I don't own The White Queen.

Chapter 1

February 1470

It is the day when King Edward significantly insisted and persisted that their Scottish Princess must come to England and meet his most loyal brother, Richard of York.

They heard that George of York had married against the King's wishes, now Warwick had fled to France and taken his whole household to meet the infamous She-wolf, Margaret of Anjou.

King James III knew that this was an opportunity to greet the English court. After all, his spies told him that his people were waiting to rebel and dethroned him.

He must act now.

That is why he sent his son and heir James to convince his sister, for everyone knew that they were closer than he and his brother.

His brother, Duke of Albany, will symbolize a powerful union. He knows that his daughter was always fond of her uncle.

'For now, we will wait and watch as her marriage will help our bloodline rule Scotland.' He thought as he went outside, and the entire court wished to say goodbye to their Princess.

He stood by his wife, Margaret of Denmark, Queen of Scotland. They married for political gain and were not happy ones.

His daughter came forward and looked quite fashionable like her mother. No doubt his wife had suggested the choice of clothing.

Margaret came forward and said, "Do your duty and remember, you are Scotland. I hope you will have a better life in England than here."

Oighrig nodded and kissed her mother's cheeks, and gracefully walked to greet her brothers.

"James." Princess Oighrig greeted James then John. "John."

Notes: I decided to change up her brother's ages so that Princess Oighrig is the eldest daughter, and her brothers were around preteen to the younger generation.

"Take care of your health and watch what you eat." She said to them as she hugged and kissed them both.

Her father came next as his daughter greeted him.

"You represent Scotland, and you are true royalty compared to the English York monarchs."

He kissed her forehead.

She followed her horse as they traveled through the party.

They traveled a long journey across the borders.

At England court…

King Edward is preparing the whole thing.

"Remember, we can't be patchy about anything with enough gold. We must show the Scots the wealth of England and House of York."

King Edward walked fast to get everything going. Roses are being handed around the walls, and York's white rose banner hangs proudly.

He has to make it perfect. For the sake of the alliance, he needs to make sure his other brother Richard has remained loyal since George has proven unfaithful to him.

Queen Elizabeth was in her chambers along with her ladies and daughters. She is supposed to be happy, but inside she is not.

Her mother Jacquetta told her of the King'sKing's plans of bringing marriage between two hostile kingdoms.

Since her daughter, Cecily, was mentioned for young prince James hand in marriage, but changed his mind and asked for Richard to wed the eldest Princess Oighrig.

"Elizabeth," Her mother called her.

"Mother, I am not sure about this." She worries since Scotland and England were at war with them for centuries. "Edward wished to have blood bond with King James."

"As he should remember, they wanted a line to make their legacy strong. I am sorry that they did not consider Cecily as the bride. Richard is a duke and needs a good standing of a bride. With this alliance, the Princess will secure Edward's crown from Warwick and George." Jacquetta told her daughter.

"Or may benefit the Scots to take it right under our noses." Elizabeth is a bit more cautious, especially with powerful men are using their women to have some connections to the throne. "They do not wish for my daughter because they don't consider her a real princess, and they believe my marriage is not a true one."

She wonders will be the same for her future son choice of bride is small like Cecily or her future children.

"Now, now, my dear." Jacquetta soothed her daughter. "Think of it this way. We will have allies who will meet them at the borders and the sea. I had heard that this Princess is more interested in hunting and playing cards. And her misadventures of sneaking away in her castle to go mingle with commoners of her Scotsmen."

Queen Elizabeth looked a bit sullen and said, "In other words, her people loved her, and so will England."

"How could you say such a thing? You are the queen, and the people do love you." Her lady mother reassures her daughter. "Come now, and it's time to greet the Princess."

Elizabeth corrected her mother, "Not a princess anymore, and she is her grace now. The Duchess of Gloucester."

King Edward is seated on his throne along with Queen Elizabeth. They sat in the throne room and many courtiers to see the Princess of Scotland.

Everyone seemed eager to meet the Scottish Princess. Another reason that Queen Elizabeth worried about the coming of the Princess.

Trumpets sounded out.

A handsome Scottish lord is leading the Princess towards them.

"Your majesties, I am Alexander Stewart, Duke of Albany." He bowed to them and gestured his niece to come forward as she took his hand. "I present to you, Oighrig princess of Scotland."

She came with grace and iron in her blood.

"Welcome!" King Edward beamed in happiness. "I trust that you had a long and receivable journey to England."

Princess Oighrig answered, "I admit that I wasn't expecting to come here, but I will be of good service to my new home."

Everyone whispers, and her uncle secretly smiles as she makes an excellent impression on the English pigs. Her uncle thought, 'If God truly wished, my niece would be queen.'

"Brother," The York king called to his brother.

The black hair light blue eyes of a pale man step forward.

"This is your betrothed, my brother, Richard of York, Duke of Gloucester."

Richard stepped forward and took her other hand. Princess Oighrig kept her face calm and tried not to be nervous.

"My pleasure, your grace." He kissed her hand.

"The pleasure is all mine, my Lord Duke."

The feast began, and all those danced around in cheer. The Duke of Albany had the honor to sit next to the King.

"It seems that my niece had never expected…." The Scottish lord watches as his niece dances with Richard along with others.

