This obviously won't perfectly abide by Arc-VRAINS' or Sevens' canon, not to mention Go Rush, since I didn't find out about that one's existence very recently. I honestly didn't think we'd be this close to YGO8 by the time this comes out.
Also, this time regular deck size will be used in a Speed Duel, when I normally use Duel Links Sized Decks.

POV 1 Zephyrine

Wonder why I should go into this remote location in Link VRAINS. The mysterious letter wasn't exactly clear on that, but I have to be certain whether this is just some weird obsessive fan (in which case I have certain defensive measures) or something more serious. I encounter Naoki in front of me.

„Are you trying to defeat me in secret?", Naoki wonders, „With nobody watching? Y-ya know, I'm not as weak as I look."

And how quickly his confidence falters. I guess I won't need any of the 'hidden tools.'

„No, our letter said you would be here.", Izuku says, who also happens to be here.

„Then I suppose we should enter this big warehouse behind me and find out.", Naoki says.

Since nobody would be an obsessive fan of us three combined in particular (Especially if Naoki is part of that mix) we do just that. After an utterly unremarkable hallway, we see a younger girl in equestrian outfit. If that even is her real self, she could just be an old dude with questionable motives, since this is the internet.

„I'm gonna assume you merely arrived earlier than us.", I say regardless.

„Indeed.", she says, „I am not aware of the letters purpose either."

„I am sorry to have made all of you wait.", a weird looking chair says.

Oh, and I think I actually know this robot.

„So it's Neil testing a weird new invention on us.", I say, "Wouldn't be the first time I'm taking part in something like that."

„You know this robot?", Izuku wonders.

„Neil's the robot's owner.", I say, „This chair is called Sebastian. Don't ask me why he has a name."

"That thing's a chair!?", Naoki gasps.

„That's typical.", rant from him incoming, „you regular people make thousand worthless nameless chairs and have even gotten proud of your laziness! I carry a name because I am a far superior type of seating!"

This is actually an abridged version of the rant. The real one didn't sound as intelligent as Sebastian thinks he is.

„I am happy that you were all willing to wait.", Neil himself appears.

„Did he just wake up?", Naoki wonders, looking at his typical outfit.

„Don't start a rant justifying this.", I preemptively shut Sebastian down.

„Why are we here?", Izuku asks.

„I have to test out a new dueling system made by the Goha siblings.", Neil says, „From my Database, you four are the ideal candidates."

So it calculated goody-two-shoes, Idiot, Slightly above average intelligence and genius as the ideal candidates.

„So we four are going to duel you and the weird chair?", Naoki wonders.

„No, that is not within my providence.", Neil answers, „To even things out, it will be done as a 3v3 follow-up duel. Asana Mutsuba will duel with me and Sebastian."

„Why should I duel alongside a Goha member?", she asks angrily.

„You get a look at their decks, should be helpful if you settle your issues with them another time", I say, „Now, do you have any leverage on us besides that?"

„Maybe he wants us to wonder about his goals and go crazy while we do!", Naoki guesses.

„You're the only one of us who would act like this.", I say.

„We'll only find out more if we do the duel.", Izuku says, „What is this dueling system about?"

„It is called Rush Dueling. At the start of a turn you draw until you hold 5 cards and have no limit of normal summoning. We will also combine this duel system with Speed Duels and Action Dueling to test the compatibility."

„So, they have switched to archetypes only useful under those circumstances.", I deduce, „But It would also have to be extremely powerful within those circumstances. More than any other deck would be. Or you would have to limit the card pool."

„Whether that is the case, you will have to find out for yourself.", Neil answers.

„Any further objections?", Sebastian asks.

Nobody raises any.

"I suppose I will take this chance at observing two of Goha's presumably strongest duelists up close."

„Then It will start with Izuku vs Sebastian.", Neil announces.

A circular track made of wind appears and card bubbles are scattered over the field.

Izuku (4000lp) vs Sebastian (4000lp)

„For demonstration's sake, I will begin.", Sebastian states, „I normal summon Dwell Chair Bone and Gear. I tribute both to summon Dayu, King of Chairs. I normal summon Dwell Chair Saber. I use Dayu's effect to send a card from my deck to the GY to increase his ATK by the level of Saber times 500 until the End Phase. I activate Zerozerock, which prevents you from attacking monsters without attack points."

Then, to gather his Action Card (by the way, he speed duels while levitation and Naoki still has an incredulous expression from that) Sebastian turns into an unmanned plane and then fires a grappling hook Izuku does not pull any of his usual weird tricks here, perhaps to not give Goha any data, or because it is not needed.

„I end my turn after having obtained this Action Card.", Sebastian says.

„You're not even fully exploiting the Rush Dueling System.", I note, "Why so secretive?"

„It would be foolish to appear with perfect strategy, wouldn't it?", Neil counters, "It would only make sense if we did that with trusted members of Goha corporation."

Well, now Izuku is getting his Action Card, I guess he decided both of them having one would be less problematic than running the risk of only Sebastian having one.

„My turn now. I use Polymerization to fuse the 2 Vision Heroes Mimimum Ray into Vision Hero Release. (ATK: 2700) I follow up with Riryoku, donating half of Release's ATK to Dayu, meaning I can attack again. (Dayu ATK: 0-1350) I use Release's effect targeting himself. His ATK returns to his original status and is increased by what he formerly lost!
(ATK: 1350-2700-4050)"

„You won't circumvent my lockdown so easily! I activate my skill Stand Up & Sit Down, Dayu loses the ATK you gave him, but gains double that at the end of the turn!", Sebastian counters.

