Cam POV

London. A city populated by nearly 10 million people and for the next however long, home to us seven spies.

Tina and the other girls went back to DC seeing if they can trace the two that attacked Zach and I in the elevator & if nothing comes up, they're going to go back to Italy. Zach kept his promise and didn't mention the convent to anyone. He was right, it is a lead, but I'm not ready to try and open up a part of me that has been locked away for so long.

'What are you thinking about?' Zach's voice made me jump. I turned to my side to see him leaning against the railings causing his biceps to bulge under his black top. Stop it Cam.

'Your necklace. You fiddle with it when you're thinking about something' He reached over, his fingers skimming mine. I let go, not realising that I had it between my fingers. 'It's pretty'

'Thanks' I replied.

Zach and I were standing close, not quite pressed-against-each-other-in-the-elevator-close but close enough.

Zach glanced just above me 'Target. 7 o'clock. Navy Jacket'

I glanced over my shoulder to see a boy, around my age, exactly how Zach described walking down the steps.

'I see him' I purred

Zach went to move but I placed a hand against his chest.

'Wait' I continued to watch the figure whilst ignoring the feeling of Zach's toned chest under my fingertips. STOP IT CAM!

'We need to move or we'll lose him' Zach hissed. I rolled my eyes.

'You're such a Blackthorne Boy'

I allowed the target to disappear around the corner before setting off.

When we turned the corner, there was a string of market stalls on either side selling everything from slices of pizza, fresh veg to homemade bags and jewellery.

'We're going to lose him' Zach snapped irritated.

'Have some faith' I replied coolly, making my way through the crowd,'Oh these look pretty' I stopped and examined a pair of earrings.

'Seriously? We don't have time for window shopping' Zach tugged on my arm, his eyes scanning the crowd. I glared at him.

'Okay. How about we split up, you do it your way and I do it the right way'

Zach smirked at my proposition.

'Challenge accepted'

Zach gave me a mock salute and then walked away. I turned back to the earrings and held them up in the mirror, studying my appearance but also watching Zach move through the crowd. This should be good.

.

Zach POV

I shook my head as I walked away from Cammie. We had a mission and she was looking for earrings? Damn, I guess Joe was wrong about how great the Chameleon was, from what I just witnessed, Cam can't tail anybody at all.

I scanned the crowd to find the guy in the navy jacket at a fruit stall. He was examining the apples, holding one up in the light when he froze. His eyes widened. He placed the apple back down, stepped away from the stall and glanced ever so slightly in my direction. I tried to act inconspicuous but the guy began to run through the crowd away from me.

I cursed in Farsi and began to run after him.

He was very quick on his feet.

He was able to dart in between the crowds, pushing some people into my path on purpose to slow me down.

I got stuck getting through a group of girls and emerged the other side to not find him.

'Shit' I quickly looked around and saw a fleeting glance of navy disappearing down an alleyway.

I hurried down the same way to see him catching his breath. I took this as the perfect opportunity to sneak up behind him and throw him against the wall.

The guy immediately fought back. Punching me square across the jaw. I grabbed him by the collar, shoved him back against the wall and punched him once in the face, causing his nose to bleed. I readied myself to punch him again, but someone caught my fist.

'What the hell are you doing?' Cam snapped, pushing me out of the way.

'He hit me. What do you expect me to do?'

'It was a weak punch' The guy chuckled, spitting out blood. I moved to grab him again but Cam stood in between us, her hand on my chest.

'Enough' She hissed. She then turned to our target, glaring. The guy chuckled and spread his arms wide. Cam didn't move.

'Oh come on. I thought you'd be pleased to see me. Where's my hug?'

Cam rolled her eyes and softened her scowl. She didn't move but handed the guy a tissue instead.

'Zach, meet Nick. Nick, meet Zach' Cam said.

'Pleasure' Nick said, wiping away the blood.

'Who is this guy?' I asked Cammie

'Wow. He really doesn't play around. Where did you find this once Cammie? CIA? FBI?'

'Not quite, but he wishes' Cammie smirked, giving me a sidewards glance.

'So what can I do for you both?' Nick asked.

'We need access to Interpol's database' I said bluntly

'Okay…' Nick looked sceptical, turning to Cam 'So that means…'

'I need Amelia's login details' Cam said softly. Nick laughed, waiting for us to join in but Cam didn't. Nick's smile faded.

'My mum's? Cam, please say you're joking'

Cam remained quiet. Nick groaned and lent his head back against the brick wall.

'You owe me for saving your life' Cam said softly. Nick looked at Cammie for a long moment and then looked at me, then back at Cam.

'You've got to stop using that line when you need favours'

'Noted. So is that a yes?' Cam flashed a smile. Nick sighed, eventually giving us a single nod.

Cam POV

It began to rain as we were in the cab going to Nick's house.

'You said that Cam saved your life' Zach asked, speaking for the first time in ages. I stiffened slightly.

'Yeah, we were 10' Nick said.

'Oh?' There was interest in Zach's voice 'What happened?'

'Well there was this guy and he-'

'Pushed Nick on the ice. Nick bumped his head, knocked him out cold. I administered first aid' I said quickly, shooting Nick a look. He furrowed his brows at me, wondering what I was talking about. I could feel Zach looking at me but decided to ignore it, I looked out of the window, watching the raindrops peppering the window.

