(A/N) Hello!

I had been working on this one for a while, and I finally finished it!

So this is from Kaira's POV. I kinda based this short on the movie "Homefront" with Jason Statham, and you'll see where I took the idea from.

I hope you enjoy this chapter!

After everything with RIZ and Harry leaving, it was nice to get back to normal. I was trying to take better care of myself, and also working with handling my nightmares and flashbacks better. I started journaling after every nightmare and flashback, hoping to maybe help figure out a trigger and work through them.

Today was a normal day. Eliot was making some snacks in the kitchen, as we hadn't really eaten today. Hardison and Breanna were at the briefing table, hacking into a database to get the schematics for the building we were gonna hit. Sophie and I were at the other side of the briefing table. Sophie had the schematics for the vault we were gonna hit, and I had found us some more clients, looking through the files and the paperwork to keep Leverage: International legitimate. Hey, someone's gotta do it.

Parker was checking over her repelling gear at the bar. The kids were at school, so we had the place to ourselves. As I was looking through the file of the client whose major employer refused to fix her paycheck after screwing it up, I heard Eliot's boots walking up. I smiled and faced him, proud of the plate he was holding.

"Hey, babe." I shot him a smile.

"You gotta try this, mama." Eliot sat the plate down.

There were nice chips and spinach artichoke dip.

"Looks amazing, babe." I smiled and chuckled.

I saw Sophie look over. Eliot picked up a chip and got some dip and held it in front of my mouth.

"Here, try this." Eliot said.

I chuckled and took a bite. It was so good!

"Oh my god, babe!" I got wide-eyed and smiled.

"Like it?" Eliot asked.

"It's really good!" I kept smiling.

"Thanks, Sweetheart." Eliot kissed my cheek.

"Here, let me get you a refill. Can't have a pretty thing like you going thirsty." Eliot grabbed my glass, teasing me slightly as he kissed my lips.

I chuckled.

"Such a tease. Thanks babe." I smiled as I watched him leave behind the bar.

I heard Sophie's heels coming towards me.

"I see you and Eliot are still going strong." Sophie smiled as she looked at me.

"Well, we had a talk and we worked it out. Ironically, I think the whole Maria thing made us stronger." I told Sophie.

She smiled and went back to looking at the schematics. Eliot walked over and sat my wine glass in front of me.

"There you go." Eliot sat beside me, an arm around my waist.

"Thanks, babe." I kissed his cheek.

"Of course, mama." Eliot kissed my lips.

Then we kissed again, and I kinda got swept up in it, and forgot I was surrounded by people.

"Seriously!" I heard Breanna yell.

"Dammit, Bre!" Eliot and I exclaimed as we shot her looks.

"In front of us? Really? Y'all nasty!" Hardison commented.

We both shot him looks. Parker was making kissing noises, and we looked at her.

"Park!" I exclaimed.

"You couldn't have done that when we weren't here?" Breanna groaned.

"Oh, hush, kid." I groaned.

Then I caught how flustered Eliot was, and I couldn't help myself.

"You good, Cowboy? You're looking a little red." I teased Eliot.

"I know what would make me feel better." Eliot was quiet and raised an eyebrow.

I mouthed "later" to him, giving him a smile. Then my phone went off. I looked at it and saw it was the kid's school.

"That's odd. It's the school." I tell everyone.

"What?" Eliot questioned me.

I hold up my finger, telling him to give me a second and everyone turns to look at us. I answered the phone.

"Hello?" "Hi. Is this Kaira Spencer?" A female voice asked me.

"Yeah, this is she." I said.

"Great! This is Principle Adams. We have Nathaniel, Sophia, and Eli here at my office." She told us.

"What? Why are the kids in your office? They okay?" I asked, also telling the team what was going on.

Eliot mouthed "what" at me and I mouthed back to hold on.

"Yes, they're okay. There was an incident on the playground. Nathaniel and Sophie punched a couple of boys." Principle Adams revealed.

"What?" I questioned.

"They're okay, but we need you to come down to pick them up." Principle Adams told me.

"I'm on my way. Tell the kids we're all coming. They'll know what to do." I hung up the phone and exhaled.

"Everything all right?" Sophie asked me.