„Shouldn't those phrases be swapped?", Naoki comments, earning him the obvious angry glare from Sebastian. I really hope Sebastian rarely has to interact with the heir of Kamijou Gears Company.

„In that scenario, I set a card and end my turn.", Izuku notes. (Dayu ATK: 0-2700)

„Before your End Phase actually meets its end, I use the Action Card Facin Down, putting Release in face-down defense position. (DEF: 1900) My turn, draw. I normal summon my last Dwell Chair Saber. I tribute both of the ones I control to summon Throne of Darkness to my field. I activate the spell Chair Catalogue, I contol Dayu and another Throne monster, which means I can mill any 3 Chair monsters. I mill a second Bone and a second and third gear."

„Seriously, does nobody find it weird he's dueling a chair that's not even remotely chair-shaped?", Naoki wonders.

„If you knew the Goha Siblings, minor oddities like these would not perturb you.", Neil says.

"Minor oddities?"

„Expecially Swirley.", I add.

"Okay, what the hell does that part mean!?", Naoki's sanity breaks.

„I now have 8 monsters without attack points in my GY, which permits me to summons a high level monsters without ATK from my hand. I summon another Dayu. I use the unboosted one's effect to mill a card. I got the last Dwell Chair Bone, and boost him by Throne of Darkness' Level 8 times 500. (ATK: 0-4000) I use this effect with the boosted Dayu (ATK: 4000-6700) My strongest Dayu destroys the face-down Release!"

Deku jumps from his D-board, suddenly forms a lightning aura around him, kicks the d-board forward and then propels himself forward by snapping his fingers, he then catches a Card bubble while doing so and conveniently the D-board has the perfect amount of acceleration for him to land again.

"Okay, now my sanitiy is broken beyond repair.", Naoki says, "But did he really need to do this trick?"

"He had to increase his Speed to get this Action Card and didn't have any other program that, so yes.", I answer.

„I admit that this looked somewhat artistic, but It won't matter! I attack you directly with the other Dyau for an exact victory!"

„I use the Action Card Confuse Drop! His ATK is dropped by the higher one."

„It is zero then.", Sebastian grits his robotic teeth, „ I end my turn. All boosts except the one by my skill end."

Sebastian knocks Izuku out of the way, but since the next two card bubbles were close to each other, both still ended up with an Action Car

"I use my set card Vision Fusion. I banish Minimum Ray from my backrow and Witch Raider and Gravito from my hand as material! I fusion summon Vision Hero Trinity. He can attack 3 times and his ATK are doubled during the turn he is summoned. (ATK: 2500-5000)"

„I use the Action Card Converted Power, the boosted Dayu looses the ATK he once gained and I gain LP: (Sebastian LP: 4000-6700) Zerozerock guards me again."

„Ch. I set 2 cards and end my turn.", Izuku mutters, „But since Trinity's temporary boost ends and he only has 2500 ATK again, I use the Action Card Exploding Power, you take damage equal to the lost 2500 ATK. (Sebastian LP: 6700-4200)"

„My power is still well above the original amount. I draw until I have 5. I activate Chair Stacking, discarding two other copies of it to activate. I put two copies of the level 12 Dwell Chair Sleeping Master on top of my deck and add their levels to my two copies of Dayu."

„You may have your reasons to hold back, but you still have far to many 0 power normal monsters.", I say.

„Yeah, seems like kind of a stupid concept.", Naoki says.

„You are not worthy of seating on me.", he says as if that was a working insult, „I use the Dayu's effects to give them both 6000 ATK."

„I use my face-down Overworked. I destroy the Dayu's since they have increased ATK.", Izuku counters.

„I use the effect of Throne of Darkness to summon another copy of itself and that one's effect to summon the final one. I perform an XYZ SUMMON! Come forth, Ultimate Throne, reserved to the strongest rulers, Hellish Throne of Endless Comfy!"

„Nope. Still can't take those names seriously.", Naoki says.

„You are a buffoon, but absolutely correct.", I say.

„It's effect is what you should be truly terrified of. I detach one of his overlay units, to give him ATK equal to the combined DEF of all my normal monsters in my GY! (ATK: 5600)
I attack and destroy your Trinity!"

„I use Warrior's Frenzy to double his ATK! (ATK: 2500-5000 Deku LP: 3700-3100) Since I took damage, I place Minimum Ray in my backrow!"

„I end my turn. Hellish Throne loses his power and is protected by Zerozerock again."

„I draw and normal summon Vision Hero Increase. I use Xyz Trick to give him Increase's level 3."

„A countermeasure to Xyz Monsters?", Asana wonders, „I wouldn't have expected that from him."

„Now I tribute Increase to summon Minimum Ray! Since Hellish Throne of Endless Comfy now has a level lower than 5, Minumum Ray can destroy him! However, even if you were to summon something without ATK again, I use Heavy Storm to destroy your Zerozerock!
I normal sumon Poisoner and Multiply Guy and then Link Summon Xtra Hero Dead Decimator! I have 7 different Hero Monsters in my GY, so he gains 700 ATK! (ATK: 2500-3200) I attack directly with it! (Sebastian LP: 4200-1000) I end my turn."

„A turnabout like this is expected, but this won't be a deal-breaker.", Neil says.

„You have fought well, but it ends here!", Sebastian declares, „I summon Dwell Chair Soul and tribute it to summon Dwell Chair Big Pillow, which is a tuner monster. I use Swing of Memories, reviving my Soul. Time to summon the monster representing my great master!
This providence should be so glaringly obvious to all of those involved, that it is in no need of any kind of poetic overly long introduction! I tune Dwell Chair Big Pillow to Dwell Chair Soul! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Come forth, Masterful Throne of Nails (DEF: 0)"
Neil, for once, does not manage to hide his embarassment.

