The Mighty Shrimp were riding the bus on their trip back home. Everyone excitedly talking about their amazing week or what they had missed back in Seabrook. There was only one person on Addison's mind. Addison had had lots of fun and wouldn't have given it up for anything, but she really wanted to see Zed's handsome smile as soon as possible.

A few seats away from Bree and Addison, Carter shouted out excitedly. "Yes! I got invited to Prawn!" He turned to hug his girlfriend Zia sitting next to him as everyone clapped and let out a round of awes.

Bree whispered to Addison. "Oh speaking of, I almost forgot to tell you, we've been so busy, Bonzo asked me to Prawn!"

They both turned their heads to the back where Bonzo was sitting, but his head was tilted down, though Addison had a feeling he must be working on something.

"When was this? How did he do it? Give me details Bree!" Addison smiled excitedly.

"Well, it was that night you caught us outside, and after you left, I wanted to just go back inside, but before we did, Bonzo just asked me and I of course said yes, so we shared another hug before going back inside."

"No invitation to Prawn for me. But it could be in the recycling bin for all I know. Do you think Zed will be mad at me if he thinks I never wrote him anything?"

"Don't be ridiculous Addison. You might need to keep him away from the Aceys, but I've never seen him mad at you. You have nothing to worry about. He'll understand, especially with your evidence."

"You're probably right."

"And I bet Zed will probably ask you the first ten seconds he sees you. That is if he doesn't go down on one knee to make sure you two can never be separated again." Bree joked.

"Come on, he won't be that bad." Addison brushed some hair out her face in embarrassment.

"Addison you were practically that bad this week, and I've already checked in with Eliza, she texted this back."

Thank Z you guys are coming back, Zed's been driving me crazy with how much he misses Addison. He literally can't do anything without talking about her. Plus his stupid mopey face makes me want to sock him so bad to try to snap out of it.

"OK, maybe you're right if a little exaggerated. Did you tell her about the letters? So maybe Zed won't be panicking as much when I see him again."

"Oops sorry I forgot. We're almost home so you can just tell him yourself. I bet he'll climb through the window to see you sooner."

"And just how many nights did you sneak out to see Bonzo hmm?"

"We weren't doing anything besides talking. And what makes you think we snuck out more than once?" Bree tried to deny.

"I only caught you once, but I know you had plenty of date nights. I won't judge, I love spending as much time with my zombie as possible too." Addison playfully nudged her best friend.

Little did they know, a tripwire was strung through the middle of the road and as the bus rolled over it a chain reaction occurred., revealing a hand-painted wooden sign.

Bonzo who had been warned earlier that day with a text from Zed, pointed out the window to grab everyone's attention. "Zarugala!"

Addison and Bree turned and looked back at Bonzo, then turned to each other, a bit confused, before they followed Bonzo's pointing finger out the window.

Bree let out a gasp of surprise. "Addison will you" she slowly read.

"Go to the Prawn?" The whole bus chorused, everyone's attention was now focused outside the windows as they passed the second sign.

By now Bree and Addison were both grinning in excitement. "With!" Bree shouted excitedly, nudging Addison's shoulder.

Addison was smiling, straining her eyes to look ahead, but then it broke into a shout of fear as she finally found the one person she had been looking for. "Zed!" she screamed in fright.

Zed's back was turned, standing on top of a ladder in the middle of the road under the last sign with a brightly lit arrow pointing directly at him. With the bus driver looking distractedly out the side window, still searching for the next sign, they failed to notice how close they were getting.

Zed finally heard the bus coming, and seeing that it wasn't stopping, only had time to say. "Uh Oh." To himself.

Now everyone on the bus started screaming in fear as they quickly approached the ladder. Addison could see Zed letting out a shout of fright as well on top of the ladder.

The bus slammed into the ladder, knocking Zed off it, and Zed disappeared from view. Addison was really panicking now. Everyone on the bus was screaming, and Addison had no clue where Zed had gone. Had they run him over? Was he laying in the middle of the road somewhere with broken bones? Was his Z-band damaged? Her heart started pumping even faster as she started imagining every possible terrible scenario.

