The next morning bright and early the fellowship was up packing up the few items they took out of the boat for the night. Once everything was secured and the fire was completely out from cooking breakfast. The fellowship returned to their boats and started to paddle down the Anduin once more. The fellowship was quiet with a bit of chatter from the others from time to time. It would be late morning when the fellowship made their way down came upon two stone statues. They stood 300 feet in the air in all their glory of the gondorian kings of the old. Serenity amazed to see the beautiful statues still standing in such fine condition.
"Serenity do you know of those status?" Pippin curiously asked the blonde in his boat.
"Yes, I do. They are the old kings from Gondor." She said simply before turning to see her brother in the boat looking at the statues too. She wondered how he felt seeing the two massive towers over them knowing his future would be King of Gondor someday. The fellowship continues their journey quietly as they pass the feet of the two statues as they continue to follow the flow of water.
It would be early afternoon when the fellowship would reach their destination on the shore. As they pushed the boats up onto land to ensure they did not float away. Then the people in their respect boats start to remove the items from the boat and set up a camp.
"Aragorn why not continue on foot while the sun is out?" Amaire asked him as she arranges her items on a ground near the fire that Sam is starting to make.
"We cross the lake at nightfall, hide the boats and continue on foot…we approach Mordor from the north." He explains simply to her. At hearing this information come from Aragorn Gimli speaks up.
"Oh, yes, just a simple matter of finding our way through the Emyn Muil, an impossible labyrinth of razor-sharp rocks. And after that gets even better….a festering, stinking marshland, far as the eye can see." He finishes with obvious sarcasm in his tone as he looks at Aragorn. Pippin stare on hearing such comments from the dwarf wondering if what he is speaking was true or not.
"This is our Road…I suggest you take some rest and recover your strength, Master Dwarf." Aragorn replies back ignoring the dwarf's tone of voice and staying serious at the same time. Glimi's eyes widen at hearing such words from Aragorn. He starts muttering indignant comments. Aragorn look towards the boats and see his sister standing near by giving Merry some items to take back with him. He notices her stance seems more rigid as well as if she is more alert. He has notice Amaire has been acting the same too. Aragorn decide he should speak to his sister.
"Serenity are you alright?" he questions her quietly as he approaches the two.
"That's all for now, Merry. Thank you." She replies to him with a small smile on her lips. He nods his head in understanding before securing off taking the items in his hands to put them in their proper place as requested by the blonde. Serenity then turned to her brother to answer his question.
"Yes, I am fine. I worry about staying on the shores until night fall. I have this bad feeling I am unable to shake." She explains with a frown on her lips worry swirling in her blue eyes.
"I must agree with your sister, Aragorn. We should leave now." Legolas interject quietly as he approached the siblings causing the two to turn to look at him.
"Orcs patrol the eastern shore. We must wait for cover of darkness." He simply says to them. Serenity looks at her brother and nods her head in understanding. She knows her brother would not put them in harm's way and trust him whole heartly so she would not doubt his decision on this.
"It is not the Eastern shore that worries me." Legolas replies looking towards the Parth Galen forest before turning back to look at both siblings. "A shadow and a threat has been growing in my mind. Something draws near, I can feel it." He finishes telling them as he supports Serenity in swaying her brother to have them start to travel now instead of at night. Aragorn and Serenity both know what he means and are anxious about it. Two foes to worry about and not aware where exactly they are and when they will show. The three stood quietly just peering over their little camp until Merry speaks up.
"Where's Frodo?" This causes everyone to look around within their camp. Serenity looks over to where Borormir had been setting up his things and notice his spot is empty and he is nowhere to be found either. Serenity had a good idea what was happening at this point.
"Listen up." Serenity said loudly as her leadership skills kicked in gaining the rest of the fellowship attention. "We need to split up to find Frodo and Boromir." Serenity starts to explain looking at Amarie as she says Boromir's name. Serenity saw the fear swirling in her eyes. The same exact emotions that she was most likely masking now too. "Amaire and Samwise you go together, Merry and Pippin you go together, Glimi and Legolas together as well. No body should be alone in these woods, do you understand me?" She asked them seriously. Some nodded while others answered verbally knowing they had a serious mission to handle. "Alright, if you find one of them return to the camp and wait for the rest of us to return. Return in 1 hour no matter if found or not." Serenity instructed them all the plan. The groups of two broke out as Serenity instruct and start to make their way into the woods when Serenity suddenly felt this dark power in the distance. The young blonde whips to her right ignoring the others focusing in on the power she was feeling.
