The Beatles family, in the company of Kuki, were in the mall, specifically in the main toy store, where they compared models of telescopes. The reason they were looking for one was because on the stellar news, they had announced that important astrological phenomena would take place in two weeks and it was not to everyone's surprise that the most excited was the youngest of the family.

Joey was an energetic, charismatic boy and had a better temperament than his older brother. He was passionate about science, technology and of course like all Beatles, he was good at sports, even at his young age, he received good reviews in kindergarten.

"Are you sure this will make me see the meteor shower better?" Joey asked, trying to determine which telescope was better.

"Well, they are not high quality telescopes, they are for children to play with, but that does not mean that they have a great scope to better appreciate the phenomena of space," commented the seller of the toy store that was attending them, he wanted to make sure to make a good sale and earn some commission.

Near them was Kuki talking to Wally speaking in a low voice so that they would not hear them.

"I can't believe your parents are seriously going to buy your brother a telescope, I had to wait for good grades or my birthday to ask for out-of-season toys," Kuki told him.

"That dwarf is too lucky, and so are you. I think you were the one with the most toys of all of us, too many rainbow monkeys for my liking"

"The rainbow monkeys have always been a quality toy," she crossed her arms somewhat angrily.

"Are you going to keep buying those monkeys?" Wally asks her without realizing that he was already walking with her towards the happy hall. "Aren't you supposed to be 15 already?"

"For your information, I'm still 14 and besides, I could be 30 and I would still love my rainbow monkeys, silly," she stuck her tongue out at him in a teasing manner and the blonde replied in the same way. The childish environment was infecting them and causing them to behave like children. Still that feeling didn't bother either of them.

The rainbow hallway was actually a large section in the toy store with lots of shelves of rainbow monkeys, in all their different versions, that included stuffed animals, action figures, tea sets, girls room furniture, makeup, accessories, play sets and complete game sets. Wally could almost swear that he had seen a larger collection elsewhere with Kuki, but try as he might, he couldn't remember where.

The girl looked fascinated at all the shelves and walked from one place to another commenting on things that were super relevant to her, but were not relevant to Wally, despite that, she continued with her trying not to think too much about saying some nonsense that will result in an absurd fight. She did not have much spirit to fight or to claim something from him, he concentrated thinking why even though she made him mad and they did not have much in common, she managed to make him look like an idiot. The truth is that since Kuki was sleeping at her house, things between them had gotten a little strange, their fights had stopped a lot and even the night before he did not sleep well dreaming of her on a kind of date as if they were a couple. He thought about it for hours and almost forgot to sleep.

"Isn't that Alice over there?" Kuki asks as he approaches Wally when he looks across the hall at a girl rummaging through the rainbow apes.

"I think so," Wally answers and immediately tries to hide so that he doesn't see it.

"What are you doing?" The girl puts her hands on her hips and looks at him with a frown.

"Believe me, I'm much better here," he apologized, not believing that he would say something like that being among the rainbow apes' makeup shelves for girls. "Come on, I'll wait for you here."

"I can't believe it," says Kuki and then walks towards the direction where Alice, Hoagie's girlfriend is, totally absorbed in doing her thing.

"Hello Alice"

"Kuki, but what a surprise" the girl hugs the Japanese in greeting and then looks away from her towards the apes "Hey, you're good at this, would you help me choose the first rainbow monkey for my little cousin? She turns out in a week and my mom commissioned me to buy her something"

Kuki was an expert on the subject and of course quickly helped Alice to choose the best option on the market for the birthday girl. After all, the first rainbow monkey was the most important gift that every girl was going to treasure throughout her life, and she almost cried to remember such a glorious moment.

"Thank you, you saved me," Alice says with a monkey in her hand "And what are you doing here? Is that Wallabee over there?"

"Yes, you know how he is," she sighed, somewhat saddened by the situation. "We came with his family to buy a telescope for her little brother," she explained calmly.

"I didn't know you were in a serious relationship, congratulations," she says, putting her hand on Kuki's shoulder, dedicating the best of her smiles.

