" asked Kelly.
"No," said Ricky.
"So why did Principal Wilson bring you down here?" asked Kelly.
"Hey, I was minding my own business; you know behaving. And some punk in the class was making fun of me for not making the football team," replied Ricky.
"Did you hit him?" asked Kelly.
"I wasn't going to but he kept on talking stuff to my face. So I did what I had to do," replied Ricky who takes a seat.
"Ricky, you gotta have some self-restraint. You can't afford to get kick out of the school," said Kelly.
"Like I care about that?" asked Ricky.
"What?" asked Kelly.
"What? Don't be pretending like there's no problem between us. I'm still very mad at you," replied Ricky.
"Ricky, I'm sorry for what happened between us but it's really important that you behave in class and get good grades," said Kelly.
"Ok; so what are you going to do for me?" asked Ricky.
"What?" asked replied Kelly.
"Well, you promised me that I can get on the football team. How are you going to make that up for me?" asked Ricky.
"How bout some good lovin?" asked Ricky.
"Ricky, what are you saying?" asked Kelly.
"Oh come on, Ms. Taylor. I know who you really are…just because you changed your last name. I bet you did that just so that people don't know who you really are," replied Ricky.
Kelly has a worried look on her face.
"Ricky, I don't know what you are talking about. But I changed my last name because I got married," said Kelly.
"Too bad changing the name does change the fact that you were a slut," chuckled Ricky.
"Ricky, that's not something you should call someone. Ok? I'm warning you," said Kelly.
"Nah, you are a slut. Don't deny it. My dad's Ross Webber. You know remember him, right? In fact, I bet you knew who I was before we even met. You teased him just like you're teasing me with the football. Except with him, he got that pound of flesh from you. You are nothing but a tease. How many guys did you teased? I'd bet you tease your so-called husband to give you some. I just feel sorry for the guy for knocking you up. That's if he's still with you. If he's smart, he should dump yo sorry ass," said Ricky.
Kelly is speechless...and looks as if she wants to cry.
"Was that your plan, huh? You're trying to use me to get back at him because he dumped yo sorry ass? Yeah, you know I'm right. If not; say something...," said Ricky.
Kelly has tears in her eyes. She doesn't respond.
"I knew it. Yup, I have to admit; you got me good fooling me that I have a chance of making the team. But now I got the upper hand. I know something about you now. Oh man, did the past get caught up to you?" asked Ricky.
Kelly is crying.
"Because I'm going to let everybody know that you are a nothing but a slutty ass bitch!" said Ricky whispering to Kelly.
Harry walks by the door. He stops when he sees Kelly crying.
"What's going here?" asked Harry.
"Go on; tell him. It's the truth," replied Ricky smirking.
Kelly is crying and can't stop herself to answer Harry.
"Ok, Mr. Webber. Go and meet me in my office," said Harry.
"Yes sir," said Ricky who leaves the room.
Harry goes to Kelly and gives her a hug.
Kelly calms down. She grabs a tissue and dries her eyes.
"What happen?" asked Harry.
We see Kelly walking to her car. She gets in and slams the door in anger. Even though she knew those comments that Ricky made wasn't true, never before has someone said such mean things to her face before. She knew she'd heard rumors of her being called a slut but never to her face. She had thought those days were behind her. After making so much improvement in her maturity, a college graduate with a Masters Degree, and becoming a wonderful mother & husband, she never thought she would ever have that feeling of being easy again. Her new reputation meant so much to her. Brandon and Sammy mean everything to her and vice versa. While thinking, she suddenly recalled how Brandon didn't find about that he was the father until years later. That regret still haunts her mind. It's enough to make her go crazy.
She considers going home early and trying to sleep off what just happened. She checks the time to see it's almost noon. She turns on her car and drives off.
She arrives at a school parking lot. The sign reads "California University." She has some great memories at this school and some not so good ones. She got out of the car and walks into the school.
She walks down the halls; she looks at the room numbers. Seeing how the school has changed, she wonders why she hasn't paid a visit sooner.
She stops at the front of one of the rooms. She peeks through the window to find it empty. She turns the knob and opens the door to find someone sitting at a desk by the corner.
"Hi," Kelly.
"Hi," said the student looking at her weirdly.
"Do you know if this is Mr. Walsh's class?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah, that's over already. He let everybody go 10 minutes ago," replied the student.
"Oh ok. Thanks," said Kelly.
Kelly leaves and finds a corner. She takes out her phone and dials a number. We hear the phone goes to voicemail.
She doesn't leave a message and hangs up.
She walks into another room. There is a receptionist in the front.
"Hi, may I help you?" asked the receptionist.
"Hi, is Brandon Walsh here?" asked Kelly.
"Yeah, he's just right down the hall," replied the receptionist.
"Did you want me to call for him or do you want to go in?" asked the receptionist.
"Thanks. I'll just go in," said Kelly.
"Ok. Go on in…..congratulations by the way," smiled the receptionist.
"Oh…thanks," smiled Kelly.
"How much longer?" asked the receptionist.
"6 more months," replied Kelly.
"Great," smiled the receptionist.
Kelly walks in. With the cubicles, she has a little bit of trouble finding Brandon's cubicle. She suddenly hears his voice and she walks towards it.
She got to Brandon's section to see a few students waiting to see Brandon. The cubicle is blocking Brandon and the student so nobody can see them from the outside.
She checks her watch and contemplates what she should do. She eventually takes a seat in the waiting line. She takes out her phone and looks at it.
"You are so wise, Brandon. I wish all my teachers were like you," said the female student who is with Brandon.
Kelly notices but focuses back to her phone.
"Thanks. I appreciate that. But I'm just learning the ropes of being a teacher," said Brandon.
"Oh you're so modest. I've been at this school for a long time and I have never met anyone as smart or as handsome as you," said the female student.
Kelly turns her attention towards Brandon and the student. She looks around and sees that the other students waiting cannot hear since they are on their earphones.
As she started to get angry, she stands up. The other students waiting notices and looks at her. Seeing this, she sits down.
"You know what would be fun?" asked the female student.
A worried look comes on Kelly's face.
Kelly hears the student whispering something to Brandon.
She hears both Brandon and the student quietly chuckling.
A lot of emotions start to run towards Kelly. The chuckling stops but starts up again shortly afterwards. We hear the student getting up from her chair and the sound of her flip flops indicating she's moving closer towards Brandon.
Kelly starts to get teary. She quickly gets up from her chair.
The other students turn and look at her again. Hiding her tears, she turns to the side and quickly walks away.
As she walks out, one of the students pull out his earphone out of one his ears and started to talk with the student next to him.
To be continued…
