Zach POV

'So, we meet again' Her eyes widened ever so slightly. I don't think she was shocked, but...impressed?

'I guess so' She smiled 'Sorry for the little switch in the park, got to keep you on your toes'

The elevator doors shut, leaving just the two of us, alone, in a metal container.

'And our apartment blowing up? Was that you?' I asked

'Hey' She held her hands up 'You were warned about the gas leak'

And with that I threw a punch, which she dodged & kicked me back. We began to have hand-to-hand combat in the tiny space.

She was quick and nimble, using the walls to help push her off.

I managed to press her against the elevator wall.

'Where is he?' I hissed. My hand to her throat.

'I don't know what you're talking about' She pushed on my shoulders, choking a little bit.

'Tell me where-'

The elevator dinged. The doors began to open & people muttering on the other side.

'Try anything and I'll snap your neck. Understand?' I snapped. She nodded. I loosened my grip on her throat, placing one hand on her hip and the other on the wall behind her, trapping her in the corner. Her grip on my shoulders loosened too, she kept them placed firmly on my chest.

Our faces were very close, our eyes constantly connected.

A couple entered the elevator. They were tourists discussing (or arguing) about where they wanted to go next.

'I say we go back to the hotel,' The woman said.

'And I say we do something else before then' Her husband huffed.

'Well, I say - Oh' She noticed us 'My, don't you two look cute' She smiled. She was wearing a baseball cap with 'I heart D.C' Embroidered across it.

'Thank you' Cam smiled at her sweetly, innocently, like butter wouldn't melt. But there was something in her eyes, cautious, on edge.

'How long have you been together?' The woman asked.

'Not that long' I replied

'Ah how sweet. Young love. Do you remember that hun? Us being you and in love?'

'Mmm' Her husband replied

'We'll be married 25 years this year' She smiled proudly.

'How...sweet' Cam said

'The one thing I tell all couples is that when you find the one; never let them go'

'Trust me' I told the woman 'I'm not letting her go'

'Aww babe' Cam's hands ran up my neck to my jaw, she pulled my head down as if to kiss me, but went to whisper something in my ear. 'They're armed'

'You sure?' I whispered, my eyes searching hers.

'Look at the reflection' She replied back. Cam shifted position in order for me to look over subtly, she had her hands around my neck & started playing with the hair at the base of my head. God it was driving me crazy. I looked back at Cam and she stopped immediately, clearly not knowing she had that effect on me.

I looked past her and saw the shape of a gun sticking out of the guy's back pocket. I looked at Cam and nodded. She nodded, dropping her hands and pressing the emergency stop button.

'Before we get started…' Cam tilted her head side to side causing it to click. '...can I just say…' She looked right at the woman '...a tourist hat? Wow. Such a cliche'

The woman chuckled hollowly. 'You little bitch' She hissed.

And with that, Cam punched her straight in the face. I threw myself at the guy, stopping him from reaching his gun. We wrestled until I grabbed him in a headlock, holding him until he fell unconscious. I turned to see Cam standing over the unconscious woman, a gun in her hand.

'Don't' I hissed

'I should have killed her last time'

'You know her?' I stared at her in astonishment

'They were two of the team that attacked me in Boston' She clicked her gun.

'Don't' I said again, standing in front of her. 'We're in a metal container. You fire that shot and the likelihood is that one of us get hit'

'I don't miss' She rolled her eyes.

'Okay fine. But don't you think there's going to be a lot of questions and an investigation if two bodies wind up dead here?'

She raised her eyes to look at me.

'Think about it' I said. Cam stared at me for a while before lowering her gun. She pressed the button again to get the elevator moving.

She slumped against the wall and closed her eyes for a moment.

'It's not over' She muttered

'What is?' I asked. She opened her eyes and looked at me. She looked lost, exhausted and genuinely tired. She opened and closed her mouth.

'I think we need to have a talk. Properly' I said.

'Yeah. Me too' She nodded 'And I know just the place'

'The ruby slipper exhibit?' I raised my eyebrow

'There's no place like home' She said stretching her arms out wide 'Plus, this part of the museum is dead by 5 pm. No one will disturb us'

'How can you be sure?' I checked my surroundings, but she was right, there was nobody.

'I came here a lot with my family' She shrugged

'You lived in D.C?' I was surprised she was sharing information with me

'On and off. I've moved around a lot. Not always my choice.'

'I get it' I said, and I did. I knew what it was like to never really have roots anywhere 'So…How did you find me?'

'Spy' She pointed to herself and smirked. It made me angry.

'Don't do that'

'Why?' She crossed her arms 'You don't own the spy-and-point move'

'Actually I do'

'No, you don't. That move belongs to Joseph Solomon'

I froze at her words. My blood began to boil.

'How do you know Joe?'

'How do you know Joe?' She repeated.

'I thought we were going to have a proper conversation'

'And we are. But we're playing by my rules'

'Oh really?' I raised my eyebrow

'Yeah, we are' She took a step forward 'Why don't you check in with your buddies, see how they're getting on?'

I narrowed my eyes, wondering what on earth she was playing at.

'Boys, come in' I asked into the comms

'They're a little...tied up right now' A British voice came through the comms. I glared at Cam.

'This was all part of your plan, wasn't it?'

She shrugged 'Got to plan for everything'

'Even this?' I pulled out my gun, aiming it at her. She didn't even flinch 'I will ask this once more, how do you know Joseph Solomon'

'Same way you do. Through Blackthorne'

'Okay fine. How do you know about Blackthorne?'

