The night of the Uchiha massacre happened exactly as I had remembered, only this time I was prepared for it and I was not late. Of course, there was Obito to deal with, but he was easy enough to place under a genjutsu without him even realising what had happened. I merely posed one of my clones as a victim and allowed him to kill it whilst I used the shared ocular powers to place him under a powerful Tsykuyomi so that he could continue his work without even realising that his body had stopped moving.

Having already forewarned the clan that something was going to happen, I had had everyone gather at the police station, down to the last child in order to explain. "Tonight, you will all do exactly as I say, or you will die." For once, I was glad for my bluntness for it effectively conveyed the severity of the situation. "Because of your restlessness, Konoha has decided that we as a clan are too dangerous to allow to live, and therefore, under the secret orders of Danzo Shimura, we are all to be executed." Panic immediately followed, however before anyone could turn to run and escape, I flung out my hand and ordered for silence.

To my surprise, everyone obeyed and some even bowed their heads. My father and Fugaka were sat behind me with a few of the Uchiha elders, all of whom had listened to my announcement with grave expressions. "Miyuki-sama, if this is the truth, then action must be taken. We must fight back before we are destroyed!"

"No." Turning around, I now addressed the Uchiha council, going down onto one knee with my fist against the ground, showing them my respect but kept my head lifted up, glowering at them with bright red eyes which were rimmed with white lashes. "We will be destroyed, no matter what we do. If we fight, we die. If we surrender, we die. If we do nothing, we die. Even if we were to run, we would all die." Again a fearful murmur spread behind me, but Fugaka ordered all to be silent.

"In that case, Miyuki, what do you propose? It is not our way to accept defeat willingly. We will fight for our lives, even if it means that only a few of us will live."

"There is no need for anyone to die, Fugaka-san, for I have already devised a plan to counter this act against us." Glancing towards my father, he gave me an encouraging nod, instilling me with confidence. "Long ago I foresaw the downfall of our clan, so have spent the past eight years devising a means to ensure our survival, however, I do not think all will agree to it." Allowing my eyes to swirl into the Mangekyo Sharingan, I spoke clearly and loudly so that all present would hear me. "I will absorb you all within my Kamui, where you will continue to live in the alternate dimension that I have created with my ocular powers."

"What?!" The elders were both astonished and outraged, this time the murmur booming into a cacophony of sound. Some were willing to go, others refused. Unless they could agree to live in peace, I would spend each day fighting against those who wished to leave.

"Miyuki…" Fugaka's voice was deep and troubled, arms folded as he mulled over the decision.

"There is no other choice in the matter, except death. I have already lived through the experience of losing everyone, to suffer alone as one of the last Uchiha alive on earth, and it…it is a devastating feeling. The solitude is almost enough to drive one mad, and I cannot bear to experience this again." Turning, I addressed everyone with emotion and tearful gaze, begging them to reconsider their reproach. "Please! I beg of you, allow me to save you so that you might live another day. Live in peace and nurture yourselves to break this Curse of Hatred, only then may we enter this world again and be accepted by Konoha!"

"Why should we change our ways to be accepted by those who would betray us? It seems years of war and bloodshed cannot be forgotten after all, I vote we return to war and take control for ourselves!"

"Agreed! No one can go against our Sharingan, we are unstoppable!"

"But the children…the children will also be caught in the conflict. They have never known war, they should not have to experience it now!"

"Not all of us can fight! We are not as strong as we once were."

"That is because you have become soft!" The arguments began to break out and I was very quickly losing control of the situation. My temper began to flare, rising higher and higher until all at once, I could restrain it no more.

"BE SILENT AND CEASE THIS FOOLISH NONSENSE IMMEDIATELY OR I SHALL REMOVE YOUR TONGUES MYSELF!" Never had I ever risen my voice to such a powerful volume, bellowing above all others with such ferocity that a hush came over all in my presence, a flicker of fear showing in their expressions. Except for the odd cry of a child, no one dared to speak again. It felt rather good to let out my frustrations in such a manner, I shall have to remember this experience.

"Enough. It is enough." Standing up, Fugaka asked that I turn to face him, so I knelt down once more and this time bowed my head respectfully. "Miyuki, you are the pride of our clan. You are strong and diligent in your studies, quick witted and intelligent, none but the Fourth Hokage can match your speed, and you possess a direct blood link to Madara Uchiha himself. You are…strangely gifted, and have shown nothing less than the utmost loyalty to your clan." Fugaka began, however I sensed a rather large 'but' lingering nearby. "Even so, you are also loyal to Konoha, and have always conducted yourself with faultless precision."

"Fugaka…where are you going with this?" One of the old crones of the Uchiha questioned, their wrinkled fingers flexing around their walking stick.

"Miyuki Uchiha…I surrender my position as chief to you." My head snapped up and my eyes widened in shock. "I am no longer fit to lead."

"No! Please, this was not my intention, I only-!" Shaking his head, I was further astonished when Fugaka actually smiled at me. His hand reached out and he ruffled my hair with affection, something I had seen directly only towards Itachi and Sasuke, and even then very rarely.