"What are you talking about?" She asks, confused.

"Well, you two, how lucky you already know their family and they even take you out on family outings with them. I have not been able to meet Hoagie's mother, if anything I have seen his brother like one twice"

"What?" She asked, surprised. "You have been around for two months. Shouldn't you already know his family? How is it possible that he hasn't introduced you?" She crossed her arms.

"Actually, it's almost three months," she sighed in exasperation. "I don't know, I mentioned it to him once but I haven't insisted again, sometimes I think that ours is nothing serious, I should already know his mother by now, don't you think?"

"Of course, I will personally scold him when I see him, that boy will already listen to me"

"Oh no please don't. This is something for couples, I'll find a way to solve it"

"Well if you say so"

"Kuki!" She heard someone screaming and it was Wally's mother calling her, "We're done, let's go."

Kuki said goodbye to Alice and met the Beatles at the entrance of the toy store to get out of there straight to the car. Suddenly, she felt someone take her hand, it was Joey.

"Kuki, little sister," she called her and she couldn't help but feel tender that he called her that way and she proceeded to hug him.

"Tell me Joey," she said, looking at him without paying attention to a surprised Wally who was just behind them that he had clearly gotten upset that she hugged his brother like that and not him.

"Can you promise me something?"

"Whatever is in my hands"

"I want you to be with me on the night of the rain of stars, you have to see it with me, it doesn't matter if you still stay with us or if you are already going home, you must see it with me"

"Really Joey? That's so sweet, of course I'll be there that night" the girl then lays her eyes on Wally who looked annoyed "Sure, if your brother doesn't mind"

"Who, me?" Wally asks, pointing, it seems they finally noticed that he existed "What do I have to do with that?"

"We live in the same house, genius" Joey told him. "Won't you mind Kuki joining us that night?"

"Well no"

"It's a promise," Joey says to Kuki and tightens his grip on the girl's hand. "Will you be with me that day?"

"Of course, I'll be with you the entire time the show lasts," the girl smiles at the youngest of the Beatles.

They continued walking like this hand in hand while Joey commented on things making Kuki laugh then the little one looks back looking for his brother and when their gazes meet, he frowns, sticks out his tongue and moving his lips says to his brother "I won ". Wally, stunned by his brother's masterful move, stands for a moment.

"Damn traitor," he spoke to himself with care not to be heard by anyone and put his hands in his pockets looking away. He was annoyed by the attitude of his brother with Kuki, did he like her? He was by far less age than the girl. He was not going to let himself be beaten "Find someone your size"

Inside the car on the way home, Kuki was thinking about the conversation he had had with Alice, she was a very nice, sweet and very pretty girl. If he thought about it more intensely, Hoagie was approached by many girls, even when he was younger and with extra pounds, the attitude of his friend attracted girls of any age. He thought that he had not introduced Alice as his girlfriend to his mother, could it be that she was not something serious?

That led her to think about the other thing that hovered more in her head, her closeness to Wally and her entire family. It was no secret to anyone that the Beatles liked Kuki and treated her like someone in her family. And if she went out with Wally in the future, would he tell his parents that she was his girlfriend? Would she give him her place? He didn't want to keep a secret like that with their families being so close.

The girl looked askance at the blond who was only looking out the window oblivious of everything and of Joey's conversation with her parents. Was he thinking about the girl he liked? Was that girl her? Sometimes she could swear that Wally did reciprocate her feelings, but he always backed down at the end of her, as if he avoided it, as if he really felt nothing for her, only friendship. Thinking about it so much made her sad.

Kuki took out her cell phone and started checking his messages while there were still a few minutes to get to Wally's house. She had several messages from her friends and her sister, who asked if her parents were still out of town and that she hoped they would return before the camp was over, which coincidentally was going to be the day after the night of rain of stars, she hoped that by then her parents would have already returned.

Abby's messages were selfies of her with her sister and her mother, who had joined the trip in Hawaii and things seemed to be going quite well, Abby's mother had left home after many discussions with Dr. Lincoln, Kuki remembered seeing Abby crying for days due to her parents' quarrel. She was very happy that everything seemed to indicate that her parents were rejoining. Kuki replied that the photos were very beautiful and she wished her the best of luck in that her parents reconciled.

