A/N: HI READER
Fairy Tales, ya either hate em or ya love em, personally I'm pretty eh on the matter. But I do know everyone on my page loves Kamen Rider, and I'm especially loving Saber. So for this One Shot Trailer I'm doing Kamen Rider Saber with Ever After High, weird I know but hey it works.
And I know some people are gonna start saying:
"Oh it's too early for you to write a Saber fic, it's only been three months since the show started iughioeuhubiab!"
And to that I say:
"Who gives a fuck?"
Like I said this is just a trailer so I'm obviously gonna wait a couple more months until more of Saber is shown before I write the full story, so chill out.
So anyone let's get this trailer going!
Trailer: The Swordsmen of Destiny
Long ago, a promise was made, a promise that destiny could one day be changed, this promise revealed the truth behind people. This promise drove a knight to turn against his comrades, drove him to ruin the world. His fellow swordsmen tried to stop him from completing his plan, from finding the truth.
The swordsmen came so close to failure, if not for one drive back the traitor and his evil forces, but in return sacrificing himself in doing so.
Now a new era of knights shall find themselves in the same world as their predecessors, fighting to defend the honour of this world and the princesses that strive to change their future.
Book End, a magical village filled with wonder and amazement. In terms of aesthetic it looked like any common rural town, but still had a sense of awe that resembled that of fairy tale. Greenery was seen far and wide around, while the many buildings were advertised with fantasy pun like names. This town was one of peaceful nature, with little to no conflict.
Well, until today it seemed.
A strange creature roared as it threw a large rock at an armour clad man as crowds of people ran from the ensuing chaos of the surrounding area, a section of the town seeming to be cut off from the rest.
The monster's opponent was an armour clad man wielding a sword that he used to slash the rock in half, an aura of fire and heroics was around him.
The two were locked in battle, the strange creature clearly the aggressor as it swing a large fist at the warrior angrily. The warrior tried his best to combat it with his sword, but refused to move out of the way of any attacks, the reason so being the person trapped behind him.
Said person was a young woman with pale skin with purple lips and eyes. She had long dark hair tied back and decorated with purple streaks running down it. Her outfit was gothic, a black and purple dress with silver shoulder pads and feathered sleeves with some chains to decorate her waist. She had fishnet and high heeled boots with buckles to complete the look. Strangely, she had a pair of large rock-ish hand wrapped around her arms and torso, keeping her bound.
"RAGH!" The swordsman cried out as he landed a hard slash across the monster's chest, casting a shower of sparks off of it as he quickly turned back to the girl. "Don't worry, I'm going to get you out of here, you and everyone else!"
"But…but that thing's going to kill you! How can you be so confident you'll win…..?" She said, her voice being shrilled yet adorable.
"Because, I made a promise you and everyone else trapped in here." He spun around his sword, stropping and dragging the blade against his forearm. "And a knight always keeps his promises to a princess, always!"
The monster roared at the knight again, who grasped his sword tighter as it came charging at him.
"A knight….in shining armour…."
Some may say the pen is mightier than the sword, in some cases this true. But for one knight, the saber in his hand will be the pen to write it all down, and his words shall save this world.
"Riley….Riley wake up." A voice said, shaking the shoulder of a young boy, possibly 15 or 16. He has short brown hair and red eyes wearing a red open shirt over a black T-Shirt. He had a pair of jeans and white trainers to finish the looks. Riley groaned and rubbed his face sitting up from his laid down position on the bus seat.
"I'm up, I'm up…" Riley murmured and rubbed his eyes. "What's….what's wrong Mr Jameson?" He asked the teacher.
"We're coming to a stop at a station for some relax, just wanting to let you know." Mr Jameson said before returning to his seat.
Riley gave a big yawn and shook his head, smacking his lips as he looked out the window of the bus. 'A ten hour trip and it's only been about five or six, this better be worth it.' He thought to himself. 'Stupid summer camp.'
Riley was sadly condemned to a summer camp trip because of failing one class, ONLY ONE, English really was a pain in the ass. He understood the classes just fine, but the writings like essays and tests were where he came to an end. And apparently joining a club was a factor but who really cares about school clubs anyway?
Besides the tests, there was one part of English he could easily pass, creative writing. He could easily write a story, but because of parental expectations he would always fake his writings to make it seem bad.
He relaxed back into his seat, rubbing his eyes to get the sleep out of them before looking around the bus. There were only six kids on there, four boys including himself, one girl, and an unidentifiable one.
Included were a boy in a blue overcoat with glasses and blonde hair and green eyes, he was the most formally dressed in a white button up shirt and black trousers and shoes. Another boy had black hair and blue eyes with a green unzipped jumper over a darker green shirt with jeans and black sneakers. Next to him was a larger more built boy with combed over auburn hair and brown eyes wearing a grey leather jack over an orange vest shirt with fingerless gloves, ripped jeans, thick boots, and a cowboy hat. Next was the quiet kid who there in a large pink hoodie that covered their whole top body, their face concealed by sunglasses and a facemask as well as white skinny jeans and purple convers, there was also a hint of blue hair poking out of the hood. Finally was a girl who had white hair and orange eyes wearing a yellow crop top over a black long sleeved shirt with shorts and high socks.
