Cammie POV

'What do you mean it's gone?' Bex came next to me, pulling all the books off the shelf.

'It's not here! It's gone! So are Joe's watch and Abby's keys! FUCK!' I punched the wall. A decision I instantly regretted. Shit, shit, shit.

'Macey, get some ice' Bex put her hand over the top of my hand. 'It's not broken, but it'll bruise'

'Liz…'

'Already looking through the footage!' She said. I looked up to find her at the cabinet, rewinding the tapes by hand.

'Last time we were here was November, right?' Bex asked. I nodded 'So could it just be someone breaking in?'

'Bex, do you even have to ask that?' I shook my head. We both knew that only a trained operative could get into here, find the hidden passage and open the safe without setting off serious alarms.

'Here' Macey handed me the ice.

'Thanks' I moved to sit back on the armchair.

'Did Rachel leave anything in there?' Macey asked. I shook my head.

'She said her only safe thing was her necklace' I reached up and felt the chain around my neck, safe and secure.

Bex knelt in front of me.

'Cam…' She said slowly 'We know that Liz and you have memorised that journal back to front, so whatever happens we know what's in that book. What us three need to know is the significance of the other two objects.'

I took a deep breath, thinking back.

'Joe never explained what the watch did but he always said that he'd be lost without it. Abby's was two keys; one was to a storage facility in D.C., the other was for the safehouse'

'Do you know the address?'

I nodded.

'Good. Then we have a lead' She turned to Liz 'How's it going Liz?'

'It'll take me awhile to rewind that far. I'm only up to March'

'Keep working on it. Macey & I will do a perimeter check. Make sure there's no unwanted visitors watching the cabin'

'I'll come with you' I said.

'With all due respect, Cam. First of all, you've hurt your hand and need to keep ice on it. Secondly, if there is someone out there, Liz can't be left alone'

'Fine' I pouted, knowing that Bex was right.

'Clear. Nothing seems out of the ordinary' Bex said as she and Macey came through the doors. 'Any luck on your side?'

'We got a partial video of someone coming in. But, like everyone seems to be nowadays, they're highly trained and took out the camera. The cameras turned back on about three hours after. Plenty of time for whoever it was to come in, take the stuff, and get out.' Liz informed them.

'Cam, you good?' Macey asked me. I was still sitting in the chair. The ice had made my hand go numb but I welcomed the feeling. It was a different sensation to what I've been dealing with recently.

'Tell them' I said to Liz.

'The guys found the tracking device Bex placed on them' Liz announced.

'For fuck sake!' Bex cursed 'I hid it perfectly!'

'Not perfect enough' Macey quipped.

'Listen, Princess' Bex whirled on her, 'If you think you could do a better job, by all means, you do it next time'

'Trust me I will'

I whistled to break up the argument 'It doesn't matter if they found it or not. What matters is that we now know for sure they're a team of three' I said

'So we have the upper hand, right? That's good!' Macey said.

'Yes and no. Yes because they don't know who Liz is and no because-'

'Because they know us' Bex finished for me. Macey stepped forward

'And the only one they won't see coming is-'

'Me' Liz's voice was incredibly small, full of fear but also full of power.

'Not necessarily…' I smirked

'Why are you smirking?' Bex asked

'Because I think I have a plan…'

It took us only 24 hours to come up with a plan, pack our bags once again, set up a few more security measures so no one could come back here, and set off to D.C.

Currently, I'm sitting on a bench in the park across the street from Abby's apartment. We've been staking it out from the moment we arrived...which was two days ago. There was movement definitely in there. The lights are turning on and off. No one had entered or exited the building. So we formed a plan.

'Here' Bex handed me a hot chocolate.

'Thanks' I smiled, grateful for the warmth.

'This brings back memories' She sighed. I chuckled.

'Our first mission. Trying to tail the most paranoid target'

'And you meeting the love of your life' She teased. I gagged on my drink.

'I hate you. Josh was just-'

'-Normal' Bex shrugged taking a sip of her drink 'And he was the first guy that saw you as you. None of us blamed you for it'

'I'm just glad Mom dealt with him before he ended up dead' I gave a shiver.

'Do you check up on him?' She asked. I shook my head.

'No. Last time I saw him, he asked me to thank my mom for the tea' I gave her a pointed look.

'Ah' She took another slip 'I hope that the tea is still working'

'Yeah. Me too' I took another sip.

'In position' Macey said through the comms

'Ditto' Liz replied.

'That's my cue' Bex stood up and walked away. I kept my eyes fixed on the building opposite me.

'Initiate phase one'

I stood up and made my way to be directly across the street. From here, I could hear the fire alarm going off in the building...and in the next building...and the building across the street.

Soon there was a flood of people descending out of the buildings. All panicked and dressed in whatever clothes they could grab. Some still in last night's clothes, others in pjs and then appeared three guys all dressed in black scanning the crowd and checking their surroundings more than any other person.

'Everyone ready for phase two?' I asked. A chorus of yes filled my ears. I smiled at the same moment a certain green eyed guy looked across the street directly at me.

'Game on'

He muttered something and his two friends looked over in my direction. Their mouths dropped open slightly.

I gave them a mock salute just as a bus drove past, and you guessed it, when the bus passed, I had already vanished.

...

Zach POV

We were chilling in the safe house when the fire alarm sounded.

'What the hell?' Grant exclaimed. I checked the windows and there wasn't anything out of the ordinary, just a couple of people in the park.