The princess of the moon starts running in the direction knowing that the power she was feeling was most likely the ring Frodo was carrying. She sprints up the hill darting in between tree branches and trunks while jumping over stumps and big rocks gracefully as she moves swiftly. She makes it to a small flat area when the dark power just vanishes. The feeling of the darkness disappearing cause the young blonde to curse out loud as she tried to catch her breath while trying to figure how to find Frodo now.
"Mother would not approve of you saying un-lady like words." Came a familiar voice from behind her. The princess turned around to see her brother standing behind her with an amusement twinkling in his eyes while still looking serious at the same time.
"Well, it's good you heard me and not her then." Serenity shot back to her brother with a raised eyebrow.
"So, why this way?" he asked her as he nodded his head in the direction they had been running towards only moments before.
"I felt a dark power, mostly like the ring, which would mean Frodo is this way. But the power just vanished abruptly. My guess is he used the ring to hide again." Serenity explains to her brother. "But now I am not fully sure if we should keep going this way or not." Aragorn nods his head in understanding listening to her as he looks down at the ground staring at something in in the ground. Serenity notices his change in mood and demeanor.
"What do you see, Aragorn?" She was aware he was good at tracking things and had always been when they were children. She knew if he saw something then there was a chance, they still be able to find Frodo.
"Come, he went this way." Aragorn said continuing the route his sister was just going. Serenity let her brother take the lead in finding Frodo. She follows him up another slope as she weaves between branches and stumps in the forests. It doesn't take them long until they find another flat area at the very top it seems of the mountain next to a monument with stairs of Amon Hen. Aragorn is walking around the area slowly looking at the ground as he listens for anything that may help them find their friends. As the two both look for signs, they hear a loud thud just ahead of the monument. Aragorn goes first to the front of it to find Frodo standing there.
"Frodo?" Aragorn calls out to him with concern in his voice. The little hobbit turns around with fear on his face until he recognizes Aragorn before him.
"It has taken Boromir." He said urgently with fear and worry in his voice and eyes. Serenity realized the meaning of his words right away.
"Where is the ring?" Aragorn asks him urgently as he comes closer to him which causes Frodo to sharply back way from Aragorn. This action from the little hobbit shocks both Serenity and Aragorn as he yells back at Aragorn.
"Stay away!" Aragorn realizes quickly as well why Frodo is so fearful and protective of anyone coming to him. Aragorn starts to slowly come towards Frodo. His face softening in compassion at seeing his friend.
"Frodo…I swore to protect you." He said gently to him. Frodo opens his hand up to reveal the ring is laying on his palm flat. The sun's rays catching the gold in the light before them both. Serenity watched on her heart broken that Frodo feared her brother would take the ring from him.
"Can you protect me from yourself? Would you destroy it?" Frodo simply asks staring at Aragorn back as he held it in his view to watch. Aragorn came up to Frodo. Aragorn could hear the ring trying to call out to him. Try to get him to take the ring for himself just as it had done to those in the past. The temptation was there, but Aragorn knew, that was not him and he would be like those before him. He kneels down before Frodo closing Frodo's hand around the ring as he spoke to Frodo.
"I would have gone with you to the end…into the very fires of Mordor." Aragorn spoke honestly with sadness in his eyes. He knew what was going happen and wish he could continue his journey with the hobbit.
"I know…look after the others, especially Sam…he will not understand." Frodo responded with sadness in his face knowing he would not see the others again. Frodo look over Aragorn's shoulder to see Serenity not far away from them.
"We will Frodo." She was able to get out before Aragorn suddenly stood up drawing out his sword. This causes both Frodo and Serenity turn their attention back to him once more.
"Go Frodo!" Frodo scrambles to grab his sword pulling it out as it glows a light blue before them. They all knew what this met, and that Frodo had to be protected now. Frodo looks up hesitates to leave the two siblings before him. Serenity could hear growling and snarling behind her now.
