(A/N) Hello!

So this story is gonna be a bit more emotional than the last one. But I am really looking forward to showing you guys this!

Also fair warning, I'm gonna issue a trigger warning for PTSD fueled nightmares and also mentions of Moreau.

It was a slow day at the brewpub. It was the middle of the week. They managed to close down the bar early. Everyone was sleeping in their respective rooms.

That's when Kaira started mumbling in her sleep. The nightmare started like it always did. Kaira was back at that warehouse on that day. She had taken down the gauntlet of goons, the gun feeling familiar in her hands. Then that same voice, that same face Eliot made when she shot him. Kaira woke up in a panic, crying and trying not to scream. Eliot shot up, hearing Kaira's panic. He held her close to him.

"Hey, sweetheart, you're safe. You're safe." Eliot assured Kaira, trying to calm her down.

Kaira was now hyperventilating, the image of her shooting Eliot and his smile as he died replying like a broken record in her mind. Hardison and Parker were now outside the room, Hardison wearing a loose t-shirt and bottoms, Parker in one of Hardison's t-shirts.

"Hey, what's going on?" Hardison asked, immediately heading in the room with Parker, concerned for the Jack of trades.

"Nightmare."

That was all Eliot said for the hacker and thief to understand.

Hardison placed a hand on Kaira's back, rubbing circles to calm her down.

"Kaira, I need you to breathe, okay? In through your nose, out through your mouth." Parker guided Kaira.

After a few unsuccessful tries, Kaira managed to get one breath.

"Good. You're okay." Hardison comforted Kaira.

She had a death grip on Eliot's shirt. But once she could breathe semi-normally, she loosened her grip.

"I'm sorry. I-I-I—" Kaira started stumbling, feeling horrible.

Eliot shushed her.

"Don't apologize, Kaira. You're okay." He assured her, keeping her close to him.

Just then the baby monitor went off, and Nathaniel and Sophia were getting fussy, the commotion probably waking them up, so they thought.

"I'll get them." Kaira tried getting up, but Eliot, Hardison, and Parker stopped her.

"I got 'em, Sweetheart." Eliot told Kaira.

He turned to Parker and Hardison.

"You got her?" He asked.

"Yeah, man. Go." Hardison all but ordered Eliot.

Parker gave the nod to go. Eliot placed a quick kiss on Kaira's cheek before getting up and leaving. Once Eliot left, Parker sat beside Kaira, never letting go of Kaira's hand and rubbing her back. Hardison held Kaira's other hand.

"What happened?" Parker asked.

Kaira exhaled, trying to calm down some more.

"It was just a bad dream, guys. I'll be okay." She tried dismissing them.

"Kaira, that was more than a bad dream." Hardison told Kaira.

"Eliot said it was a nightmare." Parker said.

Kaira groaned.

"I'll get through it, guys. I'm okay." She tried telling them.

But they didn't buy it one bit.

"That was you getting through it?" Hardison looked accusingly at Kaira.

Parker also gave her a look not to lie.

"What was the nightmare?" Hardison asked.

Kaira was silent, almost begging them not to ask her.

"Kaira, we wanna help you. Please." Parker begged.

Kaira groaned at herself. She could never say no to the hacker and thief who had stolen her heart.

"It's the same nightmare that's been happening since I—we took down Damien Moreau." Kaira explained.

Hardison and Parker let go and stood straighter. That's when Eliot walked back in.

"The twins are back asleep." Eliot told her.

Kaira mouthed "thank you" to him and Parker scooched over so Eliot could sit next to Kaira.

"Kaira, Moreau's gone. He can't hurt us. He can't hurt our twins. Or our son." Eliot placed a hand on Kaira's slightly swollen stomach.

Kaira let out a small smile and held his hand for a moment.

"I know." Kaira leaned into Eliot.

He placed a kiss on her temple.

"You didn't answer our question, Kaira." Hardison almost scolded Kaira.

Parker and Kaira shared a look, Kaira almost begging Parker not to say what she thought she was about to say.

"It's about what happened at the warehouse, isn't it?" Parker questioned Kaira.

"Parker–" Kaira almost begged.

"Babe, what do you mean "what happened at the warehouse?" Hardison asked Parker.

"Kaira, tell him." Parker told Kaira.

"Parker, don't ask her." Eliot scolded, holding Kaira still.

Kaira looked at Eliot and exhaled.

"Eliot… it's okay." Kaira assured Eliot.

There was a long moment where Kaira and Eliot looked at one another, silently debating what to do. Kaira then looked at Hardison.

"When Nate, Eliot, and I went to that warehouse, we knew something was off. I mean, who has an auction at a warehouse." Kaira stopped herself, flashbacks to that day coming to her fast.

Eliot gripped her hand to help her.

"We found the Italian gagged and tied to a chair. She was undercover with Moreau, but he had men in her organization." Eliot continued explaining.

"Makes sense." Hardison said.

Kaira composed herself.

"But that's when it all went to hell. Cause that's when you said something was wrong, as the bomb wasn't in that room. Then Moreau's men shut the main doors to the warehouse and started coming in. And our only priority was getting Nate and the Italian out." Kaira explained.

"As we were running, we got caught in this kill box. I had taken out a guy, but there were a lot more men than we could take out single-handedly." Eliot explained, his voice getting quieter.

"The only way to get Nate and the Italian out was to take them out." Kaira explained.

"Take them out… permanently?" Hardison questioned.

"Yeah." Eliot confirmed.

"Yeah." Kaira confirmed.

She then closed her eyes and inhaled.

"What happened next?" Hardison asked.

"Moreau's second, Chapman, pointed his gun at us, so we shot him. A lot." Kaira admitted.