We were silent for the rest of the journey. We eventually pulled up to a townhouse in Kensington. The white brick houses and black glossy doors all lined the street, completely identical.

Whilst Zach paid the cab driver, I followed Nick up to the front door.

'So…' Nick whispered as he found his keys.

'Don't you dare' I hissed. Nick raised an eyebrow as he unlocked the door but didn't say anything.

I followed him into the house, immediately engulfed by the scent of freshly baked bread.

'Nice place' Zach admired

'Thanks' Nick shrugged off his coat and headed towards the kitchen.

'Nick, who else is here?' I asked as I followed him, freshly baked bread doesn't just appear out of nowhere.

'Oh..um…'

'Master Smith' A elderly man dressed in a suit was standing practically to attention in the kitchen. 'Master Hale and Miss Bishop will be back later. They had an urgent errand to run'

'Thank you Marcus' Nick reached for a piece of bread.

'Nick…' I warned him.

'Oh, right. Where are my manners? Marcus, this is my friend Cammie and her friend Zach. Cammie and Zach, this is Marcus, he's…' Nick couldn't quite find the words.

'I know who he is' I hissed

'Am I missing something?' Zach looked between us.

'Nick and his friends have a...particular set of skills' I muttered through gritted teeth.

'Come on Cammie, you can say it' Nick teased. I gave him a look that would kill if Liz had perfected the laser eye contacts right now. Nick turned to Zach.

'I'm a thief,' Nick said proudly. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. 'Cammie disapproves' Nick informed Zach.

'I don't disapprove. I just think you could do something better'

'Like what? Kill people?' As soon as the words left Nick's mouth, he instantly regretted it, I could see it etched across his face.

'Cam, I-'

'Where's Amelia's computer?' I asked, turning away from him.

'Right…' Nick walked off. Marcus walked off quietly, sensing that he was not needed.

'What?' I groaned, knowing that Zach was staring at me.

'I know about what happened when you were ten' He said. I stepped back in surprise.

'How did...?'

'Bex told me. Well, technically, I tricked her into telling me. I don't know all the details but I know that it was the first time you killed someone'

'I don't want to talk about this' I moved around the kitchen. Zach stayed where he was, watching me closely.

'You have a lot of secrets, don't you?' He asked

'Don't we all?'

'Yes. But yours seem to be eating you up' He observed 'You don't talk about what happened back then, or when you went missing and it's not good'

'Don't try and lecture me when you don't know me' I snapped. I turned away from Zach, only for him to twist me around, his hands gripping my forearms, holding my body flush against him.

'Oh, I do know you Cam. In this short amount of time, I know everything I need too. I know that you're fiercely loyal. I know that you're actually pretty fast. I know that your friends trust you and will follow you wherever' His eyes were locked on mine. He didn't even have to be holding me to trap me, his gaze was doing just that. 'I know that when you're deep in thought, you play with your necklace. I know that a crease forms in the middle of your forehead when you're planning something. I know that you think you don't deserve to be happy so whenever you smile, you quickly wipe it away. I know that you are hiding something and…' His gaze flickered down to my lips quickly then back to my eyes '...I'm going to find out what'

Author's note: So Cammie & Zach had a little disagreement and Zach is going to find out what she's hiding...Also Nick & Marcus from the Heist Society series are here! My first official crossover! I know that I've used Nick as a character before in my stories as a person who went to Blackthorne, but he's originally from the Heist Society series. Kat & her crew will not feature in this story. Meeting Nick is just a plausible situation considering that his mum works at Interpol and could quite possibly know Rachel & the others. Hope you guys liked this chapter! See you all soon xxx

BugheadHastings: Thank you so much! As much as I love them being badass, there's moments where they're normal & actually notice each other, like Zach above noticing all these characteristics of Cammie (which he probably didn't realise he noticed). It's cute! What do you think about Nick & Marcus making a cameo? xxx

Archer5210: Aw thanks! No, this isn't a continuation, it's kind of an alternative universe. So Cammie had her education at Gallagher with her mum, dad, Joe & Abby around, she graduated and did some spy stuff then suddenly her family went missing & Cam dropped everything to try and find them. Then things started to happen, like Boston & Cam disappearing for a while. All leading up to now. Hope that makes sense. Things in the book are going to be retold in a different order/different situations. If this doesn't make sense, let me know haha! xxx

AllyCarterFan101: Zach really does know how to dig for information, he's got a lot of info on Cam & seems to know her personality really well. I think Joe could be in for the shock of his life. xxx

Guest: The heatwave has been awful! It's lovely for a while but I've been glad for the rain. Slowly and surely Cammie's walls are coming down. xxx

Guest: Thank you xxx

Gymnast1150: Cammie has indeed killed and she will again...Zach's very intuned to Cammie, he just has a gut instinct and knows when something isn't right. And the fact that he just told her a bunch of things that he knows about her is dead cute. Cammie's a tough cookie to crack, but if anyone can do it, it'll be Zach. We'll find out about Cammie's past & what happened when she disappeared soon. (I keep saying soon because I have it all planned out but it's actually a while until you all will find out lol). There is a very special reason why Zach & Cammie haven't been introduced before (and no, they aren't related. This isn't Riverdale. Lol.) Have fun at work! Hope you liked this chapter! xxx

Roxie: Zammie is on the way! Sooner than you think... xxx
