Just a really short ficlet. Connected to the story "A Game for Dreamers and Fools" but didn't really fit in a chapter. First attempt at ficlet, so be nice! :)

AU. No one sees who Sherlock is always whispering to, but one thing is for certain, she always whispers back. (Major character death. )

Joan is away on a conference. Sherlock stays home and sulks.

After Sherlock runs off on his own, he comes home to a pissed off Joan who goes out in a fit of anger.

Sherlock and Joan take a small break from their job and enjoy a day at the park. Sort off.

It wasn't often that Joan was awake when Sherlock wasn't.

"And she is torn between aggravation and horror and fondness. She doesn't know if she should just sigh at him or patch him up or kick him the fuck out of here right now." AKA Holmes is pretty much a gigantic jackass and Watson sasses him for it also blood and cigarettes and drug rehabilitation, oh my!

"Of course, Sherlock had had the surgery, the hormone therapy, the papers and records changed (and all the best, only ever the best for his 'daughter') but his father had never understood." rated t for allusions to drugs, possibly sensitive issues, possible trigger for gender issues

Do things normally work out as planned? Nope, not when it comes to her life.