"Ok kids, we're going to be taking a quick break." Mr Jameson said, getting everyone's attention. "Everyone head to the rest room and get a snack if you want, this'll be your last chance before we head on to the camp." He got mutters if agreement and sat back down.
The bus came to a rolling stop, all the kids getting off and going to do different things, the quiet kid immediately going to the bathroom while the loudmouth and the brute attacked the vending machine. Seeing this as some time to be along, Riley sat down on a bench and took out a book, taking a pen he began to write down somethings, doing so he didn't notice the white haired girl sneaking up behind him.
"Watcha writing about loser?" She suddenly said, making the brown haired boy jump and nearly drop his book.
"Agh! Hey, don't sneak up on me like that." Riley said, trying to hide the book. "Do I know you?"
"Nope, no you don't. But you seem like the only cool guy to hang out with so I decided to sit next to you." She said sitting down next to him. "What's ya name loser?"
"Riley, Riley Arthurson." He said. "And you?"
"Jessica Demetri, call me Jess." She sighed and looked up at the sky. "Sooooooo, what brought you to this shit hole of a trip?"
"Failing a class, English to be specific. What about you?"
"Arguing with my step dad, guy's an ass so I didn't want to spend my summer with him while my mom's away." Jess answered. Suddenly, the boy in blue sat next to Riley on the other side of the bench, not looking at them and rather looking at his phone. "Hey, can we help you dude?"
"Don't mind me, I'm just sitting here because this seems like the most sociable area out of the six of us." He responded.
"Huh?" The two questioned.
"I refuse to be anywhere near the loud mouthed jokester and the muscular oaf, and I respect the quiet kid's want for isolation." He pushed up his glasses. "My name is Oliver by the way, Oliver Roberts."
"I'm Riley, and this is Jess." Riley offered his hand to shake, but Oliver just ignored him. "Ok…"
"Hey loser what's this?" Jess noticed the book hiding in his jacket and snatched it, getting a panicked reaction from the boy as she opened it, pushing Riley away. "What is all this? 'She gently held his face, the calm winds blowing through the field as they gazed into each other's eyes.'? What the hell man?"
"Give that back!" Riley managed to snatch the book away, only for Oliver to take it away also.
"Ahem, 'Diana, not matter what our families think of us, I will always love you to the ends of the earth, nothing will come between us. With nothing else to say he pressed his lips against hers.' You wrote this I'm guessing?" He asked.
"Shut up!" Riley took the book and stood up, stuffing it in his backpack. "Pretend you didn't see that!"
"Wait, you're failing English even though you can write some good stuff like that?" Jess asked. "Dude you should be acing it if that's the case."
"I agree, you use of linguistic techniques are far better than other school submitted stories I've read, then why are you failing?" Oliver added.
"Well, I…..my parents aren't fond of my creative writing, they'd rather I focus on maths and stuff like that so I decided to pretend to write bad stories. It also doesn't help I suck at writing essays so…" Riley sighed. "I'm going back to the bus, don't…..please don't tell anyone about this." He said before walking back, the other two slowly following.
As the six students piled back on the bus, Riley taking out a book to read as the others did their own thing, Jess jamming to some music, Oliver still on his phone, the loudmouth slurping too loudly from his drink while his friend facepalmed and the quiet kid just looking out the window with their knees on their chest.
Mr Jameson and the driver had yet to return, so the kids were just relaxing as they waited. While the driver and teacher were distracted by trying to find directions, they didn't notice the strange man in the long coat and hat step onto the bus.
"Hmm…" The quite kid noticed the stranger as he stepped on and sat at the driver seat and started the engine. Seeing this, they leaned out of their seat and tapped Riley repeatedly on the shoulder. "Riley…..Riley….Riley…"
"Huh, what is it?"
"Who's that?" They pointed at the stranger and the brown haired boy immediately stood up and walked over to him.
"Excuse me sir, who are you and why are you in our bus driver's seat?" He went to grab the stranger's shoulder, only to be flung back by a burst of dark energy.
"Riley!" Jess gasped and went to help the boy. The stranger grinned and slammed down the acceleration, speeding the bus down the rope. On the inside, the six kids were taken aback from the sudden speed. "Hey, asshole, who the hell do you think you are?!" Jess stomped over to him, only to be blasted back by that dark energy.
"Please remain in your seats, this ride is going to get far more extreme." The stranger said as he suddenly pulled out a large purple, silver, and gold sword and slashed at the driving controls, leaving it all in shambles as he stood up and faded into darkness. The kids meanwhile were beginning to panic as Riley, Jess, and Oliver went over to try stop the bus.
"Do something!" Oliver cried out.
"I'm trying!" Riley panicked as he tried stepping on the brake. "The brake's aren't working!" The wheel was slashed in half so there was nothing for him to work with there, and everything else was in shambles, it was like the bus was driving on its own. "Everyone hold on!"
The bus came close towards a tunnel, all the kids inside screaming as the bus entered, and subsequently vanished.
Hello everyone! Today is another beautiful day in the lovely little town known as Book End. Birds are singing, squirrels are chirping, and the sun's shining! What a world we live in aye?