"Yeah. Your twins decided to punch someone." I told Eliot.

"What?" Eliot questioned.

"I don't know, but we gotta go." I told everyone.

I got up and went to leave.

"We're coming too." Sophie said.

"Coming." Breanna said.

"I ain't missing this." Hardison said.

We gathered at the cars. We drove to the school in two separate cars.

We all walked in and checked in with the school police officer then we went into the office. The kids were sitting at the chairs in the office.

"Mama! Papá!" The kids yelled.

Eliot and I got down and hugged them.

"You okay, my loves?" I asked them.

Sophia and Nathaniel shook their heads, but Eli was hesitant. I nodded to Eliot.

"Hey, my man. You okay?" Eliot asked Eli, grabbing his shoulders.

Though Eli winced a bit. Eliot and I shared a look, then we both stood up and looked at Principle Adams. The kids kinds hid by our legs.

"Our recess monitor told me that they saw two boys, Johnny and Billy, pushing a kid Eli was playing with. They shoved Eli, then Nathaniel and Sophia came over and punched them." Principle Adams explained, less than thrilled.

Eliot and I got down again and looked at the kids.

"Sophia, Nathaniel, Eli, what happened?" I asked them.

"I was just playing action dolls with Danny and Johnny and Billy came over, calling Danny not nice things. So I told them to stop cause it was not nice. They shoved me to the ground, and it hurt." Elit told me.

Eliot and I turned to Nathaniel.

"Sophia and I saw it happen, so we ran over and helped Eli up, then told them it wasn't nice. They started shoving me, but I told them to stop. I was trying to protect Eli, just like you Papá." Nathaniel looked at Eliot.

I choked up a tad, and so did Eliot. He just hugged Nathaniel.

"It's okay, son." Eliot comforted Nathaniel.

I then composed myself and looked at Sophie.

"What else happened, Sophia?" I asked her.

"Then I yelled for Billy and Johnny to stop, then they shoved me. And they tried to punch me, but I dodged and punched Billy. Nathaniel yelled at them, then Johnny tried punching Nathaniel, and he punched them back. I was trying to protect Nathaniel, just like you would, mama." Sophia hugged me.

"It's okay, baby." I choked up once again.

"You did nothing wrong." I told the twins.

"You're not in trouble." Eliot assured the kids.

I stood up and the kids hugged Eliot's and mine sides.

"Mr. and Mrs. Spencer, we can't condone the use of violence!" Principle Adams argued.

"Where are those boys?" I asked the principal.

"They're in the nurses office right now because Nathaniel and Sophia broke their noses." Eliot and I just hummed, impressed.

"Are they getting punished for pushing Eli and trying to punch our daughter and son?" Eliot asked, maybe doing the thing with his eyes that scares people.

"Babe, tone down the eyes." I warned him.

Eliot just groaned at me. The principal went silent, stumbling.

"Nathaniel and Sophia threw punches! We can't let other kids know it's okay to punch people." Ooh this bitch!

"Those little assholes—"

"Language, Mrs. Spencer." I gave the principle a look.

"Those boys pushed Eli, tried punching Sophia, and shoved Nathaniel! They were defending themselves!" I argued.

"And they tried talking it out first. Those little shits—"

"Mr. Spencer, Language!" I just chuckled, amused.

Thank god she doesn't see us at home.

"They shoved our kids first!" Eliot was getting upset, and so was I.

"The recess monitor didn't see the boys shove Nathaniel and Sophia." The principal told us.

"Really?" I sassed back.

I knelt down again and looked at all three kids.

"My loves, are you telling the truth?" I asked them bluntly.

"Yes, mama." They confirmed it for me.

I stood back up and stared right at the bitch.

"I didn't raise my kids to be liars, Ms. Adams. But I think you are. I think you're protecting those boys." I explained.

She gasped.

"I am not! Those boys don't have any complaints against them." I think I was starting to piss off the principal.

"Yeah, they do." Sophia said bluntly.

I gave the principal a look and knelt down in front of Sophia.

"What do you mean, Sophia?" I asked her.

"Johnny and Billy are always picking on the weird kids." Sophia revealed.