„That was still overly long, just not poetic.", Naoki mutters.

„I follow up with Ultimate Revival 1, I discard my entire hand to revive every one of the Dwell Chair Bone's in my GY!"

„Not sure if this is the perfect moment, but I use my Skill Healing Staff to gain 200 Life Points for every monster on the field. (Deku LP: 3100-4100) Open yourself, Circuit of Providence!"

„That would require your monster that represents your master?", I note, „Not really that respectful of him."

„Foolish fool! Master Nail's greatness isn't something that just anyone can observe in an instant!"

„That goes against your statement of it being glaringly obvious.", Asana points out.

„Uhm, the grand providence of master Neil is too much for an artificial being to handle.", Sebastian excuses himself.

„It has a GY effect.", Izuku notes.

„Yes, right! I use all of my monsters to summon Perfect Seat! I choose a monster on the field to make him 100 ATK stronger. (ATK: ?-3300) Since Masterful Throne of Nails was his material, Perfect Seat can attack one time for every normal monster in my GY!
I doubt you will be so cocky now!"

He was the only one apart from your master not to deservingly ridicule you.

„I destroy Decimator and then Decimate you with 2 more direct attacks!"

(Deku LP: 4100-4000-800; 800-3200=0)

WINNER: Sebastian

Sebastian (1000lp) vs Naoki (4000lp)

„I will step up next. I will begin by normal summoning two of my Blast Spiders. One of them blows itself up to take out your Seat. You know, without a protection effect he is not that perfect."

„Insolence.", Sebastian mutters what he presumes to be inaudibly, „Also, your Spider can only inflict damage according to the regular attack and Perfect Seat has them undefined."

„Yeah, but since I destroyed something you had, I can summon Greenhorn Blowback Dragon. I also activate the Field Spell Fusion Recycling Plant and Branch!"
Then he moves forward to get an Action Card, Sebastian rams him out of the way like a bumper car to get one first.
„I discard my Action Card for Recycling Plant's effect to add Polymerization to my hand.
I set a card. I attack you directly!"

„Ch, if this wasn't a follow-up duel, you would have lost already. Also, you did not manage to fusion summon in the first turn. This will be your downfall.", Sebastian declares.

Naoki (4000lp) vs Asana (4000lp)

I wonder what Asana's toadies think about the „Great One" dueling a buffoon.

„Let's get this over with.", Asana says and I absolutely agree with her, „I begin with my spell Maximum Excavation , I discard three monsters with the same type to add 3 new monsters to my hand. I discard the wyrm monsters Bigrollan the Mythic Void Sword Soldier, Drizard the Mythic Sword Soldier and Shovelong the Mythic Sword Soldier to add Wurm Ex-Cavator the Heavy Mequestrian Wyrm and it's L and R pieces to my hand, once I summon him, I also get to draw a crd."

„Is that the thing he was going to test?", Naoki wonders.

„Asana wasn't on his side, so no."

Obviously, I am aware of them.

„Maximum monsters can be Special Summoned from the hand once you hold all of their pieces. They take up all three of your main monster zone in this case. If you were to control monsters beforehand, you can simply send them to the GY."

„Yes. and will Maximum summon Wurm Excavator. (ATK: 3500) I place the Bigrollan from my GY below my deck to destroy Naoki's Field Spell, since I did not pick a regular backrow card I get to draw 2 cards. Then I activate Terraforming to add The Insurmountable Summit of Spectral Shangri-La, which I will activate. This grants my Wyrm monster 400 additional ATK. I should also mention that Excavator gains 300 ATK per card in my hand. (ATK: 3500-4800) Excavator, hold Naoki and his Dragon off from getting an Action Card."

In Praxis, that is far less elegant than it sounds. They both merely go to the far ends of the tracks and he occasionally levitates upwards to reveal an Action Card Bubble that she can get.

„I activate Hammer Crush, discarding the Action Card to destroy your set Polymerization.
(Wurm Excavator ATK: 4800-4500)"

„I thought that card destroys the strongest monster on the field!", Naoki complains.

„Designing that card was not within my Providence, so I assume whoever did instead forgot to verify used names.", Neil guesses.

„I set two cards. (Excavator ATK: 4500-3900)"

„Thank you for this mode not having a Main Phase 2.", Naoki sighs in relief.

„I declare an attack on Blast Spider!" (Naoki LP: 4000-1500)

She could have gone for an Action Card before declaring an attack to increase Wurm Excavator's ATK. She does a little search, with „poor" Naoki having to try his best not to be shoved off the road by the Maximum Monster. (ATK: 3900-4200)

„I end my turn.", she declares.

„I draw to five again. You see, while this Action card increases your monster's ATK by a tiny bit, if you cannot use it, you will draw fewer cards next turn.", Naoki notes.

„Because getting the correct Action Card is a significantly rare occurence.", I say.

„Indeed. Rarely do they not align with someone's providence.", Neil notes.

„Ch. I happened to draw my second Polymerization to fuse Sherrif Gatling Dragon from Desperado Barrel and Greenhorn Blowback. I set a card and use Sherrif's Effect! Since this huge thing is only one monster, I only need a single head!"

He tosses a holographic coin and two are heads.

„My Action Card can be activated now. I use Mirror Barrier to prevent the destruction from this card effect. (Excavator ATK: 4200-3900)"

„Then plan B! I attack your Excavator and discard Dark Honest! Your ATK are gone!"