Any who, our wonderful protagonist and antagonists were once again enjoying their times at the greatest school of all time, Ever After High.
But today's the day that everything changes! For today, our brand new protagonists arrive!
Brooke, what have we said about trying to change the story?
I'm not though dad, it says so right here!
Beg your pardon?
She's right dear, it says so right here. Strange, could've sworn it said something different a minute ago.
OH WELL, like you said we gotta read it!
Right…..continue on then.
YEAH! So, our heroes emerge from the darkened tunnel….
The bus was filled with wide eyes and open mouths, everyone gasping heavily as they try to process what happened.
"Wh…where are we?" The loud mouth stuttered as he looked out the window. Outside there were vibrant fields filled with different animals, the skies were pretty and fill with lushes clouds.
"What the duck is going on?" Jess asked, only to blink in confusion. "What the shoot did I just say?"
The bus continued to drive itself into a small quaint town which appeared to be normal, the people and things around them was what confused them, however.
"That's a giant…" Oliver pointed out.
"That girl has bunny ears!" The brute said.
"Why can't I swear!? For duck sake!" Jess said angrily.
Riley looked around the town in silence, awe all over his face as he took in all the strange sights. The buildings were like castles, the people looked like princes and princesses, everything was so fantastical to him, and he loved the look of it.
The bus finally came to a halt, stopping outside of building with a sign saying Logos Library. The door hissed open and the six teens sat there in silence.
"So….any ideas?" The loud mouth said.
"We stay here, we wait for an adult." The quiet kid said.
"The best thing we could do is exit this cursed bus, it put us outside this building for a reason so we need to find out what." Oliver pushed up his glasses.
"I agree with him, what could be so bad about a library huh?" The brute said.
"Have you never seen a horror movie dude? Libraries are always haunted!" Jess said.
The teens' attention was brought to the sound of footsteps, belonging to Riley as he stepped out of the bus, smiling as he breathed in the fresh air.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but I'm not gonna live in this bus like some hobo, so you can come with me, or stay here, your choice." He offered, and one by one the other fives teens stepped off the bus, making sure to bring their luggage and other things on their. Good thing they did, for as soon as the last person was off the bus started up again drove off, fading away into specks of nothing.
"Well that's just perfect." Jess groaned.
Riley shook his head and looked at the library, he walked up the many stairs and stood in front of the double doors, the others following as they stood side by side.
Taking a deep breath, Riley pushed the doors open, followed by a loud creak as they entered the library. Inside, they could see shelves upon shelves upon shelves of many different books, while the others weren't as interested, Riley was having the time of his life looking around them.
"Wow, now this is a collection, look at all this!" He chuckled. "This is amazing!"
"Whatever you say nerd." The loudmouth said feeling bored. "It's just a bunch of books."
"But books can mean so much to many people." A voice said, walking down a flight of spiral stairs was a beautiful woman with flowing red hair and violet eyes wearing majestic clothing that looked closely to what a queen would wear. "We have books of all kinds here, fantasy, reality, even science, so what can I interest you all in today?"
"Um…well we're not actually here to browse, our bus randomly stopped here so we wanted to find some kind of answers." Riley said.
"That voice, can it be…?" The woman squinted her eyes, trying to get a better view at the six teens. "It is! You've all returned!"
"Huh?" They asked as she trotted down the stairs stopping in front of them and smiling.
"Sir Rafael, Sir Oswald, Lady Janice, Sir Everett, Sir Idris, Lady Veronica, you're all back!" She said, happy as can be.
"Um, lady I think you've got the wrong guys." The brute said.
"What?" She questioned, the happiness leaving her as she looked over the six again. "Oh, it seems I have, my apologies, it's just….you look a lot like some old friends of mine. You're almost identical."
"Uh, ain't no body like me, except me, ok?" The loud mouth scuffed.
"Guys…" The quiet kid spoke up. "She's not wrong, look." They pointed at a large picture, in it was the same woman as well as six other people, although one of them seemed to have his face sliced to pieces. The other five looked pretty much identical to the teens.
"Impossible, the resemblance is uncanny…" Oliver gasped.
"Could it be…you must be their descendants!" The lady said. "This is most amazing, at long last new knights have arrived! Please, state your names."
"What?" Riley asked.
"I must know your names, please." She begged.
"I'm Riley, Riley Arthurson." He introduced.
"Jessica Demetri."
"Oliver Roberts."
"Yo, I'm Ethan Thomas." The loudmouth said.
"Name's Ivan Frankston." The brute introduced.
"Skylar….Skylar Wilks." The quiet one said.
"Skylar? How does that sound anything like Veronica, not even the same first letter?" Ethan asked.
"It's….it's a touchy subject ok? I like being called Skylar." They said looking down.
"Such beautiful names, and names that are worthy to be knights." The lady said happily.
"Hold on a tick, just who are you and what are you talking about?" Jess asked.
"Oh, my apologies." She cleared her throat and straightened her clothing. "My name is Leona Cornwall, I am the keeper of the Sacred Swords and mentor of the Knights of Logos."
Sacred Swords? Knights? Logos? Those were the questions running through the teens' heads.