"Run! Run!" Aragorn yells to him as he turns around to defend Frodo and give him the time that is needed to get away safely. Serenity turns around walking around the monument staring at 200 Uruk-hai that were crawling all over Amon Hen before them. She knew that this time she would have to use everything she could to protect Frodo from being caught.
"So, you ugly things want to play then?" She asks arrogantly as they stood before her. The fierce determination shining in her blue eyes as she ready for a fight. "Well, then let's go." Serenity stood there with her one palm out before her. Her half-moon crescent blazing on top of her forward.
"World Shaking!" She yells as she slams her right hand down on the earth with a yellow glowing ball into the earth, which starts flying towards the Urk-hai as it came up above the earth and starts killing them as it pushes through the swarm. But the blonde princess didn't stop one attack. Serenity starts another one up to follow.
"Deep Submerge!" She yells sending a teal ball out of her hand to the enemy as well. Aragorn was surprised with the power that was coming out of his sister so easily. While the attack hit its targets in the swarm of Urk-hai the ones that were not hit went around both attacks towards Serenity. Serenity pulled out her sword and clashing it against the first strike that came her way intending to kill her. She gracefully defended and counter her strikes. She could hear the clashing of more swords not far behind her as well. As she fights the Urk-hai and her two attacks gone she realizes quickly that they are being surrounded and they are out-number. Serenity being able to create a gap between her and the enemy raised her left hand again.
"Supreme Thunder" Serenity mutters then blueish/green lighting came out of her hand zapping a group of Urk-hai dropping to the ground instantly. This only angered the those around her more and went straight for her. As the Urk-hai came towards her out of nowhere an arrow flew past the princess and landed into a Urk-hai. Followed by few more that pass her and hitting its target. She knew that others had joined Aragorn and her in the fight. Suddenly, hearing Gimli's deep voice of victory at times as his axe cut through the enemy. The four fought bravely as they slowly made their way through the horde to regroup. After a few more minutes of fighting the line grew thin giving Serenity along with the others the chance to make their way down the slope when a horn was heard.
"What is that?" Serenity yelled out as she sends a blast of ice on her hand out to a Urk-hai that was going for Gimil's back stopping it. Gimil turns around with a smile before smashing it happily and moving on to the next enemy that dare try to kill him.
"The horn of Gondor!" Legolas responds back.
"Boromir!" Aragorn yells as he starts to desperately cut through more of the enemy to get to his comrade. Serenity notices her brother's desperate need to get to Boromir and decides to use even more power to aid him.
"Cosmic Blast!" a brilliant white light comes off around the blonde beauty goes out about twenty feet in a circle around her. It covered her and Aragorn but the light harming only the Urk-hai that were in its path. It last only ten seconds before it disappeared as fast as it came. Aragorn looked in wonderment at how her powers were able to aid so. Serenity just shook her head to clear it as she caught her breath at same time. She notices her power had clear a good amount of the Urk-hai which gave them the room to move quicky again. She saw Aragorn already making his way towards Boromir. So, she starts running after him too. As the two siblings made their way down the hill, they heard it being blown again and many of the Urk-hai heading in that direction know. As they ran they were run into other Urk-hai as briefly as possible when killing it before continuing further.
It was about ten minutes later when Serenity made it to a valley in the woods. There she saw Boromir on his knees with two arrows in his body. A big Urk-hai standing above him with his bow. Serenity blue eyes widen in shock as she realizes it was getting ready to put another arrow threw Boromir. Serenity muttered "Silent Wall". She suddenly disappeared quietly leaving small white specks where she had just stood. Unexpectedly, a purple wall form around Boromir in a half down shape. This surprise Boromir and anger the Urk-hai at the same. But before it could do anything Serenity appeared on the right of the Uruk-hai. She then punches the Urk-hak, causing the unexpected blow to wobble back and lose his balance. The Urk-hai drops its bow but recover swiftly standing up again with his sword in its hand.