The bus driver also seemed to be panicking, he was swerving back and forth along the road, thankfully no other cars were coming, but everyone was still screaming their heads off as they were tossed from side to side within the bus.

Suddenly Zed appeared, hanging from the roof right outside Addison's window. "Zed!" She called out. Her eyes lit up when she saw him. She stood up shakily from her seat and placed her hand against the glass.

When Zed's eyes met hers, they lost their edge of panic for a moment and he revealed his handsome smile. "Hi." She could just barely hear him through the glass and all the screams on the bus. He placed one hand over hers on the other side of the glass.

But then two seconds later he lost his grip on the roof and fell to the ground. Addison tried to follow him with her eyes, but all she could see before she lost sight of him was his body lying facedown on the ground. "No Zed!" She shouted again. He has to be alright, he's strong and has zombie healing. He'll be perfectly fine. Addison tried to reassure herself.

But then the bus took a turn for the worse, having lost most of their control, the bus driver overcorrected on a turn, instead making a hard right off the road and bursting through the forest. Crushing everything in its path, the whole bus was shaking on the uneven ground, everyone was thrown forward from rapidly traveling downhill. Bree and Addison both instinctively ducked their heads down, but still, all Addison could think about was Zed. She hit her head on the seat in front of her and felt tears building, but they weren't for her, they were for Zed.

Finally, the bus came to stop. Everyone slowly and shakily looked around, lightly feeling themselves and each other in the reassurance that they were all alive.

"Is everybody OK?" someone asked, Addison couldn't tell in all the confusion.

Then Bucky burst out of his seat, screaming his head off. "AHH! Nothing can happen to me! I am way too important." Bucky ran down the aisle to the back of the bus and leaped out of the emergency exit.

"Everyone stay calm!" Addison stood up and shouted out. She knew in a moment of crisis like this she had to project confidence.

"Great leadership Addie." Bree whispered to her. "Very cheer captain of you." Addison looked around for a moment, and it seemed like everyone was OK, just shaken up, before she remembered the one who would always be the most important to her. "Zed!" she shouted, eyes widening in realization and worry. "Bree, can you handle everything here?"

"Don't worry Addison, I got this. You go find him."

Addison ran off the bus, the same way Bucky did, but landed on her feet in a perfect cheer dismount. She could see Bucky still lying facedown in the dirt. "You OK Bucky?" She asked him bending down for a moment.

"Yeah, I'm Fine. I'm…cheer…cheertastic as ever Cuz." Bucky shakily stood up.

"OK, I need to go find Zed." Addison ran deeper into the forest on the same path the bus tore through it, not noticing Bucky immediately falling flat on his face again.

Addison found a deserted clearing, but right as she entered it, a tree branch tore her jacket and scratched her arm. "Agh" she groaned in pain. She looked down at her arm, and the pain quickly faded. But when she looked up she started to hear something around her.

It sounded like hurried footsteps surrounding her, and quick whispers between the trees. "Who's there? Zed!" She called out. "Who's there?" She looked all around herself in every direction. The footsteps were getting closer, and she could swear she could see movement between the trees.

"Hello? Does anybody hear me?" She called out again. "Zed?"

Through the leaves, she caught a glimpse of something running by her. Then another dark shadow within a forest of shadows in the rapidly growing dusk.

Then on a pile of rocks behind her, she saw two figures jump out. In the gloom, she still couldn't get a clear look at them. Then she saw another, and another, surrounding her and letting out harsh growls. Addison's breath caught in her throat, she was absolutely terrified.

Then a new figure stepped into a pillar of moonlight shining through the trees. A tall, dark-skinned, and dark maned girl with flashing yellow eyes let out a loud "Awwoooo!" that was answered in a chorus all around her. Then as soon as they appeared they were all gone. Addison seemed to be all alone again as she turned herself around looking every which way.

Then something placed a hand on her shoulder. "AHHH!" Addison screamed and turning to reflexively defend herself, she released a powerful right hook right in her attacker's face.