"And as of today, I believe the six of you are the descendants of my friends, the last Swordsmen, it must not be a coincidence."
"This is stupid, like you can't expect us to believe all this can you?" Ethan said, throwing his arms up. "Magic swords…..knights….this must be some kinda dream after we crashed the bus." Jess walked over to him and slapped his across the head. "OW! What was that for?!"
"You can't feel pain in dreams, so explain that." He was about to retort but kept his mouth shut for once.
"Ms Leona, is there some way you can really prove we're a bunch of knights? Because, with no offence intended, all this is very unbelievable." Oliver said.
"Very well, if you'll follow me, I will show you something that will prove my point." She turned around and headed towards a pair of metal doors, gently holding her hands against them as they opened as if by magic. "Come along now."
Reluctantly they followed, leaving their bags in the hallway as they went into the other room. In there were six different swords held with stone encasings, one red, one blue, one yellow, one grey, one green and one pink, although there was a seventh casing but was left empty.
"You see, this swords once belonged to the knights before you, so if you truly are their descendants, you will be able to draw them from their prisons. Only then, will the truth be revealed." Leona said, turning to look at the teens.
The six looked around at the weapons, strangely it seemed as though each one was calling to them.
Swallowing his stubbornness and taking a deep breath, Riley stepped forward towards the sword in the middle, the red one. It called out to him with a warm embrace, he reached his hand out to grab it, and the handle started to glow bright. Surprised at first, Riley remained determined and continued to draw out the sword. With one finally pull he drew out a magnificent black blade with a red circular handle guard, the sword's glow died down as Riley also felt a strange weight on his waist. Looking down, he saw an odd looking belt with three small rectangle shaped ports on it. The boy took some deep breaths as he turned around to look at his awe struck classmates, and a smiling Leona.
"Guess this means I'm a knight." He shrugged.
"Well if he gets one, I want one too!" Ethan grinned.
"Same, these things look awesome!" Jess agreed.
"I would be lying if I said I wasn't also interested." Oliver pushed up his glasses.
"Hell yeah." Ivan flicked the brim of his hat.
"I would….I would like one too." Skylar nodded.
Oliver reaching for the blue one, Jessica for the yellow one, Ethan for the green one, Ian for the grey one, and Skylar for the pink one. Each sword glowed their respected colours as each teen felt a different aura surrounding them. Oliver and Jess' swords were similar to Riley's, but instead of the red circular handle they had a blue one and a yellow one, they also had the same belts as Riley. Ian's sword was the biggest with an orange blade and two handed grip. Ethan's was both dark green and lime green and seemed to be able to split into two. Finally Skylar's was black and pink with a blue line going along it.
"Wonderful, you've all be chosen, this proves that you truly are the next Knights." Leona clapped happily. With a smile, she walked over to the teen, starting with Riley. "Riley Arthurson, you are the Swordsman of Flames, the Knight of Dragons, Saber." She then walked over to Oliver. "Oliver Roberts, you are the Swordsman, the Knight of Lions, Blades." Then Jessica. "Jessica Demetri, you are the Swordsman of Thunder, the Knight of Djinn, Espada." Then over to Ivan. "Ivan Frankston, you are the Swordsman of Land, the Knight of Tortoises, Buster." Then Ethan. "Ethan Thomas, you are the Swordsman of Wind, the Knight of Ninjitsu, Kenzan." And finally Skylar. "Skylar Wilks, you are the Swordsman of Sound, the Knight of all things Sugary, Slash."
"Wait…why do all of them get cool knightly themes and I'm just candy?" Skylar asked.
"That's just the power of Slash my dear, you'll understand soon enough." Leona patted Skylar's head. "Now, you must keep these swords with you at all times, you must make sure not to lose them."
"Pardon my asking, but what about that seventh stone over there?" Oliver asked, pointing to the finale stone that seemed to be cracked. "Should we be expecting a seventh member?"
"N-no, you won't be, that sword has been lost for a long time, don't expect to see anyone holding it." Leona said, sounding quite sad about it. "Anyway, please follow me to the common area, we can continue to talk there."
After collecting their bags, the teens followed Leona into a common room where they settled down and relaxed, Leona coming back with a tray of tea and snacks.
"I must say, it is lovely to have guests here, not many people are fond of books or libraries now adays." She sighed, pouring tea for everyone one. "So, tell me, what brings you all here?"
"Well, we were on our way to a summer camp trip, but things kinda went south when he got hijacked by this weird guy with a weird sword." Riley answered, eating one of the snacks. "It was all purple, and kinda scary looking."
"Purple….and scary….?" Leon questioned, nearly dropping the pot before coming back to her senses. "So he's back….Calibur…" She whispered.
"What was that?" Jess asked, no one really hearing the last part.
"Oh, oh nothing." Leona waved off. "Now, for the real reason that you must be here. Tell me, do any of you believe in destiny?"
"Destiny is pointless illusion that makes people want to believe that something special will happen to them." Oliver answered.
"Astute answer Sir Oliver." She giggled. "But what if I could tell you that you six could have the opportunity to change destiny?"
"Change destiny….? Is that even possible?" Skylar asked.
"Well, not normally, but the newest generation of Fairy Talers isn't very fond of the way things so, especially the kids of the story villains, they're all expected to take up the past roles of their parents." She took a sip.
