The First Journey.
Quick Note – I forgot to write what the magic spell and ability incarnation in the first chapter, so here is the incarnation of what the magic spells and ability are:
"[Fire!]"
"Sonic Blade!"
Before we head into the chapter, I previously said in the last chapter if Donald and Goofy are going to be different than the game cannon. Well, their physical appearance will stay the same, but their personality will be different when they met Sora. They will be cautious of her because of Sora's personality at first, but their opinion of her will change.
Enjoy the chapter.
Chapter Three: Trouble at Disney Castle.
While it was getting closed to night time in Destiny Islands, it was a beautiful, clear sky, sunny day in a world called Disney Castle. Said castle was standing tall and proud in all its glory, with its smooth stone that would be deflected by the rays of warm sunlight, its blue and white colors with red flags that had the kingdom's symbol, which was a black mouse-shaped, its skyscrapers that would show a great view of the kingdom, and its friendly, yet authority, atmosphere.
Disney Castle was home to not only King Mickey and Queen Minnie with her right-hand maiden, Lady Daisy, but to Donald Duck, the King's Court Magician, Captain Goofy, the King's Royal Knight, and Chip and Dale, the engineers and mechanics of the Gummi technology. They are the only people who lived in Disney Castle, and each person were doing their own daily objectives, objectives of what they usually do every day.
The engineer's, Chip and Dale, objective was to stay in the Gummi Hangar and work on technology designs for their world, while figuring out what kind of ships they should build with their supply of Gummi Blocks.
The King's Knight objective was to make sure nothing trespasses through the castle, while training a generation of knights to protect the kingdom from the forces of darkness and evil.
Queen Minnie's objective was to go over paperwork that were mostly bills and building requests with her friend and right-hand maiden, Lady Daisy.
The Court Magician's objective was to greet the King every morning, which was the best job for Donald because of two reasons. One, he can see how his friend is doing, even though the King would repeating say to Donald that he is fine. And two, he would ask how the other worlds are doing and see if their stars were still shining brightly.
In fact, Donald was walking towards the throne room of the castle with a smile on his face, his feet would make a tapping nose for every step he took, even though it was slightly muffled because of the red carpet. His physical appearance was a small, anthropomorphic, male duck with white fur, a yellow-orange bill and feet, black eyes with light blue sclera, and a short tuff of feathers on top of his head, right above where his eyes was.
Donald's outfit was a long-sleeved, navy blue and black jacket that resembles like a sweater because of the sleeves, with two yellow buttons in the middle of the jacket with a blue belt that was tied around the waist area and a dark blue addition at the bottom that covers the lower part of his body. He wore a sky-blue, semi long-sleeved, high-collar vest with gold lining and two silver zippers that were zipped at the bottom. Since Donald was a magic user, he wore a large, dark blue hat that resembles a witch's hat. It was wide brimmed with gold lining and there was an angular fashion on top of the hat, which was similar to his Mage's Staff with the tip being curled.
As Donald walked through the corridors of Disney Castle to the throne room, he came across a sight that made him paused and lose his smile. Standing in front of him were a set of enchanted mops and brooms that are currently attending their cleaning duties with buckets of water next to the mops, which are sweeping and polishing the floors, dusting and scrubbing the carpets and furniture, along with the King's study, and taking out the garbage. The thought of having brooms and mops come to life was fascinating and frightening at the same time, and Donald preferred using a broom normally when he'd previously lived in his steamboat.
'I understand Queen Minnie would use enchanted mops and brooms to clean the castle, but couldn't she make them more…nice?' Donald thought with a slight shiver, remembering the time he accidentally angered an enchanted mop and let's just say that he couldn't come to the castle for three days in fear of angering another enchanted mop.
Not wanting to disturb the enchanted mops and brooms cleaning duties, Donald quickly walked past them and once he was safe distance away, he let out a relief sigh before he continued to head towards the throne room, but his pace was a bit faster than before. Either it was because Donald was being a bit late to greet the King, or it was because he didn't want to deal with another set of enchanted mops and brooms. Probably the latter.
It wasn't long until Donald stopped walking and stood in front of a very tall, purple door that led into the King's throne room, causing the smile he lost to returned. Clearing his throat and standing up straight, the Court Magician raised a feather-like hand in the air and knocked on the door. Instantly, a door about his size opened after releasing a unlocked clicking sound, and he entered the door and began walking again.