'I was raised by Blackthorne Boys'

'I don't believe you'

'Well, it's the truth' She looked at me, all of her walls, gone.

'You said in the elevator it's not over. What isn't over?'

'I don't know. Someone's been looking for me for a while. I thought it was you guys but things aren't adding up'

'Like what?'

'Preston's death. Someone using his phone. The bombing at the ball. The shrapnel bombs. It seems like someone has gone to a big effort to get my attention. I thought it was you but-' She stopped herself

'But what?' I raised an eyebrow

'You seem as desperate to find Joe as I am...which is why I'm sorry for this…'

'Sorry for-' Something cold was smacked to my head, I turned to see the girl Tina from the park, holding the wrapper for a patch which she attached to my head. I turned back to Cam as her figure became blurry. I lost the feeling in my legs.

Cam caught me and helped lower me to the ground.

'I'm sorry' That was the last thing I heard before the world went dark…

I opened my eyes slowly, feeling like I was recovering from the worst hangover in the world. I rolled my head around, stretching and hearing all the little clicks. I tried to pull my hands up to rub my eyes but found that I couldn't move them.

I opened my eyes wider to find myself tied up to a chair.

'Oh...shit'

'Finally you're awake' I looked to my side to see Grant.

'How long was I out?'

'Only a few hours' I looked to my other side to see Jonas 'We've been here for six in total'

'Damn...what happened to you guys?' I asked

'No clue. They just came out of nowhere. There were too many of them' Grant gave a shudder, traumatised.

The door opened. Entered Cam. She was dressed in a grey tank top with blue ripped jeans. She looked casual, comfortable. I looked at her face, her eyes were rested which made me glad for a moment. She shut the door behind her.

'Grant Newman. Jonas Anderson. Zachary Goode'

She crossed the room in front of us.

'How do you know-'

'Shh' I cut Jonas off.

'Do I have your attention now?'

We all stayed silent. Cam took this as an opportunity to continue 'You three are part of the converted and exclusive Blackthorne Boys. Am I correct?' She folded her arms, looking at us carefully. We didn't say anything.

'Who are you?' Grant asked 'How do you know so much about us?'

'She said she was raised by Blackthorne Boys' I said. 'And she knows Joe' Cam looked at me carefully.

'Are you Joe's daughter?' Jonas asked. Cam's face went into alarm and surprise. I looked at him, waiting to elaborate. 'There's a rumour that a Blackthorne Boy had a kid. But all records and all information was redacted or destroyed. The child is basically a ghost'

'What else did the rumour say?' Cam asked.

'That-'

'-How about you untie us?' I interrupted. Cam glared at me.

'Not going to happen'

'Then we won't say anything' I smirked at her. She huffed and rolled her eyes 'You know, for someone so skilled, you're quite bad at interrogation'

This caught her off guard, struck some sort of nerve.

There was a knock at the door, Cam's eyes never wavered from mine.

'You need to see this' Her British friend said. Cam paused for a moment, her eyes still not wavering from mine.

She moved across the room, pausing just before the door.

'Oh, and for the record, I'm not bad at interrogations. I've just had more experience in your position'

She turned to exit the room. As she was leaving, I caught a glimpse at the scars on her back. And my heart broke.

Author's note: It's been a while since I've done multiple uploads a week & honestly I've missed it! So glad that you guys are all enjoying this story as much as I've been loving it! Can't wait to share more with you on Tuesday xxx

MaggieMG: Glad you're loving it! I'm going to keep two-a-week uploads for now (I've got several chapters already written) xxx

gymnast1150: You're not a horrible person at all! I should have given you a heads up! Tina was part of the plan, a healthy distraction & now the boys seemed to have caught up to them. I took a lot of inspo from the books for the escape scene, what do you think of my twist on the elevator scene? Zammie is beginning to brew... It might not be the boys, but they definitely have secrets of their own. So the Tiffany St James was just a name, the guys were pinging Preston's phone and the invitation was to Tiffany St James so they thought that 'she' would be someone they needed to talk to. But clearly someone planted the name to grab both Zach & Cammie's attention. Zach for curiosity, Cammie for fear. The guys mission will be revealed soon, I promise! I have it all planned out, *evil laugh* mwhaha. Thank you so much as always! Don't worry about a late review! Love ya xxx

tiffanystjames: Thank you so much! xxx

AaGallagherGirl: It was Zach in the elevator! And a little bit of Zammie thrown in too. What do you think is in the envelope? xxx

BugheadHastings: Thank you! There was a little hint of Zammie in here just for you but there is more coming very very soon! Aww thanks! I feel like Cammie is so scared for her life that she's not going to turn around and go 'wow, this guy who is trying to kill me is actually really cute, maybe I should just risk it all?' She's protecting herself but will Zach be able to break her barriers down? Aww that's so cute! I agree that romantic feelings just kind of creep up on someone, but for Cammie it's a huge risk. Zammie soon though! xxx

Archer5210: Thank you! Gallagher Girls support Gallagher Girls so instead of putting Liz in the firing line, she called on Tina, Eva & Courtney for help. (I promise Tina is not evil in this story - I have a love/hate relationship with Tina being Evil or Good in my stories. But she's most definitely good in this). Thank you for being my 100th review! Crazy that people are loving it that much! xxx

Guest: The elevator scene is one of my FAVOURITE scenes in the whole franchise & I just had to add it in, but with my own little twist. Thank you so much xxx

covertoperative456: There is so much strength as the Gallagher Girls working together. This story is all about suspense! What do you think is in the envelope? xxx

Guest: Thank you! xxx
