Shosuke's Bizarre Adventure

My apologies for the late update. An unexpected situation happened in which my laptop developed a problem and subsequently CRASHED, and though I was able to save my files, the fanfics that I last saved were corrupted, and while the fanfics I've typed were among those saved, 50% of the progress was affected, hence I had to restart working on the chapters, hence I was unable to meet the deadline which the next update was supposed to be the last week of March.
So now I'm working on the next chapters and if this fic gets a review, I will have the next update ready. Now that I finished my explanation…time to get down to business…
Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story advances as Shosuke is about to get embroiled in a situation that no one would expect, thus putting himself and others in danger.

Ch. 2: Yoki senu deai
A few minutes later, the scene shifts at a town, which is STILL bustling with people, as many are walking and loitering around, shops filled with shoppers whilst restaurants are catering hungry patrons, some are dining in and others ordering take-outs.
Some shops are selling clothes and there are banks accommodating customers who wish to deposit their money while others are transacting, such as opening new accounts and withdrawing money from their ATM cards.
The scene shifts to other areas where shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.
"Hey!"
"Nice day, isn't it?"
"Today is a good day..."
"I love my job..."
"Life is so good..."
"I wish I have a good day..."
"Lots of money..."
"Lots of girls..."
The scene later shifts to a certain area, where you can see that the stranger who bumped into Shosuke several minutes ago, is being cornered by men wearing hats and trench coats, and are armed with brass knuckles and other blunt weapons, and they seemed to be after something and demanded to the stranger where he kept the ITEM.
The stranger feigned innocence, as he appeared to be determined not to reveal it as he seem to know what would happen and has no intention of revealing the fact that he hid the ITEMS on a bag of a passing by high school student he intentionally bumped, and made an alibi by saying that he lost it, which did little to deter the interrogators.
The leader of the men in hats and trench coats was not amused and told his men to beat him up until he confesses, which the men nodded in acknowledgement, as they willingly comply with the command.
"Yes, sir!"

The men in hats and trench coats took turns in beating up the man using brass knuckles and the lead pipes, hurting him enough to make him beg for mercy, and the leader hoped that the man would beg for mercy and would comply by revealing where the ITEMS are, but then an unexpected situation arises, as the man appeared to suffer a heart attack, but the men I hats and trench coats seemingly didn't care as they kept on beating him.
Even one of the men struck the man on the head with the lead pipe and repeatedly struck him until the leader stopped him as he noticed that the man went still and stopped moving, and he became displeased after checking him, seeing that the man has died, and thus he and his men now have no leads on where the ITEMS went to.
Suddenly he saw a black-colored SUV approaching, and he told his men to retreat, sensing that trouble is about to brew and confronting them is not a viable option and facing them is not a good choice, and the men in hats and trench coats nodded in acknowledgement.
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"

"Yes, sir!"
As the men in hats and trench coats fled and managed to make a clean getaway, the SUV arrived and parked, and out came men in black-colored, full-body SWAT-like uniforms, and sporting helmets that resembled the heads of BLACK ANTS, and approached the fallen man and attempted to revive him using CPR and other first aid treatment, but we're unable to revive him.
One of the men brought out a radio and tells someone that the man they found is the one who stole the ITEMS but is found dead, having been beaten up to death but the ITEMS are not in his possession, and the other person told the SWAT-like member to bring the body back and to headquarters, which the SWAT-like member nodded, there he told the others the orders they are going to take the body and they nodded in acknowledgement.
"Yes, sir!"
"Yes, sir!"

At the Komi residence, the scene shifts at his bedroom, where Shosuke was in the midst of unloading his bag and there he discovered a box which he wondered how it got inside and wondered if the man who bumped into him earlier is behind this, but out of curiosity he checked it out and opened the box, revealing what appeared to be a metallic belt which has a strange slot on the buckle portion of the belt.
He then saw an instruction manual and read it, though he seemed uninterested and puts the box down while glancing at the metallic belt, wondering what to do with it, as he felt that it is nothing significant, but then his mom, Shuko, entered his room and tells him that dinner is ready.
"Oh, Shosuke…"
"…"
"Come on down…"
"…"
"The food is ready…!"
"…"
"Your dad and Shoko are waiting…"
"…"
As Shosuke went out of his bedroom, neither he or Shuko noticed that the hand-sized mechanical beetle is hovering outside the bedroom window, and is observing Shosuke for a few minutes before finding that the window is slightly opened and it went inside before hiding underneath Shosuke's bed.

