I woke up sometime later in a large hospital room, to the sound of soft cooing.
"Shh… your momma needs more sleep after all the crap she went through, принцесса." I heard someone whisper softly. (Princess)
I opened my eyes, and quickly found Bucky sitting down on the couch, holding our newborn daughter, smiling happily.
"I'm up." I softly whispered, stretching some more as my eyes found his.
"How do ya feel?" He asked me, smiling brightly at me, as he moved to stand.
"Sore, a bit tired, a little shocked… and did I mention sore because totally I am. Everything hurts." I mumbled tiredly.
He softly chuckled, before shaking his head, and looking back at the baby in his arms. "I would think so, after everything you went through a few hours ago...She's so tiny…" He whispered, with a wide smile.
"Well, she is a twin, and she did hide behind her brother during every sonogram we did, so… yes, I imagine she is." I mumbled back smiling.
"Has anyone dropped by while I slept?" I asked, sitting up slowly on the bed with a wince.
"Steve and Nat are in the waiting room, Tony and Pepper asked for the key to our house, and left promptly to take Morgan, Becca and Jamie there. Sam is talking to your brother Clint and calming him down in the waiting room... Charlie said he'll be here later…" He replied, amused.
"How is Clint?" I asked, concerned.
"He's fine. Shocked. I'm actually surprised that he is after having four kids himself." He replied amused, as he laid the baby down in the bassinet.
"He wasn't there for any of the births. Not Cooper's, or Lila and Kate's, not even Nathaniel's… he was always on missions, which also happens to be the reason why he wants to retire. I don't blame him though…" I replied looking down at the two bassinets with a sad smile. "Keeping them safe is our number one priority." I replied quietly.
He nodded, "Speaking of… we still need to name those two little ones." He replied, tilting his head towards the bassinets.
I nodded, "How about Natalia Grace and Joseph Gage.." I replied.
"Natalia Grace Barnes, and Joseph Gage Barnes." He replied. "I like it." He added smiling.
"Do you think they'll like it?" I asked, smiling.
Bucky shrugged, "They're our kids. They'll learn to like it if they don't." He replied nonchalantly.
I snorted, shaking my head at them before laying back down. "Did they take them to get them tested yet?" I asked.
"No, I asked them to do the tests here. Where I can keep an eye on them and you." He replied.
A small smile spread on my face as he smiled back at me. "You delivered our babies." I whispered, wide-eyed.
He nodded, "I wanted to be prepared, I wasn't sure if anything would happen, but I had a feeling." He replied, shrugging.
I let out a small laugh in disbelief.
Just as I was about to respond, a knock came from the door, opening a moment later.
"Knock, knock, are you guys up for some company now?" Nat asked as she peeled her head in.
"Come on in. We were just talking." I replied, smiling as she and Steve walked in with their arms full of gifts.
"We brought you three, a few things." She said as she set down two blue and pink teddy bears with balloons, before Steve set down a large vase of flowers.
She and Steve exchanged a quick loving look before turning to us.
"So, have you two decided what the little ones will be named?" She asked, turning to us.
I nodded, as Bucky moved to sit next to me on the bed, before wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "We have." I confirmed.
"Well?" She asked, excitedly.
Bucky and I smiled at each other before turning to look at them. "Natalia Grace and Joseph Gage Barnes." He finally said.
Nat's eyes widened as she stared at me, "You—you're naming her a—after me?" She asked as her eyes began to water.
I smiled widely, "I figured I should keep my promise. I mean Clint sure as hell isn't going to do it. I think after seeing me giving birth, he may have been put off." I snickered.
Steve choked on his laughter, as he shook his head at me.
"From what I heard Bucky is the hero." He commented as they both walked over to sit down on the couch.
I smiled, looking over at my husband with a loving smile. "He is." I replied.
He kissed the top of my head, before chuckling in response.
"So, you two are sure you want to name her after me? You don't have to." Nat said smiling.
"Of course, we're sure." I said, smiling as little Nat groaned.
Bucky nodded in agreement, smiling as she rushed over to hug me.
