Chapter 47

Team Voltron starred in shock as a White Lion flew at them from the left. It's mouth open letting out a loud roar as more ships followed after it.

Kiara gripped the flight sticks a smirk on her lips as the small cannon smiled from her blast. "Everyone split up take out those rays!" She orders them as she pressed her intercom button causing six more screens to pop up.

Shocked faces greeted her. "Hey everyone. Sorry I'm late. I had a little detour." She said to them.

A little detour? Where have you been?* Lance asked her. Snapping out of his shock. Kiara 's eyes widened swiftly. She pulled up as a blast from a cannon aimed at her she leveled out. "Long story." She explained.

Lunar fired her tail laser at the small cannon. Then circled back around firing larger blast.

Hey I can move my lion!* Hunk said. Soon Voltron broke free. All ships, lions and Voltron face the cruiser. "Nila takes a small group and gets to the castle. Kylo takes the rest and flanks us." Kiara orders as she shot forwards.

Voltron flew after her. *So what... do you have a plan?* Hunk asked her. Smirking, "take out that cannon and send this ship packing." Lunar abruptly stopped and fired the energy beam from its mouth.

Allura was beyond shock as she saw the lion coming to their aid. Even more when Kiara's face appears on the screen. It had to be impossible. Her father never made six lions, only five.

The White Lunar Lion stopped in mid flight as it shot a long range beam of blue energy at the ION cannon. Voltron raced forwards with Lion follows with six of the ships on its tail.

Alteans your White Lion Warrior sent us to lend aid.* A new face appeared a gray skin alien with purple spots.

Loud explosions rang out as the bat cruiser explosions from Voltron and Kiara's Attack.

Lunar hovers next to Voltron. *Good work team.* Shiro told them as they disbanded. "Am I in trouble?" Kiara asked them to look at Shiro. The Black Lion looks over at Lunar. The others looked at her. *We'll talk later about this.* Kiara nods. "Yes sir."

"Kylo took the others to the Castle. I'm following you Shiro." She then directed her attention to her leader.

Cutting off her video feed. "I'm sooo dead." She groaned as she recalled the shock expressions and upset ones. Purring, "they just worried about their kit."

"I know..."

Lunar touched down a few feet from where Black landed. Kiara let out a long breath. She knew they wanted answers and picking up the black cat-sized dragon cradling the animal as Lunar lowered her head.

Kiara forced her legs to walk to the exit. As she exited Shiro stood there arms crossed as she walked up to him.

Pausing she looked up at him his gaze stern. Kiara gulped as he walked over and pulled her into a hug. "Do you know how worried we were?" He asked her as she quickly back away.

"I'm sorry.." Shiro put a hand on the young Paladin's shoulder causing her to look up at him. "I'm glad you're back." He smiled and she mirrored him. "I'm glad to be back home." Kiara let him lead the way to the bridge.

She casted her eyes down at the dragon. It's chest was rising and falling slowly. 'Don't worry.' She wrapped her arms around it tighter. 'We're home. We're safe.'

Kiara follows after Shiro to the bridge. 'Everyone must be frantic.' She thought but, yet worried about what everyone would do once she walked through the door.

As she entered the room everyone spun to see her. "Kia!" Hunk leading the way ran up and hugged her. The dragon gave a cry causing Hunk to back away swiftly. Kiara stepped back as everyone gathered around her.

"Are you okay? You're not hurt are?" Shiro asked her, seeing everyone else looking a bit concerned about what just happened.

"No.. I'm, fine.." she tighten her grasp around an object in her hands. "I'm sorry I can't stay, but I need to head to the infirmary." She apologized to her friends.

A hand on her shoulder made her look to Shiro. "We understand. Take care of what you have there." Kiara gave a light smile.

"Keith go with her."

"What? Why?" Kiara asked Shiro in bewilderment. "It's just a safety measure, the castle might be a little frisky still." Shiro explains to her that she narrowed her eyes. 'Suuure it is...' She thought and gave a sigh. "Fiiiine. He can tag long." She half grumbled, turning to leave.

Keith fell into step behind her as they left the bridge. 'I'm soo getting Shiro back for this.' Kiara thought as the doors closed behind them.

The two walked through the hall. Neither said a word. Kiara bit her lip. She knew she should have done something right away for the baby dragon but, the rush of everything made her nearly forgot until now.

The dragon's breath wasn't shallow but quickly she moved her hand so it pressed on the wound. 'Hold on little one. I'm returning the favor.'

She snuck a glance back to the tailing Paladin. He didn't look very happy. Gulping she looked away. 'Yep, he's mad.' She told herself.

Keith would be lying if he said he wasn't upset with her. She had left without a word and caused him and others to get worried for her safety. The trip to the infirmary was longer than normal and tension between the two high. He narrowed his eyes at her when she looked back at him.

As Kiara quickly turned away her arms tighten around the thing in her arms. 'What is that?' He thought about trying to see what she carried with her.

Of course Kiara didn't look back at him. Soon they reach the infirmary. Opening the door they walked in.

Kiara set the object down and his gray-blue eyes widened as he saw the baby black animal laying out on her jacket. 'A dragon!'

