This is a retelling of the original story with some elements from the two Disney versions. I decided to throw a twist into this one that I don't think has been done. Just keep in mind that its not finished before you get upset about anything, please.

This not the typical story of 'Beauty and the Beast' where a woman saves the 'prince' from the evil spell of an enchantress or talking tea cups give her advice on her life. This not your typical fairy tale. In this story, instead of a woman saving a mere man, she's saving a kingdom from it's downfall. This woman is called Laila Murphy.

My retelling of the classic, it turned out good I think - heavily inspired by winterstarfire "claiming of the beast" - it's amazing, read it. I've never actually seen the Disney versions, but I'm familiar with some of it and the original fairy tale. Lemony content, my thoughts on how they would have interacted. Keep in mind the culture of the time, men in charge, blah, blah.

Suppose Gaston hadn't sacrificed his life and saved his younger sister, up on the Beast's castle that night? What if things had happened differently? Lissa races to stop her murderous brother from committing further evil. It doesn't end well...for either of them.

Adam and Belle take a nice walk. No sex, very little nudity, and no foul language. Just rated M because the idea is sexual and I didn't want little kids seeing this by mistake.

"Have you ever seen the inside of a madhouse, Maurice? You wouldn't last a week!" The villagers thought Gaston turned crazy because of the war. Gaston thought loving a man was a crime. LeFou thought he now hated Gaston. They were all wrong.

The Beast is unable to sleep because his injuries (from the wolf attack) hurt too much, and Belle is still badly shaken, so the two of them have a cup of tea together. Based on 1991 version. Beast's POV.

When the Spirit of Christmas Past mistakenly arrives at the wrong castle, Belle and Adam seize the opportunity to see how their servants celebrated Christmas in years past. Adam's POV. Some elements of "A Christmas Carol," but not a crossover. Based on the 1991 version, as evidenced by the fact that the story of Mr. Potts does not match 2017 version.

The enchantress tells her backstory of why she cursed a young boy into becoming a Beast. Based on the 1991 version.

Based on 1991 film. Belle's POV. A year after Belle first arrived at the castle, the servants have recovered their human forms, but hostility still remains, especially with the OC forest workers. However, Belle refuses to give up hope that everyone will be able to talk things out.

Based on 1991 version. Adam's POV. When Adam's cousin, Lisette, comes to visit the castle, he notices that her presence has a few strange effects on one of his toughest servants, although the two assure him they're nothing more than friends.

Based on the 1991 version. Cogsworth's POV before the spell. He and a group of friends unwind at the end of a long day by going for a swim, but their fun and games take an unexpected turn when they meet two beggars.

While a festival ball takes place inside the castle, an unsettling atmosphere stirs within the halls. It's all fun and laughter until a corpse is discovered. We all knew a lot about Prince Adam before he was cursed, but we don't know a lot after he was human again. This is a story of what it was like for Adam to adjust to being human again.