„I use Reverse Trap! Since Excavator would lose all of his ATK points, he instead gains them now!", Asana counters.

As Excavator turns into a much larger creature while Sherrif Gatling slowly rams into it, Naoki does manage to grasp an incoming Action Card for once.

„The Action Card Zerofire negates this damage! Since you didn't destroy Branch, I get to revive Desperado Barrel Dragon in DEF mode. Also, Gatling allows me to search a coin tossing card! I choose Arcana Force XIV Temperance! I now use Desperado Barrel Dragon's effect to try and destroy your monster again!"

He once again, gets 2 heads. Wurm Excavator falls into pieces.

„Now I end my turn.", Naoki says with a cocky grin.

„My turn. I use my face-down Backrise! This works like Maximum Excavation, but for my GY. I discard Al-Lumi'raj, Bird of Paradise Lost and Giant Pairfish to add the pieces back to my hand."

„They are still the same type, obviously, but they appearance is far different.", Izuku comments.

„If it is for a purpose, I will gladly deviate from my usual style. I summon Wurm Excavator again. I use my Skill, Maximum Draw! Since I maximum summon for the second time, I get to draw five cards! (Excavator ATK: 5600) I use Dark Core, discarding Metaphys Armed Dragon to banish Desperado Barrel! (Excavator ATK: 5600-5000) I set three cards. (ATK: 5000-4100) and attack your directly!"

„I flip up my Proton Blast and follow up with my own Skill, Rouletter Spider, I toss a coin and if I call correctly, I can choose which effect of the original card to use, if not, you do.
Since Proton Blast will inflict damage to you for heads, I call heads."

„Proton Blast only reacts to card effects, not skills.", Asana points out.

„...", Naoki says until the digital coin conveniently shows heads, „I choose to destroy Excavator. I could have defeated you here, but I have to keep my teammates in mind."

„I can respect that attitude. I end my turn.", Asana responds.

„I draw until five and then use Double Downgrade, I discard Greenhorn Blowback Dragon
-I could also have picked Desperado Barrel- to get the original Barrel Dragon and the original Blowback Dragon to my hand. Then I use Polymerization! I fuse the monsters I added into Gatling Dragon! I set a card and attack!"

„I counter with Damage Lance! Your Dragon loses 1000 ATK and you take 1000 damage!"

(Naoki LP: 1500-500 Asana LP: 4000-2400)

„I end my turn with that.", Naoki says.

„Well, you did inflict more than 0 damage and destroyed a good monster.", I say.

„Hey, I was being considerate of you!", Naoki says.

„Actually, inflicting lethal damage to Asana would have been preferable as Neil's deck probably does not combine well with Excator other than posessing a field spell.", I say.

„Then say so first!", Naoki says.

„I thought it was a regular assumption.", I say.

„You shouldn't sabotage the communication with your own allies by pointless disrespect.", Asana says, „I draw and use Spell Regeneration, discarding another copy of my Field Spell and Pseudo Space to add Maximum Excavation to my hand."

She goes for another Action Card, but Naoki does nothing. Guess I did go overboard.
Though if Naoki is this oversensitive, then there is no point of allying with in any circumstance besides this.

„I then use my face-down Monster Reincarnation discarding the Action Card to add Bird of Paradise to my hand. Then I activate Maximum Escavation to discard him and Ryu Okami and Dragoon Lamp to add the pieces of Excavator to my hand and summon him once more!"

Then Naoki sends Gatling Dragon to shoot wildly at Excavator.

„Ah, screw it, I'm not this petty! I'll still give my all when dueling myself!"

He gets a card, but eventually, Excavator can shove Gatling Dragon out of the way, so that Asana can get a card. (ATK: 3900-4200)

„I attack Gatling Dragon!"

„I fight back with Bi-Attack! (ATK: 2600-5200)"

It was not yet damage calculation. He used it in response to the attack.

„I chain the Card, Draw! You made the mistake of using this before damage calculation. I drew Last Second Upgrade, for this battle, Excavator has ATK equal to your monster!
It also guarantees Excavator to survive the battle."

„Ah, and the rest does not look good.", Naok mutters desparately.

„Then the Maximum Mode deactivates and I get to fuse its parts! Come forth, Neo Wurm Ex-Cavator the heevier Mechequestrian Wurm 2.0 (ATK: 5000) He is unaffected by card effects, which unfortunately includes my own Field Spell. However, when he defeats an enemy, I get to destroy all cards you control. I attack Barrel Dragon!"

(Naoki LP: 500-2800=0)

WINNER: Asana

„It should be my turn to enter. Thank you for clearing Naoki's remaining dirt."

Zephyrine (4000lp) vs Asana (2400lp)

„As I read your monster's text, I can see it also makes monster zones uninhabitable, unless you give up 3000 ATK. It seems Mutsuba City's Version of Fusion is still as limited as Goha's. Meanwhile my City can even conduct other Dimension's summoning methods if it wishes to."

„I do not care for the false humility of your nameless hometown.", she answers coldly.

„I proceed. I normal summon the Faunacea's Antidotphin, Theriakoala and Elixierat. I use the non-Dotphins to Link Summon Windblade Dragon, who loses 1600 ATK due to being summoned with 2 non-Synchro monsters. (ATK: 2600-1000 Markers: Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right) Since being uses as summoning material causes my 2 monster's effects to miss timing, I can utilize Antidotphin's effect to increase its level to 9."

„Wait, missing the timing? What's that?", Naoki says.

„I think Severin mentioned it to me.", Izuku says, „Their effects say when you can. That means, if something else happens after they hit the GY, they cannot use their effects."