The King's throne room was very large like the very tall door Donald just walked through. It contained a single red carpet that led towards the golden throne chair where the King would reside in and a ceiling glass window that would cause sunlight to fill the room. Behind the throne room chair was a huge banner that was red and showed the kingdom's symbol and underneath the banner were two statues that were shaped as animals. The statue on the left was a duck who wore wizard robes and a staff in its right hand while the statue on the right was a dog who wore metal armor and held a circle shield in its left hand.
"Good morning, your Majesty!" Donald called out, bowing his head in respect, as he continued to walk towards the throne chair. His smile faded a little when he didn't hear a reply from the King, and he had a sinking feeling inside him but shook it off. The Court Magician was sure that the King's tired and couldn't reply because of a yawn. Stopping right in front of the stairs that led to the throne room chair, Donald raised his head up. "It's nice to see you this morn-WHAT?!"
To Donald's great surprised and shock, the King wasn't sitting in the throne chair. In fact, the King wasn't in the room at all! The sinking feeling Donald vanished a moment ago came back but stronger than ever and the smile on his face was gone. Where was the King? Is he sick? Is he alright? Was he sleeping in? No, the King wouldn't be sleeping in because of the royal events that been happening, and the enchanted brooms or Queen Minnie would've told him the King was sick.
But the question remains, where is the King and why isn't he in the throne room?
Just as Donald was about to turn around and go find Queen Minnie to tell her the King was missing, a yellow dog who had a green collar and black eyes poked its head around the throne and walked towards Donald, who was further surprised to see the King's dog in the throne room. "Pluto?" The dog nodded its head and stopped right in front of Donald before sitting down and showing him an envelope even in its mouth.
With a frown on his face and wondering if the letter had to do with the disappearance with the King, Donald took the envelope from Pluto, opened its contents and began reading the letter. With each sentence he read in silence, Donald's eyes were becoming wider and wider, and his bill slowly parted from how shocked he was. When he finished reading the letter, he stood still as a statue for a few moments, his mind reeling from what he just read, before he turned around and began sprinting out of the room, screaming as he did so.
(Ten Minutes Later; Disney Castle's Courtyard)
The courtyard of Disney Castle was a large area that was filled with green grass that were trimmed and cut, colorful flowers and bushes that were shaped like animals with musical instruments in their hands. There was a small, bush castle in the middle of the courtyard with a path of light green grass around in a circle and lying next to the said bush castle, in the flower patch with his hands behind his head, clearing taking a nap, was the King's Royal Knight, Captain Goofy.
Goofy had the appearance of a tall, human-like dog with droopy ears, black fur and black eyes. His attire was a sleeveless, orange shirt with a high collar that was yellow and on top of his sleeveless shirt was an oblong, blue piece of clothing that was on his left side and held on by a black strap, which was attached by yellow, star-shaped buttons. He wore a thick belt that was tied around his waist and made of metal, with two blue straps looping around the back. Goofy's pants were baggy and orange with a noticeable seam down the front of each leg, but at the bottom of the pants were black with gold lining. For shoes, they were large and made of metal with the tip being curled upward. To complete the outfit, he wore metal armor that covered his left side, a metal band on his right arm that was below his shoulder and a small, metal helmet with a blade on top of the element.
Goofy was so deep in his nap that he didn't notice or hear Donald sprinting out the castle, still screaming his head off. The duck was franticly looking around for something and once he spotted what he was looking for, which happens to be Goofy, he sprinted over to the sleeping knight.
"Captain Goofy, wake up! Wake up this instant!" Donald shouted after he got close enough and began shaking the knight rather roughly. "There's a serious matter we need to discuss!" Goofy didn't wake up from Donald's shouting and rough shaking, and just continued to slumber in peace, irritating the duck. "Goofy, wake up!"
The response to Donald's rough shaking and shouting was a snore from Goofy.
Now irritated and running out of patience, Donald raised one hand in the air and bellowed, "[Thunder!]"
A single crack of yellow lightning appeared out of thin air and hit Goofy's body dead on, causing him to wake up and let out a howled in pain. The King's Captain sat up, rubbed his eyes with one hand and looked around with a groggily look. But when he spotted Donald, who was glaring at him, his groggily look was replaced by a happy look.
"Hey there, Donald!" Goofy cheerfully greeted with a wave of his hand, not realizing that he'd been hit by lightning, due to him being a clumsy person. If it was someone else who was struck by lightning, they would've complained to person who cast the spell. "Good morning!"
"We got a problem, Goofy!" Donald shouted, silencing Goofy by waving both of his hands and cast a quick glance around him before leaning forward. "But don't tell anyone about this. I don't want to cause much panic like I was a few moments ago."