"Uggh!" Her opponent yelled out, flinching away from her, and grabbing his nose.

But by then Addison's brain caught up with what her eyes were seeing in front of her and she let out the happiest smile she had days. "Zed!" She screamed in delight, and let out a short giggle of laughter. Before reaching up to wrap her arms over his shoulders in a hug.

Zed leaned down to return the hug. "I missed you too." Addison could practically hear the relieved smile on his face.

Both were resting their heads on the other's shoulders, and both were immediately calmed. This is where I belong, right here in your arms. Addison thought to herself, as she breathed in his familiar scent, and heard his slow, but powerful heartbeat beneath his cool skin. She never wanted to let go, and Zed was holding her just as tightly. She couldn't stop the smile on her face as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the peacefulness she always felt whenever they were together.

"There they are!" They finally separated when Addison heard the cheerleaders walking toward them. Then she looked down and was surprised to find Zoey standing right beside her brother.

"Zoey? What are you doing here?"

"I was helping Zed out. Surprise!" Zoey shouted, tossing up a small cloud of confetti. "Did you like it?"

"It was great. But we're not alone." Addison said, still looking around nervously. "We're surrounded by…werewolves." Addison whispered to them. Zed's face fell.

"Cool!" Zoey shouted in excitement.

"What? Wolves!" Stacey shouted.

"What wolves?" Lacey asked.

"Here wolves?" Jacey yelled.

"Werewolves!" They all shouted and pretty soon the entire cheer squad was panicking. Everyone pulled out their phones and quickly started texting and calling their parents for help.

"Nobody's gonna believe this." Zed said to himself.

"Hold on. Nobody panic. "Bree shouted. "Just stay calm, and wait for me and Addison to call the school so they can send another bus. Addison do you want to do that, or should I?"

"I got it Bree, you try to handle the team."

Addison dialed Principal Lee and explained that the bus crashed and they needed a pickup. Principal Lee promised to send a new bus right away and that she would inform all the parents.

Then Bree and Addison tried to get everyone to calm down, and most eventually listened, but Bucky and the Aceys weren't really helping, shouting about how they were all too pretty to be eaten, plus Bucky made the Aceys and some other squad members form a human shield around him with himself in the middle.

Most of the zombies were acting more calmly, if not a little nervous. Zed and Zoey were a big help with that. Zoey was so excited about possibly making a new friend that some of the zombie cheerleaders started to think they could be friendly too. Zed just reassured them all that he hadn't seen anything, and that if any monsters attacked, they all had their own powers to fight back if needed.

Eventually, a bus did arrive and everyone was on their way back to the school. Bree was sitting with Bonzo in the very back. Sharing an intense whispered Zombietongue conversation. While Zed, Zoey, and Addison were sharing a seat. Zed had his arm wrapped protectively around both of his girls.

When they got on the road, Addison asked him. "Are you OK?"

"Yeah of course I am. I promise no werewolves bit me. Is that how they turn you? Or is that just vampires? Of course, that's a myth with zombies by the way."

"No, I'm talking about being hit by the bus. With everything, I almost forgot about it."

"Yeah don't worry. Zombie strong. With Zombie healing, I'm already good as new. No road rash or anything. Zed showed her his arms, which had some slight bruising but looked relatively fine."

"What even happened?"

"Well thanks to Zoey and Eliza I had the perfect plan, but I guess I didn't have the best timing. So I turned around and the bus was coming so I shouted really loud."

"You screamed like a little girl." Zoey said.

"Well, who wouldn't? The bus knocked the ladder out from under me, but I was able to grip the roof then I slid all over the place, then I saw you at the window, then I lost my grip and tumbled on the road, but I promise you I am perfectly fine."

"Good, as long as you're sure, I'm sure we can go to the hospital if you need it."

"Don't worry Addie, I promise I'm fine."

Zed rubbed his hand up and down her arm. Before he stopped with a look of fear on his face. "Wait a minute, did one of the wolves attack you, are you hurt?" Zed shouted, once again sounding panicked as he lightly touched the rip in Addison's cheer jacket.