"No, Serenity!" Boromir yells as he collapses from his wound unable to aid the blonde princess in her battle. Serenity ignores the cry while keeping the purple protection up as the Urk-hai rushes her with his knife sword. Serenity has her sword ready which they clash against. She sees an opening as their swords meet and takes the moment to punch him in the gut before hitting him in the face next. The Urk-hai stumbles a bit but goes on the offense once more swinging his sword at her.
Just then Amaire come up from the other side of the hill. She sees Serenity fighting the Urk-hai with the protection around Boromir. Her eyes widen in shock to see the state Boromir is in and realizes she must help him. She runs over to him right away going through the purple barrier with no issues.
"Boromir!" She calls out loudly as she falls to her knees to aid him. Her eyes go wide at seeing two arrows in his body. His skin his pale and wet. Hearing his name being call turn to his left to see the elf maidan.
"Amaire?" Boromir asks surprise to see her at his side. He can see the fear and shock in her purple eyes swirling in them. The elf maiden feels the fear gripping tightly to her at the thought of losing the man that laid before her. The idea broke her heart terribly and she realizes she is falling for this man. "Go help Serenity. There is nothing you can do for me." He tells her. At hearing these words of giving up strike her in a way.
"No." she says in a steely voice. "I can help you and will. Besides, Serenity would have my head if I let you die." She shot back her purples eyes holding a fierce look to them as she focusses on what needs to be done at the very moment. She is determined to save him more than ever now. As She starts to go reach for an arrow he interrupts her.
"Save me? These wounds are…" he starts to say, but she stops him with a finger on his mouth while shushing him.
"Trust me?" She simply says to him. Boromir looks at her with a soften look of his own features and eyes holding admiration towards her.
"With my life." He responds back to her. She gives a small smile and nods her head before she starts to help him.
The Urk-hai picks himself up from falling against a tree back before coming at the blonde beauty again with his sword. The Urk-hai kicks her in the stomach then punches her in the face. Her foot catches on a tree stump and tries to get her balance back, but instead this causes her to fall to the ground on her stomach dropping her sword in the process. The fall affects Serenity's concentration causing the barrier she had up around Boromir to disappear. The hard fall pushes the air out of her lungs making it hard to breath. She tries to push past it by trying to get on her hands and knees to get off the ground. As she does this she looks for her sword, but the Urk-Hai grabs her hair and neck pulling her up with ease. The pain that hits Serenity makes her scream from the pain. As she is being pick up, she tries reaching for the hand that is on her neck but is not able too. It then slams the blonde princess down onto the ground very hard causing the air she had just replenished her lungs with to go right out once more Serenity coughs as she tries to get air back into her.
"Serenity!" Came the familiar voice of fear obvious for her. As Amaire works to save Boromir she is powerless in not being able to protect her princess. Yet, she knows Serenity wouldn't want it any other way but the desire to protect her friend was so overwhelming in this moment. The blonde beauty starts to get up, but the Urk-hai kicks the blonde in the stomach forcefully making her roll onto her back. She coughs trying to regain her bearings and breath when she sees it standing above her with a sword in its hand. She tries to gain control back of her body to stop the strike that she could see that was coming for her.
"Don't you dare kill her!" shout a familiar cold deep voice. The Urk-hai's head snaps swiftly in the direction of the voice shift it's attention from Serenity. It looks at the speaker for a moment before it seems to realize whoever it is and put the sword down. Serenity rolled over from her back to her stomach to get a view of the person that had intruded on their fight. She was grateful for the delay, yet she had a horrible feeling, who was now with them. "That's better. Pick her up." says the voice arrogantly. But before Serenity gets a good view she is grabbed by her blonde hair and clothing pulled up against the disgusting Urk-hai's body. Once upright facing away from her captor she now has a good view of whom is standing not too far. Serenity's face turns ghostly white seeing the familiar face so easily in the newcomer notices Serenity's stun reaction which causes him to laugh evilly.
"Hello Serenity. I didn't think you would return to Middle Earth." He states to her as he makes his way towards her. "I've been here for some time and helping my father regain control. Afterall, this would be an easy win with no one here to stop me. But then I felt this massive pure power and I just knew." He spoke with a wicked grin on his face. "I knew you had returned and of course had to have help as you always do, and this would be my chance, for us to rule this world together as we were met too." Serenity struggles desperately to get free of the Urk-hai but was failing miserably. Serenity swallows while shaking her head at him.
