Zach POV

I must have drifted off to sleep as the next thing I knew, the sky was completely black and the lights in the plane had dimmed. Macey was nowhere to be seen, probably in a collapsable bed I don't know about or upfront with Bex and Townsend.

Grant had changed positions but was still snoring. I swear that guy could sleep through the apocalypse if it ever happened.

Liz and Jonas were both asleep. Their laptops, for once, packed away. I looked back towards the back of the aeroplane and there was Cammie, still awake.

I yawned and stretched, standing up and making my way to her.

Cammie had one arm hugging her knees close to her and was playing with her necklace with the other.

'You should get some sleep' I said. Cammie jumped slightly and looked up at me. She flashed me a small smile.

'I'm okay' She replied.

'Really? Cause the bags under your eyes tell a different story'

'Wow, such a charmer' she chuckled

'At least eat something'

'I'm fine, Zach. Honestly. I'll rest when Abby's safe' She turned her attention back to her aunt, her fingers gripping her necklace tighter.

'Tell me about her' I took a seat opposite Cammie.

'Abby?' She asked. I nodded.

'Abby's my mom's sister. She's very much the cool aunt. She spent five years travelling all across the world, Monaco was her favourite. And Paris. She used to send me letters about how every morning she'd sit at a particular cafe with a fresh pastry and cup of coffee. She's just sitting there and watching the world go by. She said that she'd never felt peace quite like it. She also bought me my first bike, took me base jumping, let me stay up late when my parents were on missions, taught me how to scale a building with just a bedsheet and a hairpin' Cammie chuckled at the memory ' She never judged any of my decisions...and she took a bullet for me'

'She sounds like a great person'

'She is' Cammie turned back to her aunt. She took a deep breath.

'She'll wake up. I know it'

'You do?'

'If she's anything like you, she'll fight' I gave her a friendly smile which she returned.

'Thank you, Zach'

'Don't mention it' I waved it away 'But seriously don't. If the guys find out that I'm being nice, my reputation will be ruined'

Cammie chuckled, a genuine smile on her face. All of a sudden I found myself smiling too. Cammie was visibly more relaxed now, her posture had changed & despite not sleeping a wink for at least twenty-four hours, her eyes were alive. She turned to me.

'He has a scar'

'What?' I asked

'Grant' She began 'He has a scar on his knee. It's a common sporting injury which didn't narrow it down but he also has an acute form of cauliflower ears, which is seen in rugby players and wrestlers, and since Grant isn't English, the only feasible answer was-'

'-wrestler' I finished 'Impressive' Cammie shrugged.

'His anger issues were just from observation but it was a button to push, so I did. I'm sorry'

'Don't. Grant has a chip on his shoulder. He needs to be knocked down every now and then'

'Does that apply to you too?' She teased. I smirked.

'I'll let you knock me down any day'

Cammie chuckled again and stifled a yawn.

'You should get some rest' I said, preparing myself for her to fight back.

'Zach…'

'If it makes you feel better, I'll stay up and watch out for her'

'I don't know-'

'I'll wake you the moment her heart rate changes even by one. Trust me'

Cammie looked at me carefully for a moment. She nodded and then curled up on the sofa, pulling a blanket on top of her.

Within minutes she was fast asleep and I was all alone.

Cammie POV

'Cammie' Someone whispered. 'Cammie, wake up'

I opened my eyes to see Zach smirking at me.

'Rise and shine Princess. We've landed'

'What?' I shot up and looked outside. Yes indeed we had landed. By my calculations I would have been asleep for about three hours.

'How's Abby, is she okay?' I asked looking around

'Brilliant. Slept the entire time' He smiled. I glared. 'I'm kidding. She's fine. How are you feeling?'

'Stiff' I stretched, feeling my muscles burn.'Yourself?'

'Buzzed' Zach smirked.

'For what?' I asked which caused Zach smirk to widen

'Right now I'm one step closer to working out who you really are'

'Trust me' I stood up (which was a bad idea), in this tight space, I was practically nose to nose with Zach 'You'll never work out who I really am'

'Is that a challenge?' He arched an eyebrow

'Nope. It's a fact' I stated

'Miss Morgan' I turned to see Townsend standing a few feet away. 'It's time'

.

I rested my head against the headrest as we drove through the open land. It felt good to be home. The girls and I shared knowing glances and little smiles. The place we were trained at was home. It taught us, nurtured us, built us and broke us. And no matter where we ran off to or how many times we had to start over in a new life. This place was always home. I sat up sharply as the open fields make way for brick buildings as we neared into town.

