7. Diamond
"What is that?! It's huge!" Jack stared wide eyed at the object in Chase's hand and gasped, he was completely overwhelmed.
"You said you always wanted one, so I had one made for you." Chase held his hands out to the goth in order for Jack to take the cane from him. Jack took the cane gently into his hands and rotated to look at the top.
On it was a dragon that was completely made out of diamond and gold. The shaft was black ebony with a gold tip grip. The dragon had ruby eyes and golden claws. The detail looked immaculate and the diamond dragon's tail wrapped around the top of shaft of the cane.
"It's… Amazing!" Chase smirked.
"I'm glad it is to your liking. As it is for our anniversary after all…" Chase wanted to laugh as Jack paled in comparison to his usual pale tone.
"Oh no… It completely slipped my mind! Oh gosh, Chase! I'm so sorry."
"I knew you would, you have been busy as of late. But to be honest, I am not one for sentimentality. It was merely for your benefit." Jack pouted at the honest admission.
"Not the point though, now I feel guilty." Chase chuckled at the pout and bent down slightly to kiss the pouting lips.
"I can think of a few things you can make up for it." Chase grinned like a sleeze and Jack snorted.
"Fine." Jack then grinned back.
"First one to the bedroom is in charge!" And with that the genius took off. Chase snorted and merely transported himself there.
That boy will learn eventually that he will always have the upper hand. Funny how one of the meanings behind a diamond is fearlessness. As much as Jack is a scaredy cat, once he put his mind to something, he was off.
Jack would learn to use his creativity in better ways to come…
8. Sapphire
"Hey, Denahi?" Jack called over to the black panther who was lounging around nearby. The cat lifted his head and waited for his younger master to continue.
"Come here?" The panther stood, stretched and padded over to Jack that was sat crossed legged on the carpet where he had notebooks and textbooks laid out in front of him.
"Something that just came to the front of my mind and I was just curious. You are the only cat with a collar. How come?" The panther turned human, an almost doppelganger of Chase.
"Well, to be honest with you, you know my story of being a Prince?" Jack nodded, he liked Denahi's story, it was very much like Prince and the Pauper. Except the twin or doppleganger was Chase Young himself.
"All I asked for in return for the swap and my loyalty to him, to get away from the establishment I was about to take over… was to simply keep my Mother's necklace." Jack pouted at the sad fact.
"Seemed like a steal for Master Chase. But watching him burn my legacy down was the steal for me. They killed my Mother when my still born younger brother was born (they thought she was in league with an evil entity then) and my Father was a spineless swine… Chase could take the royalty for all I cared. I even begged him to tear it down with no mercy!" There was a chuckle from the hallway.
"And since his loyalty from day one, I put a spell on the necklace to change to a collar whenever he morphed back and forth." Denahi bowed his head.
"Forgive me, Master. Master Jack wanted a conversation. I thought this was easier." Chase waved a hand as a gesture of being unbothered.
"You know, you are the only one to morph as you wish. You are the longest loyal one here." Denahi nodded in acknowledgement and seemed grateful.
"Why the sudden interest, Jack?" Denahi turned his attention back to the genius and Jack realised he was distracted by the warlord's presence.
"Oh I was just wondering about why the… is it blue sapphire?" Denahi gently took off the necklace and presented it to Jack so he could take a closer look. Jack took it delicately and took a good look at it.
"Yes, it is blue Sapphire. It's always been a jewel that represents royalty. It was also my Mother's favourite." Jack turned it slowly in his hands then gave back the rather expensive looking jewellery.
"Thank you." Denahi then put it back on. "I suppose part of me is still the Prince. But it's more of a remembrance for my Mother." Jack smiled, that made more sense. Denahi, although Chase's evil henchman, was a good person but broken.
"What are you working on, Spicer?" Jack almost forgot Chase was there.
"Oh, a few ideas I had put to one side that I never finished. Was going through them to see what was worth keeping or to simply scrap." Chase hummed in thought.
"That is a good idea. You can throw them in the fireplace if you wish."
"Okay!" Denahi then chose to change into his black panther form, padding over to his Master for a pet before going back to his nap.
"Do not spend too long on this, Spicer, we have training soon." Jack groaned, already dreading it.
"Yeah okay, give me… twenty minutes? Don't have a lot here." Chase nodded and left Jack to it.
"Okay… Laser goggles or sound cannon?"
9. Jade
"Jack, hurry up!" Jack groaned, but trudged on unenthusiastically. He loved his Dad, he really did, but the archeologist always took him on the most boring journeys and archeology digs, where he mostly was seeing whether rocks were really rocks or pottery.
"Dad, where are you taking me?" Michael turned around and grinned at his son.
"I promise, son, the trek is well worth it. You can pass on the wondrous discovery with Chase if you wish." Jack smiled, his parents were wonderful in regards to accepting Jack as who he was. Coming out as evil and gay, his parents just smiled and told him they loved him no matter what. What was more than surprising to Jack was that his parents were also Heylin. Michael was looking for some Jade dragon and Serena, Jack's Mom, wanted to find the fountain of youth. When Jack told them about Chase and the Xiaolin/Heylin life he was living, they knew that immortality was a thing. Jack realised that his parents were just as selfish as he was.
