Hero Academia: Fatal Fury

First off: belated happy New Year and welcome to 2022. Last month I said that this fic will be ready by the end of January, but for a reason it ended up getting delayed, in which I won't make any excuses. It is because I caught the COVID despite getting vaccinated, and I believe that I have gotten the Omicron variant. Thankfully I managed to recover while isolating myself inside my house but as a result working on this and my other fanfics slowed down, hence the late update of this fic.
Now that I finished my explanation…time to get down to business…
Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here Midoriya's road to becoming a pro hero commences…but also would led to an eventual encounter with the man who killed his dad…

Ch. 3: Kangae rareru kyōi
Several weeks have passed, and Midoriya's life changed since receiving the One For All Quirk from All Might, as he is now a student at UA Academy and is learning the ropes of how to control his Quirk, as well as studying the lessons like other regular high schools, and so far things are okay as he endured the slight hardships, such as getting ambushed by the League Of Villains at the USJ.
Since Midoriya still has difficulty in controlling the One For All Quirk, he has injured himself when using the Quirk, but in doing so he saved his classmates, and yet it earned him some scolding from UA Academy's resident nurse, Recovery Girl, telling him to always be careful and find another way to use his Quirk without injuring himself.
While alone, Recovery Girl tells All Might that she is worried about Midoriya, saying that she suspect that Midoriya might be harboring vengeful feelings and might use UA Academy as a reason for him to try getting back against Geese Howard, though All Might believe that Midoriya wouldn't act so petty just for that.
"Do not worry. Midoriya-shounen would not resort to that kind of reasoning."
"Are you sure about that…?"
"Yeah. I'm sure of it."
"I don't know. In a few weeks from now would be the 10th anniversary of his dad's death…and I'm worried that…"
"I believe in that boy…his actions during the entrance exams are proof of it."
"Well…"
"I'll see to it that Midoriya-shounen won't steer to the wrong path…"
"Okay…"
Meanwhile at the teachers' lounge, Aizawa was checking some files on the computer that were compiled for the last several years, and this included solved cases, unresolved cases and even cold cases, which Aizawa sighed as he is not quite interested in those kind of things. He felt that this would be under the jurisdiction of several hero agencies and that they should be the ones to solve whatever cases they are assigned to.
As Aizawa scrolled the files he came across a news article which shows that Geese Howard was exonerated from the charges while the Midoriya family is charged for the following charges, which are:
- Perjury
- Libel
- Slander
Present Mic peered behind Aizawa and said that he had a feeling that Midoriya might use the upcoming internship to find and hunt down Geese Howard, stating that Midoriya probably holds a grudge given that he is the sole witness to the murder of his dad and that Geese somehow managed to get away with the crime.
"You know, Aizawa…"
"…"
"Its just a gut feeling of mine…"
"Hmm…?"
"That Midoriya…he might have an ulterior motive…and with the internship coming right after the Sports Festival…"
"I get it."
"You do…?"
"Yeah."
Aizawa thought carefully as he felt that Present Mic may have a point, but believe that Midoriya isn't someone who would do something shallow or petty like seeking revenge, and tells Present Mic that Midoriya would not do something drastic or reckless, which Present Mic asked if this is the case.
"Do not worry. Midoriya is not the kind of kid who would do something this petty."
"Are you sure about that…? There's no telling…"
"I'm sure of it. Midoriya wouldn't act like a vengeful problem child."
"I don't know. I checked the calendar a while ago and found out that in a few weeks from now would be the 10th anniversary of Hisashi Midoriya's death…and I get the faint feeling that…"
"I believe in the boy…he has the qualities of being a pro hero. He won't do anything that would put himself in danger."
"Well…if that's the case…"
"I'll keep an eye on him. And make sure he doesn't take the wrong path…"
"Okay…"
Nearby, Cementoss and Thirteen overheard the discussion and they too felt that Midoriya might get consumed by vengeance given how his testimony was rejected despite his accurate description and yet he ended up being branded a liar, and the two teachers felt that they should consult Nezu about this, fearing that Midoriya might give in to his vengeful desire and become a ruthless vigilante.
"We should ask the principal for advise…"
"I agree. Midoriya is still too young…"
"And there's the possibility that he might let his emotions dictate his actions."
"I agree. The internship is just around the corner. Midoriya might use that as an opportunity to hunt down Geese Howard."
"You're right. We got to move and talk to Nezu."
"Okay."
"Lets go."
"Right."

Several weeks later, it was announced via social media that UA Academy will host this year's Sports Festival, in which it will feature first year students, and this attracted considerable attention as last year's event featured second year students, which was well-received by spectators and even pro heroes who watched the events live via TV.
This attracted the attention of reporters from various TV and radio stations and are eager to cover the upcoming event as this could be exciting as they would get to see first year students competing for the first time, as well as to see what Quirks they possess and how this would factor in on becoming pro heroes.
Moreover, the reporters are excited to cover the event live because it would be a ratings spectacular as several pro heroes would be there to provide security as well as scouting students for potential internship, though they wondered if All Might would be present and whether he is working at a hero agency since they felt that the Number One hero is not suited to be a teacher at UA Academy.
"You think All Might would be there?"
"I'm sure of it…"
"Me too…"
"So he's going to be there…"
"But why work at UA as a teacher…?"
"He's better off working at Nighteye's agency…"
"Yeah…"
"True…"
Nevertheless, many netizens expressed excitement as they would get to see what this year's Sports Festival would offer as it would feature many first timers who are first year students and what can they do to win the event, and what programs would this year's event, whether it would be the same or would UA Academy implement new ones.
"Oh boy…"
"Wow…"
"First year students…"
"Interesting…"
"I'm going to watch it…"
"Exciting…"
"This is going to be fun…"
"Yeah…"