„Eh, who is supposed to remember something like that?", Naoki mutters, „And to think there is an entire deck around this."

He should see my counterpart's decks. My deck's concept is atleast easy to describe.

„I then activate Faunacea Cleansing, I send Antidotphin to the GY to summon a monster 3 levels higher. I summon the level 12 Faunacea Herbakeneko (ATK: 4300)"

„Not enough to defeat Excavator 2.0, so I assume the final card will help to achieve that?", Neil wonders.

„I could use that one. But why not try my luck first?", I say.

Seeing a giant monster cat wrestle a giant machine to the sidelines is even more bizarre than you think, then, since these two giants don't disturb our Action Card gathering, I order Wind Blade to send Razor-Like gusts of Winds towards Asana.
She dodges, but at the cost of me getting the first bubble.

„Ch, I guess I use Wind Blade's effect first, From my deck, I reveal Healiger, Xanaxolotl, and Detoxyranno. First, you choose to put one of them to the GY. Which one shall it be?"

„The other one gets chosen by her, like the whole collection. If like Master Neil, she is just as incredibly intelligent as she thinks she is, there will be no way to create a disadvantageous, mill.", Sebastian says.

„Did you insult your master by accident?", Naoki wonders.

„He did not. Cockiness is not within my providence, but cockiness and awareness of extraordinary capabilities is not the same and I will prove those words once my turn to duel has arrived.", Neil answers.

„Healiger's effect to immunize one of your monsters would miss timing, while his other effects only activates from the hand. I will assume that the remaining card in your hands will be more likely to gather one from the deck than it will recover Healiger from the GY, so Healiger will enter the GY."

„I will mill Detoxyranno. Then Windblade is boosted by Xanaxolotl's ATK. (ATK: 1000-3600) Then I activate my Faunacea Zoo, boosting my Faunacea's by 400. (Herbakeneko ATK: 4300-4700) Since an effect already missed timing this turn, my Zoo gives me a monster. I normal summon Faunacea Nootriopsic. (ATK: 100-500) This one allows me to send one Faunacea monster to the GY to boost another one by 1000. I use Nootriopsic itself and boost Herbakeneko (ATK: 4700-5700)"

Before I use Herbakeneko's effect, I send the monstrous Cat into another scuffle with the weird construction machine to see If my luck with Action Cards continues. I obtain Wonder Chance.

„I use Herbakeneko's effect to take the effect of a Faunacea in my GY! I take Detoxyranno's effect, which in turn copies the effect of Overdosing, which then adds 2 trap cards of my archetype to my hand. I choose Nocebo and Withheld Cure. I set both cards and move to the battle phase. I attack your Fusion Monster!"

Unfortunately, while she can't let her giant monster dodge, it's too big to maneuver around, meaning I can't prevent her from getting an Action Card.

„I use my Action Card Miracle, this will save Excavator 2.0 and halve the battle damage!"

(Asana LP: 2400-2050)

„However, it only protects your monster for a single battle, not the whole turn. I use Wonder Chance to get a second strike at you!" (Asana LP: 2050-1350)

It seems while the this-time-lethal scuffle happened, she obtained another Action Card a moment too late. She may survive, but her ace is gone once more.

„I attack directly with Windblade!"

„I use Avoid to survive another turn!", Asana counters.

„Fine, you get another turn.", I say.

„I draw and summong 2 copies of Shovelong."

„I flip up Faunacea Nocebo, I shuffle one Faunacea into my deck and then mill another! I put Nootriopsic into my deck and mill Healiger! With Healiger entering the GY, I can grant immunity to all card effects to Herbakeneko. And in case you forgot, the boost by Nootriopsic's effect is permanent."

„I proceed by tributing both Shovelongs to summon Build Dragon and use Build Dragon's effect to revive Metaphys Armed Dragon."

„She still hasn't used Withheld Cure.", Naoki notes.

„Her only sacrifice is Herbakeneko, which has a lot of ATK and is immune to effects, I wonder what kind of power a card effect would need to force out Withheld Cure.", Izuku notes.

„I then use Galaxy Queen's Light to grant my Armed Dragon the level 8 that Shovelong has. Then I overlay them!"

„That is a suprise. I admit, I did heavily underestimate you.", I say.

„It still sounds like a VERY backhanded compliment.", Izuku mutters.

„I summon Mythic Sword Blacksmith. (ATK: 3000) I detach one overlay unit to revive Bigrollan from my GY and get two more from my deck. Then I activate the spell Union Attack, which adds each of their 1900 attack points to Blacksmith, (ATK: 3000-8700) but at the cost of only him being able to attack and being unable to deal damage, will you negate this time?"

„No. I'm feeling lucky.", I say, and I race for an Action Card.

My Cat manages to scare away the smaller monsters, considering that Union Attack places most of the value on simply destroying by battle, Me getting the right Action Card would be a problem, so she sends the Swordsman to block my path instead of defeating Herbakeneko.
Despite acting very dignified, she is still a young kid. She manages to get a card and still tries to block my path with that Blacksmith creature. If only I had my tools.

„To attack Herbakeneko, you have to send out the Smith of my path. Which opens the path for me to get my suprising help.", I note.

„Yes. Blacksmith, attack Herbakeneko!", she declares.

As soon as she does this, I obtain my card.

„I use Takeover Action to steal your card. Oh, and what is this? Tenacity prevents my only monster from being destroyed."

„I suppose I have to end my turn then.", Asana grits her teeth.

„In my turn, I re-use Windblade's effect, I reveal Band-Aiduck, Xanaxolotl, Faunacea Azofox, however, I combine this with my own skill, Faunacea Trip, this turn my Faunacea effects don't miss timing. Now, choose carefully."

