Someone has kept a close eye on Selendrile for more than a thousand years, someone he was once close to. Who is she and why can't she approach him? A short one-shot for Dragon's Bait that Terasa and I came up with.

Alys and Selendrile meet, only this time Alys doesn't want revenge. So something more than a hate-driven goal keeps her and Selendrile together. Part of my Card Deck challenge!

Dragons do not get along too well with witches. Fortunately for Selendrile, he did not find a witch on the stake, just Alys. But his cousin, Drashim is not so lucky, he finds Clairit. A witch hunting down a dragon to get her sister, Alys, back.

Companion fic to "River Reflections" Little does Alys know, she's stumbled upon Selendrile's resting spot by the river. Being the devious dragon he is, Selendrile stays in hiding to spy on her.

A few years later, Alys still travels the world with Selendrile. Left to her own devices as usual in the day, Alys fumes over some rather sweet dreams that have yet to be reality.

Selendrile does lie, or rather omits very important information. A subtle danger is growing closer, and Alys can only speculate to what it might be. It seems girls with revenge in their hearts are very prone to have dragons approach them.

As he had swooped in to save her, he told himself that he only did so because she’d already saved him. Selendrile told himself it was all because he owed Alys a favor. But when he asked her to stay with him, he knew he was wrong.

Alys had assumed that having a dragon as a travelling companion would be difficult, that they would argue non-stop or that he would eventually eat her when she began to annoy him, but as it turned out she was wrong.