The scene shifts at what appeared to be a corporate building, where some people are seen assembled inside a corporate room, and you can see that the people assembled consists of a two adults and two young-adults, and they are in a heated debate regarding the events earlier, where it is revealed that the people in this room were the ones who ordered the SWAT-like troopers to find the man, and though the man was found, he was already dead and found nothing that would provide a lead to where the stolen ITEMS went.
The two young-adults appeared to be in their 20s, and consists of a woman and a man. The woman has neck-length brown hair that has two braids tied on either side in the back with square bangs hanging on the left side and chocolate-brown eyes.
She usually wears a secretary-like outfit but in rare appearances she is seen in more skimpy outfits that show off her body.
The other is a skinny yet tall, pale man with his black hair styled into a short bob cut with straight bangs and is often seen wearing a pair of black framed eye glasses, black jeans with a belt and a black shirt with a tassle on his neck.
This person appeared to have a rather cold personality, in which at first glance, he appeared to be an ambitious and overly confident man; Beneath that ambition however, is something even more sinister as he puts the emphasis in "ego" as he is shown to be an extremely egotistical, cruel, and self-serving man, seeing teamwork and putting your teammates before yourself to the equivalent of being "second-rate." He never wastes an opportunity to tell his players the cold truth about themselves and their reality, either seeping them into further despair or inspiring them with his cold hearted truth
The other two are adults, one appeared to be in his late 40s, which is shown that he is quite fat and has white hair though he is bald on the top, and the other is in his 30s, and both men are dressed in a professional attire wearing a black blazer, white dress shirt with black pants, and shoes.
The people assembled here are identified as:
- Anri Teieri
- Jinpaichi Ego
- Hirotoshi Buratsuta
- Yasumori Houichi
The four people appeared to be locked in a heated debate, as it turns out that they are in charge of a secret organization that appeared to be funded by the government, as the government is assembling a secret task force to combat a threat that would threaten Japan as a whole.
Ego and Anri were concerned that one of the planned ITEMS were stolen last night and that they are still in an experimental stage, and it would be disastrous if the government finds out and this would make them doubt the organization and might consider defunding it, which may lead to the disbanding the organization.
However, Buratsuta appeared to be unconcerned as he felt that he can still receive a FAT PAYCHECK from the government despite the situation this organization is facing at the moment, and even Houichi feels the same, as both men are money-oriented and there Houichi suggested that they resort to Plan B, which Anri stared in disbelief, asking him if he is serious about what he said.
"Houichi!"
"What?"
"Do you know what you're suggesting?"
"Yup."
"This isn't the…"
"For me it is…"
"You idiot!"
"Whatever…"
Buratsuta yawned nonchalantly and said that anything would be fine as long as the stolen ITEMS are found and retrieved, which she appear to be against it as she felt that it is too early, but Ego adjusted his eyeglasses and coldly, but hesitantly, acknowledge that this is something it cannot be helped as they need to address this situation before any government entity notice this and said that he is in favor of what Houichi suggested and he will have it MOBILIZED at once.
Anri stared in disbelief and asked Ego if he is sure about this, which he nodded and said that if the stolen ITEMS are found and in the hands of MALEVOLENT individuals, then the organization has no recourse but to take THAT course, which Anri was silent as Houichi clapped his hands and says that it has been decided and he will make preparations to MOBILIZE everything tomorrow morning, while Buratsuta is staring lewdly at Anri's chest, and she glared at the man and began hitting him with a folder.
"Buratsuta!"
"Whoa!"
"Why are you staring at my chest?"
"Um…uh…you see… I have POOR EYESIGHT…yeah that's it."
"I can't believe that you're such a DIRTY OLD MAN…"
"Hey, I'm not! At least I have a strong SEX APPEAL…"
"You hentai!"
"Ho-ho-ho…"

The next morning, Shosuke is getting ready for school, and for some reason his leather belt got broken and finds out that he lacked a spare one and he is wondering about borrowing one from his dad, Masayoshi, but then he glanced at the box and opened it, where the metallic belt is still there, and he silently glanced at it before deciding to use it as a temporary belt and planned to buy an ordinary belt after school.
There he hurriedly left the Komi residence as he chose not to wait for Shoko, and as he is leaving, he came across Tadano, who greeted Shosuke, but the latter just nodded and went on his way, and as he meets with Shoko, both teens blinked their eyes as they saw the metallic beetle flew off towards Shosuke's direction, and this made her wonder if what she saw is a new breed of insects, which Tadano asked if she is worried about Shosuke being stalked by a large insect.
"Um…are you worried, Komi-san?"
"Nod, nod…"
"I'm sure that your brother will be okay…"
"Worried stare…"
"Its fine. Shosuke-kun can take care of himself."
"Nod, nod…"
"Lets go, Komi-san."
"Nod, nod…"
As Tadano and Komi set off to Itan High School, the scene shows that Shosuke is on his way to Kasai High School, where Hitomi Tadano came and greeted him, as the two are in the same class as they are first year students. However, Shosuke chose to ignore her despite her pestering him.
"Hey, Shosuke-kun!"
"…"
"How are you today?"
"…"
"Did you and Shoko-senpai got into a fight?"
"…"
"Hey, lighten up…"
"…"
Suddenly, a red-colored SUV showed up and blocked Shosuke's path, and out came men in hats and trench coats and one of them brought out a device and it shows that a tracer was attached onto the metallic belt that Shosuke is wearing, and there one of the men in hats and trench coats demanded that Shosuke surrender the belt and the other ITEM, which Shosuke just stare at them nonchalantly.
"You!"
"..."
"Give us that belt!"
"…"
"And the other item! We know you have them!"
"…"
"Surrender them now or you'll regret it!"
"…"
Hitomi became concerned and worried seeing that the men in hats and trench coats appeared to have some MALEVOLENT INTENTION towards her classmate and braces herself as she is going to protect him, not knowing that Shosuke is also capable of defending himself, as the men in hats and trench coats are told by their team leader to kill the two teens and take the metallic belt by any means necessary and anyone who interfere, which the men in hats and trench coats roared in acknowledgement.
"Yes, sir!"

Hope you liked this chapter, as things are quite peaceful…save for a few scenes of violence as the person who intentionally bumped into Shosuke was tortured before succumbing to a cardiac arrest. This is an instant of a possible encounter with the antagonists of this fic.
Since Komi Can't Communicate is a slice of life manga/anime, it lacks a villain group or allied organization, hence I borrowed a group of characters from another manga series. Yup, the four characters you read earlier are from the manga called Blue Lock, which is a soccer-themed series, and I came across the manga by accident.
That manga was announced to get an anime adaptation within this year, and after reading the first few chapters of Blue Lock I was able to conceive a potential plot device that would affect the lives of the Komi Can't Communicate characters.
And now Shosuke and Hitomi are about to get into a situation…as the antagonists of this fic are picking on them…