„ I sent Band-Aiduck.", she says.

„Then I will send Azofox. Xanaxolotl, will return into deck and boost Windblade again. (ATK: 3600-6200) Band Aiduck then shuffles your Blacksmith into your deck. Azofox now allows my Herbakeneko to keep attacking until it stops destroying monsters, but I doubt I will need it at all."

She tries to get an Action Card, but I feel lucky again and let her, before there is a secret Action Trap that punishes my overuse.

„I set 2 cards and 2 monsters. I take down one of your side monsters with my Windblade."

(Asana LP: 2400-4300)

WINNER: Zephyrine

Zephyrine (4000lp) vs Neil (4000lp)

„She managed it without losing LP of her own. And she has a monster with over 4000 ATK and a full field.", Izuku mutters.

„Neil can send my remaining monsters to the GY to Maximum Summon, they will be of no hindrance to him.", Asana counters.

„That childish attempt at showing off, won't intimidate me. As Asana stated, I send her remaining monsters to the GY to Maximum Summon Super Magiflap Ship Magnum Over Road. (ATK: 3500)"

„Not even a whole load of searches like usually?", I scoff.

„Simplicity is-"

„Providence. We all know.", I retort.

„Also, he just drew lucky.", Naoki adds.

„You're agreeing on something?", Izuku wonders.

„I proceed with the first effect, I trade the top 2 cards from my Extra Deck and 1000 ATK for the ability to attack every monster you control. Then I use its other effects to shuffle the Yggdrago left piece into the deck, and add centerpiece to my hand. It is a level 10 monster, so you will take 1000 points of damage in total. (Zephyrine LP: 4000-3000) I use my own skill, Neo Maximum Providence."

Silence as we don't make the obvious joke about Neil.

„I suppose you wisened up. I banish the recovered piece in my hand, the one in my deck and the right one, which never left it. Once you manage to destroy this Maximum Monster, my original creation will enter the field. I set a card and equip the Ship with Moon Mirror Shield, he will no exceed every monster by exactly one hundred attack whenever he battles. I enter the Battle Phase and attack Herbakeneko"

„I flip up Faunacea Side Effect and Mystic Wok, I release my face-down monster, Faunacea Sideritick, I gain 1000 LP for its 1000 DEF (Zephyrine LP: 3000-4000) It's effect misses timing this way, allowing Side Effect to negate your attack."

„I attack your other face-down monster then.", Neil continues.

„It is another Sideritick. Since the first one's timing missed, this one can reverse the outcome of this battle, meaning your flappy whatever is destroyed and replaced by Yggdrago."

(Neil LP: 4000-3900)

„I pay 500 Life Points to add Moon Mirror Shield to the top of my deck. (Neil LP: 3900-3400) I will pass the turn to you."

„My turn again and since nothing missed timing yet, I add a spell from my deck to my hand. I get another Cleansing and use it on Sideritick to transform this level 3 monster into the level 6 Balmanegishi. (ATK: 2400) An effect missed timing, meaning this one allows my monsters to attack directly this turn. I then use the effect of Windblade-"

„Which I will negate with Solemn Strike. (Neil LP: 3400-2600)"

„Fine, I will summon Pillobster without tribut since something missed timing. I activate Copy Tribute, discarding another Pillobster to allow this one to be treated as two tributes. I tribute Pillobster to summon Xanaxolotl (ATK: 2800) I use his effect to negate the powers of Yggdrago. Then I use Double Star Drop, to reduce Xanalolotl's level to 6. For once, I will conduct a regular Synchro Summon and NOT a transformation summon! I tune Balmannegishi and Xanaxolotl! SYNCHRO SUMMON! Grand World Serpent Arrive, Level 12, Faunacea Jormunganepenthe! (ATK: 5500-5900)"

It was a giant Snake, with small plants sprouting from its scales, thankfully the room was virtual, so it could adjust its size so that this wouldn't look ridiculous.

„Wa-wa-wah!?", Naoki gasps, „Even more than Dragon Master Knight and Five-Headed Dragon!"

„Now I use its effect to draw 3 cards and discard 2 in any order! I choose to draw first. No GY effects from this, but don't celebrate just yet. I use my face-down Magical Planter, taking away Side Effect to draw 2 cards, putting me at 5 again."

Neil let's his Yggdrago fight my Jormunganepenthe, while this is irrelevant from the regular gameplay, I have to admit, that Yggdrago's flames are distracting enough, so that he could gather an Action Card.

„I use Power Unleashing. I can now use Yggdrago's effect to send the top 3 cards to my graveyard and destroy one monster you control. I destroy your Herbakeneko."

„Herbakeneko can just revive itself. At least you didn't choose Jormunganepenthe, or I could've restored some of my quick-plays."

„That was not within my Providence. Look at the last card that entered my cemetery. Angstron can banish itself while I control a Maximum Monster to negate all enemy effects.
Herbakeneko's abillity to imitate has become useless."

„To think this would become a fight between World Serpent and World Tree...", Asana muttered.

„Indeed. It's quite suprising, considering their decks are very detached from Norse Mythology.", Izuku mutters.

„I proceed with Monster Reincarnation discarding a copy of itself to add a Pillobster to my hand. I can still summon him without tribute.", I continue, „I also normal summon Faunacea Syringe Scorpion. I use my final Monster Reincarnation, discarding a second copy of Faunacea Side Effects to get back Detoxyranno."

„It seems the Norse Angel Hamingja did not decide to bless you.", Sebastian taunts.

