It's the morning after Jason's gamble with his life. He wakes up, still on the floor next to the fragment of meteor that almost killed him. He's still tired. Nonetheless he gets up to go to breakfast. He's hoping he'll see Luna and ask her what was so important that she missed their dinner in Hogsmeade. He goes to the bathroom and feels the dried up tears on his face as he yawns.

Jason washed his face and brushed his teeth before getting ready to leave. He was halfway out the door when he felt like he forgot something. He looked at the ground, the green crystal still there. He picks it up. It truly is very pretty. Jason puts it on a shelf and heads off.

He arrives to the Great Hall just in time that there's still enough food for him to scrap together a nice breakfast. He grabs some eggs and sausage links, a cranberry biscuit, and some apple slices. All Jason's missing now is a nice cup of pumpkin juice. Jason looks around and spots a couple of cups on the end of Slytherin table. He makes his way over, but his route is blocked by Hagrid and Professor Flitwick, who are walking slowly while having a hearty conversation.

"Uh... excuse me Professor, can I just—" Jason says before Hagrid turns around abruptly. Jason was a little too close to Professor Hagrid that his arm swinging as he turned around towards him accidently launches Jason three feet in the air. He braces for impact before seemingly catching himself within an inch of hitting the ground. When he realizes he's stopped falling and is now floating just a bit above the floor he reaches his hands to the ground to succumb to gravity.

"My, my! Mr. Bias I do have to say that is impressive," Flitwick said, enthralled. "Wandless magic like that is quite the feat. Even on accident!" Jason got up and couldn't care less. He just watched as Miles Bletchley took both cups of the remaining pumpkin juice. He sighed. He looked up and noticed a bald eagle perched on a nearby tower through the Great Hall window. The sky was clear and bright.

"Thanks professor…" Jason replied.

"Though I shouldn't be surprised," Flitwick continued, "it is a skill that is usually attributed to the natives of North America!" Jason looked a little surprised. He was going to reply and say he was Mexican, not Native American…but then he realized how dumb that would sound. Still it sounded a little offensive but he let it slide. He just gave a fairly unconvincing fake laugh and walked around looking to see if the other tables had any more pumpkin juice. Maybe he'd force Luna to give him hers if he spots her as an apology.

After a while he decides to give up and just sit down and enjoy his breakfast. He's about to bite into his cranberry biscuit when he sees it. It's a cup of pumpkin juice at the Gryffindor table, just across from Jason.

"Wingardium Leviosa," he whispers, making the cup float towards him. He can practically taste it when it's grabbed out of the air by a girl with curly brown hair and a ribbon. She turns around but Jason already knew who it was. Lavender Brown. She makes eye contact with him and walks towards him, looking upset. He just starts eating his breakfast.

"Did you really just try to steal Ron's pumpkin juice?" she asked haughtily. Jason didn't know it was Ron's but he thought it was funny that it turned out to be for him so he giggled while biting into a sausage link. She seems offended by this and goes on a tangent about how Jason should be ashamed at his disgraceful acts. Jason was almost half finished with his breakfast by the time she ran out of things to say.

"—but I guess it's to be expected from someone like you," Lavender finishes before walking back to her table, where Ron was nowhere to be found. She seemed very protective of his cup for someone that did not care to be on time for their breakfast date.

Jason grabbed a glass of apple juice instead, but not before discreetly pointing his wand at the pumpkin juice and making the bottom of Ron's cup disappear. He gulps down the apple juice and leaves as the pumpkin juice spills onto Lavender Brown's lap.

"Nooo!" she shrieks. Lavender turns to see Jason scurrying out of the Great Hall while Ron walks in. She desperately looks through her bag for a little vial with a heart stamp, but it's empty. "Shoot," she whispers to herself.

As Jason made his escape he also decides to look for Luna again. It's still very early so he checks her usual morning haunts. He made his way to the Womping Willow, where she liked to prune some of the branches to make a tea with. "I have the Willow's permission of course!" she always assured him.

He looked for her behind the Quidditch field stands, where she rehearsed her commentator duties. "No one can hear me back there except the jellyflies. They let me know if I say something uncouth," she always told him. There's going to be an exhibition match in the afternoon between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw's First-Years but he wasn't sure if Luna was going to commentate. He figured she's not since there is no sign of her and she was very serious about her rehearsal time.

Jason went back around to the actual field. It was way too early for anyone to still be there. The undisturbed snow and British hills were on full display from here. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, taking in the calm while his Slytherin scarf lightly flowed in the wind.

"I do that too," Jason heard a familiar voice above him. It was Harry, riding down from the sky on his Firebolt with a smile on his face. Jason smiled back.

"Are you serious?" Jason teased, "I always figured you just used Quidditch to unwind."

"Yeah, that too," Harry replied. "I'm just taking a few laps before we let the First-Years have their way with the field. Happy to see you here though." Jason's heart fluttered.

"I was just looking for Luna actually," Jason said, "She kind of ditched me yesterday," he admitted, remembering the not so great feeling he had when he read she wouldn't see him yesterday on their calendar.