"Do we tell Queen Minnie?" Goofy confusingly asked, not grasping the situation. He was still a bit sleepy.
"Not even the Queen!" Donald's response was sharp and firm.
"Lady Daisy?"
"NO!" Donald screaming, shaking his head. "It's top secret!"
But Goofy seemed interested of looking over Donald's shoulder. "Oh, good morning, ladies."
Donald froze when Goofy said that and gulp a bit before turning around slowly to see two figures, which were females, standing a bit distance away from the Court Magician and the Royal Knight, much to Donald's dread and slight horror.
Queen Minnie had the appearance of a small, female mouse with the same height as Donald and her friend, Lady Daisy. She had black fur, long eyelashes, red lipstick on her lips and her most noticeable features was her big, round ears and the golden tiara with the kingdom's symbol she wore on her forehead. Her outfit was a ballgown dress with short, ball-shaped sleeves and layers of different colors, which were red, pink and salmon. She wore white opera-theater gloves and red shoes that were high heeled.
Lady Daisy had the appearance of a duck like Donald with white fur, a yellow-orange bill and black eyes with light blue sclera, only she was a female and had lavender eye shadow and long eyelashes. Like Queen Minnie, she wore a golden tiara with a sapphire gem in the front. Her attire was a sleeveless, ornate, violet ballgown with a high collar and a white, lace column of buttons in the front. The ballgown also had an amethyst color in the abdomen area with a tan, triangular patter and the bottom of the gown was periwinkle-colored with white pattern that were wavy.
"Court Magician Donald, what is with all the screaming and shouting?" Queen Minnie asked in a soft voice.
"Yes, please explain, dear." Daisy also said in a soft voice, but there was a bit of warning in her tone, indicating that Donald gives a good explanation about why he was screaming and shouting first thing in the morning.
'I'm in so much trouble!' Donald thought, as cold sweat appeared on his head and began dripping downwards. He was slightly shaking a bit from the glare he was receiving from his girlfriend, and wonder how the hell he was going to talk his way out of this.
(Time-Skip; In the King's Study)
Deathly silence reigned inside the King's study, which Donald, Goofy, Queen Minnie and Lady Daisy decided to head to not only read the letter the King wrote in private, but to make sure the information doesn't leak out. Once they finished reading, their minds began reflecting the letter.
'Donald,
I'm sorry for rushing off without saying goodbye or any explanation, but trouble is brewing. Big trouble. For some reason I can't explain at all, the stars are blinking out and it's making me nervous. It started it out small at first, but as the days went by, it began increasing into an alarming height, and I had no choice but to leave you all to investigate. I hate it, but I had no choice. Disaster is coming, and I have a feeling that we need to prepare ourselves for a battle that has yet to come. Not for our world but the other worlds as well.
Luckily for us, there is hope. Someone out there holds the mightiest weapon of them all: A Keyblade. That weapon is the key to everything. The fate of the worlds and the fate of all people. It is our ultimate survival, Donald. We need that key, or we're doomed! So, as the King, I want you and Goofy to go find that person and stick with that person. If the Keyblade goes to a new owner who works with evil, don't follow that person, just stick with the person it chose first. You cannot abandon the person who will bring hope to all worlds.
When you are done reading this letter, Donald, go get Goofy and head to Traverse Town. A person named Leon will help you and point you in the direction you need to go.
P.S: Would you apologize to Minnie for me? Thank you.
From King Mickey.'
That is what the letter said when everyone began reading it, except Donald, who read it before, and everyone was still thinking about it with the same expression on their faces, which was somber and worry. Somber that the King had left Disney Castle and worry that the King is alone and has no one to talk to.
"What…what does this letter mean?" Lady Daisy asked, sending a worried glance at her friend who remained silent the whole time after reading the King's letter. The female duck knows Queen Minnie was having a difficult time of holding the tears that were threatening to spill, and she was extremely worried that the female mouse might break down in the King's study. Daisy knew she would need to have her work cut out if she wanted to comfort the Queen of Disney Castle.
"It means that we just have to trust the King, Lady Daisy." Queen Minnie replied calmly after taking a deep breath, holding her hands together and placing them in front of her ballgown dress. While her voice may be calm, her black eyes told everyone a different story. They were filled with incredible sadness that made everyone's heart clench, and everyone in the room gave Minnie looks of sympathy.
