Author's Note: Hello everyone! I'm back almost 20 years later to finish this story. I planned on doing this years ago, but life happened. Yes, I'm still the same author you know and love, but as I've aged, my writing style has changed. But I still remembered this story. Thank you to anyone who waited for this. If you remember this story from when I first published it, write it in the comments. For the sake of early 00's nostalgia, I'm going to keep the scene breaks from before along with the technology of the era.

Love you guys!

When Worlds Collide

Chapter 5

A light knocking awoke her from a troubled nap under her temporary fort of pillows and blankets in her bed that was far too large for a young teenage girl. The door creaked open while she shivered. She felt a light tap on her pillow. "May I enter your fort, Princess?" She lifted the gold embroidered blanket to see her brother giving her a soft smile. "You may," she said in a quiet, hushed voice. The prince climbed under his sister's blanket fort and covered up. "Thank you for your mercy." He pat her on the head. "You know Father is upset with you." She nodded. "But, I think deep down, he's proud of you." He leaned in closer. "Father laughed when he heard what you said, but I didn't tell you." He winked. She smiled. "I'm in trouble." Her brother winced and nodded. Her shoulders slumped. "Don't worry, I tried to soften him up for you." He reached his arms around his sister to hug her. She hugged him. "Can I join you to the Moon Kingdom and spend time with princesses from other planets?" He kissed her forehead. "I can't promise anything. However, if you show Father that you can handle yourself, he should let you visit." Her eyes lit up. "I always miss you when you visit Princess Serenity." He stroked her curly hair. "I know, Terra. But, when we get married, I'll try to let you continue your studies there. Who knows? Father may believe it would be good for you." She smiled at her brother in response with hope in her eyes "But first," he said as he cradled her hand for her to stand next to him. "We have to meet Father." She hugged her brother around his waist. "Lady Beryl is such a pain to deal with, brother."

In their father's study, the two siblings bowed before their father. "Now, Princess Terra. You know how many times I've told you about to prize the decorum of your position." Terra sighed. "Yes, father." The king's eyes narrowed as he looked at his daughter. "You cannot just raise your voice at people who are beneath you. It's unfitting of your station as the secondary heir of this kingdom. Think about the people! You're their princess, too." Terra's eyes stared at the ground during this tongue lashing. "Yes, Father." She said as she pinned her head to her chest. The king stood. "Even though the sentiment is correct, you're still in trouble." The king paced in his study. "What would be an appropriate punishment for you?" "Father…" the prince interrupted. "Maybe she could train with the royal guard as punishment?" The prince squeezed his hand behind his back, hoping this would work. The king smiled. "You'll make a fine king one day, my son. This punishment fits the crime. Maybe some additional martial training will temper her outbursts." The king chuckled to himself. "Thank you, Father. May I suggest she train under General Jadeite?" The prince gestured to Terra as he bowed. "Please, father." She added. The king placed a hand on her shoulder. "We'll do as your brother said, little princess. Endymion," he turned to the prince. "See that your sister receives the same training as any other soldier or you won't be able to attend the ball and neither will she." Endymion cradled his sister's hand. "Father, what will you do about Lady Beryl's disturbance?" The king rubbed his temples. "Lady Beryl is a powerful sorceress and has been helpful to the Earth kingdom. She's still angry that I refused her request to marry you, as the Moon Princess is to be your wife."

Tani heard a knock on the door as the sun shone on her face. Waking up, she flung off the sheets. For a moment, she couldn't tell who she was. "Lady Tani," Jadeite's voice came through like velvet. She nodded to herself, realizing she was Tani again, not Terra. She wondered who was this "Terra" and why did the name feel so natural to her? "If you don't want to miss your mother's delicious cooking, you need to get ready for breakfast." She rubbed her eyes and blinked a few times as her stomach rumble. She stood, feeling her feet on the carpet. "On my way, Jed. Thanks." She could hear his soft chuckles behind the door as his footsteps trailed off.

Zoicite ran into the arms of Malachite in his hospital room. He caressed her face and pressed his lips to hers. As he held her close, she blushed in front of the others.

"You are all feeling better." Tani smirked at them. "Indeed," Malachite beamed. "Even better, we convinced the medical staff to release us early." Nephrite stood and stretched, holding his jacket in his hands. "I wanted to call and inform you, but someone wanted to see a particular person's reaction." Zoicite was in tears, knowing that Malachite waited just for her. "My love, we can be together all the time." Malachite picked a rose from the same flower bouquet she brought from them earlier and presented it to her. "Always, my love." Nephrite chuckled. "You could have at least given her a new one." Zoicite narrowed her eyes at him. "It's the thought that counts, you… you idiot!" Nephrite rolled his eyes at her.

"So, are you all discharged, packed, and ready to go?" Tani interjected, as she held her hands up. "Yes, we're ready. We've heard a lot about your home." Nephrite lifted his brows. "Well, it's not glamorous and you'll have to share rooms." Nephrite groaned as his brows scrunched up. "Do I have to share?" Tani looked to Jadeite. "Why not share a room with me, Maxfield? Then, the lovebirds can have a room to themselves." Nephrite smirked. "Oh? I thought you'd be sharing a room with Tani." Tani turned around to face the wall. Her face was as red as a beet. "I have my room and we have two guest rooms." She blurted out. Jed noticed her reaction and chuckled. He walked over to Nephrite and put an arm around his shoulder. "Now, you know we're friends, or at least colleagues. Let's go get you a bed because there's no way I'm sharing one with you." Nephrite groaned. "Fine. But it better be comfortable." Tani picked up her phone. "Hi Mom. Can I borrow some money for some furniture?"