"Keith come here and put pressure on this wound please." Kiara said briskly as he walked over. Part of her jacket was pressed to the dragon's side. Her whole jacket was soaking with the animal's blood.

Keith crouched and put his hand on the fabric as she removed her hand. Kiara got up removing her helmet and put it under her right arm. "I'll be right back."

Kiara walked off to where the makeshift medicine store she made was at the other end of the room. As she opens the cabinet to grab the supplies. 'Maybe having Shiro send someone was a good idea. But, why him?' She grabbed the small kit and put the three bottles into her helmet and walked back over to her friend.

Keith glanced up as she knelt down next to him. His blue-gray eyes widen in shock. "I thought you said you weren't injured!" His hand reached out touching the side of her face.

Kiara gave sharp hiss as he touched a dagger size cut on her right check. Removing his hand from the dragon he grabbed her chin to turn her face towards him so he could see the cut better.

"Hey! OWCH! You're doing that purpose." Kiara yelped as he touched the wound once more. "Then stop moving." Keith sternly said back. 'It didn't look to be bleeding a lot anymore, but what caused it.' He thought.

"How did it happen?" Keith asked her with narrowed eyes. "Look, it's nothing okay." She tried to tell him. He turned her head to meet her gaze. "That's not nothing. It looks like a dagger cut you." Keith said a bit too harshly.

Kiara just half glared back at him. She wasn't afraid to challenge him back. "Look. I tripped. A thorn cut my face. Happy now." She asked him blue eyes blazing. 'A thorn did that?' His eyes wide with shock. Kiara knew he was just concerned about her yet why did she act this way all the flipping time she gets herself into this kind of mess.

Kiara brushes his hand away. "Let's get back on task. I need you to clean up the wound area and numb it." She told him to change the subject.

Once she handed him the medicine to use as she prepared two meddles. Once they knocked out the dragon they quickly went to work.

About five minutes the dragon's injury was treated. "Keith go open up one of healing pods." Kiara said carefully lifted the dragon up in her arms.

Keith got up and walked to the control panel. As one of the pods rose, Kiara walked over to it.

Carefully she laid the sleeping black dragon in the pod. She stepped back to let the pod close. Keith walked over. "He will be fine by tomorrow morning." Kiara told him.

Just then the door whisked open, causing both teens to turn to see who it was. "Your leader told us where to find you." Kylo told them as he and Nila stood at the door.

Kiara quickly made her way over to them with Keith trailing after her. His eyes were wary of the newcomers. "What are you two doing here? Did it work?" She asked them to stop.

Nila nods. "Yes. White Lion Warrior. The Sandreins are now allies with your team." Kiara gave a light smile. "I'm glad to hear that." She told them.

"We're getting ready to leave now. So we wanted to come by and thank you before we left." Kylo told her while holding out one of his hands. "You helped my people and Ura's people to see that we needed each. And by working together we could drive out the Galra."

Kiara raised her eyebrows. "Are you thanking me?" They nodded. "I should be thanking you. If you and Ura didn't find me after my ship crashed, who knows what would've happened." Kiara shook his hand.

"Looks like we both did each other a favor." Kylo said. "Appears so." Kiara put her hands behind her back. "I'm sorry I wasn't with you earlier. I had to take care of this dragon I found." She told them as they walked to the pod.

Kiara elbowed Keith. He winced rubbing his arm. "Stop glaring, they are no threat." She hissed at him. They glared at each until Kylo's shocked voice spoke up.

"Amazing. I thought they were long dead." They looked over to the Sandrein. "What do you mean? Thought they were all dead?" Kiara asked him to turn her gaze off Keith.

Nila turns to face the two Paladins. "Ebony Night Terror. They were once plentiful back on Sandra. They are known as peaceful dragon's and quite curious. Many people who possess magic sought them out for their ability to relay emotions of those around them or amplify empathic powers." She explained to the now slack jawed Paladins.

Kylo nods. "He might be the last of his kind. After the Galra came. Many of our animals and people vanished." Kiara looked soft to him eyes soft. "Both of you lost someone to the Galra." Nila nods.

"Yes. My brother was taken when I was young." Kiara walked over to her resting her hand on the rocky skin girl. "I'm sure he's still out there. If you like. I can keep my eyes out for him." Kiara offered to cheer her up.

"You will?"

"Yeah. I'll keep an eye out for anyone from your race and make sure they can get home." Kylo walks over to her. "We best be on our way. Thank you again Lion Warriors. Let our paths cross again."

As they left Nila stopped. "White Warrior." Kiara blinked. "Yes." Nila points to her face. Quickly Kiara put her hand over the cut.

Nila smiles. "Sandreins have tough skin so thorns from the Ivy Thorns don't hurt us like outsiders." Kiara gave a shy smile. "Maybe you should put them around your village. I'm sure Galra wouldn't come near you then." Kiara offers up. Then another hand grasped her own moving it away.

The two Sandreins watched as the Red Lion Warrior lead his friend off. Exchange looks between them and light knowing smiles they turned and left the door closing behind them.