Hardison just looked at the couple.

"We didn't tell you because we were ashamed. Kaira and I did something we thought we'd never do again." Eliot explained.

Kaira just lowered her head. Then shared a look with Parker.

"That's not entirely true." Kaira admitted.

The team all looked at her.

"What?" Eliot questioned Kaira.

Kaira started tearing up some.

"I told Parker." Kaira admitted.

"You told me Eliot got out with Nate and the Italian." Parker scolded Kaira.

"Why did you tell Parker?" Eliot asked Kaira.

"Remember that fraternity you infiltrated that was doing experiments on homeless veterans?" Kaira asked Eliot.

"Yeah I remember that." Eliot said.

"Parker caught me talking to you about it. So I told her." Karia explained.

"You lied, Kaira. You told me it was just you in that warehouse." Parker scolded Kaira.

"Kaira, why did you leave me out of it?" Eliot asked.

"I was protecting you!" Kaira exclaimed, trying to keep her voice down.

Kaira took a couple of breaths to calm herself.

"Cause what you did at that warehouse wasn't my story to tell, Eliot." Kaira turned to Parker.

"I'm sorry." Was all Kaira could tell Parker.

Parker turned to Hardison.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you, Hardison." Parker told Hardison.

"I understand, Parker." Hardison pulled Parker in for a side hug.

Hardison then looked at the couple. He could see the look of shame on the couple's faces.

"We understand why you did it. You were buying time for Nate. You were doing your jobs." Hardison told the couple.

Parker showed her agreement.

"But why did you wait that long to tell us? You've just been carrying this around all this time." Hardison asked.

Eliot and Kaira both exhaled.

"Cause you didn't need to know what we did that day." Eliot explained.

"And we had promised each other a long time ago that we wouldn't do that sorta thing anymore. And after that night, I had a horrible nightmare." Kaira choked up a bit, remembering the nightmare.

Eliot rubbed her back, feeling bad for his wife.

"What nightmare?" Parker asked.

Kaira exhaled.

"Kaira, you don't have to say anything." Eliot tried telling Kaira.

"I have to, Eliot. They deserve to know. And I can't keep this to myself anymore, Eliot. I need to get it out. Cause it's gonna eat me alive if I don't deal with this. And that's not safe for me or our unborn son, Eliot." Kaira grabbed Eliot's hands.

Eliot moved her hands to his lips and kissed them, then carefully moved her to sit on his lap, so he could wrap his arms around her stomach to keep her calm. He gave her a nod to tell her it was okay and he had her back. Kaira turned to Hardison and Parker.

"It started after the warehouse. I'm at the warehouse, shooting Moreau's men. And I hated how good the gun felt in my hands. Then I'm standing there, and I hear Chapman's voice behind me. I turn around to kill him, but I see Eliot." Kaira started tearing up, and Eliot grabbed her hands to squeeze them to help her calm down.

"And that's where the nightmare ends." Kaira finished.

Parker and Hardison grabbed Kaira's shoulder, hoping to comfort her.

"Thank you for trusting us with this, Kai." Parker was slightly upset.

"Yeah, Kai. Thank you for telling us." Hardison gave her a nod.

"How do you feel?" Parker asked Kaira.

Kaira exhaled and wiped her eyes some.

"Better." Kaira answered.

Eliot kissed Kaira on the neck softly, helping to distract her a bit.

"Good." Hardison said.

He then turned to Eliot and Kaira.

"We should go back to sleep." Hardison suggested.

He went to get up along with Parker.

"Hardison. Parker." Eliot stopped them.

Hardison turned around.

"Thank you." Kaira said for both her and Eliot.

Parker and Hardison just nodded and left, shutting the door behind them. Kaira and Eliot both laid back on the bed, exhaling.

"How does it feel, Kaira?" Eliot asked her.

"Oddly good. Like I don't have to carry this secret anymore." Kaira told Eliot.

He grabbed her hand, interlocking their fingers. He first kissed her hand, then placed the joined hands on her stomach.

"We really got lucky, didn't we babe?" Kaira turned her head to look at Eliot.

He looked at her.

"Yeah, we did." Eliot smiled at her.

"Running a brewpub, creating Leverage: International, raising our twins. Our son coming in 6 months. It's a crazy life, but it's ours." Kaira smiled at Eliot.

"I never thought I'd live this long. But I thank God every day that I get to spend my life with you, Kaira Spencer." Eliot moved his hands to he could lean towards Kaira.

"Me too, Eliot Spencer." Kaira smiled at Eliot.

They shared a soft kiss. Then they went back to sleep. And Kaira didn't have that nightmare for a long time.

(A/N) I hope you enjoyed this!

So in some good news, by the posts that the cast and crew have been posting, it seems like they are in New Orleans now about to start filming. And it seems like Beth Riesgraf is directing again! So that should be amazing! And going by Gina's post that she was heading to New Orleans for 6 months, and if my maths is correct, we should be getting Redemption season 2 in October, possibly November maybe depending on how long post-production takes.

So that means we should be getting trailers here, possibly maybe June, July? I'm honestly so excited for this! I can't wait to continue writing Kaira's story and what crazy shenanigans they get up to in season 2!

That being said, my plan is to keep updating this book regularly until season 2 is out, which will be my main focus. I'm also planning on finishing my Uncharted: El Dorado fic on AO3, then finish that series with the second and third book. And, maybe, I will write my own story! I have many projects in mind to do, but I also am planning on moving this summer, so we will see how that goes!

Thank you so much for reading this! Remember to favorite and comment! Much love to you all! Stay safe!

Kaylee.
