Lullabies in the desert

Seto cursed at the horrible sound of his dear cousin singing; if one could even call that singing.

For the entire trip journey, he had to withstand the horrid screeching voice of his cousin as he attempted to sing to his daughter.

It didn't help that his niece would laugh at her father's lullabies while clapping her hands.

"Again! Again!" she would repeat, and he would obey her requests.

Unlike Seto, who wanted to say, "Enough. Enough."

"Are we almost there yet?" Seto whispered through gritted teeth.

Mahad smirked, noticing Seto's frown.

"By sundown, we'll have arrived," Mahad answered.

Seto's frown deepened.

"Oh, cheer up, Seto. In the meantime, enjoy the scenery." Mahad teased.

Seto glared at him.

What scenery? The endless scorching desert or the repulsing sight of his cousin singing?

"Fine, be like that," Mahad shrugged.

To Seto's horror, Mahad turned to face the Pharaoh and began to sing.

Seto almost cried at that moment.

The sun was still up and shining, meaning sundown wasn't near soon.