"Oh, might've been my fault really," said Harry as he finally flew to ground level and jumped off his broomstick. "She went to buy a dress in Hogsmeade with Ginny after I asked her to Slughorn's Christmas Dinner last minute."

Jason was stunned.

"You're taking Luna…" Jason asked flatly. Harry sensed there was something wrong.

"Yeah…" Harry felt like he had to walk on eggshells, "she said no one had asked her…"

All Jason felt was a wave of negative emotions. His mind racing on how this was possibly the outcome of his day. He immediately turned around and started walking away. Harry didn't know what to do. Jason was a fast walker.

"Jason, I didn't…" he immediately started. Jason seemed to ignore him and kept going. Harry jumped on his Firebolt, catching up to and blocking Jason's way.

"Move Harry," Jason said. He started rubbing his left temple, as if suffering from a migraine. He wouldn't even look at Harry.

"I didn't know you wanted to ask her." Harry explained, "I didn't know you had feelings for her—"

"I DON'T have feelings for Luna, she's my best friend!" Jason cut him off. "Was my best friend…" Jason's headache has started again. "I didn't ask her, but I didn't think I HAD too!" Harry just stayed silent. Jason walks around him.

"C'mon Jason, don't be like that." Harry shouted after him. "We can all go together!"

Jason just kept walking. He almost wondered if this was a cruel joke. He buried his face in his scarf, hiding most of his face. He wasn't crying this time, he was scowling. Harry didn't chase him again.

Jason had been lying in his bed for hours now. Awake. Silent. Staring at the enchanted glass on his ceiling, showing his reflection. He hadn't shed a single tear. He made sure of it. He's never been so still.

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

He felt embarrassed.

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

He felt patronized.

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

Thump! ...

He felt betrayed.

It wasn't fair.

"It's not fair," he said aloud, breaking his silence. He hated feeling so pathetic. Jason needed it to stop. Then an idea came to him.

An unbreakable vow.

Jason quickly went to his charms book. Normally, an unbreakable vow had to be done with a person, resulting in the person's death if they break the vow. Jason remembered there was a tamer version that one could do on their own, using an object as collateral. He looked around his room, the faintly glowing green meteor catching his attention. He grabs it and takes out his wand.

"No one will ever make me feel that way again and get away with it," he vows. He casts the spell, green sparks flying around until they finally encapsulate the hand that is holding the rock. There's a thin static line that comes out of his wand, wrapping around his arm and the rock like hot wire. It's done. Jason looked at the time. He saw it was an hour and a half or so before the Christmas party. He decides to get dressed.

Jason groomed himself, brushing his hair. It reminded him of Hermione's unkempt rat nest. If she ever tried him he'd simply have to get rid of it for her. He concluded that burning it off would suffice. Jason brushed his teeth. He was lucky he didn't have unmanageable splintered teeth like Ron's. Next time he messed with Jason he thinks he might make sure they're straightened permanently, just not in his mouth. Jason fantasized on the many ways he could torture those two and every person that ever crossed him as he continued getting ready.

Finally Jason shaved, wiped his face and sprayed some cologne onto his wrists. When it came time to put on his garbs he didn't feel like wearing the dress robes he purchased for the occasion, instead he decided to put on a normal muggle dress suit he had. He even tied a green bowtie around his neck. He takes one more look in the mirror. Not a hair out of place. Jason smirks. He was ready to pay Luna a visit.

He makes his way out of the Slytherin dungeons and heads to Ravenclaw Tower. It's still fairly early before the party starts and Jason grabs all the attention from every student he passes as no one is dressed like him. He just keeps on, not even bothering to make contact with anyone. He doesn't stop walking for a single moment until he arrives towards his destination. The aura he radiates is troubling, and for the first time he was being avoided not just because he was a Slytherin, but also because no one could recognize him.

He arrives at the hallway to Ravenclaw tower. No one is around but a blonde girl in a dusty pink princess dress, complete with ruffles and layers. A very simple outfit all things considered. It's Luna, waiting on Harry to pick her up for the party. "This is almost too easy," Jason thinks to himself. She spots him from down the hall.

"Jason!" she smiles, heading towards him and incredibly happy to see him. "I didn't know you were—"

"Shut up." Jason says. Luna stopped immediately. She looked taken aback.

"What?" she replied, an unsteady smile following.

"Shut up!" Jason shot, hand around his wand. Luna freezes. She looked at Jason. She had never seen him this angry. Though he was dressed like he was about to walk a red carpet, he looked unhinged. His eyes scared her. The two stand there in silence, staring. A moment passes before Jason finally says something.

"Luna, you were my friend." He finally managed to choke out. "You hurt me. You betrayed me. I was so dumb to think we had anything real. Now I understand," Jason almost laughed, "Did you think I was a charity case? You felt bad for me, the Slytherin outcast with no friends huh?" She shook her head with a grimace.

"Or was it even that? You knew I wanted so desperately to be friends with Harry. And it seems every member of Dumbledore's Army knew…you were told to befriend me weren't you?" Jason questioned furiously.

"Jason, stop it!"