"No." was all she said as she stares at the cold dark blue almost black eyes that stood only ten feet from her and her captor.
Not far in the distance Aragorn hears screaming as he pulls out his sword from the most recent opponent that has just died. He starts his journey towards the scream he heard just moments before and comes to cluster of trees. As he comes the cluster of trees slowly peering through them as hears someone speak. He peers through enough to see Boromir on the ground with Amaire by his side. Not too far from where Amarie and Boromir he can see Serenity being held by a Urk-hai just below him trying to get free as a man speaks to her slowly making his way towards the two of them. Aragorn studies the group carefully. He notices the Urk-hai seems to be faithfully holding his sister as if ordered to do so. However, his how notices Serenity shaking, her face paler, and the fright that was written all her face. Seeing the fear so evident when his sister was usually brave, calm and level head was not something he had thought he would see. He had a feeling the man standing before his sister was the cause of it and he knew he had to help his sister. Aragorn darts out from around the trees jumping onto the Urk-hai. The force lurches the Urk-hai and Serenity forward with such force she falls to the ground with such force the momentum making her roll on several times. As she rolls her head hits a rock knocking her out. Aragorn and the Urk-hai also fall to the ground too but try to gain their control back. Aragorn stops his roll just a few feet from his sister. The stranger steps back at least twenty feet from the sudden eruption of chaos. The Urk-hai rolls onto it back before not far from Aragorn and Serenity with ease before it is able to start to get on its feet standing. It glares at Aragorn angrily at the intruding moment he had created. The Urk-hai picks up the sword it had in its hand only moments before and runs toward Aragorn with it. Aragorn gets on his feet swiftly to defend against the Urk-hai, leaving Serenity on the ground unconscious, alone. The man smirks as he sees all of this unfold right before his eyes not missing his chance and starts walking briskly towards Serenity.
"Stay the hell away from her!" Amaire screams from her spot angrily on the ground next to Boromir. The man looks over to Amaire his eye recognizing the young woman right away.
"It seems you can't stop me." He replies mockingly with the grin on his face once more. But the man suddenly steps back just as an arrow flies past him. Out of the woods comes a dwarf and an elf running towards Serenity blocking a path to get her.
"Stay away from her." Growl the dwarf with his axe ready while Legolas held his bow ready to release another arrow. The man stood amuse and curious of the group. He wonders what Serenity was up to with this interesting mix beings. He knew it if Serenity was involved it had to be important. However, seeing there were more arrivals to Serenity's aid though best to leave not sure how many more were coming.
"Until our next meeting." The man said simply before disappearing from where he stood leaving a black streak for a few seconds in the air.
"Where'd he go? That coward!" Gimli yells as he looks around for him. Legolas stays rigid for a few more seconds before he relaxes holding his bow and makes his away over to Serenity. As he kneels beside her the elf notices she is laying on her stomach, her head is resting against rock with her bangs covering her eyes. He gently rolls Serenity over onto her back. As he rolls her over, he finds a good size gash with blood coming out slowly on her forehead.
"Serenity…wake up." He calls out to her gently trying wake the blonde beauty. He calls her name two or three more times before her eyes start fluttering open as she groans from her injuries.
"Did someone get that bus number that hit me?" She mumbles out as she tries to think of what happen. As her eyes open from fuzziness to clarity to see Legolas looking down at her with an concern on his face with an hint of amusement in his eyes.
"I am afraid I do not know what this bus is you speak of." Legolas replies with a smile. Serenity smiles back as she sits up carefully from where she laid with the elf prince's help. Legolas gives out his hand to help her get to her feet.
"Are you alright?" He asks her softly as he eyes looks at the injury on her forward. She could see the concern slowly being replace with relief on his face. The fact that he cares for her warms her heart.
"Yes, thank you. Nothing a bit of healing…." She stops mid-sentence realization hitting her which Legolas caught as she whips around to see Amaire with Boromir on the ground still. "Boromir!" Serenity yells realizing she still needed to help heal him. The blonde beauty races over kneeling on the opposite site of Amaire. She surveys the damage and sees the one arrow is still in his body while the other had already been pulled out. Serenity looks at her friend with worry and exhaustion on her face, but obvious relief mix in there as well.
