"...Arceus?"
The adamant warrior tightened his chain. "Be silent! You are not worthy to speak in the presence of the One! Bow, and declare him as your lord!" Instead of obeying, the being laughed.
"Palkia, Lord of Space! Long have I contested with you...yet you have the naivete give me a command, and expect me to follow? I do not answer to you."
"No, you do not." Arceus said. "But you do answer to me. Evil One, on your knees."
Slowly, agonizingly, the Enemy bent to its knees. "No...I will not declare you as lord...and you will not force me. What now will you do now? Close my lips? Deaden my body and mind?"
"He should!" Bronze yelled. "Looks like you lost! Your plan has failed, and now your going to be punished! I can't believe that you didn't see this coming. How stupid are you, anyway?!"
The Evil Djinn turned to Bronze. "You believe yourself to be of a greater standing then me? Do not think so. I am older then you, far older. Before your father of your father of your father was conceived, I was already older then you could reckon. I have attended the eternal councils in the Timeless Halls, far above the second heaven. In the very order of creation, I am greater the you, and before me you are of no account." The creature spat at Arceus, earning another tug of its chains. "Is this not so, o One Above All?"
"It is. But I do not hesitate to intercede even for the lowest of creatures, in a time of tribulation. As for you, I did not wish that you should perish, but rather turn from your ways, and be saved. But you are far beyond redemption. I will levy the charges against you personally, and the verdict will be carried out once again.
"In the beginning, you were of the host of beings that were the offspring of my thought, after the creation of the world and spirit. You were my anointed one, mighty on high. I gave you gifts of physical beauty, intelligence, skill, power, charisma, leadership, and position. Instead of using these skills to to benefit the early world in one of the most chaotic times in history, you have caused more suffering then any other being in history.
"You were not content. You addressed the council of the heavens, and incited over a third of the beings in the Firmament to rebel. You and they were cast out like lightning to the earth, where you did not cease your evil. You deceived my Children in the dawn of time, and the seed of darkness you planted will never fall away until the world is mended. You introduced weapons, cosmetics, currency, murder, death, hatred, and all other forms of depravity.
"Then you conspired to take what you believe to be rightfully yours, my very throne. You put Kyogre and Groundon against each other, so that the world would be devastated. I was forced to send the Prince of the Power of the Air to stop this eternal conflict that you engineered, and still your grudge remained. The hero's of Truth and Ideals in Unova you set apart, and you were only narrowly defeated. You even convinced the kings of the earth to seize the power of my earthly form in the form of plates, so that my portion on earth would be enraged against the world. You also forged the Ultimate Weapon, and only barely were stopped from activating it.
"Over the millennia, you sowed discord, dissention, and evil over the nations until you were given the title of the Lord of the Earth. You attempted to create a new creation, as you have just attempted to do. Only the warriors of heaven and earth prevented you from doing so, and you were imprisoned. And for a long time, there was peace without your interference, although the hearts of my children had fallen, and gave themselves to you, although you were not present.
"As your cage was not forged by myself, a portion of your essence escaped only recently. You set out into the earth, and you convinced the very first iteration of Team Rocket to rule the world, with you as its master. That failed, and then you conspired with the Kanto Elite Four to eradicate my children. You failed again. You used the Mask of Ice to attempt to control the Prince of Time, so that you could travel throughout the eon unabated. You failed again.
"You once again set out to reawaken Kyogre and Groundon, destabilizing the natural order of creation. Once again, your schemes were thwarted. You set out to use a Pokémon that was the embodiment of space itself, Deoxys, to attempt to use Team Rocket once again to control the world under your power again. That failed once more. You then had the armored man, Guile Hideout, attempt to drown the entire world in a primeval ocean. You failed, stopped by my representatives.
"Then you convince the maddened remnant of Team Rocket to undertake the greatest blasphemy possible, the imprisonment of my earthly form. You failed in this regard, and the hatred in the incarnates, heart was healed, and your ancient work in tearing the plates away undone. You then reattempted to control a new world, using Team Galactic as your pawns. You were thwarted again.
"Once more, you set out to separate my children from Pokémon, under the guise of liberation. You failed again. Two years later, you decided to destroy the earth by freezing under a sheet of frost, and once more you were defeated. You then sought to reactivate the Ultimate Weapon, failing twice before it was destroyed. You then deceived Deoxys Organism No.1 to take control of a apocalyptic meteorite, and destroy the earth as you used your pawns to prevent its destruction. In the end, you failed.
