Once Bronze entered the cold rift, he was immediately separated from Tess. He was flying through a space that made no sense, his trajectory changing with every rocky island that floated about. Water flowed up, then down. Islands burst, and reformed. Things got farther away upon approaching them, and far larger then normal. Other people and Pokémon were also scattered about, trying to get some sense of reality in a place without it.

Eventually, Bronze hit a island, and was finally able to standup. Apparently, the floating landforms in the void acted as a anchor, with gravity becoming relative to each one and the way its 'top' was facing.

Two others hit the island beside him, and Bronze saw that it was Wikstrom and a boy he never seen before. Getting up, Bronze tried not to vomit when he saw people on islands around the void, upside down or sideways to his perspective.

"Young master Bronze!" Wikstrom said. "We will get that scoundrel yet! But we must organize our forces if we are to take arms against the fleet of that devil Cypress."

"Its no use." The boy pointed to his Poketech. "Communications don't work in this place. We'll have to group with whoever we can see. Does anybody have a Pokémon that can fly?" Wikstrom sent out his Probobass. "We should be able to levitate to other islands, although I think we only have room for two."

The blond teen looked crestfallen. "That will be a issue. We can't strand anyone of us here...maybe...perhaps..." He pulled out a neon-blue cube, and set it on the ground. "You both might want to step back. If this goes wrong, then we may need to evacuate."

The cube rattled for a bit, and then exploded into light with a bang. Some blue haze appeared around a shimmering gateway, which spread to the height of a grown person. A very pale humanoid appeared inside the portal, waving away the smoke.

"I am surprised that actually worked..." The boy waved to the person in the gateway. "Phyco! Glaidon here. We have need of you." Phyco fully stepped out of the portal. "I told you not to use that device unless totally necessary!" Phyco looked around and stepped back. "Um, where are we, exactly? It almost looks like Ultra Space, but...wrong." Three other people walked out of the portal as well.

"Hello, Gladion!" The shortest one said. "You brought others to this strange place? We should show manners, I suppose. Our names are Phyco, Zossie, Dulse, and Solieria! Together, we form the Ultra Recon Squad, and will defend this world and ours from any threats that may arise! What is happening here, anyway?"

"Lets just get to it," Gladion said. "This world is in danger, and the normal world with it. We need to be able to travel through distorted space quickly. Can you get us to these aircraft?" Gladion projected a holo-image of Cypress's fleet.

Phyco rubbed his pale skin. "Well...it will be hard, but I think I should be able to create a wormhole. Don't expect perfect results in a place like this. Everyone! Get ready..."

The four members sent out some Pokémon that Bronze had never seen before, and the Pokedex didn't recognize. They used their tendrils to create a hole in the air, through which the fleet could be seen moving.

"Okay, its ready. Don't touch the edges, or you'll get shocked. We ought to get back now, if that's all we can do to help." Gladion nodded, and stepped through the portal with Bronze and Wikstrom, who want in obvious discomfort from his armor touching the sides.

Stepping onto the new island, the fleet was already moving away. Bronze started running, but Gladion grabbed his arm. "We can't take on all that by ourselves! We just have to wait and see what they have planned before we make our move."

A roar from near the distant rift echoed throughout the staticky air, announcing that Rayquaza had now joined the fight. Bronze hadn't noticed it before, but one of the only rules of the Distoriton World was that everything centered around the rift. Space curved around it, preventing any thing from going behind it, only through it. The entirety of the Distortion World could be accessed quite easily, if one had the ability to navigate it.

A gigantic bulk appeared in the distance, infront of the gunship. The creature seemed to give the air some kind of stability, and allowed people to see it clearly, along with the things around it.

Cypress flew on Kyurems back toward it, and was having some sort of conversation. The dragon seemed to disagree with what he was saying, but Cypress ordered all of his cannons and grunts to fire on it.

The noise must have alerted the entire Distortion World to the position of the fleet, and the dragon slumped in midair. Seemingly relenting to Cypress's demands, space curved away, revealing a new set of islands in the distance, with one gigantic one with a massive building on it, just barely visible. The fleet continued flying toward the large island, blasting smaller ones out of the way.

Bronze and his companions floated form island to island, trying to keep up with the ship, wherever it would go.

Tess was flying with Charizard, but saw that Bronze had been detached upon entering the Distortion World. She flew down to a island, and tried to see what was happening.

She was still very close to the rift, so much that she could see people coming in through it and being separated, flying randomly through the void. Cypress's fleet could just barely be glimpsed firing at a giant Pokémon, and the distortion lessened around them as new islands appeared.

"Is your name Tess? I am sorry that we couldn't meet on happier terms." Tess turned to the source of the voice, and saw Professor Sycamore and Wallace, along with a inhumanly tall man with a Floette.

