Just to clarify, these Elena of Avalor song fics are all one shots just like all the other song fic chapters. This next one is based from Elena of Avalor's Christmas special.
Song: Let Love Light the Way from Elena of Avalor
Prompt: After a fight between traditions causes calamity, Snoggletog seems to be ruined. But Hiccup has a plan to fix that. (Based on Elena of Avalor's season 1 Christmas special).
"All Zephyr wanted was to spend Snoggletog with her friend", Hiccup lamented as she and Aric roamed the streets of New Berk. Zephyr and Sol, Dagur and Mala's youngest, had been so excited to spend the holiday together; they were best friends. Nuffink had even been excited to see Dag and Tad, their two sons. But now, they wouldn't.
"It's not your fault things didn't work out", Aric told her.
"But now Zephyr and Nuffink are heartbroken. And Heather… she'd wanted to spend it here with us." Heather was the main reason Hiccup thought to invite Dagur and Mala to celebrate Snoggletog with them in the first place. She'd wanted to spend it here with Astrid, but didn't want to leave her brother behind. It was a conflict Hiccup had attempted to fix, but now Heather was forced to face that very same conflict now.
"The kids will be able to see each other another time. And Heather will be fine. Its only one year", Aric tried to console, placing a hand to Hiccup's shoulder and stopping their stroll.
"But it could have worked. Everyone just got so caught up in their own traditions, and decorations, and gifts, they forgot the one thing that our children knew right from the start. The holidays aren't about what you do; they're about who you spend them with", Hiccup took Aric's hand. Then Hiccup's eyes lit with an idea. "And I know exactly how to remind them of that."
"And what's that?"
Seeing a man outside his home playing his panpipes, Hiccup zipped over. "Can I borrow that for a moment?"
"Sure", he replied, and Hiccup took it before tossing it to Aric.
"Music", she answered.
"Caroling?" Aric questioned, the panpipes in his hands. "How's that going to help?"
"Because it's one thing I know brings people together. Even when I was Hiccup the Useless, we were able to set all that aside when the town came together to sing. Now play."
"I think you'd be better with me doing that, lass", Gobber said with a chuckle as he walked up out of nowhere. Taking the pipes from Aric's hands, he started playing.

"Thank you, Gobber", she thanked, then turned back to Aric. "Just trust me, hon, this is going to work", Hiccup said.
"I always do", Aric responded lightly.
Hiccup replied with a smile. "It's holiday time, the most special of seasons…" she began to sing. The people lingering outside turned their attentions on her, people in their homes opening their doors and windows to see who was singing outside. "It's not all the gifts, the food, or decorations…" she continued towards her people. A small crowd began to form around her, more joining as it grew. "So come walk with me", Hiccup stepped towards a path, swinging her arm for them to follow. As they passed two girls sitting with their arms crossed and backs to the other, the two seemed to forget it all in favor of joining the song. Hiccup smiled wider at that.
" "You need nothing more…" ", Aric sung with her now. They looked to each other adoringly as they sang the lines, leading their people through town as they picked up more and more. " "...Let love, light the way." "
"I can't believe it's working", Aric said in astonishment, looking at all the people behind them.
"It hasn't worked yet", Hiccup reminded him. "We all have our ways", Hiccup sang, and her people repeated it, singing along. They continued through the village, Hiccup intent on finding her friends, when she saw Heather and Astrid sitting under her father's statue. Astrid was sitting beside Heather, looking to be trying to comfort her. "What makes this one night…" Hiccup moved towards them, taking Heather's hands into hers, lifting her up. Her people joined, and a smile started to appear on Heather's face. " " "…with our sisters and our brothers!" " "
Heather taking Astrid's hand, Hiccup pulled the two into the group, their march through the village continuing. " " "On this holiday, let love light the way…" " " They caught Mala walking nearby with her and Dagur's kids, a fight having broken out between the two earlier. Hiccup simply swung her arm in the gesture of 'join us', and seeming intrigued, she took her family closer. Hiccup simply smiled brightly to her, welcoming her back.

"I've never done this before", Mala told Astrid and Heather as they walked side by side within the parade. "What do I do?"
"Oh, so now you want to learn a new tradition", Astrid said, though there was no malice in her words.
"I'm sorry about before. I should have been more respectful", Mala apologized.
"We all should have been", Heather said.

" " "Every December…" " " They arrived at a cliff that led to the docks below. Dagur stood there with his sulking form, arms crossed. His head turned to them, and once again Hiccup stepped forward.
"So let love be our mission", she extended a hand, needing him to take it. Dagur looked passed her again, and his eyes landed on Mala and the three kids before her.

Zephyr and Nuffink sat on their front porch with their Grandma Valka, nothing but sadness in their forms as she tried to comfort them.
"Your friends may not be here, but you still have us", Valka said. It made them smile a little, but they still missed their friends.
" " "The night outshines all the others" " ", they then heard. It was a distant sound.
"What's that?" Zephyr stood to get a better look at what seemed to be a crowd in the distance. Nuffink stood too, eyes wide, until the crowd got closer.
" " "So come walk with me…" " " they saw it to be their mom, and dad, and Gobber, and Astrid, and Heather, and everyone. Then their mom and dad split to reveal Mala and Dagur behind them, who split to reveal Dag, Tad, and Sol!
"Sol!" Zephyr ran for her, running into her with the biggest hug. "Dag! Tad!" Nuffink ran as well, circling the two older boys in his excitement.
Their moms and dads joyfully laughed and giggled with their reunion. How her mom managed this, Zephyr would never know. She turned back to her with a smile on her face.

" "You need nothing more…" " they stepped towards each other, followed by a tight hug from Hiccup, Zephyr nearly scooped up. She stood up then, holding Zephyr to her side. " "Let love…" "
" "Let love" ", Aric took her hand, Nuffink held in his other arm.
" "Let love" ", Astrid and Heather sung.
" "Let love" ", Dagur and Mala joined.
" " "Let love, light the way!" " "
"Happy Snoggletog!" Hiccup shouted out. "To everyone."