"Why's this such a big deal anyway? Boo hoo you have to live a fairy tale." Ethan
"It would be a big deal when it comes to Milton Grim and what he says, apparently if you don't follow destiny's plan you'll disappear from existence." She took another sip and put her cup down. "If I'm to be honest, he's full of nonsense and pilly poppy, he just wants to be known as the next big Grimm like his ancestors. So this prompted some of the students to….well rebel against it all, and that's were you all come in."
"What, you want some outsiders, us, to see the issues this guy is trying to force on these kids?" Riley questioned.
"Exactly!" Leona clapped. "You are a smart one Sir Riley. But that's not the only real reason, someone else is trying to make drastic changed to Book End, but not in the good way. This person is summoning monsters, monster far more powerful than anything the Fairy Talers would have ever experienced."
"Wait a minute, we're just city kids, we can't fight some monster!" Ivan exasperated.
"Nothing to worry about Sir Ivan." Leona said and stood up.
"Do we even get anything outta this? Like….what's in it for me?" Ethan yawned.
"Oh, doing the right things is rewarding enough, is it not?" Leona said, not exactly getting the response she wanted. "Well, how does super powers and heroic fantasies sound? A chance to live in a wonderful new world? You might even find love from any of the princesses."
"Living here does sound nice I guess." Skylar shrugged.
"You chicks dig knights, hell yeah I'm in." Ethan grinned.
"This place is pretty looking, I wouldn't mind." Ivan nodded.
"You had me at super powers!" Jess rubbed her hands together.
Oliver only nodded.
"We've come this far, so there's really no going back, we're in." Riley said, and that was all Leona needed to hear.
"Fantastic! As of today, you're training begins." Leona clapped happily.
[3 days later]
Riley sighed as he finished his training for the day, Leona had been drilling everyone like dogs. Sure their swordsmanship had greatly improved over the days, but still it was tiring.
So while everyone was relaxing back at the library, Riley took this opportunity to go out and explore the town. For his first stop he decided to try the local coffee shop, wanting to see if fantasy coffee was any better than real world coffee.
So there sat outside the shop, with the mug in front of him, filled with a weird red coloured liquid. Riley hummed as he looked at it, it looks and smells like coffee but….is it safe for him to drink?
'I mean I already paid for it, so I might as well drink it.' He through and slowly picked up the mug, taking a small sip and humming in delight at the exotic taste. 'Better than I thought it'd be.'
"Evil Queen's daughter!"
The sudden outburst caused him to jump lightly, spilling a little bit of his coffee on his jeans. "Ow, ow, ow, ow! What the heck….?"
He stood up from his seat, patting down his jeans to stop the burning. He looked over to where the shouting had came from and saw a girl around his age fallen on the floor, rubbing her head as she was clearly pushed by someone leaving in a frantic manner. The girl herself was dressed very Gothically with long black and purple hair. The girl looked down sadly as she sat up, rubbing her shoulder and sighed.
Not wanting to seem rude, Riley quickly walked over to her and offered his hand, also picking up a small black and purple purse that she dropped.
"Hey, that looked like a nasty fall, are you alright?" He said.
"Huh, oh, yeah I'm fine…..you get used to it after a while." She sighed and took his hand, helping her up to her feet. "Thanks."
"Why would you have to get used to that? Seems kinda rude of that person to just push past you like that." Riley frowned. "I'm Riley, Riley Arthurson, kinda new around these parts."
"Raven, Raven Queen. A pleasure." She said shaking his hand. "I'm the Evil Queen's daughter."
"Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down? There's like a hundred evil queens, besides you don't look like that bad of a person anyway." Riley said, making Raven smile a little bit.
"Um, well…thanks." She brushed some her hair back.
"Hey if you want, you could join me for a drink, I got this nice seat out here and there's always room for one more." Riley offered her, motioning to his table.
Raven giggled in response. "I would love to, just give me a moment to get my drink and I'll join you." She smiled, taking her purse and going inside.
'Holy crud I just talked to a girl! And a princess at that!' Riley mentally screamed as he bounced on the spot, taking some deep breaths before sitting back down. "Ok….ok….calm down Arthurson, you got this."
Not far from the shop, atop a roof of a building stood the bus hijacking stranger, watching Riley with the hat still over his eyes.
"The first page in this story can finally be written." He chuckled and reached into his coat pocket, taking out a small bronze and black book that look ripped on the cover. Opening the book, it revealed the front page was covered in chains, and a monstrous voice spoke.
GANSEKIOU GOLEM!
From the book spurted out a bunch of pages that formed into rock like creature with a large pot like head, two large grey hands grasping onto it, as well as a grey clay like face on it. The monster had bronze armour and a large right hand. The monster let out a low growl as it looked at its summoner.
The Stranger walked over to the monster and took out another book from his pocket, handing it over to the monster, this one was completely white. The monster let out another growl and turned around, looking at the town down below it.
Raven took a long sip of her drink and let out a sigh. "I always love the drinks here."
"So…." Riley tapped the side of his mug. "What brought you out here today?"
"Just wanting a quick drink before meeting with some friends, what's got you so curious?"