"No don't worry, it wasn't a wolf, it was just a tree. I'm perfectly fine."

"OK good. So anyway will you-"

Just then Addison's phone started ringing. "It's my mom, she's probably just heard the news. Hi Mom." she said. "Don't worry everything's fine. Nobody's hurt."

Zed just watched her speak on the phone for a while. Missy had a million questions for Addison, but thankfully after the first 10 minutes, she moved on to asking about cheer camp, rather than the bus crash and about the possible werewolves.

Soon they returned to the school and a crowd of worried parents was waiting including Addison's parents who hugged her tightly.

"You sure you're alright?" Dale asked, wrapping her in a hug.

"Yes Dad, don't worry I was scared but I promise I'm perfectly fine."

"Good. Do you two need a ride home?" Dale asked Zed and Zoey finally noticing them. "Wait a minute, I'm pretty sure you're not cheerleaders. Sorry, high school cheerleaders." Dale amended seeing Zoey's indignant face.

"Oh…I…just couldn't wait to see Addison, and she called me after the crash so I ran out to meet her and rode the bus back. And Zoey wanted to come too. Right Zoey?"

"Yep."

"OK well, I'm sure Zevon's worried about you two, so we can give you a ride back to Zombietown." Missy offered.

"Thanks Missy. Thanks Dale."

After checking one last time with Bree and Principal Lee that everything was good Addison went home with her parents after dropping off Zed and Zoey. She took a long shower to destress after her exciting day and was glad to be back in her own bed, even if she wished she had someone else to share it with. The werewolves had freaked her out, but now she was wondering if there was something more going on if the legendary monsters were just as real as zombies. She went to sleep after texting Zed goodnight, wondering what they must really be like.

Monday morning, the first day of school after spring break ended was tense. Rumors and questions were flying all around the halls as the news about the werewolves spread like wildfire. It was all anyone was talking about. And since Addison was the only actual eyewitness, (no matter what heroics Bucky claimed) she was bombarded with questions all day. So much so that Zed barely had a chance to say two words to her all day. And he really wanted to talk to her. As the day wore on, both the human and zombie populations were getting more and more scared as their fear spread, many people on the verge of panic already. After school let out that day, most of the town's population traveled to City Hall to attend the meeting to discuss the werewolf threat.

The seats at the City Council meeting were packed to the brim, a sea of pink, blue and green. Zed was sitting with his dad and Zoey, and one thing he couldn't help but notice was how spread out and intermingled the humans and zombies were, just another sign that things were getting better. He thought proudly to himself.

"Werewolves are Real!" He heard Bucky shout from a few rows away, as usual, surrounded by the Aceys. "I always, always, said the stories of monsters in the forest were real. And no one believed me!" Bucky abruptly sat down and pouted.

Zoey's view was much more optimistic. "Please can I have one? I'm the only zombie in my class. A werewolf friend would be great. I'll feed them, and walk them." She asked looking up at Zevon.

"Werewolves ain't class pets Zoey, and they certainly ain't friendly." Zevon said, patting her on her back.

"And Zoey you like all your friends, don't you? You always come home saying how fun school is."

"Yeah, but it would be nice not to be the only one that's different."

Zed didn't know what to think, he hadn't seen any werewolves himself, but he had heard the howls as he had followed the trail towards Addison. Out in the woods, the smells and sounds of nature covered up his advanced senses, although he could lock on to Addison's pounding heartbeat once he got close enough. That was a beacon he would gladly follow anywhere. Looking back it was entirely his fault that she punched him, and then of course having her in his arms was everything he had missed these last two weeks. He could have stood there forever, listening to her heart slowly calm down. And smelling the sweet scent of her beautiful hair, when she was in his arms, nothing else mattered to him.

Finally, Zed caught sight of Addison walking in with her parents. Even over the noisy crowd, he could still zero in on her voice.

"I'm OK." she was reassuring her parents for the hundredth time.

Bucky jumped down from his seat to butt into the conversation, throwing his arm protectively over Addison's shoulder. "Aunt Missy, Uncle Dale, the crash was horrible, but I protected Addison. Anyone who's as courageous as me would have done the same. Though not really I am super brave."