Lastly, Nigel's message took her by surprise, it wasn't that they didn't text each other and that like the good friends they are, but usually Nigel was more about talking head-on or on the phone.

"I already found out that you are at Wally's house, no sneaking into his room or vice versa, I will be watching you even if he is not there with you, I have eyes everywhere."

That was not expected, she glanced at Wally who was still distracted and read the message again. Nigel always treated her like a little sister and she was grateful for it, but she was so ashamed to even think about spending the night in Wallabee Beetles' room, alone. I mean, he was a boy and she was a girl, they couldn't spend a night together in the same room, that would be very indecent.

"Nigel but what do you say? Nothing will happen. I am a decent girl. What do you take me for? I miss you too, thank you for saying it, I send you many hugs and greetings. "

Due to the message, Kuki was unable to look Wally in the eye the rest of the day and it was noted by Wally that he thought he had said or done something wrong, but decided not to think too much about it. Surely something must have told Alice that she had it like this.

"Kuki," Wally finally called, knocking on her bedroom door, he felt a tingle and a need to speak to her, and more so when he spent the entire afternoon avoiding him. About a minute later, the girl opens the door and he observes that she is already in pajamas of a long-sleeved sweater and long pants with cloud designs. "Are you going to sleep?"

"I think so," she answered without looking at him. "Do you need something?"

"I… ah, well," he scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably. "I thought maybe we could spend a movie night in my room, my parents went to dinner with some friends and will be back late, we could ask Joey to join us"

Kuki thought about declining the offer, it couldn't be a coincidence that Nigel's message in the afternoon and Wally's proposal on the same day. It's always as if her friend could predict things but if she said that Joey would be with them maybe there would be no problem.

"Well if you say your brother will be with us, then yes. Are you going to make popcorn with double butter?" SHe asks, closing the door while he sees Joey coming out of his room, with his pajamas on too. His was short-sleeved in red and the rest were white with long blue pants.

"It seems that the only one without pajamas is me," says Wally, scratching the back of his neck.

"Go put your pajamas on, Kuki and I will go down to make some popcorn," says the boy, taking the girl's hand, making her walk with him a bit. "Come on."

"Yes Joey, we'll be right back," she says looking at Wally into his eyes and she couldn't help but blush.

Wally did not notice it and went to his room to change, after arranging his room a little so that it did not look so messy, he decided to wear a gray pants and an orange shirt that was somewhat attached to the body and highlighted a little the muscles that they began to form in the adolescent boy, the days that he dedicated to the gym were bearing fruit. A few minutes later Kuki and Joey showed up with a bowl of freshly made hot popcorn and some drinks to soothe the salt.

"And what are we going to see?" Commented Joey, settling on the end of the bed, as he was small, he would not prevent the view of the teenagers if they sat at the head of the bed to watch the movie. The television in Wally's bedroom was smaller than the one in the living room but was a good size for the space in the bedroom.

Kuki just looked at Wally's room, he had arranged it and he no longer looked as childish as months ago. It was full of music group posters, some trophies and sports stamps.

WIn my closet I have a whole collection of DVDs for sure there is something good to see," said the boy, opening the closet, checking his top shelf and reading the DVD titles aloud, he did not realize that Kuki had gotten closer to him to look for the movie.

"We could see the Lord of the Rings movie, I never finished watching it," Joey commented that he had already started eating popcorn.

"For what? Surely you will fall asleep, it's a very long movie," Wally told him.

"I haven't seen that movie," Kuki commented, still admiring the movie collection.

"I am not surprised, although you should, you might come to like seeing elves, those magical things are your style"

"If you don't put the movie on now, I'll fall asleep before the end," said the boy, annoyed.

"How annoying you are boy"

"Look who's saying it," Joey replies, sticking out his tongue.

