Arie's POV:
I wince slightly at the soreness in my forearm as Bucky smirked at me, while helping me get off the black leather chair.
Tattoos for our seventh anniversary.
It's supposed to be next week but we'll be away, staying in Bucharest to scope out the city and its surroundings and to gather Intel on a supposed Hydra operative. It's supposed to take two to three weeks at the most.
I wasn't too thrilled with having to be away from my babies for so long, but Clint promised me he and Lauren would watch them at their home, where it was much safer for them to be.
What with them practically being almost two now, they were getting to be quite a handful. It would be safe if They were somewhere that doesn't need passcodes to go through each door.
Tony and Pepper promised us to watch over them too while we were away. But Bucky and I ended up deciding that since Clint's house was obscured and far away enough that only a select few of its location, would be a better choice for Jamie and Becca to stay.
It's exactly a few days after Christmas that we had to leave.
So, Bucky and I decided we would get tattoos of Becca and Jamie's birthday for our anniversary, and take the kids to Clint's house before leaving on the mission.
Bucky decided to do a small handprint, and footprint along with their birthday and names on his upper right arm, while I opted to get a cute heart and infinity sign with their names and birthday in my forearm.
It took us a few hours to get them done, before we headed out to eat brunch, and buy a few things we needed for the trip. Before driving back to the compound.
Now as we slowly made our way towards hq to grab our things and the kids' things, Bucky turned to look at me concerned.
"How are you feeling, doll?" He asked as we walked into the building hand in hand.
"Sore, but good. I think they look lovely." I whispered, with a small shrug.
"I'm glad you liked them, doll." He whispered as Tony walked out of his office eyeing my bandaged forearm with a raised brow.
"Barnes, that better not be a wound." He said, unamused.
"Why would it be a —ugh, I swear you're getting more intrusive with old age." I whispered, as I peeled it back so he could see it.
Tony scoffed, looking clearly offended, before eyeballing my forearm.
"We got some more ink done…" Bucky explained, trying to hide his growing amusement.
"Well, that looks interesting." Tony snips, with a smile.
I muttered to myself, letting go of his hand and making my way up through the stairs.
When I made my way down to our floor, Nat met me by the door with a smirk.
"Bad day?" She asked, raising a brow at me, as I pushed past her and further into the room.
"Not exactly… I'm just not in the mood for Tony's intrusiveness at the moment…" I muttered, as I made my way into the sitting room and dropped heavily onto the couch, closing my eyes before dropping my head back onto the cushion.
"Oh… well, Steve and I took the liberty of coming down here and grabbed your bags before taking them to the truck. You should be all set, just grab the Chaos Twins and strap 'em in and go …" She said as she brought me a bottle of Snapple.
I sighed in gratitude before twisting the cap of and downing half its contents.
"Someone's thirsty…." Nat commented as she sat next to me. "Is something wrong, shrimp?" She asked me as I dropped my head again.
"No, I'm just nervous about the mission… I want my kids to be ok…" I whispered.
"They'll be fine, I called Lauren earlier, she said she's got their room ready… Steve and I will be heading there a few days after you leave to stay with them, just in case. You have nothing to worry about, ok, Arie…" She whispered, patting my leg.
"Thank you, Nattie, you're the best sister from another mister anyone could have asked for." I said pulling her into a hug.
"It's what I do… Just promise me you'll be careful…" She whispered.
I nodded, looking down at my watch before sighing and standing up.
"I need to grab something from my room… I'll call you when we arrive." I said, before getting up.
Here goes nothing.
One Week Later:
We arrived in Bucharest a few days after staying with my brother Clint and Lauren.
She is currently about to have another baby. A boy, much to Nat's disappointment.
She was put out about the whole situation until Clint pointed out Bucky and I could still name our next child after her, specifically our next daughter.
Bucky smirked at me, moving his brows obscenely at me before we continued our dinner.
We left the following morning, just before sunrise.
Now, after spending the last few days holed up in this tiny apartment.
I feel myself going stir crazy.
Not to mention Bucky has grown extra possessive and it's all due to us having to go into a club to scope it out.
It was the second night after arriving, and we were supposed to go to one of the well known clubs here, scope and scanvage for leads and info.
Tony gave us the information he managed to obtain, which was practically nothing, and told us what we had to get.
I smirked after looking into one of the bags to realize why Nat had helped me gather our bags. She must have known all the shit we would have to do here.
So, I pulled out a mini, backless, asymmetrical black dress, and a pair of black four inch heels to match.
Before heading into the small bathroom, and showering, shaving my legs and every other part I needed to before getting out and beginning the long and tortuous process of getting dolled up.
I applied my make-up skillfully. Only enhancing my features.
Adding some eyeliner to make my eyes look wider, and some red matte lipstick to make my lips look extra pouty.
I added the golden double choker with a small blue pendant to accentuate the length of my neck, before finishing my hair.
I dried my hair, and styled it to soft waves before exiting the bathroom.
Bucky was sitting at the table scoping out the surrounding areas when I walked out.
His eyes bugged out of his head, before getting up and storming over to me.
I noticed he wasn't dressed yet.
"What the hell are you wearing? You do realize it's cold outside right?" He asked, smirking at me.
I smiled back angelically, before turning around and walking towards one of the bags and pulling out a tan, ankle length coat.
"You are not going out dressed like that." He said, firmly.
"It's not your choice, it's mine. So, get over it, babe. The place we're going into is where one of the leads is…" I said before pulling the coat over myself.
"Arie…" He warned.
"Either get dressed, or wait here. You have five minutes to change if you want to go. Otherwise, you're staying here." I said as I turned towards the bag and slipped in the golden cuff bracelet that held a tracking device.
He scoffed before bending down to pull out his clothes and walking into the bathroom, muttering in Romanian.
He changed into a pair of tightly fitted black slacks, a black t-shirt, and a black coat before coming out and staring at me.
"I figured you would see it my way." I said, smirking as I turned towards the door.
He grabbed my arm, pulling me towards him, before pulling towards him, flush against his body, his mouth next to my ear as he spoke again.
"You better hope any of those assholes don't try anything on you or I won't be responsible for my actions." He warned.
"Calm down, you know you're the only one for me. So, don't worry. I just want to get this over with so I can come back here to sleep." I whispered.
He groaned, touching his forehead to mine before stepping back and nodding.
"I love you, Mr.Barnes." I whispered.
"And I love you, Mrs. Barnes." He whispered back, smiling.
We stood there for a second longer before I turned, grabbing my clutch and making my way towards the door.
"Let's get this over with." He muttered as we made our way towards the door.