"Just trying to start some conversation." He replied. "Don't want this to just be awkward silence for the next couple minutes."
"Whatever you say." Raven shook her head. "My friend Maddie and I are gonna meet up at her teashop and go shopping, just a nice day out."
"Ugh, shopping, every boy's nightmare." Riley shivered. "Well when we finish, how about I walk you there? Just in case someone else decides to get push happy. Aye M'Lady?"
"Oh, well certainly good sir." She said in an exaggerated posh voice, leaving the two to look awkwardly at each other before laughing it off.
'Oh that was extremely dumb…' They both said at the same time.
Suddenly, the surrounding area around the coffee shop and a few other streets were engulphed in a strange white energy rectangle.
Riley and Raven looked around in confusion, as did many of the other pedestrians passing who were trapped.
"What is all this?" Raven questioned, standing up and walking over to the edge of the barrier.
"Wait, you're telling me this isn't something normal that happens here?" Riley said as he also stood up.
"No, I've never seen anything like this." Raven said, she went to touch the strange white energy, only to pull her hand back when the energy sent a spark to her hand. "Ow! That really hurt!"
"It hurts?" Riley asked before he too touched the barrier, receiving the same shock. "OW, SHOOT!" He waved his hand to ease the pain. 'What is this thing….?' He wondered before remembering back to one of Leona's lessons. 'Could this be…one of those monster attacks?'
The sudden cries of terror caught the pair's attention as they turned around the corner where they saw the strange rock monster attacking people and destroying buildings, the buildings that got attacked started to decay into rusted book pages.
"Is that some kind of golem? Why is it attacking everyone?" Raven asked flabbergasted.
'That has to be one of the monster Ms Leona warned us about.' Riley thought to himself as he looked at his shoulder bag. "Raven, you need to run, make sure these people are safe, I can take care of this thing."
"Excuse me? Riley you can't fight that thing, look at it!" Raven frantically said. "Look out!" She push tackled Riley to the ground as a pair of clay like hands soared over and crashed into the house behind them.
The Golem Megid growled as his clay hands flew back other and attached to his head.
"Foolish children….your fate is sealed at my hand!" He fired the hands from his head again, wrapping themselves around Raven's torso and pinning her to the ground.
"Raven!" Riley said with panic as he tried to pull the hands off her but to no avail. "I'll get you out of here, I promise!"
"Ju-just forget about me, go save yourself!" She pleaded, trying to break out of the hands herself.
"You would be wise as to listen to the female, but it matters not, as all who are trapped within the barrier will become part of the book!" The Golem cried out as he charged towards Riley, swinging his big fist at him. The teen ducked under the attack and pushed the monster back.
"Become part of a book? I don't know what that really means, but I do know that books shouldn't be used to hurt people." He reached into his shoulder bag he pulled out the same belt from when he drew the sword, said sword being wedged into the belt. "I also know that I'll do whatever it take to get Raven….and everyone else out of here, it's a promise!" He slammed the belt onto his waist line.
SEIKEN SWORDRIVER!
"I will be the one decides how this story ends." Riley reached into his pocket a fished out a small red book similar to the one the stranger had although the front cover of this one depicted a red dragon, and flicked the cover open.
BRAVE DRAGON!
Katsute Subete wo Horobosu Hodo no Idaina Chikara wo Tenshita Shinjuu ga Ita….
He slammed the book shut and placed it into the farthest right side of the Driver. The belt let out a harmonic tune as small bits of fire collected around him. He grabbed the handle of the swords and unsheathed it from the belt, making the book snap open.
REKKA BATTOU!
"Henshin!" Riley slashed his sword into an X shape as the surrounding fire collected onto his body.
BRAVE DRAGO~~~N!
The X shape flew forward, slamming into the Golem before flying straight into Riley's face, solidifying the rest of the fire as it all formed into a kind of armour for him. It consisted of a black and white body suit with white torso and leg armour, his left arm was black with a long red stripe, his right arm was completely red and decorated with a dragon head on his shoulder. His helmet was split red, white and black just like the rest of the armour, with a sword blade in the middle, and the front of the mask decorated with that same X shape with yellow eyes.
REKKA ISSATSU! YUKI NO RYUU TO KAENKEN REKKA GA MAJIWARU TOKI, SHINKU NO TSURUGI GA AKU WO TSURANUKU!
[Insert: ALMIGHTY~ Kamen no Yakusoku]
Riley stood there, flames licking the sides of his armour and sword in hand as he stared down the Megid.
"Impossible, a swordsman?!" It growled. From afar, the Stranger watched and smirked at the sight of the transformation.
"Riley…?" Raven look starstruck at the knight in front of her, others who were hiding from the attack looked out from their covers, some in awe and other in confusion at what they hoped might be the one to save. "What…what is all this?"
"Listen here foul monster!" Riley pointed at the Megid with his sword, putting off a sort of spectacle. "I am the Swordsman of Flames, the Knight of Dragons, I am Kamen Rider Saber!"
"Saber…" The monster growled before picking up a large rock and throwing it directly at the knight. Saber neither moved nor flinched, but instead raised his sword and cut clean through the rock, running over and slashing it across the chest, showering sparks off the monsters.