„Oh, it's not perfect, but sufficient. I tribute Syringe Scorpion and Pillobster to summon Detoxyranno."

„I banish the second card I milled with Yggdrago. Gigtron allows me to double Yggdrago's ATK, putting it at 8000."

„A pity it cannot be used in response to an attack.", Asana states.

„Then I use Detoxyranno's effect to mill and copy the power of Overdosing, which adds 2 copies of Withheld Cure to my hand. I set both and pass the turn to you.
It is also a pity that Gigtron only lasts a single turn and that the first card you milled was Moon Mirror Shield."

„That could not be forseen. I would not incorporate random chance like this into my providence, but if it arises it has to be utilized.", Neil responds.

„Okay, now you're not talking smart, you're just trying to be weird.", Naoki mutters.

„Why do I have to agree with you a second time?", I mutter.

Should I hope that this wasn't the second time? If it was, I either would have hallucinated a second time agreeing with him, or if this was actually the third or more, I would have agreed with him more than two times. It seems impossible to even choose a smaller evil.

„My turn. I use Minimize, in exchange for deactivating Yggdrago's Maximum Mode, I draw 3 cards."

„Not wanting to mill anything? I let you.", I say.

„Are you sure that that is the better option?", Izuku wonders.

„Yes.", I say.

„Then allow me to prove your cockiness unfounded. I use Fusion to-"

„Oh, I will negate this one. I regrettably sacrifice Jorgumanepenthe to negate this. But now I am able to use Detoxyranno's effect as Jormunganepenthe's effect to add up to 3 Faunacea quick-play spells from GY or banished pile to my hand missed timing."

„Fusion is not the only way to increase Yggdrago's power. Providence can arrive in many forms. I activate Galaxy Queen's Light, I target the main body of Yggdrago, which is level 10, now his left and right head also have that level.
Then I use these three monsters to construct the overlay network! XYZ SUMMON! Dragnarok the Hellish Tyrant Drake Root Network (ATK: 5000) You cannot negate him with trap cards, as he is immune to them. Then I detach one of his overlay units to destroy the other face-down Withheld Cure and mill three cards from your deck, whilst preventing you from using their powers!"

„But I am still able to use Detoxyranno. I mill Nocebo, who then shuffles Syringe Scorpion to my deck and mills Placeboar. When this one enters the GY, I get to take all of one of your monsters ATK! Too bad that he is only immune to trap cards not to the effects of monsters milled by trap cards.", I counter.

„Dragnarok's raw power might be able to defeat your Herbakenko, but to win the entire duel, I cannot follow the obvious and simplistic path. I activate Rank Down Magic Providence Fall! Creation, Destruction, Hell, Heaven, Rise and Fall! Let only remain that which is essential to victory, show me the one true providence! RANK DOWN XYZ CHANGE! Come forth, Midgardrago the Earthly King Wyvern Sprout! (ATK: 500) This monster IS completely unaffected, even to monster and spell cards. Not to skills, but you already used up yours. I detach one overlay unit from Midgardrago to attach every monster stronger than Midgardrago as material to him."

„That should be a certain comeback.", Asana says, „But I doubt this will be an immediate victory."

„Of course not, Neil-Sama isn't content with one impressive move in a battle, he takes his time to win the whole war."

„I then activate Maximum Supply. I banish the 2 sets of Maximum Monsters to add a new set to my hand. As Midgardrago is in the Extra Monster zone I do not have to send him to the GYto make way for the original Overroad. Then I set 3 cards."

I still have a giant monster cat and a dinosaur, which can tussle with his monsters, even if they're big. Unfortunately, Midgardrago's beam of Light can somehow hit through creatures.

(Zephyrine LP: 4000-3500)

But that only enables both monsters to annoy the hell out of Overroad. I let another bubble fall into my grasp.

„I will be using Avoid on the hypothetical attack of Overroad."

„Then I will pass the turn to you again.", Neil says.

„You may not be able to go the simplistic part, but I am. I destroy Overroad with Raigeki."

„I use my face-down trap Multronplication, which allows to fill Overroad's former zones with 3 copies of Picock Hightron. I choose to summon them in defense position of course."

„I then normal summon Elixierrat, which has 1400 ATK if you remember. I set 2 more cards. I at least can destroy your Midgardrago with this. (Neil LP: 2600-1700) I end my turn then. Unfortunately, the monters formerly attached will miss timing now."

„Now Master Neil has the undeniable advantage!", Sebastian boasts, „This tiny amount of damage ultimately means nothing."

„My turn, I activate Resurrectron, this revives Midgardrago into the Extra Monster Zone, and attaches itself as an overlay unit, then I detac Resurrectron to attach all other monsters on the field as overlay unit. Then I activate Reinforced Space, he gains 300 ATK for each of 4 overlay units he rises to 1700 ATK, with a second copy he rises to 2900 ATK. Since I control a Cyberse monster, I can use Particle Acceleration to destroy one of your face-down cards."

„I use Threatening Roar, so don't even try any Action Cards to boost the damn thing further."

„I set a turn. You barely took damage, but you are indeed on the defensive now.", Neil points out.

„My turn. I fortunately drew Magical Mallet, I reshuffle my whole hand to get something better."

"I use Reconstructron, discarding Picock Hightron from my hand to replace my entire field for a new set of backrow. I set Forbidden Droplet, Drowning Mirror Force and Trap Dustshoot. I can activate all the traps and quick-play spells in the same turn, then I activate Trap Dustshoot, now we all can see your hand and shuffle one monster among it back into your deck."

„I have Faunacea Quick Remedy, Plasterattlesnake, Curegg, Athelasnail and a second Plasterattlesnake."