Addison had turned away and catching Zed's eye, she rolled her eyes at Bucky's valiant tale of heroics.

Zed just shrugged and smiled back at her in a what can you do gesture.

"Mom, Dad, everything is perfectly fine."

"It's not fine there are werewolves circling us right now, waiting to attack." Dale said with anger and fear in his voice.

"Yeah and I'm way too tasty. I'm always looking like a snack. Somebody has to do something." Bucky told them, his voice hardening.

"And someone will. Hold my purse." Missy agreed as she marched up to the podium in front of the rest of the City Council members. Dale taking the last seat at the table, holding onto the purse.

Missy loudly banged her gavel, asking for the crowd to quiet. "By order of the City Council, effective immediately, select Anti-Zom— Anti-Monster Laws are reinstated." She banged her gavel one last time in emphasis with a confident smile on her face.

The crowd's reaction was immediate. Many of the citizens in attendance, including many of the cheerleaders, gave a round of excited applause at the news. The zombies and many of their friends looked around at each other either devastated or confused asking themselves why this was happening.

Missy continued her announcement. "Zombies will still be allowed to attend school, and perform their normal work assignments. But free travel between Zombietown and Seabrook will be limited to only those activities with only official permission from the Z-Patrol. The curfew will be reinstated between the hours of 7 pm and 7 am beginning tonight. Any extracurricular school activities that do not fit within the curfew times are no longer allowed for Zombies. Humans are not allowed to enter Zombietown without official authorization. Z-Patrols will be stepped up to keep our community safe. Zombies will expect higher security within Zombietown and checkpoints will be set up at the barrier. These laws will be in effect indefinitely until the City Council decides they are no longer needed to keep our community safe."

Zed's mind immediately went to two places. No how can this be happening again? And also, that it was either really bad or really good that Eliza wasn't here, he honestly had no clue which though. Looking down at the City Council, Zed could tell by the looks on their faces most of them would be hard to persuade, least of all Missy and Dale.

Addison, still standing by the front row, wouldn't be contained. "No that is unfair!" She yelled at her mom.

Missy's only response was to turn to her and send a zip-it gesture her way.

Zed ran down the steps and circled his way in front of Addison.

"Zed we need to talk."

"Yeah, we do, even though you didn't write or answer any of my letters."

"No, I did. I wrote, a lot." Addison insisted before she reached down into the cheer bag by her feet and pulled out two bundles of pink and green shredded paper. "The Aceys shredded all of our letters." Addison growled out.

Zed looked down, slightly confused, following Addison as she turned towards the Aceys with a glare.

The Aceys though looked proud of themselves, Lacey and Stacey gave each other a high five, and so did Tracey and…wasn't that Kevin? Was he an Acey now too?

Zed felt a small growl rumble in his chest but he quickly turned his attention back to Addison. He thought to himself, just another way Eliza was always right, and hey that meant she didn't forget about him. This was the best news he had all day, hopefully, though it was about to get even better. He's been trying to talk to her alone since she got back, and this looked like as good of a place as any.

Zed got down on one knee, so that for once it was him looking up to meet Addison's eyes, with a happy smile on his face that he carefully controlled so he wouldn't look completely crazy. "Addison, will you make me the luckiest zombie…"

Addison looked down at him, wide-eyed with confusion covering her expression, having no idea what he was about to say.

"And be my date to Prawn?" Zed finally let his fully excited smile show. He was thinking to himself, Yes I finally did it, step one to getting on the Prawn Wall of Fame.

Addison looked at him with a small smile, but then she shook her head, her smile dropping into a frown. "No."

"Great we'll-No?" Zed was stunned speechless. His thoughts and heart began racing a million miles an hour, while his stomach dropped to the floor. Oh ztergoge, what is happening? How? What? Why? She said no? Was it something I said? Did I do something wrong? This can't be happening! What's going on? Did she forget about me at Cheer Camp? Is that why she never wrote? Is she going with someone else? Did someone ask her at Cheer Camp? What did I do wrong?