"What have you done thus far?" Serenity asks her focus on the task hand.
"I am still cleaning the poison and healing the wound from the arrow I took out while trying to slow the blood flow from the second one and hold back the poison from it too. It's just a lot to do." Amaire explain to her friend quickly.
"Focus on that wound and I will focus on the other one." Serenity said as she looks at her hoping she was good with the plan.
"Works for me." Amaire said as she started pouring more of her healing abilities into the wound she was dealing with. This caused her to have a purple outline and her Saturn symbol appear on her forward with the brightest glow coming from her hands. Serenity began to have a white outline just as Amaire including her hands. She kept her left hand near the arrow as she grabs hold of the other arrow pulling it out as she had her power block the pain of it coming out. She then starts to clean the blood from the poison while also closing the wound inside of him. After a few more minutes the wound is completely gone along with any smaller wounds in the general area. It would be a few more minutes of cleaning and closing the wounds up, but Serenity and Amaire stop their glow and sit back now that the healing was over with. Both women sweating lightly on their foreheads and their breathing a bit heavier too.
"How do you feel?" Serenity asks as she wipes some sweat from her forward. Boromir sat up slowly looking over where his wounds had been in complete shock that they were gone as if they had never been there. The only evidence was the holes in his outfit. He was astonish to see the wounds close as if they had never been there as he got to his feet.
"I feel great! Thank you! What was that you did?" Boromir question them with wonder. His rapid recover had everyone smiling happily that he was going to be alright as well. Legolas stood to Serenity's left with Aragorn to her right with Boromir next to him, follow by Amaire and Gimli in a circle. The two women
"They have the ability to heal people. It's a great gift Serenity and Amaire have." Aragorn spoke up as he walks over to them wiping his sword down. The group turn to their leader pleased to see him. "But it can come at a cost. Are you two going to be, okay?" he asks them seriously with a concern evident in his tone and eyes as he look between the two of them.
"Why wouldn't they be?" Gimli asks outloud. Boromir look at the two women and notice their skin seem paler and they were both sweating a bit along with their breathing not being back to normal just yet.
"Aragorn is right, you both look, exhausted." Gimli replies with concern as well. Amaire starts to get dizzy and collapse but is caught by Boromir who holds her close to him, so she does not fall. Serenity makes her way over to Amaire to check on her as she answers their questions.
"When we use any of our powers it takes more of our energy this includes our healing abilities too. When you have to fight and heal it can be a lot if not handle properly. I assure you we will be fine. Amaire just needs some rest."
"That's the least of our problems." Came a mysterious voice from behind Serenity and others. Legolas had his bow ready with an arrow when he turns around, Gimli's axe was up along with Aragorn's sword. Boromir held Amaire while angling his body to shield her from harm. Serenity whips around to see her friend in front of the group and she swiftly moves to be in between her group of friends and the the woman with green hair that stood before them in an odd outfit with a staff in her hand.
"She's a friend!" Serenity shouts to them with her hands up and shock in her eyes at not expecting this person in her blue eyes. At seeing Serenity's reaction, the group of men relax their stances but keep their guard up slowly lowering their swords and bows. Once Serenity saw that no one would harm her the blonde princess turns swiftly to face her guardian with a frown on her face.
"Trista, you all of people should know better than sneak up like this." Serenity chastises her. This Amaire had to hide a smirk on her face at hearing Serenity scold their friend. While the others look on surprise with how Serenity spoke to the woman. It was obvious they knew one another well. Trista had a light blush and nodded her head in acknowledgment.
"My apologies, princess." She responds simply. Serenity sighs out of exasperation at hearing the words and all that has happened in the last little bit of time.
"So, enlighten us what could be more problematic than our current situation?" Serenity asks her curiously in a calming tone for the moment.
"I cannot see anything anymore, but the present." Trista explains simply as she looks at Serenity.
"To cause such an effect something drastic would have had to happen, so where did this happen?" Serenity questions as Boromir and Legolas helps her to go to a tree to sit and lean against that is very close to the rest of the group.
"Here on Middle Earth."
