He isn't discreet when he glances at his wrist-watch. But his companion for the night is seemingly unaware of the message he is subtly trying to communicate.

She leans in closer. He pulls back a few inches, overwhelmed by her saccharine scent.

He internally screams when she orders a second serving of dessert. While they wait, she prattles on about her budding business endeavors. His responses range from a few cursory grunts to barely audible hums. She is too absorbed in her own recounting of events to notice his disinterest.

The server finally arrives with the blessing that is chocolate cake.

He thanks the universe when she stuffs her face with the sugary treat, appreciative for the few moments of silence.

Before she can order another item off the menu, he asks for the cheque. She finally catches on. She leaves the half-eaten cake on the dining table. Grabbing her coat, she follows him out of the fine dining restaurant.

"I'm this way." He points to a bright neon sign a few buildings away. "See you ar-"

Tucking a strand of auburn hair behind her jewel adorned ear, she says, "I forgot to call my driver. I can call him, but it might be a while before he reaches. I guess I can wait inside for-"

He was hoping he could avoid this part of the night, but she seems determined to prolong their date, "It's okay. I'll drive you home."

She flashes him a pretty smile. Four years ago, that smile might have had an effect on him. But experience has taught him that pretty smiles are a dime a dozen, and those belonging to his social circle are not worth the inevitable drama.

Boldy, she clutches onto his forearm. He allows it as the walk to the car is short. Using his free hand, he reaches into his coat pocket to retrieve a key fob. A short beep confirms the doors are open.

He reminds himself to maintain proper social etiquette. He opens the passenger door and quickly frees his arm from her grasp.

Her eyes move from the hood of the black sedan back to the now exposed interior. She can't help but hide the disappointment on her face.

The inability to hide her feelings amuses him and confirms his perception of women of her social standing.

"Sorry it's not to your liking." He says provokingly.

Dipping down, she takes a seat on the plush, black seats. "It's actually refreshing."

After closing her door, he gets into the driver's side of the car. He quirks an eyebrow at the lie she is about to spout, "Yeah?"

"You're humble. That's rare to find." He wants to tell her the car they are in is vastly out of reach for the average person. But at 11 pm on a Friday night, he isn't in the mood to lecture a socialite on her privileged outlook on life.

Following her directions, they quickly reach a luxury condominium. "Thanks for the ride."

He nods his head in acknowledgement.

She opens the car-door to exit. One leg is on the pavement and the other still on the floor of the car, "Do you want to come up for coffee or tea?"

He understands what she is really asking. He would be a liar to say that he isn't physically attracted to her. She's pretty with a toned body. But he needs more than physical attraction to agree to be locked down. In his opinion she is as shallow as a spring puddle.

"Maybe another time. I have to study." He isn't lying. His head should be in his books, but he agreed to the blind date to appease his mother.

"I keep forgetting you're still in school." Her tone shifts to condescension, akin to that of an adult speaking to a child. She gracefully steps out the car, pulling down a black dress to cover the legs that she was a few moments seductively flashing.

He is about to reach his breaking point, "I'll call you." He reaches out to the other side of the car and slams door the shut. It goes against his mother's teachings, but he doesn't wait to see if she enters the safety of her building.

Immediately he pulls out his phone. There are five missed calls. Four from this mother and one from his friend/drug dealer.

He returns his mother's call. The call is connected to his vehicle's audio through Bluetooth.

"Sasuke! How was it?" His mother's voice is too exuberant for this time of night.

She doesn't wait for him to respond, "Isn't she beautiful. I knew you would like her."

"It was fine." He drums his fingers against the steering wheel as he waits at a red light.

"Just fine?" His mother asks.

Not wanting to disappoint her, he decides to hide the truth, "She seems like a nice person. Maybe we will go out again."

"Really?" Mikoto's exuberance returns.

"Yeah. Anyways, gotta go. Lots of studying to catch up on." Her turns on his indicator to merge onto the highway.

"Are you coming home this weekend?" He hears the clink of a glass being placed on a countertop. He assumes she is finishing up a bottle of wine to welcome the weekend.

"Nah. I'll be home next weekend for the winter break." Sasuke promises.

"Can't wait. Love you, Sasuke."

"Love you too, Kaa-san." He ends the call.

He scrolls down to the next missed call. He hits the green call button.

"Yo, where the fuck you at?" Suigetsu yells over the loud din of background chatter and music.

"On my way home. You coming through?" Sasuke is ready to get fucked up and forget his unfavourable date.

"Nah, I'm fucking wasted. Can't drive." Suigetsu laughs raucously.

"Fine, I'll come get you. Where you at?"

"At the campus bar with Jugo." Getting high with those two is worth the trip to campus and interacting with the regular patrons of the campus bar. Sasuke just hopes tonight's event isn't Christmas themed. H

"See you in a bit." He hangs up.

The bouncer returns Sasuke's ID card and allows him entry into the cramped bar.

A student in a Santa hat walks past him at coat check. He groans audibly. He reminds himself that he will only be here for a few minutes. He just needs to find his friends and then he can escape this festive prison.

Sasuke beelines to the bar. He orders a beer. As he is waiting, he texts Suigetsu telling him he is at the bar.

A male bartender he recognizes from around campus, hands him a dark, green bottle.

Sipping on the foamy, somewhat warn beverage, he scans the crowd. At the far end of the bar, he spots Suigetsu chatting with a blonde Mrs. Claus. He recognizes the female. It's a classmate Suigetsu has been eying for quite a while.

Not wanting to be a cock block, he decides to give Suigetsu his space and decides to look for the other member of his gang.

He notices a bulky, tall male near the dancefloor. Assuming it's Jugo, he pushes through the crowd to get nearer.

A few feet away from his target, someone catches his attention. It's hard for her to go unnoticed with her physique. His eyes are glued on her slim waist and fat ass. They trail up to bountiful breasts spilling out of a flimsy dress. He ignores that the fine specimen before his eyes is packaged in a ridiculously bright, elf costume. Who cares if she has a poor sense of fashion.

Even fully sober, he momentarily forgets his self-induced abstinence. He knows he shouldn't be fucking around casually with women he has a high chance of encountering again. But he reasons that it would be a waste not to sample the feast before his eyes. Given that she is alone and dressed like that, he reasons she may also be seeking out a casual hook-up.

He is certain he hasn't laid her before. He would remember that body, but he glances up at her face to confirm.

Sasuke's eyes widen in surprise.

'When the fuck did she get that body?'

The scowl now on his face turns to one of confusion when he notices her teary eyes. He follows her line of vision to find a pink-haired demon grinding on his scatterbrained, blonde friend. His brain yells at him to bail before she is aware of his presence, but pity gets the best of him.

He moves closer, close enough that he doesn't have to shout over the blaring music. "If it's any consolation, she is just using him to get me jealous." He isn't trying to be smug. He is simply stating the truth.

"Sasuke." She barely acknowledges him.

Struggling with this plot. I think I wrote the NaruHina scene to quickly. But what's done is done, hopefully I can still salvage this story.

Will try to follow up with another chapter this weekend.

Would love your feedback.