"Don't fight. That movie is a good choice Wally, no problem for me, I already want to eat my…"The girl did not finish because something on top of all Wally's things in the closet caught her attention, something plush and colored green. "What's that?" She pointed it out, but Wally had already headed over to his player to put in the movie DVD.

The girl stood on tiptoe and reached for whatever had caught her attention and pulled it out, some specks of dust came out along with the stuffed animal, she held it firmly and by taking a better look at what she had in her hands she would swear that she would cry right now.

"That's it, come on Kuki, the start is great and Joey will finish your popcorn," the boy turned to look at her and then when he realized what she was holding in her hand, her face turned red with shame.

"It's ... it's ..." Kuki couldn't speak, she was very surprised and her heart skipped when she felt Wally next to her. "I thought you dumped it or something I-I can't believe you still have it" the girl started crying.

"Hey, don't cry"" He ruffled his hair uncomfortably.

"Of course I cry Wally, it's Secret Santa Surprise Reindeer Monkey that I gave you about 4 years ago"

Joey watched the teenagers while he ate the popcorn, it was like watching a romantic comedy with his mom, of course he wanted to see the lord of the rings but he was more interested in the end of the movie where there was more action, the beginning had already been seen multiple times, he didn't miss a thing.

"Well, I couldn't just throw it away, I mean, I think we made a huge line that day, I didn't even know it was to buy that for me, I mean I don't like those jumpsuits but ..." he looked away "You gave it to me after all."

"Oh, Wally, you don't know how happy I feel now" the girl without thinking hugged him making the boy's heart race "It's the most beautiful gesture you've ever had with me"

"But I haven't done anything," he commented, trying to breathe, Kuki had so much strength.

"You didn't throw it away, that means a lot," she said, smiling at him.

"Are you going to see the movie or are you going to do dating things?" Tell me, so I don't take the popcorn to my room, "Joey said sitting looking at them and the comment made both of them feel ashamed and they separated immediately.

"Always saying nonsensical things," Wally commented, sitting on the bed and Kuki took her place with him, the girl kept hugging the teddy bear. "Are you going to see the movie with that monkey here?"

"Don't be like that, I'll give him the love you've denied him all this time being kept in your closet," she hugged the toy tighter. Wally didn't know what to say to that and he just looked up at the screen.

Kuki felt something in his chest that he could not explain, it was a mixture of joy with shame with much ecstasy and anxiety. SHe glanced at the blonde during the movie and couldn't get a radiant smile off his face, she was so happy to have discovered that Wally still had the gift from him. That meant something, right?

As Wally had said, his brother fell asleep, but it was not at the end of the movie, but in the middle of the second part. He was a little boy after all. He got up, careful not to move the bed too much, and grabbed the boy in his arms and carried him into his room where he left him wrapped up with a stuffed animal of one of his superheroes. When he returned to his room, he noticed that Kuki was dozing, still hugging the stuffed animal.

"Kuki," he called her yawning, he was more tired than he thought, "Go to your bed, don't sleep in mine."

"But I want to see a little more," replied the half-asleep girl and she settled into the bed better, now that Joey was gone she had more space.

"Okay, but if you fall asleep you will force me to wake you up"

Wally took a large blanket from her dresser and settled next to Kuki, she automatically pulled a bit of it and threw it on top of her. The boy then realized that they were alone in his room, sharing the blanket and the bed. If his parents came back and saw them in that scene, he wasn't quite sure if they would be mad at them or not. The boy put some distance from the Japanese just in case and looked towards the door that he had closed more by inertia and did not stop to think that she would still be in the room.

About 15 minutes passed and the girl had fallen asleep completely, Wally half asleep watched her sleep, she looked beautiful. He then stopped to admire her, she looked so calm, he better inspected her Asian features and her hair that fell on her face and to the sides of her. It was certainly a scene that he would remember many nights, especially since she was in her room. It felt wrong to wake her up and ruin such a perfect moment. Without thinking, he brushed a few strands of her hair from her face to admire her better and got a little closer. The girl moved and he reacted by pulling away from her abruptly. After a while, Wally barely had time to press the off button on his television and fell asleep with the girl next to her.