"I sure hope the King is alright." Goofy stated in a worried tone, his normal cheerful eyes were replaced by sadness and worry. His body structure was slumped forward with his head hanging down. The King's Knight was worried about his friend, and hoped he was alright.
"Don't worry, your Highness! Me and Goofy will find the King and this person with the Keyblade!" Donald spoke up for the first time, his voice firm and determined. He didn't like the very sad atmosphere that was hanging in the King's study. "We'll make sure to bring the King back safe and sound!"
Queen Minnie looked over to where Donald is, a bit shock about his outburst before smiling. "Thank you, Court Magician Donald."
Donald looked over to his girlfriend who walked over to stand beside Queen Minnie. "Daisy, can you take care of the Queen for us?"
"Of course." Lady Daisy replied, nodding her head. "You and Goofy be careful when you two are in different worlds. Make sure to stick together and don't get separated."
"Before you two head to the Gummi Hanger to leave the castle, a friend of the King will accompany you throughout your journey." Queen Minnie said, gesturing to the desk where the King works with a nod of her head.
"Who is the person, Queen Minnie?" Donald asked with a frown, not seeing anyone on the desk. "I don't see anyone."
"Over here!" A male's voice called out, getting Donald to look over of where the voice was coming from. On the King's desk was a male cricket that was currently jumping up and down. He wore a long-sleeve, high collar white shirt with a sleeveless vest that was red and had a couple of buttons, a black waist coat, a yellow tie, white gloves, light brown pants and black and yellow shoes. On his head was a top hat that was blue with an orange trim.
This was Jiminy Cricket, the King's Journalist.
"We're taking a cricket with us on our journey?" Donald asked, a bit appalled that a cricket of all things was coming with him and Goofy to Traverse Town.
"Jiminy Cricket at your service." The cricket, known as Jiminy, introduced himself, taking his hat off and bowing forward.
"When you two meet the Keyblade Wielder, Court Magician Donald and Captain Goofy, you must tell the wielder about the world's order." Queen Minnie stated in a firm tone, losing the smile on her face to become serious. "In each world you go, you must retain the order and blend in with the inhabitants. Change your outfits and make sure not to reveal anything about the Keyblade and the worlds. Remember the world's order."
Donald and Goofy became serious when Queen Minnie said the world's order and nodded their heads. The world's order is a very strict order where every outsider from a different world cannot reveal there are other worlds. The reason why this order existed is because outsiders are not supposed to be meddling in the worlds at all. If a person from another world reveals there are other worlds, other people will try to go between worlds as they pleased, while ignoring the world order.
There are a few people who knows about different worlds, namely its leaders, but they stayed silent since they didn't want the information to spread around to people who has their own selfish desires.
"We'll maintain the world's order, Queen Minnie!" Donald and Goofy exclaimed at the same time, saluting to the Queen.
"Thank you." Queen Minnie said, nodding her head. "You two better be prepared for what you're about to face. I can sense dark times approaching. We hope for your return safe and sound. Help the King and looked after each other."
Donald and Goofy nodded their heads before turning around and leaving the King's study to head towards the Gummi Hanger, not before taking Jiminy with them and giving Queen Minnie and Lady Daisy one last goodbye.
(Ten Minutes Later; With Donald, Goofy and Jiminy)
Since the Gummi Hanger was located underneath the castle, Donald, Goofy and Jiminy had to enter the courtyard and enter the medium-sized, bush castle, which revealed a dark room that had a long, spiral staircase. Blue and pink lightbulbs were on the walls to give light to the dark staircase. Donald and Goofy were currently walking down on the staircase while Jiminy was on top of Goofy's helmet.
"Your world disappeared too, Jiminy?" Goofy asked, as he followed behind a silent Donald.
"It was terrible to experience." Jiminy said in a sad voice. "Everyone was having a nice day when the world suddenly disappeared into darkness, without any explanation whatsoever. As far as I know, I'm the only one who manage to get out of my world and here to this castle."
"There must be an explanation on why the worlds are vanishing into darkness." Donald spoke up, a frown on his face. "Every world is filled with light, so how can they descend into darkness?"
"Maybe this Leon guy will tell us why the worlds are disappearing." Goofy suggested.
"Let's hope so, Goofy." Jiminy stated, hoping the guy can provide answers for him and the King's friends. "If this guy knows about the worlds and the Keyblade, then we might be able to get a clue on where the King would be."