The scene shifts at Naruhata, where the city appeared prosperous, as the next scene shifts at the central business district, which is bustling with people, as many are walking and loitering around, shops filled with shoppers whilst restaurants are catering hungry patrons, some are dining in and others ordering take-outs.
Some shops are selling clothes and there are banks accommodating customers who wish to deposit their money while others are transacting, such as opening new accounts and withdrawing money from their ATM cards.
The scene shifts to other areas where shops are open and the merchants are selling their merchandise and are enticing people to buy them in hopes of earning money. It was a typical day and it seems that people today are lively and felt that their lives are full of blessings and couldn't ask for anything more, as some are happy with stable jobs, students studying in the best schools, and more, and some even chatted with one another feeling that today is a good day.
"Hey!"
"Nice day, isn't it?"
"Today is a good day..."
"I love my job..."
"Life is so good..."
"I wish I have a good day..."
"Lots of money..."
"Lots of girls..."
The scene later shifts to a certain area, where business is thriving the area is frequently being besieged by customers which are a mix of adults and teenagers, and they appeared to be avid collectors, as they are looking and buying second-hand items which are technological in nature, and their reasons for patronizing the said shops are purely economical in nature - cheaper prices and practicality.
You can see several shops selling HOT items for cheaper prices, such as smartphones, android tablets and even laptops, and despite being second-hand items, they appeared to be in good working conditions, and some of the customers are willing to buy them as long as their desired items are working fine as well as to save money for budgetary reasons, and the merchants are using subtle means in enticing passing customers.
"Hello...please by our items..."
"They are cheaper..."
"...they are in good working condition..."
"You can try them if you like..."
"I promise you will like them..."
"I promise you will get your money's worth..."
"Here are the items on our display..."
"Pick the one you like..."
The area is thriving and many merchants set up shops to attract passing customers and entice them to buy their products by showing the items and offered cheaper prices while assuring them that the items are in good working condition, and their marketing strategy worked as some passing customers were intrigued after hearing that so e gadgets are being sold in cheaper prices, and they began asking the merchants what items do they sell, and the merchants showed to the customers the items they are selling, ranging from smartphones to android tablets and even laptops.
The next scene shifts towards a high-rise corporate building, where a well-known wealthy businessman is working, and the scene zoomed inside until reaching the penultimate top floor where you can see the businessman working and securing numerous business deals and transactions, which were successful as he acquired rival businesses and drove rival ones into bankruptcy.
The businessman turns out to be Geese Howard, and he is as busy as ever, while outside Geese's office, his right-hand man is seen looking at a laptop monitor, and this man appeared to be British, as he appeared to be of European descent, and sports a bandana on his head which has the design of the Union Jack flag.
He is identified as Billy Kane, and minutes ago he accidentally overheard some employees talking about the upcoming UA Academy Sports Festival, and this made him curious as he has been hearing about this for the past few days, and this prompted him to summon a hacker and requested to him to find a way to download the first year students of UA Academy as he felt that something might happen in the future as UA is known for producing pro heroes and some hero agencies in Naruhata might bring some UA students here.
After a few minutes the hacker download the database of the UA Academy first year students, and doing a quick search, Billy stared wide-eyed in disbelief and he took the laptop and barges into Geese's office, and the businessman is quite surprised at seeing his right-hand man acting a bit reckless, but is taken aback as Billy tells Geese to forego any business activities for now and focus on the upcoming UA Academy Sports Festival.
"What…?"
"You heard me…"
"Spending the next day watching a worthless hero school featuring students in sports activities? Not worth my time…"
"This time it is…and you'll be involved."
"How so, Billy?"
"Because someone who gave you a headache a decade ago is a student at UA Academy...and you know who the kid is…"
"Wait…what…? Are you saying…?"
"Here...check it out…"
Geese was taken aback when shown the database of the first year students of UA Academy, and saw Midoriya's profile, and he is baffled by the fact that the young Midoriya is a student there, which Billy said that from what they know Midoriya is Quirkless, yet he became a student of UA Academy, as that school only accept students who possess a Quirk.
"Izuku Midoriya…how…?"
"I wanted to dismiss this…but from what we know, the kid is Quirkless...yet he is enrolled at UA Academy…"
"But that school only accept students with Quirk..."
"Precisely, boss. That brat has no Quirk, but not only is he a student…he is a first year and will be among the participants."
"…"
"If he do have a Quirk...when did he get one and when did it manifested? What type of Quirk does the kid have? Boss...you'll have to watch it…it'll determine what we should do from this point on…"
"…"
"Boss…"
Geese sensed that Billy is right to be worried, as he knows that Midoriya is Quirkless and thus he can't do anything, but due to the fact that the boy is a student at UA Academy, then this made Geese wonder how the young Midoriya gain a Quirk, and when did it manifest as there were no indications.
Geese tells Billy to mark the calendar and remind him of the live telecast of the upcoming UA Academy Sports Festival, saying that he will watch it and see if Midoriya do have a Quirk and see what type the boy possess, as the moment he sees what kind of Quirk Midoriya possess, he will judge whether the boy would be deemed a threat or not, and whether he should be assassinated or not.
"That will be your assignment, Billy."
"Got it, boss."
"Put an alarm reminder on your phone."
"Okay."
"We got to watch that Sports Festival. We have to know if that Midoriya brat has a Quirk."
"Got it."
"And once we determined it…then we can plan out."
"Right."

Hope you liked this chapter, as it is sort of a retelling of the MHA plot taking place between seasons 1 and 2, but with a twist as Billy Kane (from Fatal Fury 1) discovered that Izuku is a student at UA Academy, and tells Geese about it and now they are going to watch the UA Academy Sports Festival to see if Midoriya has a Quirk and that would determine what steps they would take…
