"I hope she's okay as it is her first day at school, nobody better be mean to her, pull her tail or they'll be sorry!" Linda mumured to herself.
She'd awoken a little bit after Shocket had left for her first-ever day of school, makimg the female duckling worry for her best friend and soil ate, adjusting her hair into it's trademark bun using chopsticks, which she and Shocket had seen online, hearing her dad call her for breakfast, as he had decided with Shocket trying school, it was time to start her detective training, makimg her excitable especially recieving tools from her dad.
"I can't wait to show her, when she gets back." she said makijg Howard smirk at her, knowing she was worrying about Shocket seeing her drinking tea which Linda preferred, remembering a few days ago, Shocket going nuts after her first taste of coffee smiling at the memory, putting her dishes in the sink leaving with her dad for the day
Meanwhile, Shocket was following Rocket to the third-grade room, noticing that she was quiet and nervous, wondering how the other kids would treat her, would they be welcoming to somebody like her, would they be mean and call her names, she was not sure, seeing they were at the classroom door, makimg Rocket stop, before knocking on the door with his paw seeing her looking through the glass at the other kids who looked like they were having fun.
"It's alright kiddo, it's overwhelming, but you'll be okay, most of us are friendly and anybody is mean, your teacher will know what to do." Rocket assured her, feeling her hug his leg, makijg him emotional, strokimg his brown-furred and beaded beard, which she thought was cool, like her mohawk taking a deep breath, seeing him knocking gently on the door with a paw, as not to distract the students who got excitable, when he or the other adults showed up.
"Vice-dean Rocket, is everything okay, is somebody in trouble?" Sif asked.
"No, no nothing like that, but I do have an new student for your class." he said.
"Awww, I thought we'd go on a field-trip!" Magni said.
A look from Sif made the class quiten down, so they could listen and welcome this newcomer, seeing Shocket step out from behind Rocket's back, makimg them impressed, especially Casey, that her cousin had decided to come, knowing this was a big deal not just for her uncle, also Shocket since she and Linda never did this stuff, hearing her cousin telling the class about herself, what she felt like saying with her eyes closed.
"Awww don't worry, you'll feel welcome in no time, you can sit beside Casey." Sif said softly.
Shocket then shyly sat at a table beside that kit from the other day, listening to the teacher, intrested in what they were learning, stunning Casey until they heard the fire alarms makijg the kids excitable for the break, only Shocket was terrified, the ringing bells, everybody was going berserk, laughing and screaming which made her furry ears hurt, her furry body was shaky with the tip pf her mohawk standing on top, scampering out of the room, seeing her dad directing kids outside, noticing fire extingusher web-fluid in his beard, covering his own furry ears.
"W-why is it so crazy, why do I feel like this?" she said sniffling when they were in the playground.
"We'll talk in my office, once we can go back inside, sweetie." Rocket assured her.
She was stunned, seeing a bright-red truck with flashing lights and loud, which was makimg it worse for her, seeing the kids excited and cheering which Casey noticed seeing Billy and Tommy high-five each other, shakimg her furry head, guessing they had pulled the alarm seeimg Shocket sitting under a shady tree, curled into a furry ball, feeling bad for her, it was her first day ever yet terrified letting uncle Rocket help, seeing the adults talkijg with both her uncle, and the dean, Carol Danvers.
"False alarm, everybody back inside, but pullimg the fire alarm is not funny, alright?" Carol said.
"Yes, Ms Danvers!" the grades said going back inside, Shocket too.
"Let's go calm down, we need it after that." Rocket said to her.
He led her to his office across from Carol's, decorated like outer space, and had succelents which reminded him of Groot, having a plush of him on the desk that was weighted to help his anxiety, pickijg it up gently, hugging it gently, seeing Shocket smile a little seeing a plush of him, grabbing it and hugging it near her heart, makimg tears sting Rocket's eyes, knowing she was loving him being her dad, knowing how touchy that subject was for her, sayimg she could have it, seeing her put it in her backpack.
"Thanks daddy, I feel better, but hungry, really hungry." she told him.
"It is almost linchtime, you know?" he told her.
"Shocket you there, Terra calling Shocket, you listening?" Linda asked.
It was late afternoon/early evening andin their room whileShocket was doing homework at the desk andfocusing intently, Linda was telling, ortrying to tell herabout her day of detective training, wanting to show thefemale kit herdetectivestuff just asShocket startedclosingher eyes after finishing and putting her homework away, a sign shewasreally exhausted after a longday and doing homework making the femaleduck feel bad, coming overto her.
"Sorry, Ducky, I'm all yours now, whatdidyou wanna show me?" Shocket saidyawning.
"It canwait until later, school must be toigh, if it makes you thistired." Linda replied.
She and Shocket were lyingon their bed, withLinda listening and commenting as Shocket told heraboutschool, that some things were a little crazy yet most things were fun, yawning feeling like she neededan nap to recharge, feeling Linda kiss her seeing her zone out hearing Howard say thatdinner was ready, seeing Linda motion to bequiet, which hegot seeing Shocketasleep, with the Rocketp,ush in herfurry litlearms.
"We'll save food for her, plus uncleRocket is here." he said.
"You hear that, your dad's here, I'll tell him you're asleep." Linda whispered to Shocket.
She followedher dad into the kitchen, seeing Rocket dividing portions oftakeout into bowls wondering whereShocket was, hearing Lindatell him, that she wassleeping seeing him go into herandShocket'sroom seeing his little girl asleep, leavingherbe, deciding to ask Howardto letLinda attend classesat Avengers Campis, knowing Shocketwould lovethis, seeing Howard nod but Linda gasped, shedidn't havesuperpowers making Rocket chuckle, at her thinking.
"Thatdon't matter, a lot ofstudents attendfrom all walks of life, even those thatdon'thavepowers, we even are letting Halfworlder kids in." he replied to her seeing herdeciding to try, so shecouldsee why Shocketwas enjoyingit, feelinganxious deciding to tell Shocketlaterwhen shewasmore awake seeing her dad filling in thepaperwork with Rocket's help.
"Shockie's going to beso happy, seeing you there." Howard toldher.
"I can still bea detectiveapprentice?" Linda asked him.
"Yep, we can do itafterschool and weekends." Howardsaid.
This relievedher, seeing Shocket join them, seeing Linda hugher alomg withher dad makingthe female kit giggle seeingRocket grin as there wasa bead in her mohawk, whichhad theAvengers emblem as she wasinspired by her dad's beaded beard, which Rocketfoundadorable, saying he was proud ofher, how she hadaced her first day ofschool, despite a few bumps, seeinghereyes wide, hearingLinda wasjoiningher, seeingherjumping up anddown excitedly.
"This isso awesome, plus your birthday's comingup!" she toldLinda.
