Alexander didn't like it, but he did check in on Tharja and he felt his heart crash as he took in her shaking form, nothing that she could have done with her hexes and curses could have caused this state as Lissa spoke to his arrival. "I don't know what happened, she was doing just fine, but the next moment, she collapsed and looked like she was fighting something off."
"It just happened?" Alexander inquired as Lissa nodded as she explained with Libra and Maribelle doing what they can as well, but the healing and cures did little in fixing the issue.
"Whatever it is, it is draining her like some bug and keeps coming back like a rash, we are trying, Alexander, but at this rate, our staves will run out and..." Alexander closed his eyes in understanding the issue as she stepped to the side. "Take your time..." He nodded as he took to Tharja's side and lifted up her exhausted hand as she spoke.
"A-Alex..."
"Tharja, you are going to be okay..." A bitter chuckle filled the tent as Amirg took the chance to look into it and find out what was causing the decline in health.
"You and I both know that this is not something you can just c-cure..." She panted with a wheeze. "My own careless action let this happen, so I can run it out, I need to..." But Alex held on as she spoke. "It's funny... Now that I am right here, feeling like death is carving me up... I really was bitter and cruel to everyone else, haven't I..." She started to tampered out and Alexander felt her coming to rest as the healers worked before he placed her hand on the bed and headed out, Chrom lingered at the tent flap as he spoke.
"You know where to go...?"
"The Shrine of Naga..." Alexander voiced as his eyes started to blaze blue. "Whoever is there is trying to drain her of her life and, in close range of a powerful, magical artifact, it has the pull to do worse things."
"Just so you are aware..." Alexander let the energy fade as he turned to his close friend as he spoke. "The townsfolk spoke of those ruins, but one place in general is crawling with Risen, so you will be going in alone in taking care of whatever is causing this and obtain the 'supposed' treasure the old-fashioned way." Chrom folded his arms in the cold. "The company are growing tired, so we will be making for Port Ferox soon, whether or not you are with us, I could..."
"No, Chrom, take them to the Port, get them rested up." Alexander turned and pinged for the location that Amirg himself pinpointed to be where the source of the drain was coming from and it was the same place as the ancient power. "I will be done very quickly." He whistled and Sothe charged out before Alexander jumped on and rode as Chrom breathed with trust and a smirk.
"I suspect as much, you thieving tactician..."
"Footsteps!" A female Dark Mage voiced as she held a tome in hand for any trouble, but considering the creatures now stirring to her presence, she could only wish for a secondary weapon to protect herself. "...Probably not friendly. And likely more down those stairs..." Her short black hair the same shine as someone else as she grimaced. "Think, Morgan, think! How would Dad handle this?" No sooner had she said that, that she heard the trample of hooves and watched with awe as a rider charged into the ruins that surrounded her, but the more prominent feature was a dark violet, or rather blue coat of a tactician or grandmaster as he spell slung like a true power and her heart pounded in glee as she knew what had come as the Risen started to fall to this being's power as he spoke.
"Don't stand in my way, else you will feel the fury of a husband enraged." The revived dead didn't heed as they charged as Alexander groaned. "Why did I think that was going to work..." With swift control, Elfire breathed in his palms before he barraged the ranks and even obtain the treasures being taken before he spotted the unusual person involved and spoke. "You... don't look like a treasure hunter. What brings you here?"
"There you are, Father! I was beginning to think we got separated." Sothe glanced to Alexander with a surprised glance as the Grandmaster raised a brow before both looked at the young and joyful Dark Mage.
"...I'm sorry, what?"
"Well, no harm done. At least we can head home now." The girl narrowed her eyes before she exclaimed again. "...Goodness, the air here agrees with you! You look a decade younger, at least." Alexander was not going to react to that so quickly as he looked to his arm and spoke.
"Amirg." Before the girl could ask, Amirg surged out and before she could yelp, Amirg plowed into her in entering her body, her eyes widened in surprise before she gasped in coming free as Amirg spoke to Alexander.
"She's not from Lucina's time, she's actually displaced herself and has a nasty case of amnesia, but nothing of it was terrible, rather she took too hard a knock and all her memories are gone, she only remembers you."
"That's a minor problem, but we can deal with it later." Alexander turned to the toppled girl and offered a hand. "Mind telling me who you are, to be honest."
"I'm... I'm..." She blinked before she spoke again with clarity. "I'm Morgana or just... Morgan." She took the hand and was lifted up as she spoke. "I... knew someone by the name of Lucina, a friend, but something's wrong, I came from a weird place, not some ruined future..." Alexander let her take her time as he blasted away the Risen. "Am I... Was I just..." Alexander jumped off and rested his hands on her cheeks and she seemed to breathe a bit better as he spoke.
"Easy—don't try to force it! Just stay calm and listen to me." She nodded as he spoke. "I know this sounds mad, but I believe that you came here from the future, like a few others that the Shepherds are currently hosting as well."