"You then used the long-brewing madness in a woman of the earth, to open rifts to a land that was not meant to be reached. The Beasts of the Ultra Wilds, and the Blinding One were all under your control, once more defeated. In your most successful attempt yet, you enabled the release of your full essence, and took hold of a man of Earth that fully gave himself to you. Now, you are bound.
"These charges are grave, although just. You have deceived and deluded the whole earth, so that many souls have gone down into the outer darkness, as I weep for them. You have caused more destruction then any being on earth. Since the beginning of your rule, there have been over 10,000 wars, countless crimes, endless depravity, and every kind of detestable practice. I, the One Above All, lay all the suffering of mankind at your feet. Do you deny any of these charges?"
The being paused, although it did not waver in its arrogance. "No...no. I do not deny it...I embrace it. I plead guilty without any remorse. I have only been halted! All the world is still under the curse that I brought, and it will rise to empower me once more! I will not declare you as lord, and I never shall!"
Arceus gave the trio of warriors a sad nod. "Since you do not wish to be forgiven, your sentence is this: You will spend the rest of your days chained once more, until the world is mended."
The being would not be defeated so easily. It transformed into a gigantic serpent, and the creation trio began to wrap even more chains around it. The Evil Djinn transformed into a unnaturally huge lion, and managed to loosen some of its chains. The roar of the beast shook the entire Distortion World, and chilled the very heart.
The lustrous warrior Dialgia clamped the beast's mouth shut, and wrapped a chain around its muzzle, silencing it. The beasts legs were then bound, wrapped again and again.
The creature made one last transformation, back into its glowing void form. The chains loosened once more, but were quickly reapplied.
The warrior that Bronze assumed to be Giratina procured a vial much like the Prison Bottle of old, although this one radiated a aura of strength and security. The Evil Djinn tried to shy away from the cage, but to no use as it was opened.
With a lasting scream, the Enemy flickered into smoke which travelled into the bottle, fighting as hard as possible. As the last cloud was captured, the bottle was corked with a ring.
A three-foot wide hole opened in the floor, and everyone stepped back from the sulfurous stench and heat that wafted up from the land inside. Giratina held the bottle over the gap, and dropped it.
The bottle disappeared, and the hole was sealed.
It was over.
A great cheering broke out, and Arceus raised his arms to the sky in celebration.
"Another evil has been defeated. Another will rise, as evil always does, but not for a long time, as the Lord of Darkness had been bound once more. The forces of evil across all the land have been thrown into disarray, and now is a time for jubilee."
Arceus put its hand on the kneeling form of Giratina. "You, who were cast out to this land for your misdeeds, have been forgiven. You may now go in peace, and travel throughout the earthly and heavenly spheres at your own will."
Giratina began to weep. "But...I am unworthy! I once put myself against you and your will, and that is unforgivable!"
"Only one whisper of remorse, and you were saved. I hold this to be my revealed word to you, so that no one should perish if they wish for me. Let it be done!"
Arceus then addressed everyone, although it felt as if he was communicating with everyone personally.
"You who have resisted the Enemy, I will bless you among the nations. Your name will be carried through my grace to the end of time, until the world is mended. I will strengthen you, aid you, and uphold you will my righteous right hand. The works of man vanish to dust, and do not last, but my will endures forever. Look for me, and you will see that I dwell in the least of my creation. Let it be done!"
Arceus gave a yell of joy, and sprung into the heavens.
Only calm remained. The spell of evil over the entire Distortion World had been lifted. The portal frame no longer glowed, and peace was the only thing Bronze was looking forward to for a very long time.
"Well," Black laughed, "I don't think anything else can be said except that we need to resume the Pokémon League!" Everyone laughed, to overwhelmed to think of anything else.
Something, however, seemed to be still lurking...
"Don't-pant-move! Pant-I said-pant-don't move!"
"Hey, who said that?" Green asked. "It sounds like it's coming from near the portal..."
"How right you are!" The voice replied. "Don't think you won just because Arceus had to come and make a little show!" Lo and behold, crouching at the side of the portal frame, pointing a small black object, was Cypress, decaying, panting, and furious beyond belief.
"Don't move, I say! Unless you all want to die! Yes, Pokedex Holders, I still live. I still live!"
