A short one shot based on Season 2's episodes

When Sherlock Holmes called Joan Watson for help instead of his new "protege", she knew there must be something seriously wrong. (Spoiler alert...if you consider a photo instagrammed completely out of context a "spoiler").

Two small vignettes of Joan and Sherlock dealing with the separation. Takes place between season 2 and season 3. Up on tumblr as well. Note: Mentions of drug use and overdose.

Joan is having trouble sleeping - a night visitor is trying to make amends - a ghost story of sorts. Written for the Watson's Woes challenge 26 "Ghost" over on LJ.

A shocking conversation happens between Joan Watson and Kitty Winter. Kitty at first seems unreasonably angry with a person she's only recently met, but Joan learns that Kitty is aware of far more than she ever knew. Kitty's introduction to Sherlock goes back further than either Joan or Sherlock realizes and unbeknownst to him he created this new partner.

How do Joan and Sherlock work out in the final analysis? We are deep into the possibility of Sherlock and Joan as a couple, some of this based on canon, but with definite areas of divergence that will be quite obvious as we put the final two chapters in this piece. Joan is heading home from the precinct but a car bumps her to a pavement. Joan spends six months unconscious in hospital. Read how Sherlock tries to help her when she has finally woken up. But… it's not so simple. Why? Joan doesn't remember anything about her time with Sherlock.

"Schenectady is the next stop, Watson." She didn't respond. "Fine," he pouted, and the train lurched, planting his pursed lips on her temple and rocking them both against the windows and rebounding into each other. Genre: Fake marriage

Joan Watson's life is scattered with words: simultaneously teeming and empty. She tries to keep up pace to learn them; peel them off letter by letter, sound by sound. But time never waits. It didn't, and it never will.

This is set some time in the not too distant future. But some things change for both Joan and Sherlock between then and now. The story is set well into season three and is a followup of sorts to my last fic, Embers. You don't need to have read Embers, but it would help a tiny bit if you had. Joan and Sherlock are back to working as partners. This one kind of got out of hand. It's very fluffy joanlock and be warned by chapter 3 it's solid joanlock. Slight spoilers with use of name of 2 new characters.
