It was Kensi's first night home after being discharged from the hospital. She and Deeks had been sitting on the couch playing checker before Kensi needed to lay back and rub her neck.

"You alright, baby?" Deeks asked.

Kensi groaned. "Just really sore and stiff."

"Is there anything I can do? Heating pad? Massage? Pain meds?"

Kensi considered for a few moments before asking Deeks to bring her her pain medication.

"Here you go, baby." Deeks said handing her the medication and a cup of whatever before kissing her on top of her head.

Kensi threw back the drugs and took a small sip of water to wash them down.

"Thanks." She said quietly.

"Hey. How was therapy today?" Deeks asked as he returned home from work to find Kensi on the couch.

Kensi sighed putting her head in her hand. "Rough."

"I'm sorry, Kens." Deeks said feeling helpless.

"Can you grab my prescription from the pharmacy. I got a refill today at the hospital but I couldn't bring myself to pick it up. I just really needed to get home."

"Of course baby."

"I'm sorry. I know you just got home."

"Don't apologize, I'm happy to help." Deeks said grabbing the prescription from the dining room table. "I'll be back promptly with plenty of potent pain pills for my princess." Deeks said over enunciating each "p" which caused Kensi to smile.

"Thanks, Deeks." Kensi said as she stretched out on the couch.

Kensi and Deeks' moms were visiting and Kensi was losing her mind. She had just gone for a job and was feeling a little bit sore but was willing to gut through the pain. As Kensi sat down at the kitchen table, she was suddenly bombarded with the moms moving her stuff, cutting her food, brushing her hair, trying to help her get changed. They were everywhere.

"Ok, you know what, can we just, can we just stop for a minute, please?" Kensi asked desperately.

"Whats wrong?"

"What do you need?"

"I don't need anything i just i need you ladies to leave me alone... for a second. Ok?" Kensi sighed.

"We're just trying to help sweetheart."

"No. I know." Kensi said before being interrupted by Deeks' mom.

"I mean, that's the only reason we're here, honey."

"And I appreciate that, I really do, but. You're kinda driving me nuts." Kensi laughed lightly.

"Would you prefer if we did this one on one?" Her mom asked.

"No mom, I would prefer if we did this none on one. and plus, I'm supposed to be able to do these things by myself, so. "

"You are. and you're doing great." Roberta said.

"You're really doing great." Julia agreed.

"Ok stop telling me I'm doing great. I'm not 10. I know exactly how I'm doing." Kensi said, annoyed.

"She's getting frustrated."

"The doctor said there'd be depression." Julia whispered to Roberta.

"Ok stop talking, both of you, please." Kensi begged.

After a few moments Roberta said to Julia, "Maybe we should call Martin."

"Nope." Kensi said shaking her head.

"Would you like us to call Martin?" Kensi's mom asked eagerly.

"No. nope. not at all. you really don't have to call Deeks."

"I'm calling my son."

"Oh my gosh." Kensi said under her breath.

"Ok, you know what?" I have something you can both do." Kensi said as she stood up.

"You ladies have the day off. Goodbye." Kensi shut the door and waited for the pair to leave before walking to the kitchen frustrated and taking a pill for her pain.

A few moments later there was a knock at the door and Kensi returned to it frustrated yelling, "Ok. i swear, I'm gonna get my gun. What?! Why don't you just..."

"So it's a bad time?" Sullivan asked as the door was opened.

Sorry. Kensi smiled. I thought you were my mother... never mind.

"Uhh, I would have brought you flowers, but... you didn't seem like the type." Sullivan said as he presented Kensi with the case of beer.

"Thank you. Come on in." Kensi said.

The pair enjoyed a few beers each, and Kensi was feeling exceptionally relaxed by the time her and Sullivan had gone out for their walk. When she heard that Sullivan was returning to his Marine unit, Kensi decided it was time to stop feeling so sorry for herself and get back to work. She ordered and Uber and headed over to the Mission.

Kensi had returned home after unsuccessfully trying to convince Hetty that she was ready to come back to work. She sighed angrily as she looked around the living room, before heading off to the medicine cabinet and taking another dose of her pain medication.

"Kens."

"What?" Kensi asked angrily.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just kinked my neck on the car ride back." She said as she washed down a pain pill.

"Is the pain still that bad?" Deeks asked, worried about how his girlfriend was doing.

"Yes Deeks! It is." Kensi spat out.

"Kens what's the matter?" Deeks asked patiently.

Kensi sighed in anger. "I went to the mission to shoot and Hetty basically said I'm not ready to come back."

"Well baby. I mean, I don't disagree. I mean like you just said, you're still in pain. You shouldn't be back in the field unless you're feeling physically ok."

"Wow Deeks. Waita be on my side."

"Kens, that's not what I mean. KENS." Deeks called after her as she shut the bathroom door and took a shower.