„I return the second Plasterrattlesnake.", Neil chooses.

"I use Quick Remedy, as I control no cards, I can conduct a transformation summon out of thin air.", I proceed.

"At least for this card, you literally need very thin air.", Naoki says.

"Even with my perfect memory, I'm starting to forget that they were on the same team.", Sebastian says.

"The maximum level is 5 and I summon Fauncea Ointmentengu, this monster's effect mills one Faunacea monster to boost my LP and its ATK by the milled monster's.
I choose Xanaxolotl, making the gain 2600. (Zephyrine LP: 3500-6100) Then I normal summon the three monster's I just showed you.
Since an effect missed timing this turn, the rattlesnake can take out your backrow."

Neil then decides to finally cheat a little, by activating an Action Card Magnet.

"You were powerful enough to force my hand. You did target Forbidden Droplet as opposed to Drowning Mirror Force, I discard the Action Card to negate the powers of Athelasnail and halve its ATK. That only changes 400 into 200, but its 'Acient Gear'-esque ability cannot prevent me from using Drowning Mirror Force."

"I am going to attack into your Drowning Mirror Force anyway.", I decide.

"I still use it.", Neil counters.

"Why would she do that?", Izuku questions.

"She most likely fears neil summoning something like Flagship Overroad again.", Asana points out.

"Oh right, I should've used notes.", Izuku says sheepishly, "Why don't I have them on me now?"

Obviously I still try to get an Action Card myself. Neil doesn't seem like he wants to use the cheat magnet unless its really dire.

"Do you not have any tools similar to maste Neil's magnet?", Sebastian questions.

"Yes, but this situation isn't worth using them.", I say, "I'm only here to see your stuff not to share mine."

I get an Action Card, but sadly it is an Overpass. How pitiful that I have to rely on his misfortune now. I pass over to Neil.

"My turn, draw. I set a card and normal summon Femtron and Cycliptron. Then I activate Fusion to Fusion summon Permylind Hicrotron. (ATK: 2600) I use his effect, since I pass the minimum of 3 Cyberse monsters in my GY. I draw 2 cards and put one to the bottom of my deck. I attack you directly."

(Zephyrine LP: 6100-3500)

"I then use the quick-play spell De-Fusion, putting Hicrotron into my Extra Deck again and reviving Femtron in ATK mode and Cycliptron in defense (DEF: 1500)
I attack you directly with Femtron."

(Zephyrine LP: 3500-2100)

"That ends my turn."

"So, you've made somewhat of a turnaround and could deal with my strongest monsters, but don't think I am one to quit. I use Pot of Greed and normal summon 2 more of Plasterratlesnake."

"She can break the banlist? We should have that too!", Naoki exclaims.

"I use Mystical Space Typhoon on your face-down card.", I declare.

"It is flash Fusion, which combines my monsters into Hicrotron, but destroys it in the End Phase."

"I attack my first Snake into Hicrotron and use Overpass to swap our power!"

Unfortunately, he still has the stupid magnet.

"I happen to have my own Overpass, which means that you still take the damage." (Zephyrine LP: 2100-900)

"But this time, my monster's effect does not miss timing, I can summon a level 7 or lower Faunacea from my Extra Deck for free, I choose to summon Potionmoraki, who with 2800 ATK, can defeat your Fusion Monster. (Neil LP: 1700-1500) Then I attack your directly with the other Snake. (Neil LP: 1500-100) That is it for my turn.", I say.

"My turn, draw.", Neil says, "Down to the last play, I expected nothing else from you. But for the finale, I will do something simplistic. I will Maximum Summon Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan."

I let both of my monster's harrass this thing.

"Asana has already destroyed your Field Spell, so his left Arms effect will be useless."

I could verify the other arms effect, but he will explain when he uses it. Too bad I can't accelerate furhter and we have a dry spell of card bubbles now. Yes I said that sentence just now.

"His right arm can weaken your Potionmoraki by 100 ATK per his level and inflict that much damage to you. (ATK: 2800-2100 Zephyrine LP: 900-200)"

I get a card.

"I use Zero Penalty, your monster's ATK is gone!", I declare.

"Meaningless. I activate the Spell Card 10sion MAX! This requires me to discard the other card in my hand and boosts Vulcan by 400 and allows him to deal piercing damage. But those effects are obviously just as meaningless. The important part is, that if this level is used on a level 10 monster, you take 1000 points of damage."

(Zephyrine LP: 200-1000=0)

WINNER: Neil

"Was using the right effect of Vast Vulcan really necessary?", Naoki wonders.

"Yes, he had to be prepared for any kind of useful Action Card.", Izuku says.

"The Data gained was very useful. You have my greatest of gratitudes.", Neil says.

"I still wanna know what he was trying to get from this duel.", Naoki mutters.

"Is it connected to the UTS?", I ask.

"How do you know that?", Neil asks coldly.

"What? Not impressed at my smarts?", I ask.

"Oh, I am still impressed.", Neil says, "But you are treading dangerous waters. Stay careful or stay out."

The next special will be: Skylar from LinariteLavania's Infinitas, Yukio from Dvdryms Fifth Factor, Nico Bessho one of my old Danganronpa OCs vs Starve Venom, Clear Wing and Dark Rebellion

This will also be the first time I write a Special in a Linkless format AND with 8000 Life Points.

To reiterate, characters from GO Rush will have their first chance of appearance in the 7th annual, even if by the point of me announcing it several shows have met their end.

This one was still fun to write, despite all the buffing needed, especially for Neil, since most of his deck was just a big search engine.