It wasn't long until Donald and Goofy – Jiminy decided to make himself comfortable inside Donald's coat pocket – reached the Gummi Hanger after walking in a long hallway that was dark like the staircase. The Gummi Hanger was a large room that was filled with lots of machinery. Giant, white-gloved hands were moving around the room, either carrying an item or readying the Gummi Ship, which was located in the center of the room and currently on the ground.
(A/N: I'm not going to describe what the Gummi Ship looks like because I'm not good of describing transportation vehicles. The Gummi Ship is what everyone starts with in the beginning)
Donald and Goofy walked down a set of stairs as soon as they entered the room and up to a yellow, metal pipe that was at the end of a circular-round platform. Donald cleared his throat and leaned forward to the metal pipe. "Hello up there! Donald Duck to launch crew!"
In the main control area, two engineers were scurrying around to get the Gummi Ship ready. Said engineers were chipmucks that are twins and anthropomorphized but had different physical features. The first chipmuck had brown fur that covered every part of his body, except the face, the stomach and around the eyes, which the color of it was buff, black eyes, a white mouth and a rather small, black nose. He also had two set together teeth in the center of his upper jaw.
The first chipmuck's outfit was an apron that was sleeveless and being held up by red shoulder straps with black buttons. The apron's color was orange with a buff-colored trim, and in the center of the apron was a slanted, blue pocket with the Kingdom's symbol in it, which was surrounded by a yellow gear. He also wore brown with a gold trim gloves that went up to his elbow.
The other chipmuck had the exact same appearance as the first chipmunk, which was having black eyes, a white mouth and fur style, but there are differences between them. For example, the other chipmunk's fur was a lighter shade of brown with a mohawk at the top, and his nose was red and larger. He also had two, buck teeth that was in his top jaw but separated on each side.
The other chipmunk's outfit was the same apron as the first chipmunk, but the color of it was buff-colored with an orange trim.
These two chipmucks were Chip and Dale, the engineers and mechanics of the Gummi technology.
"Launch crew hears you loud and clear, Donald!" Chip stated, as he was closest to a pipe that communicates with the launch-pad.
"Is the Gummi Ship ready for takeoff?" Donald asked.
"She is ready to launch, Donald. All it needs its pilot and gunner."
"Then let's do the procedures."
Chip turned around and gave Dale a thumbs up, who nodded before running over to a lever and pulled it down, causing the giant, white-glove hands to stop what they were doing before going over to where Donald and Goofy was and picked them up. The giant hands carried the two over to the Gummi Ship's cockpit and lowered them in a bit roughly in Goofy's opinion.
Before the cockpit's window can close over Donald and Goofy, who had just taken their seats with Donald in the pilot seat and Goofy in the gunner seat, Pluto suddenly appeared in the Gummi Hanger and jumped into the Gummi Ship, surprising and startling the heck out of Donald and Goofy.
"Pluto?!" Donald exclaimed, wondering how Pluto got into the Gummi Hanger, while trying to calm down his beating heart. The dog let out a bark before climbing in the remaining seat of the Gummi Ship. The Gummi Ship then started to slowly rise from the ground and ready itself to launch position by facing the Gummi Hanger's door, which was opened.
It was at that moment, when the Gummi Ship was rising, Queen Minnie and Lady Daisy entered the Gummi Hanger and walked to the launch pad platform to see Donald and Goofy off. When the ship was in its launch position, Donald looked over to see the Queen and his girlfriend standing at the launch pad and gave them a wave. The two women waved back, knowing that it was going to be a while until they can see Donald and Goofy again.
Soon, the Gummi Ship's rockets roared to life and the ship shook a little, causing Goofy to grip his seat a bit tighter, Pluto to bark and Donald to look forward with a focus look on his face. Any second now, the blast off signal will show and the group will blast out into Lanes of Between. Sure enough, after waiting for a moment, the blast off signal appeared, which was an arrow that was red and pointed forward.
"Blast off!" Donald shouted, pointing at Gummi Hanger's door when he saw the arrow. However, he was caught-off guard when the arrow suddenly pointed downwards. He never seen the blast off signal pointed downwards before. 'What does that arrow mean?'
Donald's question was answered when a hole underneath the Gummi Ship opened and sucked the ship in a dark tunnel, causing Donald and Goofy to scream in shock. It was a good thing they had their seatbelts on, otherwise they would've collided their face against the cockpit. After screaming for a few moments, the Gummi Ship was now in the Lanes of Between, and Donald started the engine that caused the ship to take off to the stars.
The journey to find the King had just begun.
The second part of Trouble at Disney Castle is done, and I will combine the first part chapter with this part chapter to officially make it Trouble at Disney Castle.