"Since Endymion is here and so much has happened maybe narrowing it down a bit might be a bit helpful." Amaire sardonically replies with a bit anger in her tone with Trista being so cryptic now.
"That man was Endymion?" Aragorn asks gaining his sister's attention with the comment as she looks at Amaire with a 'really you had to bring this up now' type of look before looking at her brother and others.
"Yes, that was him."
"How does he fit into the story with you all, if he was reborn, after the destruction of the Moon Kingdom?" Boromir inquiries looking at Serenity. Serenity stares at Boromir as her eyes widen in realization hits here as to why Trista cannot see the future. She curses in Japanese before spinning around to look at Trista again.
"I'm sorry Trista, but what is done is done." Serenity said in a determine voice to her friend completely ignoring Boromir's question.
"Serenity this should not have happened." Trista says back knowing full well how Serenity was going to react to this news.
"There were risks letting us return. We knew this could possibly happen. Especially sending me of all people back!" Serenity fired back angrily. It shocks everyone to see the usually calm and sensible blonde upset. Legolas and Aragorn both went to Serenity's side to try to calm her down. Legolas stood to Serenity's left with his hand on her shoulder while Aragorn stood on her right between his sister and Trista. Aragorn did not like seeing his sister upset, but he knew there was much to talk about, and he need them both to stay calm to get all the necessary information.
"Let's just stop for a moment. Trista, is it?" Aragorn ask in a gentle voice his eyes holding compassion and understanding in them. She nods her head to confirm. "You are one of my sister's guardians?"
"Yes, guardian of Time and Space. I protect what has happened, what is happening and what will come to be." She simply explains to them in a wise tone of voice.
"Sounds like a witch to me." Gimli growls out from behind them. This reaction causes Serenity to crack a small smile and shake her head, as Trista looks at Gimli with a small amuse look on her features.
"No, my friend, she speaks the truth." Serenity states as she sighs heavily closing her eyes to focus on the issue at hand as well as calm her nerves.
"So, you can no longer see what will come to be?" Legolas asks to help and understand the problem at hand.
"Yes, one single action or event can have a ripple effect of the path. If the ripple gets strong enough it can also disrupt to where she can no longer see the path is or the outcome could be." Serenity replies with ease as if she had to explain such matters before.
"You say possible outcome as if there is more than one." Aragorn states looking at Trista first than to his sister. Serenity opens her eyes smiling at the fact her brother picks up on the wording she had just used.
"Yes, for example we could win the war or Sauron could win, but there are different paths that can be taken to reach either outcome. Everything is depended on certain events or actions, but if one of them is a ripple effect that goes the wrong way the ripple effect can destroy those known paths leaving the outcome unknown or path to get to it." She explains with a serious look on her face having the full fellowship's attention.
"What could have occurred Lassie to have this be a problem for us?" Gimli asks out loud.
"Boromir." Amaire state having everyone to turn to the elf maidan on the ground with Boromir next to her closing the water container he had just taken back as she look at him in disbelief.
"What did I do?" he asks in confusion.
"It's what Serenity and I did…. we saved you." Amaire states simply with a sad look on her face as she comes to terms with what they have just done.
"How does saving Boromir cause a ripple?" Aragorn questions them.
"How do you know I am the reason?" Boromir adds on to the question regarding the new development they had just figure out.
"Because your death would affect all of us, which in turn changes how we handle what is ahead of us." Serenity starts out before Trista continues with the explanation.
"Also, your death affects your brother, father, those in Gondor, Merry, Pippin, Sam and Frodo."
"Ripple effect." Legolas murmurs as he looks on at Boromir and others in understanding. The group is quiet for a few minutes as they digest this new bit of information. The silence is not long before Aragorn breaks it once more.
"Is there a way to fix this without killing Boromir?"
"No, but we can try to do certain things to make people think he has perished to keep the ripple effect from impacting to many. It may not completely work, but it is worthy trying." Serenity suggested skeptical that it would work. Gazing at Trista with a solemn look on her face.
"Serenity whatever you are thinking cannot take long for Merry and Pippin have been capture and must be saved." Boromir replies with concern gaining her attention. The worry for their hobbit friends written on his face.