"I'm glad you accepted Chase, it means a lot to me." Michael gave his son a soft look.
"The one thing you can be certain of, Jack, is that your Mother and I love you. No matter what." Jack caught up with his Dad and gave the man a hug, to which Michael accepted happily.
"Okay, enough sappiness! Let's march forward!" Jack shook his head at his old man but carried on any way. About twenty minutes into the tunnel, Michael suddenly sped up.
"It's this way! We're almost there!" Jack's eyes widened at the man's enthusiasm but ran to catch up. Jack saw his Father come to a stone door and stood on one side of it and pulled on the handle.
"Help me, Jack." Jack grabbed the handle also and helped his Father pull. The door opened with a bit of difficulty but eventually gave way to the force. Jack pulled out a wooden wedge from his backpack and wedged it underneath the stone door to prop it open.
Jack turned to look into the room they had opened up and completely gasped. Jade everywhere!
Jade columns. Floor and wall tiles. Jade statues of people that Jack didn't recognise. Jade boxes that were dusty from time being unused. A jade throne stood at the end of the room and Jack ran towards it as it looked like it held a jade figure on it.
Jack laughed, completely overwhelmed by his Father's discovery.
"Is that who I think it is?" Michael grinned and chuckled at his Son's outburst.
"I wanted to ask you to see if it was. As much as I know Chase does pride himself on image and his skills, I wasn't sure if Chase would want this. If it was him of course."
Jack knew it was Chase, but it looked less like the Chase he knew. The statue looked more like the monk the warlord once was.
Jack rummaged through his backpack again for a special device that he and Chase had been working on.
"What's that?" Michael was always curious as to what his son made.
"Think of it like a phone, but it has magical abilities. So no worries for no signal or whatever." Michael blinked at the matter of fact answer.
"Cool."
Jack programmed the device and a screen pop out and it showed the dragon warlord himself.
"Before you get all territorial, Chase, I know I said for emergencies only. But I had to show you this!" Jack then turned the device round to show Chase the throne.
"Well I'll be damned." Chase seemed quite surprised and seemed quite pleased Jack had called.
"So it is you? Would you mind if Dad excavated it for his dig or would you want it before he takes the rest of the find?" Michael then popped up next to Jack so he was on screen as well.
"Ah Chase, how are you?" Both men smiled at each other respectfully.
"I'm very good, Michael. Thank you. To answer you, Jack, I have no need for it. Jade was once a protective gem back in the old times. I do not really care for it now." Chase seemed happy for Michael to do as he wished.
"However, if I do remember correctly, there should be a box of scrolls there. It's light enough to be carried. Should have about five scrolls in. They have spells in them. I've forgotten about them until now." Jack and Michael got to work looking around for the said box and Jack looked under the throne.
"Is this it?" Jack showed the box, flipping the camera again to show Chase.
"Ah yes. That's it. If you could bring that back with you, I'd appreciate it, Jack." Michael pulled it out and placed the box into Jack's backpack. Jack groaned at the weight.
"Thought you said it was light?!" Chase chuckled at the complaint.
"Well for a normal person at least." Michael chuckled also.
"I await your return, Spicer. Enjoy your time with your Father. Jade is also a nurturing stone, it can also mean love and luck and friendship." Jack visibly gagged.
"Ew. No stop. I love my Dad, but yeah no…" Michael feigned being hurt at the comment.
"Aww, Jack, I thought we were bonding!" Jack grinned at the whining.
"Dad you know I'm playing." Michael laugh wholeheartedly.
"Ah Michael, there should be a small round box somewhere in one of the columns. You may give that to your wife if you wish?" Chase's voice echoed through the room from the device.
"Oh?" Michael's keen eyes started to check each of the eight columns in the room.
Upon looking at the third one, he found an indentation. It looked to be a mechanism.
"Jack, could you come here with your device? Chase, is this just a switch or is it like a puzzle to crack?" Jack showed the column to the device.
"Ah, just a switch." Michael opened the column and in it as Chase said was a small round box.
Michael took it and opened the box. Inside was a beautiful jade pendant sans the chain. It was an oval shape with intricate silver design of a phoenix and a dragon, they looked to be dancing across the surface.
"How stunning! Oh she'll love this! Thank you, Chase!" Jack had to agree and smiled down at the screen to look at his own love.
"I'll see you soon, Chase. Gunna help, Dad some more. I'm glad I got to see this and to see you." Chase smirked.
"See you soon, my love."
The screen switched off and deactivated itself.

Diamond - I can't be the only one where Jack wants to look like a proper distinguished gentleman at least just once in his life with a coat with tails, a black suit and a cane with a top hat to boot? Just me?
Sapphire - Denahi is back! And of course Jack would be curious for the sake of it.
Jade - I know! Stereotypical! Chinese - Jade… Had to be done! :D
Another one done!
Any stones or gems you want me to do next?