And just like that, our new hero emerges! Watch now as Saber defends his damsel in distress, all the while Raven watches on in shock at the flame spewing warrior!
Brooke, you're paragraphing again.
Oops, sorry dad, forgot about that.
"A knight….in shining armour…." Raven gaped as she watched Saber fight against this strange monster, all the while she was trapped here like a damsel in distress, and she hated that. "There is no way I am being some stupid damsel…I am Raven Queen!"
Purple magic started to radiate from her body and with a shout she blasted the clay hands away. The blast wave from the magic sent the Megid flying away, knocking it like a high speed bus.
"WHOA!" Saber cried out in surprise, looking back at the gothic girl. "That….that was intense…"
"I'm not some ordinary princess after all, I'm the daughter of the god damn evil queen." She smiled weakly and nearly fell down if not for Saber to grab her.
"Fret not, like I said I'll beat this guy." He gently set her down and turned back to the Golem Megid, who stood up himself and let out a roar, pages flying out of his body and forming into black and white monsters dressed in rags and holding short swords. "These must be the Shimi then. Alright, En Garde!"
The Shimi groaned and rushed at Saber, the Rider rushing towards also, countering their attacks with his own blade, each impact casting off small fires. Saber made short work of plenty of the foot soldiers, he did a full circular slash that knocked back the remaining Shimi. Saber faced the foot soldiers and tapped the open page on his Ride Book.
BRAVE DRAGON!
He passed his sword to his other hand as Saber's entire right arm was engulphed in flame. He gripped his hand into a fist and reared his arm back.
"Dragon Wonder!" Saber yelled and threw his first forward, sending out a large flaming burst that destroyed the last of the henchmen. "Okie Dokie rock face, now it's just you and me!"
The Golem Megid roared and charged at Saber, swinging his massive fist. The rider once again ducked under and dragged his blade across the Megid's stomach, quickly spinning around and slashing his back also. He didn't stop, continuing to slash and stab and just attack the monster.
"By the will of the Kaenken Rekka, I will burn you to ashes!" He kicked the Golem away one last time and inserted his sword back into the Driver and pressed down on the trigger, unsheathing it once more.
HISSATSU DOKUHA!
REKKA BATTOU!
DRAGON ISSATSU GIRI! FIRE!
Saber slowly moved the Rekka around, collecting masses of fire around it as he got into a stance. A roar was also heard in the sky as a mechanical red dragon flew around and stopped beside Saber, roaring at the Megid.
"Flame Cross Slash!" The dragon roared again and breathed some of its fire onto Saber, prompting the Rider to charge at the Golem with the dragon flying after him. When he got close, Saber delivered a strong slash right through the Golem's torso. Tightening the grip on his sword, he spun around and slashed him again, launching him into the air as the Megid bounced off the dragon, who began to circle the two. Saber then leapt into the air, and drove his sword downwards through the Golem, crashing both into the ground and causing a huge explosion.
[End song]
"Riley!" Raven gasped at the explosion in horror. "No…please don't be….."
The flames from the explosion began to clear away to show Saber was still intact, his sword imbedded into the ground as he sat there on one knee. He ripped his sword out, raising it high before lowering it down as the last of the fire cleared.
He sheathed the Rekka back into his Driver, closing the Ride Book, and removing it, causing his armour to disappear. After the initial rush of adrenaline, Riley was left taking deep pants.
"What a rush…" He sighed and went over to Raven, offering his hand once again to help her up. "Are you alright?"
"Am I alright? Riley what was that?" She asked flabbergasted and took his hand.
"That was, well…..my knight's armour I suppose." He weakly chuckled, rubbing the back of his head.
"Excuse me, excuse me, excuse me! Mr knight man guy!" A voiced called out as a short blonde girl with Victorian styled dress, and behind her was a boy carrying a table wearing glasses with a green shirt and suspenders.
"Um…yes, can I help you?" He asked, clearing his throat.
"Hi, I'm Blondie Lockes, you're the knight who just bravely took down that monster correct?" She asked, pointing a microphone at his face. "Please state your name to the camera."
"Uh…." Riley looked at Raven who just shrugged and motioned for him to talk. "Um, right. My name's Riley Arthurson, my knight's title is Saber, the Swordsman of Flames and Knight of Dragons."
"Oooh! He's a titled knight and everything, no doubt you earned that by taming that creature that helped you correct?" She urged.
"I….what?"
"Your Dragon, does he have a name?" Blondie asked.
"Oh him, uh….I call him Braver." He said, making up a name on the spot.
"A valiant name for an amazing creature!" Blondie squealed. "And just like a knight, you came to the rescue and saved us all, thank you for that by the way."
"Well a Knight's duty is to help those in need after all. And besides, I couldn't have just left Raven alone, she was in danger." He smiled at the goth.
"Well folks, you've seen it here yourself, we have a new Knight here in Book End, saving the day and fighting off monsters!" She turned to the camera. "I can already imagine the mad dash it'll be to see a whole bunch of Princesses trying to claim Sir Saber here as their Prince Charming!"