She rushed out, "Everyone's freaking out about werewolves so the Anti-Monster Laws are in effect again. Which means-"

"Zombies can't go to Prawn. Ouch!" Bucky happily interrupted.

"But we're gonna fight this Zed." Addison promised, determination steeling her features and crystal blue eyes.

"OK. So that's why you said no?"

"Yeah, of course."

Zed's thoughts lost their panicked edge as he absorbed the new information. OMZ, It's OK, everything will be fine. It's just the stupid monster laws. We've beaten them before. I know I can do this. I can still give her the perfect Prawn Night. Zed's heart rate slowed to its normal snail's pace as he calmed down just as fast as he had been worked up in fear. Zed couldn't stop the giant grin from breaking out on his face.

"Why are you smiling?" Addison asked, now looking even more confused.

"Because when you said no, I thought you didn't like me anymore. But the only problem here is a bunch of bloodthirsty werewolves. We can so fix that!" Zed looked excited again, and Addison couldn't help but match his excited grin.

"Come here." Addison said, pulling him closer to her with a laugh. "I promise you. I want to go to Prawn with you more than anything. You were the only thing I thought about besides cheerleading for the past two weeks. Bree and Bonzo can vouch for that."

"Trust me. Eliza threatened to bury me on the beach to shut me up. Now that I think about it, maybe that's why Zoey did it. All I want is to give you the most amazing Prawn Night."

"I know. I won't say yes until I know for sure we can go to Prawn together. And if we can't I'm sure we can find something else to do that night. Prawn doesn't matter to me. Only you do. Gar Gar Gaza Zed." Addison hugged him tightly.

"Gar Gar Gaza Addie. I've been waiting so long to hear those words from you again. But I promise I will get us to the Prawn, but in the meantime. I'll take those." Zed reached down to pick up the shredded letters. "I will put these back together eventually so we can both read everything we wanted to tell each other."

"Oh yeah, speaking of which, apparently the Aceys also read most of them."

"I am so sorry. I knew I shouldn't have put certain things in there, but I thought maybe that would grab your attention enough to get you write back."

"It's alright, I tried to jolt you to action with some fond memories too. I think I have them squared away for now."

"So I'm assuming they lost their bid for captains again?"

"You have no idea. They will not be assistant captains for a long time. So how was your spring break?"

"Longest two weeks of my life without you, but I still had plenty of fun with Zoey and Eliza. And Pops loves his new job already. At least they aren't taking that away." Zed admitted, but ever the optimist tried to look on the bright side.

"I promise Zed, we will fight this. Starting tonight." Addison said, looking over at her parents who were answering questions.

Later that night, when Addison, Missy, and Dale got home, Missy and Dale entered the kitchen to start preparing dinner, but Addison marched in and interrupted them.

"Mom! Dad! Why are you doing this?"

"Doing what? Do you not want spaghetti tonight?" Missy asked.

"No, why are you enforcing the Monster Laws again?"

"You've seen the panic all over town. Something had to be done to make our people feel safe. Reinstituting the Monster Laws is the best way to promote safety." Missy informed her.

"They aren't monster laws, I heard you slip in your speech. They're all anti-zombie laws. None of the zombies did anything wrong. They shouldn't be punished."

Dale tried to placate her. "They aren't being punished, we're just heightening security to make sure everyone is safe and sound. The Z-Patrol will be on the lookout for any werewolves invading at night, and if we enforce the curfew again it will keep all the zombies safe at home and out of the Z-Patrol's way."

"Then why isn't there a human curfew? Why not keep everyone safe?"

"Because people are more used to their freedom of movement. The zombies are already used to their curfew, it wouldn't burden them as much, and all their jobs already fall into the curfew times, which isn't a guarantee for people." Missy calmly explained.

"So you won't admit that this is all just your zombiephobia all over again? And by the way, Zombies are people too. I thought you learned that."