"Well, at least it isn't the worst part of town." Nephrite sighed in the backseat he shared with Malachite and Zoicite. "Will you stop sighing? Your expanding chest is taking up all the space!" Zoicite said as she leaned into Malachite, who rubbed his temples. "It's bad enough we're cramped in such a tiny car. We need to wait for beds." Nephrite leaned his face in his hand. "Now, now. Stop your bickering children or Daddy with have to punish you." Jadeite said as he watched for Tani's reaction. She giggled at his quip while she drove. "At least you all made Mama laugh." Tani blushed hard and exhaled. This happened a few roads from the house because she wouldn't have been able to contain herself otherwise.

After their pleasantries and introductions to Joyce, she left to buy groceries. Tani decided it would be best to let them know the truth. She figured it would be better to try this on Jadeite first.

"Jed." She tugged his sleeve. "Can I talk to you in private?" She whispered in his ear. Jadeite raised a brow and looked at her, surprised. "As you wish, Lady Tani." The others watched this interaction. "Be careful, you don't mesmerize her too much with that charm of yours." Nephrite winked while sipping a drink. "This is some lovely lemonade." Zoicite picked up the bottle. "That's because it's hard." After looking at the glass, Nephrite continued to drink. "No wonder it's so good."

Jadeite entered Tani's room, and she closed the door behind them and took a deep breath. Jadeite thought he should try something to get a better understanding of their relationship. He pressed her against the door with his body. His fingertips lifted her chin as kissing her to see how would respond. To his surprise, she kissed him back, then turned her head. "That's not why I called you in here, but thank you." She pushed past him to sit on her windowsill. Jed placed a hand over his mouth, remembering her soft lips. It felt like a very distant memory, not recent. He smiled and sit next to her, without the distance this time. "Then, Lady Tani, why did you summon me to your bedchamber?"

Tani's heart was racing. His lips were so soft and moist. Jadeite's face looked like perfection to Tani. She had to breathe to regain her composure. "I wanted to tell you more about your past. I wanted to tell you the truth about everything." Jadeite stroked her arm. "Lady Tani, if it's painful to you. You don't have to reveal it all now." His voice was as soft as a warm hug. Tani sighed. She was enjoying the attention. Being 19 years old and flirting with her favorite character was a fan girl dream. But, this wasn't why she called him in here. In her heart, she couldn't stand keeping the secret anymore. She stood. "The easiest way to explain this…" She walked over to her bookcase and pulled a DVD. "… Is to show you this." She knew from Jadeite's furrowed brow that something about it bothered him. "Who is this silly girl?" Tani sighed again. "This is Sailor Moon, the Moon Princess." Jadeite narrowed his eyes. Tani continued. "She defeated the Negaverse Generals and Queen Beryl." He grabbed his head. "Beryl!" He crumpled to his knees. Tani tried to rush to him, but he stopped her. "Don't come closer!"

Jadeite's mind raced at the name of Beryl. Hatred, fear, and subjugation swirled in his mind as he slammed his fist on the ground. "Listen, Sailor Moon destroyed her!" Tani pleaded. "Sailor Moon… destroyed Queen Beryl…" Jadeite collapsed onto the ground.

"Jed! Jed!" Tani shook him. "Jed!" she shook her head. "Jadeite! Wake up!" She yelled. He opened his eyes with a blank expression on his face. He touched her face. "Thank you for worrying about me. How long was I unconscious?" Tani held his hand. "Only for a few moments. Let's get you off the floor." Jadeite felt it a bit much to ask this of her, but he felt he needed it. "No, not yet. Could you… comfort me?" Tears spilled from his eyes. Tani lay next to him on the carpet and held him close to her as she stroked his hair. Jadeite sobbed in her arms. This felt right to him. Her touch felt familiar, like an ancient memory. He let his emotions get to him and he felt she could protect him from everything.

Nephrite stood, causing everyone to look at him as he held a hand up. They could all hear the faint crying of someone. They all rushed and followed the sound. "He's crying all right," Zoicite whispered. Malachite knocked on the door. "Is everything alright?" A few moments, a puffy eyed Jadeite answered the door with Tani holding him. She knitted her eyebrows as she eyed them. "You all need to see this."

They all gathered around Tani's room. Jadeite showed the mall the Sailor Moon DVD. "I knew that was important!" Zoicite exclaimed. "This is Sailor Moon, the Moon Princess." Malachite frowned. "Something about that sounds familiar indeed." Jade paced and looked toward Tani. "She defeated Queen Beryl." Zoicite held Malachite as tears ran down her eyes. He held her with tears in his eyes, trying to his best to be strong for her. Nephrite grit his teeth. "Beryl! That scornful woman!" He clung to his chest as if he was still in pain. Tani turned to them, holding Jadeite's hand. "You're all free now. She has no control over you anymore!" They all seemed to have a bit of joy. "Now, if you're experiencing the same thing I did, you're full of emotions with a vague memory. I believe if we want to find answers, we need to watch this." Jadeite handed the DVD to Tani and she played it for them.