"An English prince." King Edward cut in. His words sounded like he anticipated a fight between them.

Duke of Albany assured him, "A gentlemen and fine solider isn't? The finest one that I expected from your noble house of York." He waved in a kind gesture towards the York king.

His skills to switch words to counter to calm the situations. It works for Edward, who looked pleased about his most loyal brother.

King Edward beamed and said, "Yes. Richard may be the youngest, but he never fails to fight my honor and crown for me. I can always count on him to defend my throne." Richard led his fiancée through the routine continued the dance motions.

"My brother and I had our differences, but for the sake of her. We postponed our faults and fights, for she often reminds us that blood is thicker than water." Duke of Albany looked fondly at his niece.

King Edward watches his brother and his bride-to-be. "Sadly, it seems people tended to forget about blood bond families."

"I find it barbaric to abuse the trust between brothers that was caused by the Kingmaker, Warwick." The Duke leaned in for the kill. "We had heard rumors about his ships aiming for Europe."

King Edward looked back at Lord Alexander Stewart. "Then let us talk somewhere else."

The Duke bowed in agreement to allow the KingKing to stand up from his seat first.

The Princess is glad that she had a year of practice for the English court and their dances. She despises their court dances and prefers the common folk and Scottish ones.

Richard looked at his beautiful bride and noticed that she didn't seem happy despite hiding it well for people not to see.

"You don't' like me?" He whispers as he leads her around the circle with others.

"No, it's not you." She hops along with others to new partners then back to their previous partners. "Truly, my lord. I just not fond of dances."

Richard held a secret relief. It's not him she doesn't like, and it was the dance.

"Why?"

"I feel not doing it right and often hate myself if I misstep other mistakes." Richard gave her a gentle smile, "What do you like more, princess?"

Princess Oighrig felt calmer than before. "I prefer hunting and card games, and I despise the silly notions of sewing and sitting still all day."

The highchair made a loud noise. Both Richard and Oighrig looked at the KingKing standing up from his chair. What could have happened between the King and her uncle?

The music stops, and everyone watches the King.

King Edward looked severe but smiled charmingly at the court, "All is well. I just had gone a chat with his Duke of Albany. Continue the feast that is my command."

Queen Elizabeth wished to follow, but Edward said, "Not you, my queen. Entertain our guests."

King Edward took two of his guards, and Lord Stewart owned two Scottish guards to follow the King.

Queen Elizabeth stood there and said, "The King is perfectly well. Continue, please."

The feast continues as if nothing has happened. However, everyone in mind believed that Queen Elizabeth did something to the King and the Duke to leave?

The Duke of Albany and King of England talked about dowry and settlement for days.

Richard of York and Duke of Gloucester had taken his fiancée to go hunting. They took the men and dogs to go hunting.

SWISH!

The Princess let loose her arrow and shot a stag in the neck. The Stag groaned and screamed in pain as Richard helped the Oighrig shoot another pointer to its leg.

Richard orders his grooms to lose their hunting dogs. Scottish Deerhound was what the Princess brought with her. Finest breeds that Richard had ever seen.

The Stag is taken down as the dogs bark and growl at the wounded creature. Richard was about to order his men to put the animal out of its misery, but his bride clicked her tongue, and her horse moved forward towards the stage.

Oighrig jumped out of her horse and went towards the stage. She took out of her dagger and slit the animal's throat, killing the beast.

"Blessed be O'Lord." She said to the Stag.

Richard looked amazed at her. She honestly had more stomach and iron in her.

"My lady," Richard rode his horse towards her and the Stag. "I believe we had a fine stag to feast on."

After finally days of planning and negotiations for the alliance, King Edward and Duke of Albany took his brother King James to sign the documents and the wedding.

It was a grand wedding, and all of England with the newly duchess Scottish party gave an excellent cheer for her.

Richard bowed as his wife curtsy before the crowd.

Queen Elizabeth looked at the crowd and saw how much love the Scottish Princess had; they barely knew the new Duchess. King Edward looked pleased with the event. Indeed, this will meet the end of his uncle and brother's crazy ambitions.

"Edward," Elizabeth leaned into her husband. "Is this truly wise?"

"My dear, I couldn't ask for a better alliance than my brother Richard to wed his bride."

That is what worries her as the people loved the Scottish Princess.

"This way, I can count on Richard more to take care of the North and make friendships with everyone there."

"But what if…."

"Please, Elizabeth. Not today and today is about my brother and my new sister." King Edward walked to greet the newly wedded couple.

Queen Elizabeth looked around and had no choice but to greet her brother-in-law and his new wife.

"Congratulations, brother and your grace, Duchess of Gloucester." Her mother is right, she must make friends with powerful allies, and she had no fear at Richard for he is loyal and obeys her KingKing at every whim.

"I thank you, my queen." The Duchess charmingly smiled at her. Inside Princess's mind, she must bid her time and continue to wait for God's sign of her bloodline to rule England.

She will be great, and Robert the Bruce will carry on in York's blood.

Reviews are welcome.

Next Chapter, war is here. Queen Elizabeth and Duchess of Gloucester seek sanctuary, both carrying a child in their womb. Unlikely friends between two women.