"Are you out of your mind? That's not even possible!"
"Actually, it is. Think about it. You said I looked younger, but look again. Closely." She blinked in doing so as the older visage faded to a younger face of Alexander as he spoke. "Do I look like I'm of an age where I could have a child as old as you? At this point in time, in OUR time, you still haven't been born." Morgan looked near ready to drop, but she kept her posture up.
"Y-you do look younger, but..."
"It's hard, I know. And you don't have to believe me right this minute." The hand fell to her shoulders as he spoke. "But you must come with me. It's dangerous alone, especially if your memory is gone. I was in the same position once, you know. If Chrom hadn't found me lying in that field, who knows what would've happened to me..." That got a reaction as she beamed with some common ground.
"Wait, you woke up in the middle of a field, too? Hah! Like father, like daughter, huh? Oh, that's too funny!"
"...Glad to see you inherited my blithe outlook. Just try to stay close, will you?" Alexander sighed as Morgan quickly agreed with a smile.
"Yes, sir!" They proceed on and it was clear that the Risen also had the objective of killing Morgan if the sudden shift to Morgan was any truth, but Alexander was just as protective of Morgan as he was for Noire as that awe in Morgan increased as he slashed and swung with not a bit of blood or skin falling on the steel sword and the creatures fell as the chief of a Griffon Rider spoke.
"Must kill... future... child..."
"Over my fallen body, Risen." With that and the aid of Sothe, Alexander clashed and smite the Chieftain down, a flux of energy pulsing as Morgan looked to find her father trotting over to a intact stand and lifted up a teal teardrop object from the spot.
"This object... it must be a Naga's Tear, said to have been shed for the manakete who have lost their senses to draconic greed, said to have the power to restore the lost to their senses and ferry them back into humanity."
"I... have read about it once..." Morgan spoke as she took the stone as well. "It is said to cure any illness and lift any curse, but..." She turned with Alexander taking the Tear back gently and storing it. "Why did you come alone, I thought..."
"Chrom gave me permission to hunt it down and retrieve it for the sake of my wife." He mounted back up as he spoke. "We are to meet once more at Port Ferox, the war with Valm is coming to these eastern shores." He offered a hand as he spoke. "Since we are together and I would be a terrible parent to leave you here, do you want to join the Shepherds...?" Morgan looked at the extended hand and beamed as she took it.
"Okay!" With that, he pulled her up and settled her in front of him as they rode away from the ruins...
On the route to the Port, Alexander explained what they knew of the situation and Morgan took it in as she spoke with them coming form the colder weather and to a more mild setting in the Port. "That's... still a lot to take in."
"It's everything we know about the situation at this point." Morgan hummed as she glumly spoke.
"The future I came from is in ruins... You're sure about that?"
"One possible future is in ruins, yes, and it seems that the Risen were set on the same path." Alexander spoke as he assured her. "But you may indeed hail from another path, one that Lucina and the others had no idea of knowing about prior. We're fighting now to ensure that no one's future is lost. Unfortunately, if you join us, it'll mean more fighting for you, too."
"I understand... I'm sorry, but even after hearing all that, I still don't remember anything, but you." Alex released one of the reins and gave Morgan a small hug as he spoke to her leaning into it.
"Don't apologize. We'll pull your memory back bit by bit if we have to. Besides, if you start apologizing, I'll have to as well. My past is still full of holes, but I'm getting along. And you will too."
"As long as you're with me, the rest will work itself out. Now, come on! We've got a future that needs saving!"
"Hah! You really do take after me." Alexander mused as Morgan continued.
"You know, now that you mention it... There is one other thing I remember."
"What's that?"
"I've always strived to be a great tactician like you. And even though this war is terrible, at least now I can learn from you firsthand."
"Well, you're nothing if not optimistic..." Alexander took a moment to take in the cloak and it was actually the old cloak, his tactician cloak and she donned it like a young pupil to the march. "Wherever or whenever you came from, I'm glad you made it here, Morgan."
"Me too!" They came to a stop as the company took notice and Alex pulled out the Tear as Morgan inquired. "Will that really help my mother?"
"It will, we have done the research and now, we will put it into practice, now stay close to me." She nodded as they headed in and Chrom was wordless as he nodded and the healers parted to Alexander holding the Tear before resting it on Tharja's pale hands and the effects were true as the Tear faded, but Tharja started to breath once more with life as her eyes flared open and Alexander took her hand as she looked with tiredness before a snort.
"I get a powerful spell cast on me and you come back with another daughter behind you...?" She chuckled as Alexander ran a hand through her bangs. "Well, we have time, my love, think you can give me an introduction?"
"Of course, but she will not be as easy to know, she does have amnesia." The Shepherds in the room lightly groaned as Morgan blinked in confusion as to why that could be groaned playfully like that.