There were normal people going about their normal days, minding their own business, interacting with one another, sharing pleasantries. There was a small crowd of people congregated around the entrance to the cinema, readying themselves for the next viewing or discussing what they'd just watched. I held my breath as the gazebo came into view. Particularly the two people sitting on it.

'Is something wrong?' Zach asked, noticing the change in me. I flashed him a quick smile.

'Everything's fine' I turned back towards the window as the scenery disappeared.

The town square slowly made way to winding roads and brick walls.

'So what's on the other side?' Grant asked

'Home' I muttered.

We pulled up to the gate entrance. Beyond the gates, you could see a driveway that waived across the grounds and disappearing over the brow of the hill.

Bex hopped out & fiddled with the gate (there's a thumb print, retinal scan, a breath test & several other levels of security that I can't share with you).

'So this is where you've been hiding?' Zach asked. I didn't answer. I kept my focus out of the window as the gates began to slide open. My heart was racing.

As we drove up, I could feel my nerves subsiding. We were getting closer to safety.

Then, as the van peeped over the hill, my heart soared.

I'm home.

'This is it?' Grant groaned as he stepped out of the car 'A burnt down building. Is this a joke?'

'It didn't always look like this' Liz sprang into defense. 'It was once very grand'

'Until Cammie burnt it down' Macey added. All the boys turned to me. I held my hands up.

'Guilty' I said

'You burnt down this building?' Zach asked, slight amusement in his voice.

'It wasn't entirely my fault! Think of it as an occupational hazard'

Zach chuckled and shook his head.

'Did anyone die?' Jonas asked. The girls froze for a millisecond. Something the guys would have picked up on.

'Did anyone die?' Zach asked me.

'No' I said bluntly. The look in Zach's eyes shifted slightly, not quite sure if he believed me.

'Hey, what's this?' Grant was kicking a pile of rubble close to a set of steps. He pushed some rocks to the side to reveal a dust covered sign.

'The Guggenheim Academy' Grant said, dusting it off

'It doesn't say that' Jonas adjusted his glasses as he looked over Grant's shoulder 'It says The Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women'

'Wait' Zach spun around to face me, a look of pure shock and surprise on his face 'So you're…'

'Yep' I popped the p. 'I'm a Gallagher Girl'

Author's note: So now the 'I'm a Gallagher Girl' card is out of the bag, what do you think will happen next? I can tell you, we're going to see the real Gallagher and a few familiar faces. xxx

Tessa Jane: Thank you so much! Zach and Cammie are definitely starting to get cozy. I love Cream of the Crooks too, I just wish I was inspired right now xxx

Archer5210: Zach is hiding a lot. Hopefully, Cammie can find out soon. There's nothing wrong with OOC characters! Write the Zach you see! Thank you so much for all of your support! xxx

Tkd girl: Thank you xxx

Smiles180: Zach and Cammie will have a talk about what is going on between them very seen, but one of them will be defensive...which one? There is a little issue of trust between Cammie and Zach, but once the secrets are all revealed, they'll be able to move on from it. xxx

gymnast1150: Don't worry at all! Cam is definitely doing something to Zach's head...and it seems that he's doing the same to her. Cam is trying to cover all of her bases, and she'll have an escape plan ready. I love Macey as a character, I think in the first book she was more blunt and to the point, (which I think was still Macey maintaining her cover). I loved it. I also think it's a great tactic, if Macey's blunt then it doesn't give anyone time to lie, they just spat out the first thing on their mind. More serious and more romantic stuff coming very soon! Ahhh! Cammie's past is a true mystery that will shock EVERYONE when it's revealed (even all of you I hope). Thank you so much xxx

Guest: Zach and Macey's relationship is a fun one! I love that they have just a hate-hate relationship. It's fresh. There's a lot of references from the books throughout all of these chapters, some more obvious. others are subtle. xxx

covertoperative: Thank you so much! I think Zach is caught in between his loyalty to Grant & his curiosity towards Cammie. There's something about her that he hasn't quite figured out and he wants to protect her/find out her secrets first. Catherine plays a very interesting part in this story...mwhahaha. Hope you didn't get in trouble for reading this in science! They boys are in for a SHOCK when they step inside Gallagher xxx

Duchess12: Cam took no prisoners when going into Grant. There won't be a Macey & Nick in this one, Nick is a very different character to how I've written him before, he's more true to Heist Society Series. I love the order you've created for this story, world peace is a farrrrrrrrrr stretch but hopefully Cammie can get it at some point. Thank you for your lovely reviews, I've read all of them and they put a smile on my face! Thank you again xxx
