Chapter 39

Kiara felt her legs were running but, where. All she could see was trees. She was weaving in and out. She didn't know what was pulling her ahead she spotted light. She forced her body to fly through the gap. Kiara skied as rocks fell around her and a huge drop. She turned and stumbled back.

Then as she stepped back she felt a scream catch in her throat as she fell back. 'Someone help.. Please.' She thought closing her eyes and loud roar rang out. Her eyes snapped as something flew to her fast the glow from the sun made it hard to see what it was. Her hand reached up. Yellow eyes glowed back at her as familiar energy washed over her. The Moon must rise in order for Voltron to survive...

Kiara jolted her hand out like she was reaching for something. Her heart was beating fast. Her blue eyes wide. Taking in a shaky breath she looked around. "I-I-I'm in my room." She said letting out a long sigh. "Then it was a dream?" she asked as the roar still rang in her ears. Along with the phrase. 'The Moon must rise in order for Voltron to survive.'

Shutting her eyes she tried to focus on what she saw. Yellow eyes and bright body of only thing she could remember. Giving a frustrated growl she threw off her covers. It has been two days since Pidge and Alteans started to get what they could to clean up the ship's system.

As she sat felt the air vibrate faintly. It wasn't as wispy as the first time. What they were coming to was getting stronger each passing day. Yet why was she the only one able to feel it? Unless... Getting up grabbing her jacket and knife she left her room.

While the young half Azarathian was busy with whatever she figured out. Everyone else was cleaning up the dining room. "Hey, has anyone seen Kia?" Hunk asked everyone. The seven stopped and looked at each other. "Now you mention it. No I haven't." Allura said.

"I saw her. She was sprawled out in the common area, I think she was reading." Coran chimed in. "Why didn't she come to eat then?" Pidge asked voice what most of them if not all were thinking. "I asked her if she was hungry she just brushed me off." Coran explained. "Well how about we see what's going on." Shiro offered.

Kiara laid on the ground flipping through more of the records. Her eyes scan the pages. Sure she might not be able to read it all, but somehow she has some guesses on what they said. She was just hoping she was right.

Her legs kicked back and forth as the door hissed open. "Kiara what are you doing?" Shiro spoke up causing the girl to look up as the others walked in. They stared with in shock. All around her was files of something.

"Research.. So, Allura.. Your father only created the five lions right?" Kiara asked sitting back on her knees. "Yes. He made the five lions of Voltron.. Why are you asking?" Allura's own curiously growing.

"Well.. could it be possible there could be another?" she asked her. The whole room fell quite. "I don't think so my father would have mentioned a sixth lion." Allura said. Kiara chewed her lip. 'It must her then but how? She vanished years ago.'

"Kia what's going on?" Keith asked her with concern. "I don't know. That's why I am asking. I feel like I am going crazy right now." She ran her hand through her violet hair. "I just try to make sense of what this energy or whatever I am feeling right." She added.

"Kia, remember when I asked you if you felt the Blue Lion's energy?" Lance started she nodded. "Yeah..I.." Then her sea colored eyes went wider than in realization. "..That's IT!" She yelled and raced out of the room.

"Did any of you catch what just happened?" Hunk asked them all looked just as confused.

The rest of the day someone was watching her. No one had any clue what the half alien girl was up to, but she was quickly catching on to what they were doing. Right now Kiara had Lance helping her go through the medical supplies with her.

"Why are we doing this again?" He asked, setting his arm full down. "Look if your going follow me like a shadow, might as well help me with a few chores." She called over her shoulder as she handed in another box to him.

"This boring." Blue's Paladin whined. Jumping down she brushed her hands together. "Next time don't tail after me. I was gonna make whoever followed me this time. Help." Kiara walked over. "Now let's see what we have here." Kiara started to pull out bottles. "Get your lazy but over and help!" She snapped.

Lance plopped on the couch with the others. "Never again." He said. "I'm never helping her with chores again." He complained. "What happened?" Shiro asked him. "First she made me clean up the inframy then clean and put books away."

Kiara leaned her back to the door listening. "Coran, can I borrow your map?" She asked as he walked by. "Sure. what do you need it for?" he asked as they walked off. Kiara looked over her shoulder. 'Sorry guys, but there's something I need to do alone.' She then let Coran lead her into the bridge.

It was nearing evening and she managed to ditch Hunk and now she was loading up a pod. *You don't have to do this alone. I'm sure the others would be happy to help.* Coran's voice filled her ear as she sat in the pilot seat. "I know, but something is telling me I have to do this alone, Coran." She explained as she checked to make sure she had what she needed.

Still you should tell them.* Kiara bit her lip. "I can't. I am not sure if they would let me go alone... it's just, I am tired of the side lines. Sure, I have taken over training and I helped the Balmera but, I have this feeling I am not here to heal wounds and be Voltron's side kick." She explained.

Kiara didn't want to burden the others. No matter how she felt. *I understand. Just be careful out there. There are a lot of Galra where you're going.* Kiara pressed the button shutting the hatch to the pod. "Yes, Uncle Coran, I promise I'll be back." She grabbed controls.

Coran who was on the bridge opened up a wormhole. As Kiara shot from the hanger and flew into it. *I owe you one Coran!* Kiara said as she vanished into the wormhole. Coran sighed. *Good Luck.

Kiara flew through the wormhole. Her gaze fixed ahead of her. Her hands gripped the two control sticks and let out a sigh. "No turning back now." She watched as the wormhole began to open up. Thrusted forward she shot out right as it opened.