"Of course, it makes sense now." He continued manically, "Why I was treated so coldly by everyone. You were telling them all everything about me. Probably just to have a laugh…" She listened while Jason stated the unfathomable. Jason pulled out his wand and pointed it towards Luna. "Who put you up to it!?" he demanded to know.

"LISTEN TO YOURSELF," Luna shouted back. Now it was Jason's turn to be stunned. He lowered his wand out of disbelief. Luna looked him straight in the eye and kept going, "What is wrong with you?" she says softly.

"There's nothing wrong." He refuted, "Not anymore. I have finally realized who I am, and all the consequences that come with it." Jason answered.

"Jason. What does that mean? I don't understand what's going on!" she pleaded. "I want to say I'm completely flabbergasted but…I can't," confessed Luna, "Lately…you've become someone else. A plotting someone else. It always seems like you're hiding something." She takes a step forward. "You've become obsessed with it."

Jason looks away angrily. He wasn't expecting Luna to talk back.

"I have to say, it's been ever since Harry won that Felix Felicis…" she seemed to realize something.

"You've become obsessed with him,"

He looked at Luna and took a step back. He had a confused look on his face. "What are you planning?" she asked him.

There was a chilling chuckle.

Jason straightened himself up. "You said it yourself, I'm obsessed." He shrugged. "You've proven to me I have no friends. But honestly, I only want one. Harry Potter," He finally admitted. Luna looked hurt at the admission. "But I guess I have to take matters into my own hands."

"I don't believe you Jason," Luna said with her brows furrowed. "I can't imagine what you're going to do but if you just want Harry's friendship you already have it!"

"THEN WHY DID HE ASK YOU TO THE CHRISTMAS PARTY AND NOT ME?" Jason roared. He didn't even realize what he said before the words escaped his mouth. His knees turned weak. The horrible thumping in his ear returned but with a vengeance. Luna ran towards him as he clutched his head. He saw her coming and pointed his wand at her before she could get any closer. He got up, gritted his teeth in pain, but didn't want to show any weakness. "Maybe….I want Harry to be more than a friend," He whispered, rubbing on his temple as he got a huge sense of Déjà vu. It feels like he's come to this realization before. He got back up.

"Besides," Jason said calmly. "Harry could never truly be my friend. I'm a Slytherin."

"I didn't know," Luna tried to tell Jason. She slowly backed away from Jason. "I didn't know you had feelings for Harry." Jason walked towards her with his wand still pointed at her. "But you have MY friendship Jason. You always did! Think about it, we've been friends since BEFORE Dumbledore's Army was created! It's always been REAL with me Jason," she finished. Jason realized she was telling the truth. His ears started thumping again, making him lose focus and close his eyes in agony. Luna was ready.

She quickly reached for her wand, it was in a pocket in her dress that she needed to unzip. Jason heard it and opened his eyes, but it was too late.

"Expelliarmus!" Luna yelled. Jason's wand flew out of his hand. He looked at her with rage, one eye still closed in pain from the pulsing headache he felt. "You need help Jason," Luna said without a second thought.

"NO!" he screamed. But Luna wasn't budging. He was beginning to feel it. Humiliation. Pity. Disgrace. Jason had the upper hand multiple times, yet she still bested him. Somewhere deep down Jason knew Luna was making sense, but Jason did not want to hear it. He couldn't let her make him feel this way. He made a vow.

Jason snapped.

His fingers cracked and he ran down the hallway as his snap made Luna scream. Jason instantly regretted his actions. He was about to turn down the hallway when he couldn't help but look back. There was Luna…unharmed.

Instead her wardrobe had changed. The frilly princess dress with the layers she was wearing before looked like it had been turned inside out. The puffs were deflated and she was left with tattered ends and wrinkles all the way down. Once seamless layers were now hard cut offs. Her dusty pink dress now a sooty purple. She looked at her dress in confusion. Jason, relieved she hadn't hurt her, ran off.

He picked his wand back up and continued dashing down the hall ways, tripped on the moving staircases a few times, and even falling on his face. But he wouldn't stop. He was headed towards Moaning Myrtle's bathroom.

"Jas—" Myrtle didn't even finish moaning his name before he shot her with a noise nullifying spell. She looked like she was going to start suffocating and clawed at her neck before she disappeared. Jason headed towards his enchanted stall, grabbed his cauldron of his half-baked Felix Felicis and threw it out the window, causing it to break noisily.

"Ad Silvam," Jason screamed at the cauldron with his wand, releasing a cloud of smoke that caught his cauldron before it spilled. The cloud carried his cauldron towards the forbidden forest. He watched it before the window he broke began repairing itself, pulling the broken pieces back into place. He darted off again.

Everything was a blur. All he could do was keep going until he made it out the doors of Hogwarts and sprinted to the forbidden forest after his cauldron. He entered the forest through a particularly thick area, which tore and ripped his suit apart. He just kept running until he caught up with his precious project. It stopped floating in a spot of the forest that got a ray of moonlight shining down on a small hill. A perfect spot for continuing the brew. Jason conjured up what he needed, and got back to work for the rest of the night.
