Lily:

Dragging her trunk, she weaved her way through the throngs of happy families saying their goodbyes. Finally making it to the train, Lily realized that she had a problem. She was not strong enough to lift her trunk. Mercifully, it lifted right out of her fingers and onto the train. Looking around, she found none other than Remus Lupin and Sirius Black, half of the infamous marauders. "Thanks guys!"

"Not a problem at all, Evans," replied Black. "It was a great opportunity to show my strength and chivalry." He winked at her. Sirius Black was known as quite the lady's man.

Lupin rolled his eyes at his friend's comments. Though an attractive guy, Remus was less of a flirt than Black and Poter. "Have a good summer Lily?" Oh and he was the only member of the marauders I got along with well enough to be on a first name basis. We had done many group projects together and became prefects together the previous year.

"Oh you know, the usual," I lied. "Pretty boring. You?" I had no intentions of revealing the real events of my summer. Especially to people who weren't even close friends of mine. "Get up to lots of fun adventures with your hooligan friends?"

"Hooligans?" Black interrupted. "Who are you calling hooligans? We are marauders!" But Remus narrowed his eyes at me. Was I that bad at lying? Luckily Sirius was blabbing about their summer adventures and was completely oblivious to the interaction between me and Remus. I twisted my hair around my fingers.

"Well, I should really go catch up with Emma and Marley. Thanks again for help!" and I rushed off to find my best friends. I could feel Remus's eyes on my back and could only hope he would keep his mouth shut. The last thing I needed was all 4 marauders in my business.

I got nearly to the back of the train before I heard Marley's laughter. Marlene McKinnon had a distinct laugh that seemed to cut through any chatter. I wish I could laugh like that. It was the kind of laugh that was infectious. The kind that everyone wanted to be around. The kind that guys found attractive. And Merlin knows Marlene was attractive. Tall, long legs, perfect pale skin, and silky black hair, Marlene was everything I wasn't. She even played quidditch. Bloody annoying to have such a perfect best friend, but I love that about her. I followed her laughter to the compartment she and Emma had secured. Emmaline Vance was my other best friend. Where Marley was outgoing, Emma and I tended to be quieter. Though Emma was also tall and beautiful. It was just me who was cursed to be barely 5 feet tall.

"Lily!" Emma saw me first and practically knocked me over in her excitement to see me.

"Emma!" I gasped as I stumbled backwards trying and failing to prevent both of us from tumbling to the ground.

"Wow. How lucky am I to be witnessing such a romantic encounter?"

"Fuck off Black!" Marlene retorted. "Just because you are jealous watching people be excited to see each other doesn't mean you have to make it dirty."

"Oh McKinnon. You wound me. I'm excited to see you again."

"In your fucking dreams, Black"

"Oh you fuck me in my dreams McKinnon."

"EWWWW!" Emma and I complained.

"Carry on," Sirius continues with a wink.

Emma and I got to our feet, brushed ourselves off, and got into the compartment where we shut the door rather forcefully in Sirius's face. Marley then turned her attention to me with a big hug. "Ugh! I missed you Lils! Tell me everything about your summer!"

"Me?" I responded, struggling for the ability to breathe. "You're the one who spent the summer in France!"

"Oh right! Oh Lils, you have to go to Paris. It's the most wonderful time," and Marley was telling us all about her time in France flirting with cute boys when her parents weren't looking. Between her stories and Emma's adventures in America, we conveniently ran out of time on the long train ride to cover my summer. Not that I intended to tell them how my summer went. That sounded a little too painful to relive.