"Yes, it is. But who is your...tall friend here?" Sycamore turned, and jumped. "What...AZ? How in the world did you get here?"

AZ looked up at the sea of islands. "I do not know. I was travelling the wilds of Kalos, when a voice compelled me to protect the world. I accepted, and was sent here. I can sense a great evil afoot in this twisted land, and I do not know how to combat it."

"Well, now that is cleared up, what do we do now?" Wallace said. Tess thought for a moment, and came upon the most obvious solution. "I have a Salamance and Charizard so we can fly them near the ships, and see what they're up to. Anybody going to join me?" Sycamore and Wallace got aboard Salamance, and waited for AZ.

The giant man looked at the rift, and saw the stadium and city through it. Having made his decision, AZ allowed himself to be carried by Charizard, and they were off.

Rayquaza was also travelling along the void, keeping behind the fleet. If Cypress had noticed it, he wasn't trying to repel the Dragon Lord, nor was Rayquaza attacking. Perhaps it sensed that the way to defeat Cypress was not a direct assault, or something was preventing it from taking action.

The large island, free of distortion, was getting closer. Some smaller ships and grunts on Pokémon had already arrived at the ancient building, and were setting up defenses.

Tess heard a rumbling coming from the gunship, and a field of energy was projected around the main island. The gunship was projecting a ray shield around it, preventing anybody from interfering. The gunship wasn't inside for some reason, so hope remained of disabling it.

The four landed on a island on the near the relative underside of the main landform, but just far away enough where they could see everything. Wallace sent out a Milotic, creating a veil of mist which shielded them from prying eyes.

Cypress had arrived on the surface, and was giving various orders and examining the building, laughing with delight. He said something to Emrett, who then disappeared again.

Cypress pulled out his communicator, and started yelling his prime directives.

"The hour of creation comes soon, but time is required! Soldiers, defend this place! Gunship crew, attack at will! Captains, charge! Commanders, charge! Henry, advance! Eric, advance! Others, defend! Emrett, you know what to do! Onward!"

The grunts came out in droves of hundreds, thousands, more and more, ready to give the fight their all. Some fighting already was starting with the fighters who had already gotten close to the main building, and it was increasing by the second.

Tess got up to join them, but AZ pulled her down. "No! We must see what the enemy is doing. We may see some sights that will help us yet!" Tess saw the wisdom in his words, and got back under the shimmering veil.

Bronze was fighting grunts along with Gladion and Wikstrom, and saw that Rayquaza was now battling Kyurem. The power of the legendary clash could not underestimated, and shockwaves were echoing all over the exotic terrain.

Gladion saw a particular Eclipse Commander fighting with a Hypno, and ran over, screaming, "FABA! GET OVER HERE!"

Faba turned to see Gladion, and instead of running away in cowardice, he actually smiled. "Gladion! I remember when you rescued me all the way in Ultra Space! I suppose your regretting it now, of course. Behold my new power! Genesect, go!"

Faba sent out a Pokémon that was so fast that Bronze couldn't see it. Silvally was taking hits, so it changed to a Ground-type and summoned a sandstorm to slow the enemy down.

Gladion yelled at Bronze and Wikstrom to leave. "This is my fight! I won't accept your help! Leave, or I'll make you!"

Bronze nodded, and glided with Wikstrom to another island, where Yellow and Cheren were engaged in combat with Henry, who seemed to be winning due to his Aegislash's powers. Bronze and Wikstrom charged, changing the tides of the battle.

Henry rasped out a curse. "Another one of you Pokedex Holders?! Aegishlash, don't back down! Lunatone, Guard Swap! Houndoom, Night Claw!"

As the four fought with the Eclipse Admin, Cypress walked among the halls of the great tomb, the battle raging just outside.

The main chamber consisted of a closed gate, a ruddy orange portal frame, and many statues and carvings on the rocky walls. Colress had some of his technicians hook up some power cables to the oddly fitting slots at the portal base, and started manning the controls.

"I belive this portal is a acceptable channel for the seed of creation, but I am sorry to report that it is incomplete, A small, rectangular fragment is missing, preventing it from being usable. I do not advise we open the gateway until we have repaired the portal, my lord."

"A rectangular piece?"

"Yes, my lord!"

How could he have been so unlucky! The key, the final piece, the answer, was on that damned boy! This was a impossibility! That brick was a simple relic, nothing more!

Preparations still needed to be made. With luck, the boy would come to him as the battle raged. The soldiers had nearly unlimited resorces of Potions and other items, which would greatly prolong the battle. He was in control. It would not end like this. He would retrieve the key.

Cypress felt a slight twinge in his gut, and walked out of the chamber without further comment.
