The chapter opens when Cassandra, a survivor of the Japanese massacre, celebrates her 16th birthday. She shows up with Miss May and Dr. Laura who were setting up a birthday cake.
"Happy birthday, Cassandra." said Dr. Laura.
Cassandra was quiet at the minute.
"Well?" asked Miss May.
"Fine. I'm leaving." said Cassandra.
She leaves the house. Her boyfriend named Zack is sitting at the exit. The kiss causes the light to explode and lose consciousness. At the headquarters, Cassandra is at the infirmary.
"Cassandra just kissed her boyfriend and now, she lost consciousness." said Meicoomon.
Cassandra wakes up.
"I have to go to the forest." said Cassandra.
Just before she is sedated by Dr. Laura, lights flicker. At the briefing room, Ferrel and his men discuss about Cassandra's condition. Jack turns on the TV and shows his men a disturbing imagery depicting a woman coughing up blood. Later, Ferrel and his men enter the outskirts of the forest surrounded by cherry blossoms. Alex finds several decomposing donkeys. As Jack touches the index finger, the wood catches fire. Alex and Ferrel transport to the ship.
"Miss May, Jack, Sam, Pete?" asked Ferrel.
The rest of the men teleport to the lab second.
"We are at the Goa'uld laboratory." said Meicoomon.
"It means that this place is all that's left in this deserted city." said Jack.
"Following a massacre." said Meicoomon.
At the infirmary, Dr. Laura goes to the bed only to discover that Cassandra is missing.
"Cassandra?!" cried Dr. Laura.
Dr. Laura sees Cassandra walking like a mutant. Casssandra then angrily blows up the lights.
"Guys, we have a problem, sir." said Hammond.
"It's Cassandra." said Miss May.
Miss May and Dr. Laura along with Hammond see Cassandra lying motionlessly in bed.
"She wants to go back to the city." said Miss May.
"The city where the massacre takes place… started by purgers, you said?" asked Dr. Laura.
"Yes." said Miss May.
Still at the lab, Ferrel and his men, except Miss May take out the remains including weapons and bombs. They teleport the weapons to the headquarters. At the infirmary, Cassandra is still hospitalized. Miss May learns that Dr. Laura is not Cassandra's biological mother. She then picks up the piece of chess and places it on her hand.
"It's a Saturday and we are playing a game of chess." said Miss May.
At the briefing room, Ferrel and his men see Cassandra's activity. Shoutmon drinks a soda.
"That tastes good." said Shoutmon.
"Shoutmon! Cassandra is what we are dealing with, not sodas." said Alex.
The conversation continues.
"Let's find the answers to the cure. Dismissed." said Hammond.
At the infirmary, Cassandra stares at the chess. As Dr. Laura touches the chess, it burns her hands. The argument ends after Dr. Laura walks away from Cassandra. At the lab, Miss May and Dr. Laura figure out how to cure Cassandra. They walk away before the computer turns off itself. At Cassandra's room, she is still hospitalized with a piece of chess moving around the grid.
"I know you want some company." said Miss May. "You can't sleep because of the problem with the virus."
Dr. Laura is finished with the work. The actual person who is responsible for the powers appears. Dr. Laura goes to the same room and found a woman, who was snooping.
"No…" said Dr. Laura. "That must be Cassandra."
Before she talks to Miss May, the alarm goes off. Miss May summons Palmon.
"That must be the Goa'uld." said Palmon.
"We must kill the Goa'uld to get rid of the virus." said Miss May.
Miss May and her men find the Goa'uld throughout the headquarters. Ferrel accompanies Cassandra in the infirmary. Ferrel shoots the invisible man in the leg. It's the same person who was snooping. This causes Cassandra to have a seizure. At the room, the Goa'uld is actually the woman named Kiku, who is tied up under SG-1 custody. Jack and Dr. Laura talk. She then visits Cassandra.
"I have to get back to Cassandra." said Dr. Laura.
"That's okay." said Jack.
Cassandra is having a seizure right before she is sedated.
"It's not working." said Dr. Laura.
"The Goa'uld is causing her to have seizures." said Meicoomon.
At the briefing room, Meicoomon, Ferrel and his men are talking to Hammond.
"We are not negotiating with terrorists, sir." said Miss May.
Meanwhile, Dr. Laura enter the same room where Kiku is in custody. She stabs the guard in the neck with a pen before freeing Kiku with a gun.
"Hammond, to the room, now." said the speaker.
At the room, Kiku is surrounded with gun-wielding guns. Still at the infirmary, Kiku learns that she is Cassandra's biological mother. Kiku tries to do a surgery. The surgery ends. Dr. Laura and Miss May wake up Cassandra.
"Let's get her home." said Miss May.
"Yes, ma'am. said Ferrel.
At the embarkation room, the gate activates with Kiku entering. Later at the infirmary, Cassandra is recovering with Meicoomon and Ferrel entertaining her. She is then being sent home with her adoptive parents.