"Oh well, let's not get ahead of ourselves now!" Riley said, getting flustered at the thought of a bunch of girls fighting over him. "I mean, it's not like I'm the only one after all." He blurted out.
"So you're saying there are other amazing knights like you?!" Blondie gasped.
'Oh shoot that was supposed to be a secret….' Riley mentally winced.
"Come on now, you can't leave us in suspense!" Blondie smiled widely.
Riley already knew he said too much, so luckily for him the white barrier surrounding the area they were in faded away as the world returned to normal.
"Actually, I think I'd better skedaddle, come on Raven let's go!" He said, grabbing her hand as he started to run away. "Sorry to cute this interview short!"
Blondie was too distracted, blabbering at the camera about this amazing new discovery.
Back atop the roofs, the Stranger watched with a bigger smirk upon his face.
"Why am I not surprised he would be the next Saber, destiny is funny little thing after all." He reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out another strange book, this one was purple and had a front cover similar to Riley's, although the dragon instead looked malicious and evil, the title reading Jaaku Dragon.
Later, Riley and Raven had managed to escape from the public and went a place called Wonderland Haberdashery and Tea Shoppe. I may have been called a tea shop, but the place looked totally crazy.
After making some orders, Riley looked around as he saw flying hats and walking teapots going around the place, his eyes wide and his mouth slightly agape.
"Hey, I never got the say thanks for that magic outburst thing, that really helped in the fight." He said.
"Are you kidding, I should be the one thanking you. You saved me and everyone stuck in there, but what I'm really surprised about is you getting super flustered in front of the camera, are you shy?"
"Kinda, not really use to being the centre of attention." He rubbed his arm. "Well now this is embarrassing."
"Seriously? You're a knight how could you get embarrassed by that?"
"Believe it or not, I only started being a knight about…..three days ago? I had to get used to all the fire and the big dragon." Riley sighed.
"Tell the truth, is his name really Braver?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Uh….no. I came up with it on the spot." Raven giggled in response. "Aw gimme a break, coming up with names is hard!"
"I know I know." She calmed her laughter. "So what story are you from anyway?"
"My….my story…?" He hummed in thought. "Well, mine isn't exactly written yet, you see apparently I'm the descendant of the last Knight who held my sword, but besides that I know nothing."
"So, why made you come to Book End?" She asked.
"To be completely honest, I don't know. We were just brought here, next thing I know, boom magic sword, and our new mentor tells us about some Rebels vs royals or something. She's kinda on the rebel side."
"S-she is?" Raven blinked in surprise. "Th-that's nice of her I guess." Riley noticed her sudden shyness and tilted his head. "*sigh* I kinda…started the whole rebel thing, my mom's the evil Queen from Snow White, and every version of her doesn't really end….happily. I don't want that, I want a happily ever after just like Snow White gets, so I….I went against the norm and started the rebels."
"Wow…..that is…that's amazing." Riley smiled at her. "That takes a lot of courage that's for sure."
"To be honest, I wanna go into music, my friends tell me I got a specialty in it." She said.
"Well, if it's ok with you I wouldn't mind hearing you play one day." Riley smiled before noticing the time. "Oh I'd better get going. Maybe I'll see you another time." He got up and exited the shop, giving Raven a wave before going.
"Heeeeeeeeeey Raaaaaaaaaven." Someone said as she jumped down on the seat next to her, she was dressed crazily and looked like the Mad Hatter. "Who was that guy you were talking to?"
"Oh, hey Maddie." Raven looked out the window, seeing Riley running through the street, nearly tripping on something before getting back up and going. "That was….my new friend."
[The Next Day]
Riley let out a big yawn as he sat at the Libraries dinning table, the others already being there and eating their breakfast.
"Looks like you've become Mr Popular." Skylar said as they walked in, still wearing the face mask and glasses, dropping a tablet in front of him. "You've gone trending."
"I've gone wha….?" He picked up the tablet and looked at the screen, there he saw a video of him fighting the Golem Megid as well as the impromptu interview he did. "Oh god…"
"So, who's the lil goth you saved? Your new girlfriend~~?" Jess teased him.
"No, she's just a friend." Riley groaned. "Her name's Raven. All I did was save her and some people from that monster."
"And in doing so, exposed us, so good job." Oliver said, buttering some toast.
"Now come on Budd, all he did was say there's more of us, didn't say any names." Ivan shrugged.
"And besides, Ri-man's fight showed em we're the good guys, so they got nothing to fear." Ethan said with his legs kicked up on the table.
"Sooner or later, your existence would've been revealed to the world." Leona said as she walked in. "Riley, you fight against the Megid was valiant and brave, I commend you for your battle."
"Oh uh, th-thanks I guess." Riley rubbed the back of his neck.
"You especially worked well with….Braver." She smile jokingly at the silly name he gave, causing the others except Oliver to laugh at the red knight, who only groaned and slammed his head on the table.
A/N: Whoooo boy this one's a doozy.
So some might be wondering why I chose to do these two? Well while writing Faiz I came across another story like this that involves the Ryuki Riders, so after reading a lot of that story I thought it might work well with Saber since that series is themed after various Fairy Tales,
So yeah tell me what y'all think, this'll probably be written and posted when some more of Saber comes out, and I'll see you all next time.