"It is clear to me now that my ways are not beneficial to our clan, and will only lead them to destruction. Rather than see the Uchiha destroyed, I wish for us to continue to live. Even if it is in another dimension for now. Your thoughts and views are that of a much younger generation, Miyuki, one that is needed to lead us into the future, so who better to be that leader than one who has already seen it?" Kneeling down before me, Fugaka bowed as I stood in utter bewilderment. "Long life to you, Miyuki-sama, new Head of the Uchiha Clan!"

"Long life to you, Chief-sama!" C-Chief? Although I had purposefully not allowed myself to see this part of my future on account of it being heavily affected by my choices, I had never imagined that I would be named the new chief and that Fugaka would willingly retire. The next chief should have been Itachi, not me, or had he been intending this all along, which was why he had always pressed so heavily that Itachi and I be betrothed to one another since we were young?

"So, Chief Miyuki. What do you order of us?" My father asked me teasingly with a grin, getting up and going to my side in order to place his hand upon my shoulder. "As an Uchiha and as your father, you have my full support. I shall do whatever you command."

"As will I. Better to live today and fight tomorrow." Fugaka agreed, then gradually one by one, others began to agree.

"I'll live in that alternate dimension, Yuki-chan! I'll keep everyone in check for you until we can come back, but don't think you can streak ahead of me and ensnare Itachi for yourself, I'm still your rival!" Izumi yelled to me and I almost laughed, sending her a grateful look as I slowly pulled myself together. Lifting my hand, everyone snapped their mouth shut in order to listen to my first order as Chief of the Uchiha Clan.

"Upon my orders, everyone must live in peace within my Kamui. Trust me to protect you all, and whilst I am here and cannot be with you directly, I name Fugaka Uchiha as acting chief in my stead, with his two advisors Yuuto Uchiha…and Shisui Uchiha." A gasp rippled among all present, the many hundreds of Uchiha all gathered within the Konoha Police Headquarters, but before any could register my words, I opened my Kamui and drew everyone inside, analysing their chakra and ensuring that not a single person was left behind. Last of all were Fugaka, Mikoto and my parents, to whom I turned.

"Stay safe, Miyuki, and look after Sasuke for us." Mikoto was crying a little, nuzzled against her husband who had wrapped his arm around her. I had already explained everything to all four of them, which was possibly why Fugaka had been so swift to change his mind about the insurgency. "I leave both Itachi and Sasuke to you now. Please…protect them."

"I give you my word, Mikoto-san. They shall return to you one day in the same manner they are now." I vowed to her before then bowing down low to both she and Fugaka. "Thank you for your support. I shall do my best to live to your expectations."

"No need. I am already proud of what you have become, Miyuki." Fugaka said to me kindly. "I always knew that you were destined for great things. We shall be waiting for you to return to us." Bowing back, I sent the pair into my Kamui to join the rest of the Uchiha Clan. At this point I dropped down onto my knee, gasping for air and sweating profusely from the strain of effort I had required in order to transport everybody and their belongings they had brought with them into my Kamui.

"Yuki!" Both my mother and father rushed to me, grasping an arm each to support me as I wheezed.

"I'm…alright. I'm fine."

"Oh Yuki, my brave little girl." Kissing my face, my mother pulled me into her arms and held me close to her as my father then wrapped his larger arms around us both. "We are both so proud of you. If only we could share all of this with you, we would do so in a heartbeat."

"Although we understand why this has to be this way, it does not mean we will miss you any less, my precious little princess." My father sniffed, already crying however he reigned in his sorrow as not to spoil the heartfelt farewell we were sharing. I snuggled into the embrace of my parents, feeling myself being completely overcome by the depths of their love for me as I knelt upon the ground with them. "But we will always be close to you, and we will give you our strength whenever you need us."

"Yes, we'll be even closer than we are now. All you have to do is look inside." Drawing in a shaky breath, my mother wiped away her tears before smiling at me. "Now, make sure you try to visit us as often as possible, but do not overdo it as you know how dangerous it is to use the Mangekyo too much. Also, take care not to get hurt and make sure you eat plenty and don't let yourself lose any more weight, or you'll start losing muscle tone and we can't have that! Try to make friends with other people around you, and make sure you give all the villains in this world a good old fashioned pulverising to teach them not to meddle with other people's lives." I laughed.

"Do not worry mother, I shall." Satisfied, she kissed my face repeatedly then hugged me once more before indicating that she was ready to go. I had very little time left, the moon had almost reached its zenith. "I shall see you soon, and before you know it, we will all be together again in a world at peace. I promise to create the most beautiful world for you both to return to…I shall make it the most perfect thing you have ever seen!" I swore to them as I began to open my Kamui one last time.

They were both smiling at me with utter love and faith that I felt tears began to slide down my cheeks. "How can that be?" My father questioned, one arm draped around my mother whilst the other linked their fingers together between them. "When you are the most beautiful and perfect thing that has ever existed?" And then my Kamui draw them inside and as I stared at them with my Mangekyo Sharingan, I felt a desperate sense of longing, wanting nothing more than to go with them and simply live there in peace and harmony for the rest of my life.

I forced myself not to, however, holding my ground as I grit my teeth until the last I saw were their smiles, whispering my name a final time until the gateway closed and I was left utterly alone in a completely vacant Uchiha compound. The last of the Uchiha…we were now down to four.

Obito Uchiha.

Itachi Uchiha.

Sasuke Uchiha…

And me.
