Dean clenched the chair's arms, oblivious to the now new blood trickling from his fingers due to the splinters the chair provided. He paid no notice however, as a second, larger and louder explosion went off behind him.

As debris aimlessly erupted, he found himself unable to scream, shout or speak. His heavy and wavering breathing masked the short bursts of realisation that seemed to flood him. He barely even registered Gordon cautiously walking out of his view into the back entrance where the wire had gone off.

When Sam saw the glint in the smirk Gordon showed towards Sam's boot protruding smoke from it, that's when he pointed his gun straight at Gordon's temple, revealing himself to the rogue hunter.

"You wouldn't shoot me now would ya Sammy?" Gordon said slowly, eyes averting Sam's intent gaze.

"Bet." Sam voiced dangerously, cocking the gun.

"You see, your brother thinks you're some kind of saint."

"Yeah? Well I wouldn't be so sure." Sam replied, gun still raised.

"See.. that's what I said."

Before Sam could retaliate, Gordon hooked the arm in which the gun was in, and forced an elbowed punch into Sam's stomach. Trying to ignore the abrupt pain, Sam stumbled backwards, only to be met by an uppercut from Gordon. Feeling an intense pain across his jaw, he didn't have time to respond to a forceful kick against his face, which resulted in him losing his footing and crashing straight through a weak wooden wall.

Shaking his head as black spots crept into his vision, Sam tried not to worry about the metallic taste in his mouth. In those few moments in which he lay dazed, Gordon had shook the fragments of the splintered wood out of his way and began to approach the youngest Winchester.

Bringing out a dagger and pointing it at Sam, he squatted down beside him.

"You're no better than the filthy things you hunt." And with that, Gordon aimed his final blow for Sam's heart, but before the dagger could reach its intended target, Sam managed to catch a firm grip on the arm in which the dagger was in, and mustered his strength into pushing Gordon off from him.

Quickly getting up, Sam staggered towards where now Gordon lay dazed, and landed two forceful punches to his face.

Picking up Gordon's rifle, he pointed it straight between Gordon's eyes, with every fibre in his hunter's instincts telling him to shoot.

"Do it." Gordon breathed out. "Do it!" He said louder in response to Sam's silence. "Show your brother the killer you really are Sammy."

Anger flared through him, and it was taking all he had not to shoot the bastard. He thought of Dean, and what Dean would think. Hell, Dean would probably cheer him if he shot him. But Sam knew that if he did, he was one step closer to the darkness that threatened to engulf him every passing second. Sam never faltered in having faith in his brother, and he knew that if he did become the next thing Dean would feel compelled to hunt, Dean would do his best to save him before the inevitable kill. But that wasn't going to happen. And certainly not today.

Bringing the rifle upwards, Sam slammed the but of it into Gordon's face, rendering him unconscious.

He stood breathing heavily for a moment, trying to regain his composure after the dragged out fight.

"It's Sam."

Sam walked out the room towards where his older brother was still gagged and tied, leaving behind an unconscious Gordon, or so he thought…

What do ya think? Also, this will have a twist than to the original episode, so look out for that!