"Sophia and I keep telling them to stop, and keep telling Principle Adams about it, but nothing happens." Nathaniel pipped up.

Eliot and I shared a look.

"Thank you, my loves." I whispered to them and stood up.

I know I caught the principal in a lie.

"What can you say? She gets it from her mother." Eliot quipped.

"Yeah, and he gets it from you." I quipped back.

I look back at the team, all with varying expressions of shock and impressed.

"I wanna talk to the little bitches parents!" I heard a very angry female voice yell.

We all look at each other and head out into the hallway. The other school resource officer was trying to calm her down, but her man was arguing as well.

"Hey!" I yelled.

"Kai, be careful." Hardison warned me.

I gave him a wink and walked a bit forward with Eliot.

"Are you the parents of the little shits who punched my boys?" Yep, this woman was a piece of work.

"As a matter of fact, I am their mother." I told the woman.

"And I'm their father. And I don't appreciate you calling my kids that." Eliot warned her.

"You must be the parents of the boys who pushed my boy, then my daughter, then my oldest son." I felt myself getting held back by Sophie.

"My angels didn't do anything wrong!" My mother argued with me.

"Karen, let's go." I saw the officer tell her.

"No! Someone has to pay for punching my boys!" The father yelled.

"Bill, let's talk about this outside." The officer told Bill.

"If anyone is paying, it's those little assholes who tried punching my kids!" I yelled.

"Okay, Darling, Eliot, lets just take the kids home." Sophie tried telling me.

I turned to face her.

"I'm not letting this go until those boys get suspended for bullying." I argued.

"My little angels wouldn't do that unless they deserved it!" Ooh, Karen was gonna get an ass-whoopin'.

"Bitch, please." I may have tried lunging at her but Eliot and Sophie both pulled me back.

"Okay, that's enough, darling." Sophie told me.

"Man, you need to control your wife." Bill was about five seconds from an ass-whoopin' too.

"You need to teach your boys to not be bullies. And trust me, there ain't no controlling her." Eliot may have given the eyes that scared people.

"And you need to teach your little shits to not punch people!" Karen yelled.

The officer had enough and tries escorting Karen and Bill out. But as they walked by us, Karen tried lunging at me with a bitch slap. I grabbed her hand and bent it back.

"Seriously?" I questioned her as Karen was screaming.

"OW! Officer, she assaulted me!" Karen yelled as I let go.

"Karen, stop. Just go home and stop causing trouble." The officer told them.

Finally they left and I saw the boys following. They looked at me, almost amused.

"Yeah, keep walkin'." I muttered as they left the building.

I finally exhaled. We went back into the office.

"Are those boys getting suspended?" Eliot asked the principal.

"There isn't enough evidence…" This bitch is pissing me off!

"Actually…" Breanna piped up for the first time since we got here, looking at her phone.

"I accessed the security cameras and it clearly shows exactly what Sophia, Nathaniel, and Eli said happened. Though, nice form on the punch." Breanna high-fived Sophia.

I just chuckled.

"And I just accessed your records, and there are clearly many complaints filed by parents, and all happened to be by parents with kids you would classify as "weird"." Breanna was sassy.

She looked at me, then Hardison.

"Damn, Bre. Don't stop now." Hardison told her.

I just chuckled.

"And I think I know why you're allowing those boys to get away with it. Because when Bill walked by, I cloned his phone. And yours. And let's just say Bill's wife wouldn't be happy to be sent an email with the texts and photos on his phone." Breanna put the final nail in the coffin.

I just looked at her, kinda proud. Then I looked at the principal, who was less than thrilled.

"We're gonna take our kids home, and if this happens again, we won't be so nice." Eliot threatened.

"Come on, my loves." I lead the kids out.

Eliot picked up Eli and we left the building. We were walking out of the parking lot to get to the car.

"I must say, that was impressive, darling." Sophie complimented me.

"Thanks, Soph." I shot her a smile.

"All right, come on, that was impressive what I did." Breanna started getting cocky.

I just chuckled.

"Wonder who she gets it from." Eliot teased me.

"Her brother." I teased back.

We had a laugh about that.

"Thanks for the assist, kid." I thanked Breanna as we made it to the cars.

