Chapter 20

Diavolo was hard pressed to not agree to anything she asked while looking up at him like that. He was quick to shift his glance to Barbatos who stood to his left, ever quiet yet ever attendant. Barbatos stepped forward, gaining the attention of those in the room. "While I'm sure you would like to return home I would advise against it...the first summoning didn't go according to plan so we have no idea what would happen should we have to do it again."

Kagome frowned but nodded at his logic. "True, next time I might show up naked..." She laughed at her own joke, missing the light flush that dusted the cheeks of the males in the room. "Well, I can at least write a letter, yes? That shouldn't be too hard for you to get to them with your level of interdimensional magic." Barbatos blinked, surprised she could pick up on his magic despite how deep he had buried it, though he shouldn't be surprised she was chosen to be his lord's bride to be for a reason.

"Of course my lady." Kagome scrunched her nose up at the title. "Please, just Kagome is fine. Ms. Kagome if you're going to be a stickler about titles and what not." She blinked as Daivolo let out another round of laughter.

"Ah my friend it would seem she has you pegged." Barbatos could only smile but nod. "Of course Ms. Kagome. Just give me the letter whenever you are done with it and I shall make sure it gets there." He paused yet continued deciding to make his offer. "If you would like, you can make a list of things for me to bring back? Though that means I would have to rummage through your belongings..." He trailed off knowing that such a thing made most females anxious and uncomfortable.

Kagome blinked at the offer but smiled as she nodded. "Oh please! I don't care if you go through my stuff. It's just stuff but some of it is very dear to me and would bring me comfort to have down here." He nodded as he refilled her cup with more tea. "Of course Ms. Kagome. I'll do my best."

Kagome nodded her head in thanks before turning to glance back at Lucifer, tilting her head at him. "So when do I get to 'meet' your brothers? I'm excited to see how much they've changed!"

Lucifer was hard pressed to not let out a sigh, wondering how shocked she would be to see what his brothers had become compared to how she remembered them. "I can send them a text now to meet us in the main hall of the house. It's almost time for them to leave for classes anyways..." He glanced at Diavolo wanting his opinion and permission.

Diavolo blinked, he hadn't realized it had gotten so late...damn he would have to leave for classes as well, prince or not he had an image to maintain and a status quo to upkeep. "Ah, yes...I hadn't realized it was so late. Once you introduce her to your brothers, help her get settled in. I'll explain to the teachers why you're absent for the day. As well as explain that Kagome will begin her classes in the next few days. There's still a lot of paperwork to file..." He trailed off, mentally making a list of all the files and what not he would have to have Barbatos get from her human school so they knew what level of education she should be started out at. Perhaps he could even get said records from her mother while he was in the human realm, since their first search of her ended with her first year of middle school.

Lucifer nodded as he pulled out his DDD quickly sending out a message to assemble via one of their text threads. Message sent, letting them know it wasn't an optional gathering he shoved the device back into his pocket as he stood. "Understood, well Kagome, shall we?"

Kagome smiled as she stood, casting Diavolo a thankful smile. "I guess I'll see you later, have a good day." With that she followed Lucifer out the door, missing the way his lips split into a happy grin at her words.

This year was going to be fun!