"No Addison it is not, and it is not just me and your father, with all the panic in the streets, something had to be done, and the City Council agreed." Missy continued to defend herself, her voice hardening in annoyance. "This is completely necessary for the safety of Seabrook until this werewolf issue is dealt with. And I'm sorry, I meant humans. Of course, the zombies are just as much a part of our community. That's why we want what's best for them."

"Is this about me and Zed?" Addison asked slowly, her own voice hardening in response.

Dale tried to reassure her. "No of course not. We like Zed. And we know how important he is to you, and how much you care about him. I promise Addison, this isn't about you and Zed. You can still see each other at school, we aren't trying to split you two up or anything."

"Did you know he asked me to the Prawn? But I had to say no because he no longer can go because of your stupid laws."

"No we didn't and Addison these laws aren't stupid, they are here to keep everyone, zombies and humans, all safe. You have three more years of Prawns to go. I'm sorry, but you'll just have to go with someone else this year. Missy still refused to back down.

"Why would I want to go with anyone else? The reason Zed was on the bus yesterday was that he put so much effort into his Prawnposal, he walked out into the woods in the middle of nowhere to set everything up and it almost went perfectly but the bus crashed right before he could finish."

"I think we understand Zed would do anything for you, but Addison we aren't budging on this. This is for the safety of the entire town. Seabrook needs to be calmed down, and the only way we could do that was to make everyone feel safe, secure, and strong. Now, how about you go start some homework or something so I can prepare dinner." Missy suggested.

"Fine." Addison marched out of the kitchen and up to her room and tried to focus on homework with very little success before coming back down to eat a tense, quiet dinner with her parents.

Later that night Addison called Zed just like she always did.

"My parents aren't going to change anything, they claim none of this is about the zombies, or me and you, but I don't believe them."

"Your night sounded just as good as mine then. Eliza is pissed. I'm surprised she hasn't kicked down your door to yell at your parents."

"Does she have any ideas yet? My only plan was to try to convince my parents but that's a dead-end, and it sounds like the rest of the City Council is united with them."

"I don't know, maybe by now. She was already trying to organize a school walkout over the powerplant, but she's shelved that idea to focus on all of this. Principal Lee sent me an email that there will be an assembly tomorrow that I'll have to speak at to try to calm everyone at school."

"That's a start at least. Keep me updated if Eliza decides anything. I'm prepared to do anything."

"I know you are."

"And sorry everything's been so…crazy. I should have thanked you for all the work you put into planning your prawnposal, even if it didn't quite go according to plan. You took my breath away both times. I only wish I could go with you."

"Don't worry, between you, me, Eliza, Bree, Bonzo and everyone else, we can't lose. It's a short race but I know we can think of something."

"And if not, we can all find something just as memorable on our own."

"Gar Gar Gaza Addie. Goodnight."

"Gar Gar Gaza Zed. Goodnight."

When Addison laid down to sleep, she reviewed everything that had happened that day. Most importantly Zed. When he got down on one knee in front of her, all she could think was. What is he doing? No Bree was just joking, right? He can't have missed me that much, can he? She was almost relieved when he finished that sentence with 'be my date to Prawn.' But then her heart broke, knowing she could never lie to him and say yes when she knew they couldn't, no matter how much she wanted to. She already had her dress waiting in her closet, but she hadn't told Zed anything about it, now she was really glad she hadn't before. Her parents were standing firm in their decision, and most of the City Council was too. No matter what they claimed, she had a feeling they still hadn't changed as much as they could have from before. She had told Zed the truth when she told him she didn't need a Prawn, just him, but she still wanted to fight. She had no clue what to do though. She will definitely be talking to Eliza to come up with a plan.

Her mind couldn't help but return to Zed. At that moment, part of her maybe wished it had been real, even though if it was, her parents would be even more freaked out than by the werewolves. "Someday." She promised herself. She knew Zed was the only one for her, she could be patient. Then when she said no, that was the most pained look she had seen on his handsome face since he saw her at cheer initiation. She had rushed to explain as quickly as possible. She never wanted to see that face of absolute misery, pain, and confusion on him ever again. With all these thoughts running through her head she eventually drifted off to sleep.