There was a knock at the door. All of us grabbed our guns.

'Excuse me!' It was a girl's voice. 'We need to evacuate the building! There might be a gas leak' She knocked again. 'Hello?! I know there's someone there!'

I approached the door, Grant gave me a nod, signalling that he's got my back. I opened the door a crack to see a young woman, cradling what seemed to be a baby.

'Can you not hear the alarm? You need to leave. Now' She barked at me before walking away.

'Looks genuine' Jonas said

'Nothing ever is' I said, grabbing a jacket 'Stay alert'

We made our way down the stairs with the rest of the residence until we got outside. I checked my surroundings to see if there was anything suspicious, but nothing.

'Something doesn't feel right' I muttered, continuing to search the crowd. That's when I saw her. The impossible girl smiling at me. No, not smiling, smirking. My smirk. I have to say, if I wasn't angry right now, she kinda looks cute with the smirk.

'6 o'clock' I muttered. Jonas and Grant turned the same way.

'Is that…?' Just as the words left Jonas' mouth, a bus drove passed blocking our view, and when it drove past, she was gone.

'Did she just…?'

'Shit' I hissed, running across the road to look for her. I ran into the park, knowing that would be the easiest escape route. I looked around and caught her eye once again.

She pulled up her navy hoodie and shrugged as if challenging me.

I smirked, she wasn't going to get away from me this time. I sprinted after her, but she was able to weave through the crowd with ease.

There was a massive crowd of school children who littered the pathway. Cam managed to weave through them and emerged on the other side, whereas I was caught up in the throng of kids.

Eventually I emerged through the crowd and chased the blue hoodie down. I watched as she stumbled over a trunk of a tree, falling onto the ground.

'You were quick' I said, standing over her 'But not quick enough'

I spun her around, smirking triumphantly. But my smirk disappeared very quickly. This girl was not Cam.

'Get off of me you creep' She snapped, pushing against my shoulders

'Who are you?' I asked, letting her go.

'Tina. Who the fuck are you?'

I opened and closed my mouth confused.

'I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else'

'Yeah, no kidding' She rolled her eyes and walked away. I searched the park again.

How the fuck did I lose her?

'Zach!' Grant caught up to me, out of breath.

'She's gone' I snapped, kicking the trunk of the tree

'That's not the worst part'

'What do you mean?'

'She played us'

Just then, there was a sound of a distant explosion.

Author's Note: Hello everyone! Hope you're all going well! So Zach and Cammie have crossed paths once more, and then Tina showed up, did Cam call her? Or is this all a coincidence? Who am I kidding, nothing is ever a coincidence in their lives. So, what do you think will happen next? Also, how would you feel about possibly two chapters a week? Tuesdays? Please tell me if that's what people want or I'll keep just doing once a week. Let me know! Stay safe and see you soon xxx

cloetheclarinet: Thank you :) xxx

MaggieMG: Aww thank you! I didn't think of Mr & Mrs Smith but I totally get the reference! xxx

covertoperative456: Hmmm, is the Spiderman watch just a red herring? Am I trying to trick you all? Mwhahaha. But yes, all of your questions will be answered soon! xxx

Archer5210: Ah, I'll have to check out your story! I'm sure I have before. Coming from someone who is also working on multiple stories simultaneously, it's okay to stop and focus on one for a while. NEVER QUIT! Inspiration may take a little longer for some stories but it'll get there eventually. Even if you attempt to do one chapter a month or every two months, then it's a goal! Please, please, please never give up! Hiatus can last as long as possible, just never give up! I'm glad that you're enjoying this story! I'm loving writing it so far! xxx

AllyCarterFan101: The boys didn't show up at the cabin, so the girls went to the boys. Fun little almost meeting, right? Zach doesn't know what (or who) is about to hit him. Aww thanks! I'm glad you're hooked! You could be right in your theory, but for certain, the CIA is not involved...or are they? Preston is dead, that's for sure. I'm glad that you're enjoying this and I'm looking forward to showing you what I've got planned xxx

Guest: Zach & Cammie will have tension for a little while. One of them will also be tied to a chair at some point...xxx

Roxie: No worries! I'm glad that you are enjoying this story! Matthew's journal will pop up at some point. Do you think Zach has it? xxx

Guest: Thank you! xxx

gymnast1150: Grant is very much trying to be reasonable and rational at the moment. Whereas Zach is just like; this girl lied to me, then tried to kill me and then saved my life so I'm going to trust her because he 'just [has] a feeling'. Typical for the both of them really - always trusting their guts. Feelings might be there, but micro at this point. WHO INDEED?! I so so SO wish that I can tell you who is behind this and what happens to Zammie but I can't! You might be right in your theories, you might be wrong, you'll just have to wait and see! I don't want to keep teasing you, but that's all I can do for now! Ahhh! Zach and Cammie are very important to whoever is behind all of this all and their lives are more intertwined than you might think...Not too much longer until they're pinning each other against a wall (and not in a romantic way). Mwhahaha, is the Spiderman watch something? Is it just a red herring to throw you all off? Am I just teasing you? The answer to two of those questions is 'yes'...mwhahaha. Awwww, your reviews make me smile so much and I'm glad that you are loving this! xxx

Loveit: Thank you! I honestly don't know at the moment, this might be my longest story or it'll come close to Something Missing. We'll just have to wait and see. xxx