"Then we must hasten for we cannot abandon them." Serenity spoke confidently with a smile on her face her blue eyes full of fire. "In the meantime, Legolas, Aragorn and Gimli go to the boats and grab what you can that is needed. Boromir stay with Amaire." As Trista watch Serenity take charge of the group she understood what her princess was going to try to do.
"We will need your horn, Boromir." Trista says to him. Boromir nods his head and goes to find his horn as the others head back to the boats. Serenity turns to her long time friend.
"So, I presume you are known what I am thinking of doing." Serenity states as she looks at her with a serious look on her features again.
"I do. What do you need from me?"
An hour later Serenity, Legolas, Boromir and Aragorn return to where Amaire was resting. Trista and Gimli kept an eye on her so she may rest. The sounds of feet rustling through the leaves and tree branches caught the attention of the three that had stayed behind.
"How did it go?" Trista asks as the group close the gap between them.
"It has been completed. With any luck, it stops the ripple." Legolas said.
"Yes, we set everything as you said we should. I just hope it..." Serenity explains still closing the gap between her and Trista when stops talking as she unexpectedly feels dizzy. Serenity starts to fall from trying to walk over a branch, but her foot gets caught on it due to not seeing from being lightheaded. Aragorn notices his sister's sudden awkward steps, rushes to her aid to stop her from falling.
"Serenity!" Trista replies in surprise, seeing Serenity falling, also hurrying to the blonde. Boromir, Legolas, and the rest turn around to see Aragorn rush over to the blonde princess and reaches out to get a hold of her. Everyone watches as Aragorn stops her decent and holds her tight to him. He stops her descent with her knees never hitting the ground.
"Serenity, are you alright?" Aragorn's concern voice asks her. The blonde beauty is quiet for moment before answering as she tries to regain her composure. She felt ashamed that she had such an awkward moment for them all to see.
"I am fine." She says as she straights up with her brother's help while she looks at Aragorn and the others with a smile on her face. "My foot got caught on this branch is all." She continues trying to wave of the matter as she pushes out of her brother's arms to continue to walk.
"Serenity…." Aragorn calls her out in a tone that was saying I don't believe you. Even Trista looks at her princess with a skeptical look as well.
"That is exhaustion Serenity not clumsiness." Trista said knowing what the blonde was up too.
"You have pushed yourself and you need to rest for a bit." Aragorn added the worry in his voice on trying to convince his sister to stop.
"What do you mean the lassie has pushed herself?" Gimli asks the concern on his face for the blonde beauty that stood only feet from him. Serenity shakes her head as she rolls her eyes at the two.
"It is nothing. I am perfectly fine." Serenity tries to tell them but is interrupt.
"No, you're not. You used to much of your powers causing you to get weary. You need to rest." Aragorn replies a bit more sternly with a serious look on his features. Serenity stares back at her brother with the same look. No one in the fellowship had seen the siblings have a disagreement and wonder how far this would go.
"Well, even if I could rest, we can't stay. We have to go save Merry and Pip from the Urk-hai." Serenity replies defiantly.
"Amaire is in no shape to travel also. You both need time to rest." Trista adds as well. Serenity looks at Trista and the others with annoyance written on her face.
"What do we then? We can't abandon Merry and Pip. So do you have a plan in mind?" Serenity asks out loud obviously frustrate over the topic.
"Yes, I do. You and Amarie stay here to rest, Boromir will stay with you two. Once you have your strength recover, we will meet up once more." Aragorn offers to his sister as a plan.
"I will also stay with them too, if you alright with that." Trista replies looking at Boromir's and Aragorn's approval. Boromir nods his head before speaking.
"Yes, that would be most helpful. I have a feeling these two will cause some trouble no doubt." He says with a smirk on his face and twinkle in his eyes. Serenity knew Boromir was only teasing with her, but still was not happy with the matter. She just narrows her eyes at him at little but said nothing. Serenity did not want to split from her brother having just reunited with him.
"Thank you, Trista. I appreciate your aid in helping them get their rest. We have enough food to get us by for a few days until we meet up. Get some rest and we will see you three shortly." Aragorn says to them. He nods his head to Gimil and Legolas before speaking. "Legolas, Gimli let's go hunt some orc."