"I don't know about y'all, but I think some ice cream is in order." Eliot said out loud, causing the kids to yell.

We all chuckled.

"I think it's a yes, babe." I chuckled.

"All right. Let's get you home and I'll show you how to make ice cream the fun way." Eliot told the kids as we got them in the car.

We loaded up and drove away. We drove back home.

Eliot and I taught the kids how to make homemade ice cream and we watched a movie. Then while everyone else was working, Eliot and I helped the kids with homework.

Then it was late, so we got the kids changed and ready for bed. I was putting Sophia to bed, tucking her in bed.

"I'm sorry about today mama." Sophia told me.

"You don't have to apologize, baby." I told her.

"I just wanted to be like you, mama." Sophia told me.

I'm not gonna lie, that hit me like a ton of bricks. I hold back the tears.

"I know, baby. Go to bed, okay? I love you." I rubbed her head and kissed her forehead.

"Love you too mama." Sophia said.

I went over to Nathaniel next and kissed his forehead, then Eli. I shut the door and turned out the light. I then went over to mine and Eliot's room, and got changed. Eliot was sitting at the bed as I started changing.

"You okay, Kaira?" Eliot asked me.

"Yeah, babe." I told him.

"Kaira." Eliot made it sound like a warning.

I finished and walked over to the bed. Eliot and I laid down. I had my knees bent on his leg, my head on his shoulder and my hand was gripping his hand, setting them on his chest.

"Do you think I'm a good mom, Eliot?" I asked him.

I saw the look Eliot gave me.

"Of course you are, Kaira." Eliot assured me.

I gave him a soft smile and we shared a soft kiss.

"Thank you, babe." My face then dropped.

"Doesn't it scare you sometimes how much our children are like us?" I asked Eliot.

"It scares the hell outta me, Kaira. But I also couldn't be more proud of us." Eliot told me.

I looked at him, curiously.

"Oh?" I asked him.

"It scares me because I'm worried that they're gonna make the same mistakes we did. That I did. I'm also proud of us for raising our kids to protect people." Eliot explained, rubbing my cheek.

"Then we make sure they don't make our mistakes. And we do our best." I told Eliot.

He had a small smile on his face.

"Sounds good to me." Eliot said.

We shared another soft kiss.

"I love you, so goddamn much, Kaira." Eliot said.

"I love you too, Eliot." I kissed him a little harder.

Then it escalated. But as I was laying beside Eliot, I had a thought.

It was true that I was scared at how much our kids were like us. The part that scared me more was that someone would take advantage of that, like what happened to me and Eliot. Cause I don't want them to go through the things I did. But I want them to make their own choices too. And I'm not sure how to balance both just yet.

I also had another realization. My kids were our legacy. Legacy is a funny thing. Because I was the product of a legacy. And I was raised to be apart of that legacy. My own mother left her legacy to try and protect me and Kasey. That didn't work so well for me. Then Nathan Ford left his legacy to me and gave me this crazy, complicated family. And now I have my own legacy in Sophia, Nathaniel, Eli, and Breanna.

If you would have told 17 year old me that I'd be married, raising three, well maybe four, kids, and running an international crime ring built on helping people with my two best friends, I'd punch you.

Legacy is planting seeds in a garden you're never gonna see. The other thing with a legacy, is you have no control who lives, who dies, or who tells your story (A/N Yes, these are Hamilton references, shut it!). Who knows, maybe someday my kids would run the place if god forbid I died. Maybe Breanna takes all we taught her and uses her power to change the world. But how exciting will it be to see them change the world!

(A/N) I hope you really enjoyed this chapter! So, I wanted to kinda tease a bit of the storyline I'm planning on doing for season 2 of Redemption! Which will be basically Kaira reeling from everything that happened in season 1 and focuses on healing. Now, there's still no word on season 2 yet, so, unfortunately, these shorts will have to do.

Now, I'm probably gonna wait a bit to release the next one, because I got a couple other projects that I need to work on yet, which I will share eventually.

Right now, you can check me out on "Let's Go Steal A Podcast" where I talk about "The Muddy Waters Job" episode!

Remember to give kudos, share, subscribe, and comment ideas! Much love to you all! Stay safe!
